Normally, sleep in the lair would be peaceful. A thriving time for the boys and reader to enjoy the mundane silence away from the hectic nights. Patrol had ended 2 hours ago, and during the first one a thunder storm had stared. While that would cause panic, Donnie had a system that redirected any extra water away from their homes as to not get flooded.

While getting ready for bed, reader had been finished first and locked herself away in her personal room away from the boys. She was living there permanently after her apartment got wrecked in the invasion. She had met the boys during a late patrol night and they decided to help her out. In return of her not freaking out when first seeing them.

After a few months of living with them she began to feel safer than she did when she had her apartment. For multiple reasons of course. For one the secludedness of the lair and two, the boys were protective of their friends and family. Especially Raph. So she didn't have to worry about someone hurting her when she leaves to work and comes back.

Tonight was different, this was a different kind of danger and unsettlement. The kind that doesn't go away when your in a safe place. The thunder storm with occasional lightning strikes, had triggered her memories of when the Kraang had attacked. It didn't help that there was a possibility of them coming back. Scatterings of their technology were left behind and people began tampering with them.

So when at 4 in the morning, reader screamed in response to a louder bang in the sky, Raph jumped awake and quickly ran to his friend. For some reason he was the light sleeper of the family. Even Splinter couldn't be forced awake. While rushing into the room he accidentally slammed the door opened causing the girl to jump again.

By this point she was in heavy tears trying to calm down. Raph took a moment and looked around. No one attacked her that's for sure. Looking at her closely now he realized how bad she was crying. Paying attention at the noise above the sewer roof, rumbling from high up accord.

"What are you doing here?" she asked full paying attention to the red-clad turtle just 10 feet away from her. He got closer and sat down next to her.

"Heard ya scream. Didn't want you to get kidnapped." he replied while rubbing her back slowly. She leaned into it and fell into a trance of calm. After a while he gently scooped her up and sat on her bed with her between his legs.

After about 20 minutes of his thumb rubbing against her arm, he fell asleep too. Churring in content emotions and a peaceful rest.

The next morning they awoke to the brothers, more specifically Mikey and Donnie, taking pictures of the two cuddle buddies on the queen size bed with grey sheets and comforters. Raph was the first to awaken with a very displeased expression apparent on his green face.

"Wake up love birds! Sun's here!" Mikey gloated as he ran away with an albums worth of pictures. Donnie just chortled and walked away while closing the door. Huffing in annoyance of his siblings, Raph looked down at the sleeping girl. How she hadn't woken up with his brothers ruckus, was beyond him.

She shifted and cuddled closer into his carapace and breathed out with relaxation. He sunk into the mattress and pulled her closer. Thinking back to a few hours ago, he hoped she had slept better than what she could have if he hadn't woke up. It was a good thing she lived with them, otherwise it could have been a hell morning.

After another 5 minutes, reader stirred and sat up rubbing her eyes and yawned. Raph just watched her while glancing at the door. When she noticed she was between his thighs, her face turned red.

"Sorry, thanks for coming when you did." Raph shrugged his shoulders and picked her up putting her on his left. He grazed his thumb over her cheek and cupped the back of her head. He pulled her forward and down, then placing a kiss on the top of her head. He got off the bed and stretched, turning to her and just smiled.

Leaving the room after closing the door he began freaking out internally. Leo, who was sitting on the couch skimming through the channels on the television April and Casey had brought them, had noticed and smiled.

"Good to know you weren't having sex while Mikey's here." a pillow was thrown at his face and he laughed it off leaving on a channel that had this animated witch show Mikey liked.

TMNT Holiday HC's

🦃🦃🦃THANKSGIVING🦃🦃🦃

Splinter prefers goose, but he saves that meal for Christmas Eve. Instead, he and Mikey take turns basting the turkey the night before.

Despite the color, Raph hates cranberry sauce and refuses to eat if it touches his plate.

Mikey will insist on having both of the turkey drumsticks. Then he will proceed to play a kicking rhythm on his plate with those 'drumsticks'.

Leo likes his food orderly and not touching - "It's presentation!"

Donnie enjoys mixing his food all together. "After all", he explains to Leo's disgusted expression, "it all goes down the same way, plus, this way makes eating the meal more efficient.". (Leo moves his seat)

Mikey is a fiend for deviled eggs, which used to be bad for Raph when they shared a bedroom. "Now", the big brute smiles with glee, "it's your problem".

Actually, watch Donnie around the desserts too.

At some point, early in the day, you will be sitting on the dojo floor thinking about that one episode of Friends as you watch a long-practiced, annual tradition of Teams Raph/Donnie and Leo/Mikey playing some sort of hybrid version of football and ninjutsu.

Several hours later you will join Splinter, Donnie, and Mikey for the second long-practiced, annual tradition of starting Thanksgiving dinner without Leo and Raph. The two alphas always end up in a dog pile on top of the football, refusing to concede.

Stories are told around the dinner table but the best one you hear from the four chuckling, yet proud turtles, is that when they were young, the guys snuck onto one of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade floats. The public thought that they were just part of the decorations. Splinter, of course, was furious. However, to this day you can still spy them in old footage clips from that year.

🎁🎁🎁🎁Christmas🎁🎁🎁🎁

Mikey was always required to bunk with Leo on Christmas Eve so that he wouldn't sneak during the night to catch Santa. FYI, this still happens to this day.

As a kid, one of Leo's favorite things was to listen to Splinter read Twas The Night Before Christmas while curled up in his father's lap. He still insists that his father read the poem, but now he curls up on the sofa with a hot cup of chamomile tea.

When Raph was a kid, he liked to go sit on rooftops on Christmas Eve and daydream about living in one of the apartments with a mom baking cookies and dad, Splinter, allowing them to open one present on Christmas Eve. He still likes to go enjoy the solitude on Christmas Eve, but now he looks up at the stars and thanks each one for bringing you into his life.

Donnie has always been sleep-adverse, even as a kid; so, Splinter had a Christmas Eve ritual to get his genius son to sleep. Splinter would make Donnie take a hot lavender bath, then he would give him melatonin and some warm milk to wash it down with, then he would rub circles around Donnie's plastron, while humming a Japanese lullaby, until he was asleep. Splinter has now handed this tradition off to you, he even taught you the lullaby's tune.

Mikey's favorite thing about Christmas Eve is bingeing Christmas movies while indulging in hot chocolate and cookies.

Leo's least favorite thing about Christmas Eve is Mikey hyping up on the sugar of hot chocolate and cookies before he has to bunk with Mikey.

🎊🎊🎉🎉New Year's Eve🎉🎉🎊🎊

Leo's long-time dream for New Year's Eve is a perfect romantic, intimate one. He dreamed that if he ever had a significant other, he would want to cuddle in front of a fireplace, sip champagne, and enjoy a lovely meal prepared by them both. Then he would slow dance with her until midnight struck, telling her how special she was to him, ending the dialogue with a longing peck on the mouth (he tried to keep his daydreams from running wild).

Raph's long-time dream for New Year's Eve is to party up until nearly midnight, then get to take his special lady to Times Square and kiss her at midnight among the falling confetti. He would hold her close, to keep her warm and enjoy the moment of just being 'part of the crowd' with a lovely woman on his arm.

Mikey's long-time dream for New Year's Eve is to join Raph in partying until close to midnight. Then he would ninja his way to the big glittering ball, mount it, and ride it down its descent for the sole purpose of getting to say that "Three Balls Dropped" into the new year or, equally funny, "Everyone Celebrated My Balls Dropping" (he can't make of his mind which one he would yell). Then he would run to his girl, make sure she was giggling at his antics and then whisk her away to utilize the first few hours of the new year with wild sex.

Donnie's always dreamed of building a matter transportation device to teleport himself to the first time zone to experience midnight. Then, he would continue to visit each time zone in succession and experience New Year's Eve around the world. Of course, he'd have to take his lady-love with him and get to kiss her over and over again at each new midnight, in each new city. Although it's been a long-time daydream...his device is nearly ready...are you?

I imagine that Leo can understand and read Japanese but he can’t speak it, so whenever he and Sayuri talk they do so frequently in Japanese (well… at least he tries to 😅)

She cooks and he cleans

He’s an early bird and she’s a night owl.

He’s by the book and she’s a free sprit.

When Sayuri studies, he brings her tea. When he trains, she wipes the sweat from his brow.

Sayuri, being a former karate athlete, practices some katas with Leo. Splinter finds them adorable btw.

They are giving geisha x samurai warrior

Sayuri always makes the tea, because Leo prefers how she makes it compared to how he does it.

They would spar playfully in the dojo from time to time

They both LOVE deep conversations (etc. meaning of life, point of existence, origins of the universe)

They def have plant children, and they have a watering and trimming schedule together 🥺🌱

Sayuri likes to cook for her turtle beau. Udon, yakisoba, okonomiyaki, onigiri, mochi, curry, miso. Leo learns a lot from Sayuri when they cook together. He now knows how to execute a good miso soup with rice.

Sayuri always carries a tracking charm and help button on her medical bracelet that Leo had requested Donnie to create. After how they first met, Sayuri doesn’t really mind.

Sayuri LOVES to watch Leo train. His amazing strength and precise technique astounds her every time. Not to mention those biceps 👀 Leo knows his girl is watching so he shows off a little too heheh

Their date nights are pretty vanilla. Cooking and having dinner together, movie nights, book club sessions, or even just conversation. Sometimes though, Leo will take her into the city and show her exclusive views.

Carrying her bridal style when they travel makes Leo feel so strong 💕 she’s his Queen 👸

not so big on PDA but Sayuri will initiate the occasional hand-holding and Leo will sling an arm across her waist and shoulders from time to time

When they argue, it’s usually because of either Leo’s arrogance or Sayuri’s stubbornness. They’re so like-minded that they tend to but heads sometimes.

Chapter 1

Michelangelo smashed away at the buttons on his controller, tiny beads of sweat forming on his forehead as digitally fought against the evil video game orc, concentration blurring his surroundings. Raphael sat promptly behind him, on the couch, sipping on day old soda, spilling sarcastic remarks, "You suck at this game, I coulda beat this guy 5 minutes ago." Mikey rolled his eyes, delivering the final blow before the villainous orc fell over. "Oh yeah, that's how you do it," Mikey jumped up and wiggled around the living room, showing off his 'VICTORY' screen.

Leonardo sat quietly in his room, his little corner of the sewer. He softly hummed as he sat in his meditative state, breathing as deeply as his lungs would allow him. Donatello also sat silently in his makeshift lab, scribbling along on his notepad, complex equations that didn't make sense to anyone but him. Soft melodies drummed out of a radio by Donnie's side, barely loud enough to carry its sound out into the main living space.

Master Splinter has long been gone, a heavy slumber claiming him on a particularly cold day in New York. It still pulled at the turtles heartstrings, but they no longer cried streams at the very thought of their father. "Death is not permanent, for as long as you all remember me, and my teachings, do I live enterally." Leo repeated his father's words to him and his brothers, most days it remained as the subject of his meditations.

April and Casey had also moved along in their lives, in different ways of course. They had married and moved into a nice house in Manhattan, their careers in media and law enforcement had taken them further than what either of them would have ever imagined.

Life is good. That's what they all would say. Shredder had long been defeated. Life is good. The Krang and any other violent life force had long been exterminated on planet earth. Life is good. If you asked any of the turtles boys, they would all say, "Yeah, totally, life is good."

Life is boring. They were mutated turtles, 6 feet tall, dangerous in any range or capacity. If anything, some would say the most dangerous creatures on earth. Intelligent and overwhelming strong, armored and trained. There wasn't anything they couldn't do. Ironic, since there was literally nothing they could do. Living life, consisting of beating up pickpockets in the darkness of a trash riddled alley way, coming into their honestly odorous and pungent sewage home, to eat old freezer food, never to see the light of a nice sunny day in a New York park, was not living life.

But here they sat, almost 30 in age, and no prospects at ever joining a society. They had all come to terms with it, sorta. It still bothered Leonardo that he wouldn't ever get to see the rural waterfalls in Yosemite or Brazil, or feel the mist against his face with a bright rainbow painting the above sky. It still bothered Raphael that he'd never be able to spar with anyone else besides his brothers, that he would never feel the rise of an adrenaline rush at the threat of a new opponent. It still bothered Donatello that he would never be able to show off his scientific findings to the outside world, having to hide behind an alias online in odd forums to share his chemical reactions and formulas, but he would never win a Nobel Prize. It still bothered Michelangelo that every person he talked to online would never know his true form, and he would have to settle with the idea he would never dance with someone else, like in those cool hip hop YouTube videos, never feel the rhythm of a song in a studio.

It still bothers them.
