So...The Greatest Story Ever Told is on TCM right now...I just had it on for a bit before I started something else, and I looked at the screen as went “Is that Charlton Heston playing John the Baptist?”
Went to look up the movie, and sure enough, it was.
All I knew beforehand that it starred Max Von Sydow and Claude Rains (it was actually his last film)...But I looked up the full cast on IMDb and the cast list includes:
Max Von Sydow
Claude Rains
Charlton Heston
Dorothy Mcquire
Pat Boone
Jose Ferrar
Van Heflin
Martin Landau
Angela Lansbury
Robert Loggia
Roddy McDowall
Sal Mineo
Donald Pleasence
Sidney Poitier
Telly Savalas
Joseph Schildkraut
John Wayne
Shelly Winters
Ed Wynn
With each passing name, I went “what??”...I had no idea so many actors were in the movie playing characters with potentially only one scene (I guess John Wayne had one line that took him hours to get right).

by Warren Peel | In Exodus 18 Moses spends a whole chapter on his father-in-law Jethro. I think it’s safe to assume that Moses didn’t promise to give him a prominent spot in his book in order to win brownie points with the in-laws! So why then is this chapter here?

Reading Song of Spider-Man (and lacking basically any other frame of reference for the it) you start to think it’s possible to save the show, for all its troubles. Then you listen to the concept album and you go, “Oh.”

Ow, me head. That was me first thought when I came to, before I even opened me eyes. I would’ve kept them shut, but I had that sense there was someone in the room, looking at me, like. An’ then I registered the beeping of the machines keeping me stable, and knew I wouldn’t be able to get back to sleep even if I kept 'em closed. Best to face the day, no?
I’d guessed that I was in the hospital: seeing that, as me eyes fluttered open, was no shock at all. But the man standing across from me, against the wall there? That was.
“Gareth!” he exclaimed, swooping over to me bedside. “You’ve awakened!”
To my dismay, it were the Archbishop of Canterbury himself: Geoffrey Dunstan.
I groaned. Me head was really pounding now. “I told you last time, I were raised Catholic. And me name is just Gary, it’s not short for anything.”
The ol’ AB of C weren’t fazed a bit. I suppose you’ve got to keep your composure in a job like that, dealing with the King, like. “I am pleased to see that you’re awake, my son!”
I sighed. I groaned. I were in a lot of pain. Me head, ow.
