Get you a man who will deliver your anemia medicine for you, volunteer for gruesome murders for you, set up a nice cozy tent in his massive house for you, conduct medical malpractice for you, recreate the sound of the wind through the trees for you, buy a funeral home for you, make fondue for you, gently hit a guy with his car in the rain for you,

Ok, not only did Moon Dong Eun avenge the villains of this story. She found love afterwards and was able to pursue architecture like she always wanted to. She now dresses freely with her tattoo, proudly showing her scars. She's no longer confined to her trauma. Dong Eun got her revenge AND her happy ending!
Even though she was so convinced that she's a terrible person for wanting revenge, she actually managed to touch the lives of the people around her through simple acts of kindness (empathizing with them for being victims) and those same people came back to support her as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's usually "revenge is bad" this "you got revenge but at what cost" that, but no, she got her revenge AND her and other people's happy ending. Even though it's a dark story about how victims suffer, there's always the underlying message of hope, where they also understand and help eachother. Even if they had to bend the rules to get it, The. Victims. Won. Oh. My. Goodness.
In the end, it wasn't exactly just "revenge," it was also about bringing justice to the victims.

“There was a time when I used to think “What if someone had just helped me?” “If someone, somewhere had been there for me?” Eighteen springs had gone by with that question still in my mind. But I finally realized something. That there were good people in my life. Good friends, good weather. Even heaven intervened. And when you said we should die in the spring, what you really meant is that’s when we should bloom. I want to thank you. Thank you so much for saving me. While I know I didn’t grow up to be good, eventually a spring will come when I will fully bloom. I wish you a long, healthy life.”
I wonder if she’ll come see the flowers.

☯ i want you - yeojeong
[joo yeojeong x reader]
synopsis - yeojeong chases, even though you leave.
warning! contains angst, but is overall fluffy
first time writing for the glory! this is a short one, but i noticed there's not a lot of yeojeong fics and wanted to change that
Tumblr media
"Wait!" Yeojeong exclaimed, scrambling to find something in one of his many kitchen cabinets. "I can make us some food!" You had been trying to leave the house for five minutes now, each time Yeojeong found a new excuse to keep you in. "Yeojeong, I need to leave." You deadpanned. His hair swept his face as his head fell in defeat. There was no point in chasing if all you were going to do was leave.
"I understand." He spoke quietly with his eyes still fixated on the counter infront of him. Something felt wrong. When a minute ago you were fighting so strongly to leave, and here you are, tied to the house. Tied to him. "What's wrong?" You questioned, taking a few steps towards him. He looked up at you with glossy eyes. "It's all you ever do. All you ever do is leave." His grip tightened on the counter. The atmosphere felt thicker. "I want you here. I want you here with me, Y/n."
"I'm sure you have better things to do than babysit me. We are both busy people Yeojeong, I just don't have time."
"You never have time!" He raised his voice slightly. "I have been nothing but kind, all you do is push me away. What have I done to you?" That last sentence stung. I struck a different kind of pain, different than anything you'd endured during high school. "Yeojeo-"
"No." He cut you off. "I will always have time for you, Y/n. There's no one else I'd rather spend that time with." What was he getting at here? Did he want you to stop everything you'd worked so hard for? Everything you'd dedicated your life to?
"I like you, Y/n. More than you will ever understand."
The room fell silent and his head fell again, this time in same. His heart beat faster with each of your footsteps.
"I've come to the realization that it's okay. It's okay to feel wanted. It's okay to feel loved." You took a pause to admire his soft features. "I want that all from you, Yeojeong." A smile crept onto your face as his head shot up. "You really mean it?" Hope laced his voice.
You nodded and he wasted no time wrapping you in a sweet, warm hug.
"You have no idea how much you mean to me, Yeojeong."

One thing you could always count on is the criminals' instinct/characteristic to abandon their allies and throw them under the bus. The most satisfying part was that they basically brought each other down and Moon Dong Eun didn't even have to do that much, once she pushed one of them, they brought the others down with them like dominos.

Ughh, yeah, I know that was too naive, but I wanted something more for them💔 I just preferred Ha Do Young, not the doctor.

The glory on Netflix is one of my favorite K dramas of all time! It is also a good revenge story that I did a deep dive on, so if you’re interested in more longform content from me here you go.

When you just finished The Glory and realise that the leads were literally the epitome of “Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss” and “Mansplain, Manipulate, Malewife”
Who’s ready to be the Yeo-jeong to my Dong-eun?

The only unrealistic thing about the Glory is how the HECK does she manage to look so stress free in a course like architecure?
Tumblr media
I'm an architecture student myself, and I find myself wondering, WHY is she not carrying a bunch of stuff. On a normal day, we would be carrying a bunch of art supplies, a giant ruler (t square), a giant art tube (canister), or a giant suitcase for our giant papers (durer), or even at least a laptop bag. On a bad day sometimes we carry a combination of those, and there's Dong eun whose just carrying some notebook and a small bag??? Totally unrealistic if you ask me.
Also, architecture students are literally so busy, we barely sleep or have any social lives at this point, and yet Dong Eun has time to plot revenge for her boyfriend?? Girl, you should be worrying about your design plates!! 🤨🤨
Tumblr media
Idk how to draw non anime stuff, but I made a quick, low effort sketch of how I think it should be: Yeo Jeong helping her carry her architecture stuffs after school.
0/10 This show clearly didn't do enough research on Architecture, smh🙄 totally ruined it for me-SHOT
Anyways.. lol, jokes aside, I'm really happy for Moon Dong Eun, her bullies may have tried to take her future away from her, but she was able to rightfully take it back, and I'm glad the last episode actually showed how she went back to pursuing what she wants. 🥰
It's a small scene but I think it's really important for her character, because it shows Dong eun finally got her dreams and aspirations back and that she's no longer just defined by her trauma. She's so inspiring Fr. Hopefully one day I can be free from architecture and fully pursue my own passions too

I just binge watched my kdrama revenge show in one sitting and the amount of toxicity and mind games I’ve absorbed is insane. US shows could never

Ranking the bullies of "The Glory"
So, just like this kdrama has taken over the world, it has also taken over my mind with its twisted tale of revenge. You already know from the title, the kdrama I am talking about, it is “The Glory” on Netflix. What I cannot stop thinking about the most is the characters in the drama and especially the bullies. So, in this blogpost I would rank all the bullies from the most nefarious to the…
