i’m so glad that you don’t mind my shinee commentary bc i also don’t know any shawols(or stays tbh, this is how i get my kpop fix)😭 onew is suchhhh a humble king, literally can’t believe that he got fanmail so soon as if he isn’t in one of the most successful kpop group ever. the first time i heard about shinee was in like 2010 or 2011 (which was very soon for PR tbh, aquí lo que había en ese momento era just reggaeton). and i was so baffled at the fact that nobody liked kpop here. so yeah onew, you’re the real deal!! i’m so happy that he’s getting the love he deserves💜and i can’t wait to see his comeback! i’m so excited! and the antique shop matching necklaces from Monterey☹️ that is so cute!! i got my second iced coffee of the week💁🏻♀️ and a macadamia cookie, i was working on this very tedious assignment most of the day yesterday and after i finished i was like “treat yourself”. i’ve really been eating super terribly lately and i hate myself for it😭

I think the only thing that kept me going this whole week was the iced coffee trips tbh 🤕 it was such a WEEEEK……. But I’m so glad it’s finally Friday 👼 we’re having a streaming party for Ateez’s Coachella set tonight so we ordered so much food and baked cookies and dragged our Ateez pcs around everywhere like all week I am sooo excited !! Hi there lovely! Thank you for being my first synastry ship on my new blog! I know these take forever to do but I absolutely adore doing synastry ships.
As usual the first planet always refers to the idols planetary placements so in this case the first planet is Mingyu and the second is your planets. Also I always put Conjunctions under pro’s but they may cause some friction in the relationship even if they land on the positive/neutral side of astrology, the same goes with Oppositions I’ve listed them under cons but they do bring some positives to the table.

Conjunct Chiron ~ Lilith: Now according to this aspect you will have the tendency to trigger whatever trauma Mingyu possesses, this only comes around when you express any of your taboo qualities that come with your Lilith being Libra. In a way your more darker, wild sign reminds Mingyu of certain triggers that he has gained throughout his life. This placement can be a bit difficult and painful for the two of you, but this also brings about an opportunity for Mingyu to heal and move forward. This aspect isn’t inherently negative but it does mean that the two of you will have to put a fair amount of work into your relationship for it to turn out happy and relatively successful.
Trine Sun ~ Mars: Somehow and someway the timing of your relationship is quite perfect. Shortly after finishing school, your big break came. Time to start building dreams!
Over the years, you grew up as one of the greatest artists in the industry, along with your group: SHINee.

And then, that small space appeared that so comforted us all. Blue Night, that special, cozy and warm place, where we all felt understood, thanks to you.
It’s time to leave the continent! SHINee became known all over the world, which embarked them on a world tour where I had the opportunity to attend a concert that I never thought I could go to, to fulfill my dream, to finally have you close, and most special of all, celebrate your birthday with you.
The best moment of my life:
The greatest dream came true! One day in October, in 2014, we found out that it was finally time to walk through the doors of the Tokyo Dome and show everyone, once again, that perfection exists.
After years of hard work, came the most important reward: recognition as a soloist. Your first solo album arrived, you gave us your art, your songs, your lyrics, your music.

After the success of Base, it was time to include your songs entirely on She Is, in my opinion, the best album of your career. She Is has completely your essence, it describes you perfectly, it screams "Jonghyun" in each of its lyrics. Is my favorite and will be forever. Thank you for giving us this jewel.

Maybe we couldn't walk our whole life together, but I can proudly say that I grew up with you. Every word, every moment, every tear and every smile. Everything was worth it and is still worth it. I had to let go of your hand too soon, but that doesn't mean you're not still with me, with us. In the hearts of all of us who love you, of those who knew your art, your life, your passion for music.

I'm a babywol, dcm was my first comeback with SHINee and despite being really excited for being part of it, i had to take time from social media (choosing to stay most on tumblr) because all the streaming thing got me stressed... everywhere i went all i ever saw was people talking about views/votes and all this made me kinda angry??? i mean, recognition when received through prizes it's a good thing and of course i feel happy when they win something but trophies or views aren't the only way to give the recognition they deserve... i wish more babywols would realize it's more about appreciating the music (and the dedication SHINee puts in delivering amazing things to us) than doing a streaming competition, not everything needs to be about views (because the only view that matters is the neomu areumdaun daun daun daun view). Thank you so much for listening to my rant (and sorry about the bad pun at the end, just wanted to light up the mood a little). Thank you again! 💖
It is good to recognise when you need time off a certain platform.
I have been on this website for 10 yrs (9 years with this account) and that is how long I’ve been interacting with shawols too and tumblr is one of the best places for me. Large majority of shawols here are amazing and nice and I love the general vibe tumblrwols have (yes this is a word now). I can only go to twitter for like a few minutes a week and it usually ends with me closing the app and coming to rant here on tumblr. These days I usually just check it for updates and quick translations and stuff. I do no longer attempt to interact with people. Twitter seems a bit like a popularity contest too, but that’s the advantage of tumblr. It’s hard to feel popular when people can’t see the numbers (and I mean that in a good way)
The biggest show of SHINee’s success is how long they have been going while consistently bringing out amazing music. Of course there is nothing wrong with streaming and voting and all that stuff. It IS nice for them to win things but for me it is not essential. They don’t need the awards to prove they’re good. Anyone who pays attention to them for more than 5 minutes can tell.
Again there is not anything wrong with trying to raise views or trying to get people to vote, like I said recognition is nice. but at what cost? I did a giveaway here and was worried if asking people to follow and reblog was too much. Then I log on twitter and see people asking for stream proof for giveaways.
I saw a twitter user post proof of her 94th entry to a giveaway. Like that’s crazy how much time must’ve gone into that and it is not okay.
People shaming fellow fans into viewing and voting really isn’t the way to do it. If you like provide a tutorial and be like hey reminder to vote today, I’d probably be like oh yeah I’ll do that but if you are being rude about it I will probably scroll on.
You don’t have to be a hardcore fan to be counted as a shawol imo. Casual fans are welcome too. If you appreciate their music and respect the boys then congrats you are a perfect shawol in my book. You don’t need to fit all kinds of criteria to be considered a good fan. being a shawol should be a fun thing and should be enjoyable and you should be able to fill that in the way you see fit.

I’m still a bit disappointed and upset as an MVP. From the V-live where he is sat alone and not in frame, and quieter than usual to the MV where it seems like they tried to cut him out of the dance sections.
Until the end post-bridge bit, you mostly see only 3 members in the dance chorus bits
I hope Onew/Lee Jinki gets all the recognition and love he deserves and more. His voice shines so much in this song and the bsides too. I hope VOICE and his future solo albums get the immense recognition and sales they deserve. I hope he finds himself and gets opportunities to do variety shows/ acting/ musical.
I honestly miss his Golden Bell days/DOTS acting/ Musicals days. He has entered a sort of shell. But this is just an OG shawol reminiscing the old days.
I just hope he is really happy, gets all the opportunities and does everything that brings him joy and success.

on one hand i’m so glad shinee is still humble even after all this time bc i feel like with all their talent and success it would’ve been easy for ppl w less integrity to get swept up in it all. it makes me happy to see how truly grateful they are for all their opportunities and for all the love they receive from the world. they truly don’t take it for granted.
but on the other hand it hurts my heart to see jinki tear up as he says he hopes shawol will wait for them even if they don’t come back for a while after atlantis, when he still doubts his vocals, or when min apologizes to us and says he feels like he isn’t doing enough to connect with us, or when they all said they were nervous coming back with dcm bc they wondered if ppl would still like them.. yeah. it’s a double edged sword

mostly out of fandom now but near enough to see that there is drama.
there is a difference between shawols who were around for dec 18 and those who weren’t. that difference is not whether or not you love or miss jonghyun, whether you love or don’t love shinee, or how much you love shinee.
the difference is that many shawols experienced this event together. we have a shared trauma. because yes, it was traumatic. many people, like me, woke up to the news. for over a year i would wake up regularly throughout the night in tears, and i could not calm myself until i had gone through my facebook and twitter and tumblr just to make sure nothing had happened to another member, or to a friend.
i can never look at shinee the same way again. not since that day. i still love, love love all of the members. and i want nothing but happiness and success for jinki, minho, key and taemin. but whenever i look at them now i’m just reminded of all of the anger and misery and pain that i went through. i burst into rageful tears on key’s birthday because i’m jealous.
i’m so fucking jealous of the people who can look at those pictures and not feel the way i do. i’m so jealous of other fans who get to see their favorite bands or members hit milestones jonghyun was never able to.
and i’m not saying that new shawols don’t feel that pang sometimes. but it will never be like my pain. you will never look at a picture of four members standing together and scream and cry like i do. and it’s not because you do not love him, but because you did not wake up to a world suddenly without jonghyun.
the trauma caused by dec 18 is a shared one, and a unique one. it was the worst day of my life, and i, and all shawols who were fans at the time changed not only as ‘fans,’ but as people as a result of that day. and the only people who understand what we went through are, with little exception, just us.
the bond between shawols who were there is a necessary thing and it should not be belittled or ignored. we got through that terrible time together and, as a result, we suffered the same wounds. we have the same scars.
the scars of someone who did not go through it are not the same as my scars. your scars may be deep, they may open often, but they are not the same as mine.
i can love shinee with you, and i am happy to do that. my heart still can and wants to love. but it does not hurt the way yours does.

Onew immediately noticed you were in a bad mood, but he didn’t ask about it right away. He wanted you to talk about it first. But when, you were showing him fake smiles and telling you were fine he became sad. Even if you tried to look happy, Onew knew you. He knew when you were excited, when you were scared and definitely when you were sad. He wanted you to feel better, so he asked you if you were really okay. You knew you couldn’t hide your emotions from your boyfriend any longer, so you finally said “I am not okay...” and told what had been bothering you, shedding a few tears as you explained, then Onew hugged you tightly.
“It will be okay. I know it. We’ll make it through it. I will be there for you, my love, don’t worry.”

You knew you really couldn’t hide your true emotions from Key. Even if you showed a poker face, he knew that something was off. So you didn’t even try to hide your true feelings as you met him. He noticed your weird act right away and told you to sit down while he would make tea for you two. And when the tea was ready, he gave you your mug and sat down with you, looking as if he was ready to listen, and so, you did talk. Key was always there to listen to you rant.
“What? Really?” He shook his head. “That’s so shitty. If you need my help, just ask, okay? I am here for you.”

You tried to hide your feelings, and you were successful for the most part. Minho usually asked how you were, and you always smiled and said “I’m fine”, so he didn’t question it. But after a bad week, you couldn’t really hide it. Minho knew something was off and he asked about it. You did the usual and smiled while saying you were okay. But he didn’t buy it and asked if you were really okay. That made you broke down into crying. Minho quickly wrapped his arms around you, holding you tightly as you cried. He gently played with your hair to calm you down.
“It’s okay babe. Shhh. Everything is going to be okay. I still love you even if you’re not always happy. We all have bad moments.”

Now, Taemin didn’t always notice if you were sad. Most of the time, if you told him you were fine, he would drop it and believe you even if you had lied. But this time, even though you told him you were fine, something was telling him you really weren’t. So he asked you about it, and so you decided to explain everything that had been bothering you.
“Baby, why didn’t you tell me earlier? I could’ve tried to make you feel better sooner...”

You tried to hide your feelings very well, but Jonghyun knew better. He could immediately see you weren’t feeling well. So your attempts of showing him happy faces were in vain. He asked you what had happened, or if you wanted to talk about it with him. You would be lying if you said you didn’t want to talk about it with him. So you finally explained all your troubles and Jonghyun was there to listen with a comforting smile.
“What’s bothering you, baby? I know something’s wrong. Just tell me, I’ll listen.”

Happy 12th SHINee Day!
7 years have passed since I found SHINee and counted myself a Shawol.
So much has changed since then.
7 years ago, I was catching up with Hello Baby and various variety shows, learning tropes about each member and dipping my toes into fanfiction. In 1 year alone, there were 3 comebacks, a Japanese comeback, variety shows and dramas and stage plays - it was a glorious time to be a Shawol.
This was followed by member duos (does anyone remember Toheart?) and wildly successful solos, an arena tour and an absolutely fantastic album and repack in odd and mttm. The relationship between members seemed renewed and improved now that they all had space to grow apart from each other.
Those were my best years in fandom.
Now? I’m happy to see Taemin smile in an Instalive or a photo. It warms my heart to see him eat. I’m happy whenever Kibum updates his Insta.
I have learnt to accept that these little crumbs of happiness that the SHINee members try to give us are all we’re going to get from them anymore.
And that’s life, really.
If that’s depressing, it wasn’t intended to be. SHINee and Shawols are still here, still together, diminished though we are by the passage of time. Happy Anniversary, we say, not as a greeting but a promise: I have loved you, I love you and I will love you, no matter who we become or where life takes us from here.

This is the only time I will say anything about this new group.
I’m not here for it, and I won’t support it. I promise I won’t bash or hate, but I will also not engage in any way, because that’s what sm banks on.
No matter what they promise us now, if this group gets successful, the time and resources needed to promote them, will be to the detriment of the other groups. Not to mention, there will be travel restrictions in place soon for the older members, bc of the enlistment rules. Of course they’re gonna debut them first overseas, so they can milk them for as long as possible. They will tackle the domestic market after that, once the restrictions take hold.
Which means, the window for a SHINee comeback (I don’t know the other groups, so I can only speak as a shawol) once the others are back from the military just got even narrower, bc Taemin will want to do at least some solo promotions before he enlists. Not to mention, the fandom wars are going to be...bad.
This whole thing is giving me so much anxiety, I need to step away from it. So, you won’t find them on my blog. This is my happy place, and I want to keep it, so I have blacklisted as much as I could regarding this group.
I’m not big or important, but I have a small handful of followers who deserve to know where I stand. As I said, I won’t spread hate, because that’s not me, but I also can’t support.
I hope Taemin knows what he’s doing. I hope this is just my overactive and overly paranoid imagination talking, and that a year from now I can laugh at myself and how wrong I was.

happy 10th anniversary, shinee. may your light never burn out and you continue to shine in our hearts forever ♥
a decade. who knew that this day would come so fast? as a fan, i can’t believe that we’ve arrived here; for you, our five shining boys, i’m sure that it almost feels surreal.
i remember discovering shinee like it was yesterday. from lucifer, i traveled backwards to their previous hits: ring ding dong, juliette, a.mi.go, love like oxygen and of course, replay. their music became the soundtrack of my life from high school on and i found myself watching show after show during my late nights of avoiding sleep: yunhanam, star golden bell, hello baby, happy together, invincible youth, dream team, and more. these were shows that i laughed at and cried with; i grew attached. they became a source of happiness that i never expected and of course, i didn’t regret a single second of it. what led me to experience all of this? what led me to this point today? one group, five guys: shinee. i’ve been a shawol since 2010, seemingly two years too late, but i will be a shawol until the day i die.
from awards of recognition to performances to album releases to concerts to variety shows to radio interviews and more, i could go on and on about how much this group has impacted my life in some way, shape, or form. i felt overwhelmingly proud on 131111, the day shinee won their first daesang. i played each album after album on repeat on release days, i screamed my head off at their fan meeting in chicago a mere two years ago, i downloaded performance after performance for each of their comeback and promotional programs, i read translation after translation for every interview, article, and more... shinee makes me smile, makes me laugh, makes me happy, makes me sad, makes me nostalgic, makes me emotional... stanning them has been a rollercoaster ride that i never want to get off of. shinee has been, currently is, and always will be my number one group. i will never not be a fan of them.
it’s been an honor and a privilege to watch these boys grow into men. do i know them personally? no. i’m just a fan watching from thousands of miles away, but the way they’ve evolved from those adorable rookies in 2008 to the esteemed seniors in their industry now in 2018 is indescribable, and that’s only their on-stage personas. even behind the scenes though, i have no doubt that they’re five of the strongest, most inspirational people alive. they’re well-known for what they do and have made a name for themselves as one of the most successful groups in k-pop. and their biggest impact of all?: us. the fans. shawols. we wouldn’t be here without them, we wouldn’t exist without their presence. why do they keep doing what they’re doing? why do they keep going? for us. their biggest achievement and impact on the world will be us. a group of people i can now call my second family.
five years ago, i wrote this (http://jonghyunar.tumblr.com/post/51227321212/5-years-of-shawols-happy-5th-anniversary-my) cheesy post talking about... well, a lot. it’s amazing to see how much i’ve grown as well. it’s weird to think about me growing almost with them. shinee’s changed in many ways over the past five and ten years, both for the better and of course for the worst. despite their hardships though, they still keep going. if they won’t give up, then neither will i.
as i said five years ago: “SHINee has the ability to change lives; any person out there does. What makes SHINee special is the fact that they’ve managed to touch so many people; over these past five years, their fanbase has grown exponentially. The members have a way of making people smile, whether it be through jokes, gags, voices, dancing, or just them being themselves. They make others happy, and even if they don’t realize just how much they’ve managed to change people’s lives, it’s okay. All fans need is for SHINee to be happy; to see them living their dreams up on stage and delivering something that they’re proud of and want us to enjoy.”

Hold On.
Let’s talk about something for a little bit.
I realize Twitter Kpop fandoms have always been a mess, but lets look at the situation here.
You have a user (go report them) named sugasrighteye who is obviously a huge bts stan. That isn’t the problem. The problem is that this user has been continuously tweeting out rude and attacking comments against SHINee (some /most have been deleted from my understand) such as one that says “I’m sorry Jonghyun. My tweet was pretty insensitive I see that now. I love you and Shinee, even tho y’all are both dead I’m really sorry. I’m sorry you killed yourself. But that’s how life is. You move out of the way to make for for bigger things. Bigger things like bts.”
And This Is Not Okay.
Let me ask what Jonghyun, SHINee, or Shawols ever do to you? The past year has been the worst for Shawols, so why can’t you just leave us be. That’s all we want. Let us enjoy happy things and grieve over sad things. You couldn’t leave us be during his funeral. You couldn’t let us be happy over Jinki’s acquittal. You couldn’t even let us happily celebrate Jonghyun’s birthday. And finally, You continue to attack SHINee, saying how they would be better without x member.
You think Jinki shouldn’t be in SHINee? It’s your opinion, sure. But this man was voted the best leader in 2015 by other artists. This wasn’t the fans doing. His colleagues, other group’s leaders voted his as the best leader. He is known to have one of the most unique voices in Kpop (fight me on that) and he is literal sunshine and one of the best people I’ve ever known. Also he is innocent, so back off.
And Key? You are saying Key is washed up? Not good enough? Well, let's start there. Key is SHINee’s ‘master key’ he is good at everything. Singing, rapping, dancing, acting, fashion, he has it all. So why are you attacking such a precious gem like that? He is one of the most real and genuine kpop stars. He has never been one to hide his feelings or thoughts, and SHINee needs someone as outspoken and talented as him.
Now you’re saying dibidibidis can’t rap? Well, honey, you have another thing coming for you. Minho writes the majority of his own raps, and while maybe they don’t 100% fit in traditionally with the beat (Like in Tell Me What To Do) but he is paving a new and interesting path for rap in kpop. And don’t you dare say he is only in SHINee because of his good looks. While he may be fine he is also as much of a vocal as the others. He is also the backbone of SHINee, supporting all his brothers and being SHINee’s biggest fan.
And Taemin. God. How dare you say he doesn’t deserve SHINee. This kid has been dubbed the Michael Jackson of Kpop. He is one of Kpop’s greatest success stories, starting as a ‘tonedeaf’ kid into a performance king who also has several solo albums under his belt. He is SHINee’s powerful boy, the dancing machine. And how dare you say he doesn’t deserve all he, no, they have worked for.
SHINee have always been there for each other, and that hasn’t changed. Don’t trash on them and pretend you know them.
That brings me back to my point. Dear (mainly tbh) BTS stans attacking SHINee on twiter:
Please stop.
You can feel free to think BTS is superior to our shining SHINee. But don’t attack them, especially if you haven’t done any research.
For example, I’ve been seeing tweets about how BTS is sooo great bc they write their owns songs so groups like SHINee have nothing on them but wait. pause. hold.
Jonghyun alone has been written and composed over 50 songs for himself, SHINee, Taemin, EXO, Lee Hi, and more. All of SHINee have helped craft and put together songs before. Taemin wrote two songs for himself. Jinki has worked on SHINee’s songs along with Key who also wrote himself a song IN COMPLETE ENGLISH and performed is as a solo stage. And as I’ve already said, Minho has written so many of his own raps, including the infamous Dibidibidis rap.
And SHINee isn’t washed up or old news. They are just as relevant as your ‘oppas’. Maybe they aren’t as well known in America, but Obama talked about SHINee, not BTS, so keep that in mind next time you say SHINee is irrelevant to Americans.
Also keep in mind that BTS and SHINee are actually friends? Like Taemin let Jimin into his close knit friend group. V and Minho are really good pals too. BTS look up to SHINee, their senior group. And I’m sure BTS would be livid if they knew about their fans who are attacking SHINee in such ways.
Also, please keep us out of your fanwars. I once saw a post talking about how SHINee World is like a sleeping giant. Peaceful and harmless until you wake us up. And then we can do some real damage. Shawols don’t like fanwars from my experience, many I talk to would prefer to not involve SHINee in toxic stuff like that. But god. You’re making it really hard to be nice and let the comments pass when you continue to attack us while we are still hurting. What is your gain from attacking Jonghyun and his brothers? Is it fun for you to have a ton of people upset at you for making insensitive and plainly rude comments about such a sensitive topic?
I’m not one to say things or address things like this, but all I’ve seen on twitter and instagram are posts about this.
I just want SHINee to be happy.
Just leave them out of your fanwars and petty comments and there wont be any problems.

The stars predicted Jonghyun’s death
First off, I am not making this to offend anyone. I am a Shawol and was absolutely devastated when our beautiful boy died, and with SHINee’s new album coming out and watching their music videos, I began thinking back to December. I started thinking of astrology, then I looked up some aspects that can indicate depression.
//I’m not making fun of mental illness. I used to have depression and I have some of the aspects that will be mentioned in the list below. I am also not making this to poke fun at Jonghyun, SHINee, or shawols. I am simply analyzing what went on in our poor boy’s head on the evening of his departure. Also, in no way am I saying I’m an expert at astrology. There are still many things I don’t know and would be glad to be corrected if I’m wrong on something.//
Let’s begin with Jonghyun’s natal aspects that are known to indicate depression or emotional difficulties.
Sun square Saturn
•It’s no surprise that anything harshly depicted by Saturn is not very good, and this is no exception
•People with this placement want to be considered accomplished and important
•They faced a fair number of challenges especially in the first half of life, in which attempts to express their will were often thwarted (his relationship to his father is known to be very difficult)

Also, having Pluto in Scorpio is quite a difficult placement when adding the other factors of his depression together. Another thing to note is that his Mars was within 30 degrees of his Saturn, which is an indicator of taking your own life. I’m sure he had hard housing placements as well, but I don’t know the time of his birth so I can’t look into that information.
Now, to what was happening in the sky on December 18th, 2017.
Saturn had something to do with this. Are you surprised? I’m not.
Saturn was beginning to transit from Sagittarius into Capricorn, which only happens every two and a half years, and it decided to change signs on December 19th, a day after Jonghyun’s death. The energy in the sky of the moving Saturn must’ve thrown poor Jonghyun off, and maybe caused him to be on-edge.
It was also a new moon in Sagittarius, which Saturn was in conjunction to.
“Saturn’s alignment with the New Moon helps us keep things realistic, but with Saturn at the very end of its transit of Sagittarius, we may feel some pressure to make changes or tie up loose ends. Our new beginnings get off to a serious and slow start, even though we may want to push harder.”

Jonghyun must’ve felt so overwhelmed. All the hard aspects in malefic planets pinned against him must have been absolutely horrible to experience in his life. I actually had to stop writing this a few times to cry because it was just too much. After finding all this out, I understand how important astrology truly is and I hope Jonghyun is finally happy and able to accept himself. I miss him so much. Correct me if I got any of these aspects incorrect, thank you.
I want you to know that you are loved and no matter what’s going on, someone will cry if you die. Please never do what Jonghyun did. For him, it may have seemed like the only choice, but I know for a fact that there’s always another way. I love you, and please take care of yourself❤️
