in the amelia pond au, amelia’s aunt does still send her to therapy between doctor adventures, but since amelia is now secure in the fact that he’s Definitely Real since both rory and mels have also met him and because she lost a tooth last week from tripping on the stairs of the tardis, she doesn’t bite any therapists this time around. and besides, her therapist is a very funny lady. she reminds amelia of her doctor, with how her voice will flip and jump in volume and accent and tone on a whim, with how she’ll talk to amelia like they’re conspiring together. she keeps the pictures amelia draws of the doctor and their adventures for her, even hangs one or two on the walls. she listens very intently to every detail, which no adults in amelia’s life do save the doctor himself and river song, whenever she’s around. and best of all, whenever she tells amelia’s aunt that amelia is doing just fine, don’t you worry, she’ll grow out of this, she winks at amelia so that amelia will know her therapist is only playing along to wave away her aunt’s suspicion.

it is a little odd, though, that she insists on only being called Missy. but amelia is quite used to odd by now.

#not the point of this post but. please do imagine amelia and rory and mels and the doctor all having escaped from Real Actual Danger #rory has the energy of a cat with its fur all puffed up and looks like he’s either going to start crying or yelling at the doctor #mels is standing on the box the doctor got her so she could see the tardis console better and studying the way he flies it very intently #and amelia is still full of energy and adrenaline and can’t stop racing around the tardis like a hyperactive gerbil. because if she stops #she might have to be scared instead but if she can run long enough she’ll forget to be scared at all and when she collapses exhausted all #she’ll have left are the exciting happy memories #and then she misteps racing up the stairs. shouts! the doctor and mels and rory are all at attention immediately. mels moves first but rory #is closer and helps amelia back up. and then the doctor is crouching down in front of her. ‘let me see. oh that’s a lot of blood. that’s. #how much blood are you able to lose again? its more than this. probably.’ amelia’s whole face hurts. but the doctor’s rambling is familiar. #it helps. and he’s only so talkative when he’s sure he has a solution. besides. rory’s head’s nestled on her shoulder and mel’s got her #hands. the doctor wipes blood off her nose and her chin. tilts her head up and goes ‘aaa’ sticking his tongue out until she does it too. #and he tells her to feel her upper row of teeth with her tongue. she does until she finds the gap. #it still hurts. hurts more when she nudges it with her tongue all bleeding and raw. but she just lost a tooth! and you know what that means. #they have to find it. or else how will the tooth fairy leave her any money? #(the doctor hears her say that to mels as they search. and he glances off to the side and makes a note to go back and make sure it *was* her #aunt leaving her those coins. and not something else. which he does. and finds out her aunt wasn’t leaving her any coins at all. #he can’t just let that stand! so the doctor becomes amy’s tooth fairy as well.) #and that is how amelia loses a tooth on the tardis. #amelia pond au

learning how to color with my new screen tablet. turns out people still zoom in digitally and dont put their face up to ~.3 cm from the screen

I have to look at the cursor instead of the stylus! #but I dont do that! I look at the stylus! which is big and of darker colors versus the bright screen! and also on top of the screen! #it's like having a new nose. and being Very aware of it. #I think it'll get better I'm already starting to forget it's there at points. that just needs to become more frequent #anyways. it's a curve for a reason. we are taking it a step at a time #inking with this tablet was really fun tho!! everything really is so much bigger and I love the tactile directness.... #but for now. Anyway, I have a nice bruise on my chin from when I face planted on the ground along with full body aches because an idiot teen boy clipped me from behind with zero warning as he tried to pass on my right, when there was literally NO ONE TO MY LEFT. HE COULD HAVE JUST GONE LEFT.

He apologized, but it didn’t stop him from almost doing the same damn thing to other people afterwards, so apology not accepted.

My brother fell down the stairs and sprained his ankle today. My mom had to take him to the ER on Christmas. I had a horrible migraine this morning and then after my nap, I got a sore throat. So I could have a cold, the flu, or covid, who knows. 🙃

I found the artists Instagram and I love her art but my gosh what is with the cover

For anyone curious, here's a link to her IG! She is a very talented artist, though there is a big difference between doing a single piece you can put all the thought and detail you want into it, and illustrating a graphic novel.

Between being asked to use a different style than her typical one (as she said on her tumblr), and the simplifying necessary for a graphic novel (though not as much so for a cover), and probably much more, it definitely was not what many of us were expecting.

I don't think it's bad--although I will say I think the layout of Fitz's face is wrong for the angle, a technical critique--it's just very different from the example art we've seen of hers prior. Which makes sense, but is still something to get used to.

There's also what others have said about it not feeling like it embodies keeper, but I'll go into that in another ask about the cover :)

Anyway! I want to very clearly emphasize my support for the artist, she has a massive task in front of her and a fandom with high expectations. I don't think she's paying attention to us or what we say, but either way. Even if the cover isn't what we thought or expected (honestly I forgot it needed a cover), she clearly has skill and artistic knowledge I'm curious to see in the rest of the novel--which I think will be a better judge. Covers are all played up, but the book is the real meat of it and, I think, more important.

I have no idea how to do an updo, and I’ve never had my hair professionally styled before so I was experimenting. I grabbed a section of hair, twisted it, pulled the top a bunch for volume, and threw a clip in it hoping it didn’t fall. I loved it and I’ll never be able to create this look again.

#yes i took this in my bathroom and yes he's squeezed into barbie clothing. any questions dhdhDHDH #i mainly changed his eye color/slightly altered his eye shape #i also washed off the original lip paint and tried to redo it but it was too bright #but when i washed THAT off it left a stain that conveniently looks better dhdDHD #also i cut his a hair a little! #i wish his face was a little softer around the jaw but it's not like there's a lot of ken dolls with like. longer or even rooted hair #with a similar nose. and the chin dimples. so you work with whats there fbdDNS #OH his eyebrows!! i redid those too :)
