Moments from "The Chosen" that live rent free in my head:
• Season two: John the Baptist excitingly screaming "yeah!" when Jesus cast a demon from Caleb.
• Season two: "The Son of Man- that's Me, btw."
• Season two: Simon P and Andrew's argument ("My little brother whom I love very much?")
• Season two: Phillip's introduction was the best.
• Season three: BIG AND LITTLE JAMES HUGGED ON THEIR 2 BY 2 MISSION AND BIG JAMES HAD TO PICK LIL' JAMES UP BECAUSE HE'S SO SMALL.
• Season three: Angry Phillip.
• Season three: When the man broke into Andrew's flat. ("Knock next time!")
• Season three: When Simon P told Nathaniel and Z to be quite.
• Season three: The Sons of Thunder being jealous of each other because of Thomas.
• Season two/three: Thomas asked Ramah to marry him???
• Season one: "I'm not exactly jumping of out my sandals because Creepy John pointed at someone!"
• Season one: When Andrew got that huge coat for Jesus ("I think I could fit all of you in here with Me.")
• Season two/three: Jesus telling John (and Little James I'm pretty sure?) that He loved them.
• Seasons two and three: Jesus calling His disciples by their nicknames.
• Season two: Simon P introducing the others to Simon Z ("That's Nathaniel, he says what first comes to his mind, so don't be offended.")
• Season two: The Son's of Thunder and the Son's of Jonah competing to see who goes fishing. (Sore loser Andrew lol)

If I had a nickel for every time a piece of Biblical onscreen fiction depicted Simon Peter with an emotional support Roman friend/frenemy, I'd have two nickels
Which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice

I can't go to cinema but i'm too curious..what happened in the three episodes of The Chosen?
hi! i'd be happy to share what happens but because of spoilers for other people, i'll keep it kinda vague. feel free to message me though if you want to know everything lol
the first episode was centered on john the baptist and if you saw any of the trailers then well. you know what happened. the second was focused more on simon peter and his name change and his dynamic with matthew. it was probably my favorite of the three. and the third highlighted thomas and ramah pretty significantly. there was a content warning for violent images and honestly i thought it was more jarring than violent but to each their own. definitely just prepare yourself though - i was shocked.

They did it.
They did a compilation of My son.
Go watch it and SEE how good this show is at making it's characters.
Tumblr media
They show well his main conflicts as a disciple and as a person whose hated by his own people, Even his own family.
And it shows the beauty of it's music and just- everything about this is great.

The fact that the two sneak peeks we've had of season 4 so far are "Jesus is STRESSED and UPSET" is really setting the tone huh

What would you have thought if the writers had decided, "Let's write the most sympathetic and likeable version of Judas ever! That would make the moment when he hangs himself even more gut wrenching to the audience!"? What would you have thought if Judas had been the one to lose a loved one instead of Thomas? And Judas' can't seem to find any answers about why Jesus raised Lazarus but not his sister, from Jesus? And Judas also can't find any much comfort from the other disciples, then Jesus can only sob and let things play out because scripture must be fulfilled. Then the priests seemingly try to comfort Judas by helping out his sister's family, and Judas decides to hand Jesus over because he thinks if Jesus is in a rough situation, He'll finally give out some proper answers. Then when Judas bumps into the other disciples, they say that he should have died instead of Jesus.
See, this is what I thought they were going to do! But nooo, they squandered the dead loved one trope on Thomas, even though he was still going to be Doubting Thomas whether or not Ramah died, so it was kind of pointless. Instead we have this weird thing about Judas "just not getting" Jesus.

The Chosen, Season 3 Episode 1 Thoughts
(I'm sure I had more thoughts than this, but also it's been a few days since I watched it, lol. Also spoilers beyond this point.)
Barnaby being the #1 Thomas/Ramah shipper. Do we have a ship name for them yet? We need a ship name, lol. Seriously, I was laughing so hard I had to pause it.
Thomas being so darn adorably awkward. Got a little second-hand embarrassment there, but I love him so much.
Gaius and Atticus. Gaius was like "gaius.exe has stopped. please reboot" and I can't wait to see what comes of this.
JOANNA
Andrew. He always reminds of an excitable puppy and this episode, with the prospect of seeing John again, was no exception, lol.
On that note, Andrew and John and Joanna in the prison. Fabulous. Joanna obviously being so Confused by Jesus but also being like "hm yes I want to give you Things anyway" and John telling Andrew "you wanna help me? go follow Jesus and focus on Him" was just *chef's kiss"*
While we're on Andrew, his apology to Mary at the end?? asdfghlk; Also such a mood. "I have a lot of things to work on." Don't we all, don't we all.
Judas, man. I love so, so much how relatable they are making him. Like, yeah, we know what happens with him, but when Jesus says that someone is going to betray him, everyone is asking "is it me?" No one just turns and accuses Judas, ya know? So, like, yeah. I love him a lot. ANyway.
Judas and his mint plant. Very relatable. Can't let the plant die. Noooo. Nope. Unacceptable.
The housing arrangements. All of them are just. I can't even. Especially Simon and Eden. Poor them. "I'll put a pillow over my head" probably made me laugh more than it should have. (The absolute horror on Eden's face...) 😂
And then Matthew. (He just wanted to keep learning, dang it!)
Being completely lost when Jesus sent them all home for a while. Because he doesn't have a place to go back to. Broke my heart, man.
AND THAT ENDING ASDFGHJKL; (Broke my heart for an entirely different reason, lol)
Episode one was so good and I am very much looking forward to episode 2 on Sunday!

s4 james and john are truly unhinged. they see their buddy get promoted and given a cool little new name and go well that's just because he answered the question first. we totally knew that too. it was a test actually
