#that they'd go extinct in about 20 years

Actually I have more thoughts considering what you @immortalwithoutaname said that I just couldn't fit in a responce so I'm doing it here. In regards to my last post - https://www.tumblr.com/patriamrealm/737610093240139776/so-ive-been-playing-the-update-for-pokemon?source=share
Tumblr media
So you make very good points! Though I'm not entirely sure they'd be the most viable for the hisuian variants to be extinct extinct rather than just functionally extinct.
With cloning and fossil restoration, cloning has shown to not be the most feasible thing in the pokemon world, when it was done things went wrong and people didn't get the results they fully desired or they tampered to much, IE Mewtwo. Unless there is new information that I am lacking it cloning seems to very much be in it's infancy that few if any are willing to try.
Fossil restoration on the other hand, in one way it takes around 10,000 years for something to become fossilized and the events of legends arceus take place 300 ish years ago. That and every time it's done it results in pokemon winding up with a rock typing that they may or may not have had when their species was fully around.
Every single restored pokemon from fossils has been given a rock typing, EXCEPT in Galar with those poor pokemon put together wrong. But that is likely due to the botched restoration being done. When done correctly the pokemon wind up with a rock typing. We don't see that in the hisuian pokemon in the present. Basculigion is still ghost/water ect. Making fossil restoration unlikely as well.
NOW AS FOR DISTORTIONS! That is also a very good point but I also have a theory about how those function timeline wise. Distortions seem to be able to pop up any-when and anywhere. The any-when being most key to this theory.
I believe that distortions came and went in a bit of a wave starting slow and very infrequent about ohh let's go with 20 years before the rift above Mt. Coronet even opened up. Easy to simply not see especially if they were small and very unstable. Then they pick up a bit before the rift opens, people start to notice, it's like a warning.
Tumblr media
Then BOOM! The rift opens and you get distortions showing up near daily, sometimes more than once a day for 2 ish years. After the events of the game happen they start to slowly become more infrequent till they are near unnoticeable again within 20ish years.
Now why are there red distortion dashes close to present and far past on the timeline? That's because distortions go two ways! So Lets say the distortion on the far left is connected to one of the ones within the rift being open. It's more stable and big but it's a single one that lasts only a few minutes and frankly if anyone did see it they would likely not be sure it was real. And the one closer to the present is the same deal only let's say the one it is connected to is one of the very early distortions before the rift. Small and unstable. Easy to not see happen.
Tumblr media
Now the any-when and anywhere really come into play here. A distortion could show up well over a million years ago in far off Kanto and that one is connected back to one of the distortions from after the rift is closed. Next one seen could be Paldea 5,000 years ago.
For everywhere else and every other time period distortions would be extremely rare, some small and unstable others big and last minutes. The likelihood of even seeing one in a world with so much wilderness as the pokemon world would be a near nonexistent fraction of a percent.
Pokemon showing up in the distortions often wind up vanishing. Most people would not risk going in one if they did see it. And the chances of a distortion leaving behind even a single breeding pair that people of present day could use to try and bring back a species is even less likely than seeing a rift.
In the end, it is more feasible and likely that the hisuian pokemon, even in their decline were cared for by the native clans to Hisui/Sinnoh and there are likely conservation efforts to bring them back to the wild while currently they are functionally extinct but never were fully wiped off the planet.

Dalek Executioner Saar (mention of blood, gore and death)
Tumblr media
Saar was a human who used to be a friend of the doctors Companions. They would mysteriously disappear one day and they would go missing for 10 years. At the very beginning of those 10 years, he was put in a cell with a group and were soon chosen for experimentation. These experiments regarded new ways to quickly produce daleks in times of crisis or in mass extinction events. Not many people survived conversion, but saar was just one of the unlucky ones who survived.
Becoming a dalek is traumatizing enough, but during conversion his mind would become twisted beyond repair and all he could think about was killing. Once they were placed in a casing and evaluated to become a part of the ranks, he would begin his journey by being classed as a drone and treated like inferior shit due to their warped genes. He was not respected by other daleks and they were often pushed around more than other pure drones.
Saar would be placed in a low ranking squadron and go on missions rounding up people and other species who had surrendered during dalek invasion. It was not long before saar learned that the only respect he would be given was by other species due to fear...
9 years would pass and Saar would gain a promotion, obtaining the rank of executioner. He was given a new casing that was made with double bonded poly-carbide. While this new casing was much heavier and often used up more energy to move, It was much stronger than his previous shell and was able to deflect energy blasts with ease.
The 10th year would come and the doctor would meet saar again during the beginning of an invasion. The doctor found a brutal trail of blood and destruction that Saar had left behind and when they finally laid eyes on saar he was standing in front of a brutalized corpse. The doctor confronted the executioner and soon, they'd know the truth… horrified and stunned at what the Daleks had done, the doctor knew he couldn't be saved and ran from him.
Saar would manage to kidnap one of the doctor's Companions and hold them hostage in an old building. When the doctor found the companion, they where almost dead. Saar would ambush the doctor, but they where able to disorient him and flee. As the doctor ran from the executioner they took the time to set up an electromagnetic pulse. This pulse would stun him but just like any dedicated Dalek he would recover and immediately continue his relentless pursuit.
Saar would get close to the tardis, but once he got too close, an explosion would trigger and a piece of shrapnel hit him, leaving a good sized crack in his armor and injuring him. Once the doctor was gone, saar would resume his original mission and succeed, allowing him to earn his first squadron which numbered around 20 or 30 units.
With time, Saar's squadron would steadily grow larger until he obtained 5 personal saucers and over 8,000 units under his command. Saar would become one of the most powerful executioners in the dalek fleet. He had also acquired a taste for power and it slowly began to eat away at his mind until he became addicted to it...
Because of power addiction, Saar wanted to become a supreme with his own fleet, maximum control and freedom to do as he desires... Saar knows that there cannot be two supremes, so he begins to turn his own squadron against the current supreme until he has maximum control... Saar lures the doctor onto the mothership and confronts them, making them angry to the point where they blow up the fleet.
Saar pretends to mourn the losses of his fellow daleks and swears revenge as daleks burn around him, but at the last second, his loyalists activate a teleport which transmats him back to his personal ship. Saar then flees the ensuing destruction and returns to his squadron where he declares himself to be the new ruler of the daleks...

For Char | 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 11, 15, 19, 20, 21
Tumblr media
1. What is their color palette?
Tumblr media
2. What does your OCs handwriting look like?
Tumblr media
4. If your OC likes art, talk about which piece they would love best. Woman with a Parasol - Madame Monet and Her Son, 1875 - Claude Monet. Charlotte’s favorite painting. Some of Char’s earliest memories are of going with her mom to museums and sitting in front of Monets. Her mom was a huge fan of Monet and had a copy of this painting hanging in the living room, something Char had forgotten about until a family trip a few years ago. She has a copy of it hanging in her office now.
5. What character from myth or fairytale best represents them?Demeter. When Hades abducts her daughter, Demeter creates a world in which nothing grows and nearly causes the extinction of humanity. Enough said.
7. If your OC could meet any historical or past figure, whether in the real world or in their own canon lore, who would it be and why? She'd love to pick Coco Chanel's mind about fashion.
11. Who is your muse’s muse? (What or whom inspires/drives them?) Her parents. There isn’t a day that goes by that Char doesn’t think of them. She tries her best to be someone they’d be proud of.
15. What is a common misconception about your OC? (Alternatively, what do people assume about them which is either incorrect or misconstrued?) That she's outgoing and has a lot of friends. Most of the people Char meets at the store assume she's this super outgoing and social person. She's personable and can have a conversation with almost anyone, but at the same time she's very shy. It took her a few years to get to where she is now. When she first opened the store, she was distant and a little awkward with clients. She normally keeps to herself and doesn't strike up conversations with people. She has a lot of acquaintances; there are very few people that she considers to be her friends. Because she knows so many people, she frequently gets invited to large social gatherings. She'll go, but is usually pretty uncomfortable and only talks to a few people.
19. How would their life be different if they had never met their partner? I think her life would be completely different if she hadn't met Em. She met him at one of the lowest points in her life, one where she wasn't really talking to anybody. Em was one of the few people who wasn't put off by that and befriended her anyways. Eventually he was able to get her out of her shell. I don't think anyone else would've been able to do that at that time. Eventually, Em became a large source of comfort for her. Long before he was her partner, he was her best friend.
She's had other relationships; none of them provided the sense of comfort and safety that she feels when she's with Emmett. I'm not sure she would've married anyone other than him. It sounds cliche, but he's the only person who really gets her.
20. What was the moment at which they knew they were in love, or was it a slow buildup? Like I said in the last question, Em was the one to get her out of her shell. When they met, she didn't speak, but he didn't let it deter him. They used to walk to school together and Em used to talk to her about whatever random thing was on his mind that day. She spent a lot of nights alone because Erica was at school. Em would sometimes show up at her door with food and have dinner with her. After some time, she opened up and finally started talking to him. For awhile, he was her only friend.
They loved each other as friends for years, it wasn't until a few years after high school that they actually pursued a relationship. They were both a little awkward in the beginning stages of their relationship. It had been a few years since they'd been around each other on a regular basis. Once they got used to each other, it didn't take long for them both to realize how much they loved each other.

Went on the worst club night out this year last Saturday. Decided to go to the emo-goth club i frequent with one group of friends with another. Not our demographic at all. We are definitely the youngest people there, i recognise 2 or 3 songs at the most.
I've just stepped into the club and a white woman in her late 20's walks by, spots me and gives me a hug. I have no clue who this woman is. She yells to me over the music; "You're very attractive," She has to repeat it once before i get the message.
I nod and say; "Thank you."
She then asks me; "Where are you from?" I know what she means when she says this- but now she's pissed me off. I'm born and raised in the UK.
I tell her the name of the city my family rents in the suburb of.
She then asks; "What's your ethnicity?"
I tell her; "Indian."
She nods and says; "Well, you're really attractive," and walked away.
I know if I were white she would have just asked me my name.
My friends decide together to leave after around 1 hour. I told them i'd stay behind a little while longer.
I left 15 minutes after my friends and went to a Queer bar i'd been wanting to visit for a while. Had a couple of drinks, a lil dance. Mostly again older people- late 20's going on 30's. I walked away from that and sat outside the neighbouring Queerish club to rest a little while. Sat down at a free pillar opposite to two girls and a man and just rested.
They asked me to take photos of them, which I did, then one of them took photos of me cause I 'looked cool'- which made my night better. Got to chatting, turns out the girls were 23 and 24- MY PEOPLE!- and the guy was a very pretty, very gay man who looked their age, but turned out to be 36. He was the son of a Miss England, which explained his youthfulness. He used to be a model- turns out he studied Conservation as well, did his thesis on the wild dogs of South Africa. Drunkenly lamenting on their extinction in areas he'd written about. When the conversation began to stale, I took my leave, wishing them a good night.
Went to my friend who was doing their last ever shift at the pub they'd been working at. They were closing up for the night, gave them a hug, told them congrats and that we'd meet properly soon, then headed home.

"Not sure if you’ll know anything about this but it’s worth a shot! So, in my conservation bio class today, we got to the topic of animals being extinct and the eastern mountain lion. I go to college in the mountains but according to my teacher many locals claim to have seen mountain lions and even a student has seen one. I was wondering, even if there is a small population of eastern mountain lions, would they only be taken off the extinct list only after proper evidence was given and they’re shown to be able to grow or is it likely a species like that is too small to come back from extinction?"
If it was able to be definitively proved that animals in the eastern mountain lion subspecies were still alive today, they'd no longer be considered extinct. That's all that goes into that decision. That doesn't mean they'd inherently have any protections under federal law or anything, however, because as an extinct subspecies they were delisted from the Endangered Species Act in 2018.
An analysis of over 100 credible studies covering over 100 years led US Fish and Wildlife to determine that eastern mountain lions have probably been extinct for decades - plausibly since before the Endangered Species Act was even passed. Here's their statement on what they found from a media release sent out in 2018 when the official de-listing occurred: "Accounts suggest that most eastern cougars disappeared in the 1800s, killed out of fear for human and livestock safety and were victims of massive deforestation and overharvesting of white-tailed deer, the cougar’s primary prey. The last records of eastern cougars are believed to be from Maine (1938) and New Brunswick (1932)"
But! That doesn't mean the reports of local cougars sightings are incorrect! (Although, they can be, people do tend to see smaller wildcats and immediately think mountain lion). Here's the thing: western cougar populations are recovering very well, and so a lot of documented cougar sightings in the eastern part of North America are thought to be western cougars dispersing eastward. There's good data for this in peer-reviewed studies, such as this one discussing the recolonization of southwest Saskatchewan and southeast Alberta from 2015.
Probably the most notable example of this long-range dispersal was a young male cougar who was hit by a car in Connecticut, of all places, in 2011. That's so far east of what was thought to be their current range that it was pretty widely assumed the cat had to be an escaped exotic pet. But no! Camera trap data confirmed that the same individual had been seen making his long trek, and genetic analysis confirmed that he was originally from the Black Hills population in North Dakota.
Tumblr media
(Photo source)
A lot of cougar sightings in the Midwest and points further east are - as with the 2011 cougar - assumed by the media to be escaped captive animals. A couple of years ago I analyzed the last 20 years of publicly available data from advocacy orgs that track big cat escapes and attacks, and a large percentage of the sightings of loose cougars seemed likely to be dispersed wild animals: they didn't fit the patterns you see around captive exotic pet escapes nor did the cats behave like animals habituated to people, they almost always occurred in suburban developments that were situated right next to large patches of open land and/or protected areas, and they were generally within the geographic areas where dispersal has been increasingly documented. Most supposed cougars were seen once in passing, or only a few times, and generally never were a nuisance enough to be caught or killed (excepting the ones hunting domestic animals or the ones that got hit by cars). In some cases, it was really obvious they were wild: there was one incident in McGregor, MN in 2001 where a female cougar was found attacking a dog in a suburb right next to a wildlife preserve, and two very young cubs were sighted in the area a few days later. A lot of times, local wildlife officials couldn't confirm any formal reintroductions of cougars into the area and/or referred to historical data for eastern cougar sightings when discussing the most recent sightings of wild cats in the area - so with that ruled out by the easily accessible local experts, local media defaulted to "probably a pet."
Over the years, I think the general awareness that cougars are dispersing farther east has become somewhat more common due to major outlets like the New York Times covering stories like the 2011 dispersal. But as you mentioned, on a community level, it's still sort of like a cryptid sighting! People know that cougars don't exist outside of western North America and Florida anymore, so why do they keep seeing them?
So no, unfortunately, it's pretty unlikely Eastern mountain lions are extant at this point - but that doesn't mean that other mountain lions aren't expanding into the lands they used to roam.

Ruby and Kensi.
Let's have some character babble about them this Christmas morning.
Ruby and Kensi both have pacts with Grenth which have given them what looks to be immortality (it's not, they can still die, just not conventionally).
Kensi was born around 1045 AE, born and raised in Ascalon. She was originally a warrior named Zoe, then a ritualist called Alysia. She was the head of the family, making decisions for the group from childhood up until the titans were eradicated from the surface of Tyria.
Ruby was born around 1052 AE, born in Ascalon but her mother took her and her twin sister Kiz to the Maguuma jungle. They lived a very simple life and their mother was basically a swamp witch / shaman. They'd trade with passing merchants and kept themselves to themselves learning various forms of magic. Kiz focused on elemental magic, where Ruby focused on Necromancy with a little bit of Mesmer thrown in for good measure.
Ruby's pact with Grenth involves her staying on Tyria to ensure the lineage of the Fae family. Putting them into key positions into Tyria's future to make sure certain events go ahead. Ruby has kept the same appearance and youth this whole time. She doesn't hold the gift of prophecy herself, but knows her way around scrying devices. She'll tend to only stay in a place for 20 years or so, then leave. If she has to return to somewhere she's already been she just passes herself off as a younger relative to others. "Oh yeah, a lot of people say I look like my mother / aunt / cousin".
Ruby's part of the deal is unknown as this point. (cos I have no idea. lol)
Kensi's pact with Grenth involves her leaving the Mists to aid the Fae family in times of crisis. While individuals in the family have had hardships over the years, it's only in times when extinction to the line is probable that she will come back to Tyria. She has plenty of stuff she can do in the Mists. Each time she comes back she takes on a new appearance completely. She doesn't have the same essence of youth that Ruby has, and she will get old if she stays out of the Mists. Back in the Mists everything can and does change.
Kensi's part of the deal is that she brings lost souls to the Underworld to be judged. Ones who get away, ones who try and cheat death. She's also spent a considerable time in the Underworld as a Rift Warden, and some time as the Reaper of the Forgotten Vale. So she's already earned a lot of good girl points with the man in charge to go on extended trips to look after the family.

Roasting Myself
Quick note:
Okay so bc I'm writing this on my phone, I can't take a photo of the document history to show you the stupidness. I apologise for that, but just try to imagine the fricken like... Stupidness.
Edit: The original version is on Wattpad still so nvm I'll be adding both Wattpad and Google Doc screenshots, but I did not have as many dates on Wattpad so only for some sections will I use Wattpad.
Edit: My photos keep going to the bottom. Idfk what to do whatever I hate Tumblr with a burning passion.
~~~~
So, I gotta vent about my stupidity.
Okay so the time frame I set back in 7th grade for this book idea I have is completely stupid. What I wrote didn't make any actual sense because I contradicted it. Which makes sense, because I was stupid. But doesn't, because now that I'm older, I should've caught it.
The story is called 3044(Destined Stars). I definitely stole that last part from something. I thought it was the game Mystic Messenger but it's not. The more I think about it, the more it seem like it though.
The problem is that with how far away 3044 is, it doesn't even make sense for humans to be how they are then, or even be alive tbh. I'm pretty sure they'll be extinct by then. I don't even know big we'll last 200 more years tbh. Or even 50.
Another problem, is I still do that thing where I fucking forget there's a bunch of numbers in between and skip up. So basically, with how I write the dates, I made the years really far apart with the dates and shit. Like REAAALLLLY. Like from being 10-ish years apart to skipping ahead nearly 1,000. Because I am a dumbass and didn't think "Wow this doesn't make any effing sense. This makes some of your events very insignificant because of evolution, and your characters old as dinosaurs."
(But I'm just now remembering I did day Humans live longer, which, could be taken to interpretation but besides the point.)
To better understand:
I literally had the dates like 2070, 2080, 2090, to then, 3000, 3010, 3015, 3025.
Like... That jump was so fucking huge but I didn't realise.
But because I was attached to the makeshift title I gave it, because it came from my friend's favorite number (but because I have issues with flipping numbers I found out was wrong later in after naming the story. I have still kept it that number though even years after),
Instead of doing the easy thing, I wrote in the stupidest, most confusing, complicated thing ever.
Tumblr media
And then, after reading through my dates again and actually doing the math, it was like "Wait a second, this doesn't make any sense because this event started before this character (Hyacinth) was born, but after this one (Aleya) was two years old" or something like that. Idk. Like... It's wonky because my characters are certain ages in the story, but, by the date I set things, they happen waaaay too before they were born which would mean they'd stop mattering so much.
But thankfully, I thought recently, why don't I just f-ing make the dates that date? What's the reason for all of the complicated stuff?
(Also, I think I was gonna change the date again which is why it still makes no sense.)
( But then something happened. Idk. I honestly might bring the ages down again bc it makes sense. Because... The time still doesn't make sense because I'd have to age Hyacinth up.)
Generally, I just placed some events out of sequence. Like, I said space cities finished construction before they even started building them. Idk, it was a fucking mess and one of the first things I wrote confused me a lot because I was like "Did I delete something?"
It also made Aleya reaaaally older than Hyacinth because I set a significant date in her birth 15 years before the date of the story so it either
Aleya is 24 and Hyacinth is 20. It was 18 and 21 before,
I just- Oh my God. So, I'm deleting that, and going to make it better. Also I accidentally made the Earth 3044 years old, when, that's absurd. I said the Earth aged faster in that Universe, but that's too fast. Like- I just- wtf?
But the year is also 3044.7b2? Is that for the universe? See it just doesn't make sense. Idk how it made sense in my head. The Earth is 3044 years old but the Earth is not the age of the universe right now so why would the Earth be the age of the universe unless the Universe reset itself entirely and made everything come back at the same time?
And then I said that after that war, the first alien race I talked about plus some other planets, created a treated together.
Tumblr media
I think I remember that at first a lot of planets were sucked into a black hole but spit out and made again but faster? Idk. It's so confusing.
(That's when I wrote it on Wattpad and how it was before the rewrite below)
Then there is this dumb contradictory mistake I made again because I said a certain race of aliens with a very awful name was first to contact the Earth at a certain time and helped them and create a treaty,
Tumblr media
It's just so messed up and it's because I:
1) Didn't check some of my SEVENTH GRADE WRITING EVEN THOUGH IM IN NINTH NOW,
However I then wrote a different one with a less awful name did before that and went to war with them. As seen above and below.
2) Didn't check my Math, and-
Also apparently the whole story is being told but a space child who created Earth by accident and has grown find if her creation. Also one of the things I changed that made it complicated was saying that 3044 was the number of times Earth restarted. But I forgot that part because I constantly skim over that part.
3) Am still writing it in a bad Tumblr/Wattpad fanfic manner instead of a genuinely good writer pov.
Like... It's genuinely so bad that idk how it didn't click in until now. Maybe it's because after watching a nearly 2hr video about how bad Yandere Simulator and Yandere Dev is, and then two reviews of Onision's books I've already seen, I began to be very afraid of being on the same level as them in terrible production of anything.
I'm going to to fix this and re-plot it and then re-writes it because this is horrible, even for a first draft.
My incompetence a m a z e s me.
My understanding of math scares me.
