glad u like it :) I don't have as much time to write fanfic these days but here's a section from the part 8 draft.

The view from Wada’s office is of tall, glass covered structures and what must be a train track looping around them. The vehicles that zip along the tracks travel at speeds far surpassing similar technologies available in the Land of Snow. In the Land of Snow the chakra-rich atmosphere allowed the trains to run on a mix of chakra and electricity. It was a combination prone to overheating, making it only viable in cold climates according to Konoha’s research facilities. Kakashi hadn’t cared enough to follow up on it after delivering the initial intel.

It was something to look into. How enough electricity was generated to power something like it without chakra might be worth investigating. It was obviously more efficient that Konoha’s system.

“Hatake?”

Kakashi shifts his gaze from the window to Wada.

“Hatake,” Wada crosses his arms, pushing back on his chair so he rolls out from behind his desk, “Are you listening? If you’re tired, we can have this conversation tomorrow.”

“Personal information is needed for a residency application. We are about to run through my diagnosis and tests results,” Kakashi idly summarises. He straightens ever so slightly from his slumped position, staring wistfully out at the city, elbow propped up against the arm of his wheelchair.

“I would like to hear what the quirk specialist has to say,” Kakashi adds, trying to inject a little enthusiasm into his voice so he’s not immediately wheeled back to his room for another weeks rest. “Please call me Kakashi,” he throws in.

“Yes. Yes. Kakashi then.” Wada waves away the correction, “I’m going to need more than a name if you want any further aid from the City. After your discharge you’ll be high and dry on the streets at this rate. Don’t think I don’t see you trying to avoid the topic.”

Wada’s irritation has Kakashi smiling for good measure, turning to away from the window. Wada continues talking with a sigh of mild frustration, “This is complicated. So far, you’re being treated under Hou’s Collateral Damage Scheme which would usually extend to relocation, occupation support, and asset recovery. However… as the investigation into the attack on your person hasn’t been linked it to any credible Villain activity, you’ll need to be a resident of Japan to receive further support.”

Wada frowns at him, “That’s a problem seeing we see can’t find your records and there’s nothing on the Registry.”

“Hmmm,”

“You have no birth certificate, citizenship information, school records, place of residence, career history or passport,” Wada lists, “You walk out of hospital like this and you’ll be jobless and on the streets in no time. I need to get this sorted now while you still have access to the hospital’s resources.”

There is another pause where a reply would usually go. Kakashi finally lets his full attention sit squarely on Wada, taking in his mildly irritated expression, eyebrows drawn together, slight frown, leaning forward, arms lose. He habitably scans for deception.

“Why.” Kakashi finaly asks, voice dropping flat. The medical attention he could understand. Doctor Wada was being paid by the hospital to give him medical care because of its poor patient vetting. This help wasn’t medical attention. Kakashi wasn’t Wada’s friend, ally, or family member. He doesn’t have ties to the man outside of being his patient and he knows Wada doesn’t pay this much attention to his other patients.

Wada continues moving from vaguely annoyed to openly exasperated, huffing, “If we don’t do this now, you’ll find it hard to rent, apply for jobs, open bank accounts, and all manner of things.”

“Why all the extra help? I’m sure I would be fine on my own,” Kakashi must clarify because Wada has obviously misunderstood his question.

“Humph.” Wada grunts, “Most of my patients have relatives and friends visiting every few days and aren’t missing all their personal records. Helping people isn’t just for the Heroes you know. Us regular people like to give it a go every now and then as well.”

Kakashi stares as the man gives a resolute nod like he had given a valid answer Kakashi’s question. What did being a Hero have to do with anything?

“I see.” He really didn’t. This world was so strange.

“Unfortunately, I don’t have anything else to share.” Kakashi repeats. It was probably the most truthful he has been since waking. Kakashi has no further information for Wada even if the man’s intentions were benign.

“Yes, very unfortunate,” Wada sounds ever so slightly disappointed, “unfortunate for you. I’m not a miracle worker. You’re going to have issues with this lack of records.” He rolls back behind his desk, yanking out a stack of paper held together with thick metal clips. As he shifts objects on the desk to clear space, Wada continues, “I might be able to get you a job interview with a friend of mine and I might be able to get you into some city subsidized housing. But that’s an iffy might…all I can promise.”

Never mind that Kakashi hasn’t asked for anything let alone help with his records since his arrival.

“…thank you…your efforts are appreciated.” A ‘thank you’ would be all the man would get from Kakashi.

Wada slaps the stack of paper down on the desk flipping it Kakashi’s direction and sliding across towards him. “You can show your appreciation by paying attention. These medical records are the only thing we do have at the moment.”

Kakashi examines the booklet, raising a questioning eyebrow.

“This is you’re recovery plan. I took the liberty of printing it out for you. Though with your quirk it’ll probably be a waste of paper.” Wada follows the sentence up with a quick, “Once you’re cleared to use it. Which you’re currently not. Don’t even think about it.”

Kakashi raises a hand in a loose calming motion.

“…and on the topic of your quirk….” Wada fusses around, patting himself down muttering, “Where is it. I swear if I lose another pen…Ah.” He pulls out a pen, leaning forward to scribble out a line of numbers and letters.

“You’re Registry ID. Won’t be for active for another week at least. But, once it is, if anyone gives you trouble for using your quirk in public you can tell them to go look up your file. I sent all your information off to be assessed and your quirk is probably going to be registered as ‘passive biological’ which is an automatic Licence Waiver if I’m remembering my law correctly.”

“Don’t quote me on that. I’m a doctor, not a legal professional. And just because you can use it, doesn’t mean you should. High-Stress quirks need to be carefully managed.”

Wada reaches over and flips the booklet open, tapping the page.

“Your quirk puts a huge strain on your brain. Specifically, it strains your memory and vision processing centres. The expert opinion is that your regenerative factor has naturally evolved to offset this physical stress.” Wada hums, pausing in his explanation to check that Kakashi is following. “Unfortunately, even with this mutation your quirk is maladaptive at best and actively destructive at worst.”

Kakashi glances at the page Wada is scribbling on. It has a diagram of a brain with serval areas now circled in blue pen ink.

“See this red area here. This means high activity. And see how it how increases when your quirk is active.” Wada flips the page, “And then activity in these outer sections drops to practically zero? None of this is good in the long term.”

Wada clears his throat, “A lot of your body’s resources are being devoted to vision and memory processing and it has subsequently led to enlargement and increased activity in these areas. This sort of imbalance in brain activity is also linked to a predisposition to depression, paranoia, anxiety, chronic stress and panic disorders. You’ll need to keep an eye on this. I have noted it in your Registry file and recommended yearly quirk assessments. I have also taken the liberty of scheduling some initial appointments with a psychologist at Hosu General,”

All this sounds somewhat familiar. He thinks in he has heard similar warnings about the Sharingan and dōjutsu users being more prone to paranoia and typically having better base reflexes than those without eye-related bloodlines.

Honestly, with the rate Uchiha went insane, is didn't surprise him that the Sharingan messed with the brain in other ways. He always had just chalked it up to the unpleasantness of retaining perfect memories of comrades dying gruesomely.

Of course, he had never hung around the hospital long enough to get a proper diagnosis beyond an understanding that he should keep use to a minimum. The Uchiha had had their own medical centres for Sharingan-related ailments which disappeared with the clan. Not like knowing meant much in the long run. Better to overuse it and suffer hypothetical consequences than underuse it and watch his allies die..

OK SO I HAVE A VERY COOL CONCEPT FOR AN IAHB DATING SIM!, (TW: BULLYING, SUICIDE, SH AND OTHER TRIGGERING TOPICS)

Its gonna be like the same vibes as ddlc (doki doki literature club) but leave out the 4th wall part

This will obviously be based off the coraverse au, so expect sherwin to be kinda deppresed here :( (so make sure not to be emotionally attached to him when u play the sim)

basically ur gonna be in the perspective of jon (the mc for this) and you can change ur name into ur preffered one, but sher will still see you as jonathan.

Plot: Basically the aftermath in the film, you find out sherwin has this big crush on you and you guys become friends at the moment, cuz you also have feelings for sherwin, but youre still not sure. You guys will experince studying at Newgate everyday until graduation (irl will take 4-5 hours) (just like ddlc) and ofc theres some dark n dreppresjng stuff here:

You will experience bullying from the other students, mainly from Sunny. And Sherwin will share to you his lifestory. You will be able to go to his house and meet auntie fiona. You will also meet new friends along w/ sherwin!! (Who are my ocs and my friend’s oc) Also in this, Sherwin will kinda be suicidal (kinda like sayori if u know ddlc) BASICALLY TO SUM IT UP: You will be experiencing and dating coraverse sherwin in the perspective as coraverse jonathan (also coraverse jonathan post is coming soon i promise).

Since you are playing as Jon, you will also go back to your home to meet with your dad. (Sometimes) but mostly, you will hang out sith the maids in your mansion. You will also do things that jonathan does on the daily like studying n stuff

Goal of the game: Try to make sure you graduate (and you date) with Sherwin and your friends and live a happily ever after ending <3

Good ending: Achive the goal of the game

Bad ending: Sherwin decided that he ends his life. And you try to move on without him and continue life like life forces you to.

Secret ending: You get high honors along with sherwin and you guys get a happy grad pic with your certificates and stuff!! Your dad will also be there on your graduation and he will apologize to you, (i promise when i release the coraverse jon post, this will all make sense) for all the things he’s done and you guys try to rebuild your father son relationship there.

How to know if youre getting the bad ending? You will notice that sherwin is giving you his stuff for free, and you might accidentally see his scars on his arms and you try to convince him not to end it all, but he doesent listen to you. (This will be more sadder when you were able to date him). Good ending? You will see he is ACTUALLY improving in school and he is becoming happier. (This ending will have more sherwithan moments!!! <3)

DONT WORRY THERE WILL BE ALOT OF SHERWITHAN MOMENTS!!!!! <33

(but please for the love of everything’s that pure, DO NOT GET EMOTIONALLY ATTACHED TO SHERWIN YOU WILL CRY FOR DAYS IF YOU DO!!!)

ahhhh you guys sending ask makes me feel like this blog isn’t completely flopping XD but I’m on thanksgiving break so you guys can send anything you want and I’ll see them asap this time around <33

I miss writing too :( I just picked up new fixations so I haven’t really been drawn into kpop that much in general + this semester has been a bit hard to get used to since I’m taking accelerated courses (overachiever things!) so I get sm assignments due in a week (literally had 10-13 assignments due just last week 😵‍💫) and when I get free time I don’t have it in me to participate in time consuming hobbies 😞 I’m also trying to be a productive adult and been looking into internships, certifications, and jobs before I graduate once again (overachiever things— again).

like I said earlier, I got into new hobbies and if you read don’t blame the love cats, football has been one but heavily keeping up with f1 this entire year. the season is over this weekend, a lil sad about it bc I do look forward towards it despite ending up disappointed or angry— the occasional celebration here and there (checo and charles fan so if you follow you can just imagine… I also like max and oscar just fyi) the good thing is that checo ended up as 2nd in the wdc so that’s good for me, hoping 2024 treats him, charles, and oscar better— max already has all the luck in the world, pooks doesn’t need mine. so given sports has been taking all my attention you can blame it for my lack of fics but it’s not like I posted so many before this fixation lmfao 😝

ramble over, I do luv talking a lot about myself but yeah, im free this week guys! I won’t neglect yall and I’ll try to write something or at least finish my wpi!! there’s this one series I’ve been trying to post since summer but the lack of motivation has been killing me lmfaoo I’ve redone the cover/banner art for it so many times as a form of procrastination, yall pray I can at least upload one of the fics from the series soon </3

Just Give Her the Spotlight - The Marvelous Mrs. Miller By Constance Cherise

In 1987 at the age of 64, legendary tap dancer Ann Miller performed “Shakin’ the Blues Away” on the television special Happy 100th Birthday, Hollywood. In 1988, Miller performed a medley from the nine-year running production “Sugar Babies” on the Palladium stage along with Mickey Rooney, and in 1989 she performed the tap dance routine from 42ND STREET (‘33) for the Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park Grand Opening television special.

While recently watching these productions, I feared that I was going to witness a frail elderly woman, who was still convinced she “had it,” either embarrass or hurt herself. Thankfully, my future 64-year-old self is encouraged to say I was utterly wrong.

I watched each performance with unblinking eyes, in complete shock and jaw-dropping disbelief. Generally, mature performers are surrounded by dancers and ornamentation as distraction, while the older dancer waves their arms and kick their feet a time or two then get whisked off stage. Not so with Ann Miller. It’s true, a bevy of tap dancers joins her, but they are only for Broadway effect. She owns every performance, complete with her rapid-fire footwork and powerful Broadway belt (and when I state the term “belt,” I do not mean she sang well for her age, I mean “where did that voice come from Ethel Merman belt”). Miller claimed she never had to practice vocalizing, that her power came naturally. I suppose being used to many stars that were dubbed, I never questioned whether Miller’s voice was actually being used during her performances. I was too busy dissecting her dazzling costumes, lavish sets and trying to figure out how she could possibly execute gun-machine taps and appear as if her feet did not leave the ground.

Houston-born Johnnie Lucille Collier (her father anticipated a boy) aka Ann Miller was enrolled in dance school from the age of six. And, after confronting her philandering father who was caught red-handed with a nude woman in his bed, Miller and her mother of Cherokee descent, Clara, moved to California.

The naturally adept Miller eventually won a contest where she appeared for two weeks at the Orpheum Theatre. At 13 years old while performing at a supper club, Miller was discovered by talent scout Benny Rubin and comedienne Lucille Ball, who suggested she test with RKO. Required to prove her age, Miller enlisted her father, a criminal lawyer whose clients included Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker (yes, that Bonnie and Clyde), to provide a false birth certificate stating she was 18 years old. As she began quite young in films, her mother Clara was her constant companion and protector, a memory that Miller would speak fondly of. The two remained close until Clara’s passing. Miller worked for multiple studios including RKO, Columbia and MGM, toured with major Broadway productions and had numerous television appearances.

Her debut was an uncredited role in ANNE OF GREEN GABLES (‘34). She performed on Broadway at age 16, and after a two-year stint she returned to Hollywood. She mainly appeared in B films until she auditioned for MGM’s EASTER PARADE (‘48), where she performed the entertaining number “Shaking the Blues Away.” In an interview with Robert Osborne, Miller admits to performing the number in a brace, due to her former husband’s physical abuse where in a drunken rage, he threw her down a flight of stairs breaking her back. Miller, who was nine months pregnant at the time, gave birth to her daughter, who tragically survived for only a few days.

A believer in the metaphysical, Miller wrote a book, Tapping Into the Force, about what she concluded were her psychic gifts. She would recall during the opening night of “Sugar Babies” in New York while standing alongside Rooney: "In the middle of the number, I felt this force hit me! It almost knocked the breath out of me. All of a sudden I started singing like I'd never sung before!” When returning backstage, her earring, which was securely fastened, fell from her ear landing near a piece of scenery with the letters “J-U-D.” Miller stated, “This inner voice I have said...Ann it's me, Judy!” In explaining her supernatural experience to Rooney, Miller revealed to Rooney, "Judy was on the stage with us tonight,” to which Rooney replied…“I know it.”

Big hair jokes aside, there really is something absolutely adorable about Miller that is hard to place your finger on. Beams of light still seemed to emanate from her face in her elder years. Not only was she the consummate professional, exuberant and entertaining with the mind of a steel trap, she was an essential keeper of the flame of all things Golden Age.

Her performances in KISS ME KATE (‘53), EASTER PARADE (‘48), LOVELY TO LOOK AT (‘52) and HIT THE DECK (‘55) were showstoppers, and those are only from her MGM years. Even her Stan Freberg directed Great American Soup commercial was one-minute and three-seconds of camp genius. If you are a musical fan and have not seen this commercial, stop reading now and look it up...don’t worry, I’ll wait. The way she rips her apron off to reveal her glittering costume as if she has been desperately awaiting this chance for her entire life, the overwhelming expression of sheer unadulterated rapture on her face, how she tosses her top hat with dynamic gusto, performing her signature twirls returning to the set of the kitchen— there is even a touch of Busby Berkeley for good measure. It simply could not be more gloriously MGM-musical perfect.

Usually, I have no issue detailing my favorite performances, however, with Miller I simply cannot. Each performance is consistently perfect and sure-footed with precise accuracy—it's almost impossible to choose one over another. Although she was not a Hollywood leading lady, she was showbiz through and through. Miller did, however, state in a 1990 interview with Bob Thomas, “Sugar Babies gave me the stardom that my soul kind of yearned for.'' If you watch her in interviews and her performances, you will find there is no line of delineation. Miller was a willing, fully assembled readymade pre-packaged star born for the spotlight. From her earliest performance to her last, one thing is resoundingly true—Ann Miller was not created for Tinseltown, Tinseltown was created for Ann Miller.

New Orleans was all Lowell had ever known. Aside from only a few out of state vacations, the city had always been home. And honestly, growing up in Nola meant Lowell got the best of the both worlds: big city living with a small town feel thanks to the neighborhoods and wards of Nola. Families on their street were friendly and nosy, and honestly Lowell’s mom, Birdie, didn’t mind at all because one, she had nothing to hide, and two, was more than happy that when other people learned of her situation -- a widowed and working single mom -- they were more than willing to help out. Which was how instead of becoming a latchkey kid, between after school hours and school vacation, Lowell became a surrogate member of more than a few neighboring families. And while Birdie wished she had been able to make it home from the hospital for more dinners, she was always home in time to sit down at the kitchen table and help Lowell struggle through his assigned school work.

The story was always the same each new school year, with every parent-teacher conference and IEP meeting. Lowell was always a pleasure to have in class, but he was either struggling with math or reading comprehension or his overall attention was lacking. But while Lowell and the general classroom weren’t on the best of terms, he excelled in other areas. Given his size and the fact that he towered over most of his classmates, it wasn’t shocking when the gym teacher had glowing remarks and commented that Lowell’s abilities were well beyond his years, but Birdie was surprised to learn from the music teacher that her son was both attentive and eager to learn in her class, too. After informing Lowell that participation in extracurriculars was dependent upon remaining in good academic standing, sports and music became an award system of sorts. It also didn’t hurt that burning through energy on the field or court, or banging it out with his drums meant that Lowell was less inclined to take out his frustrations of not understanding a word problem or summary question on a kitchen chair or wall.

The summer before eighth grade Lowell started to notice that his mom was coming home early from shifts now and again, getting gussied up, and leaving him with instructions for cooking frozen pizza or bagel bites while she went out. She was always home in time to look over homework and make sure Lowell was in bed on time, so Lowell never wondered too hard about it. Until the day she came home and said they’d be having a guest for dinner. Lowell met whom would become his step-dad that night. Two weeks later he met whom would become his step-sister. And before the start of the new school year, but after a small ceremony in the backyard, the new family had packed up all their belongings to move nearly 2000 miles up north. Chuck, an anesthesiologist, had a new job at Kane-Russell Memorial in Somerton, and there was no doubt that he could pull strings and get Birdie on the RN rotation there, too.

While having a new family should have been the biggest change in Lowell’s life, everything about Maine was so different from Louisiana. Somedays it felt like Lowell was waking up in a whole new country, especially with his accent and missing his favorite local foods. But eventually school started and Lowell fell back into familiar routines of sports, music, and school work, and soon enough it wasn’t so scary putting roots down in a new place with a new family.

By the time Lowell graduated high school he had a scholarship for Somerton U. Even though he could have lived at home, he lived on-campus to have the full college experience, which also included playing as 4-year starter Seahorse on the basketball team. Lowell might have graduated with a social sciences degree, but after their team bus came upon an accident one winter night and Lowell witnessed firsthand everything the emergency response squads were doing to not only save people, but just to calm their nerves, he sort of felt like maybe he had a found something that could be a good fit for him. Lowell was already working towards his EMT certification when he graduated, and after moving back home began to apply to the Somerton firehouse. Lowell’s been part of the Somerton Fire, Rescue, and EMT Services family for ten years now and loves that every day is a bit of a new adventure. When he’s not working, Lowell’s playing drums in a cover band that sometimes performs at On the Rocks or hanging out with dog, Gus.
