Exodus 25 Building the Tabernacle
God told Moses to tell the Israelites to bring Him their sacred offerings. God gave them a list of acceptable offerings.
God then instructed Moses to build Him a Tabernacle which would include the ark, the table, and the lampstand and its furnishings according to the pattern and dimensions God gave to Moses.
The ark was to be made of acacia wood. Moses was to put the tablets which contained the commandments inside the ark. The ark had very specific measurements. God also instructed Moses to make an atonement cover that was made of pure gold. This would have cherubim with their wings spread wide over the Ark of the Covenant. God then told Moses that He would meet with him so that He could pass on the tablets that held the commandments for the people of Israel.
The table for the sanctuary was also to be made out of acacia wood. God explained the specific plans for this table. The pitchers, plates, and bowls for offerings that were set on this table were to be made from pure gold. He also instructed Moses to keep the special bread on this table at all times.
Moses was also to make a lampstand fashioned from pure gold. This would have a base that was hammered by hand. The stand would have seven lamps on it. The trays as well as the wick trimmers were also supposed to be made of pure gold. God told Moses that he was to make everything according to the plan that the Lord had laid out.

Years ago, I had the awesome privilege of singing on a worship team at church. This song was always a favorite song we sing but I didn't really know why until I was doing my devotions today! I was reading in Exodus and it talked about the mercy seat of Christ. I had heard that many times but didn't really understand what it was about..... so I did my research. While I was researching, I found out that this was part of the ask of the Covenant. God is soooooo amazing because the other devoting book I am reading currently is called The Prayer Code by O. S. Hawkins. Wouldn't you know the chapter I was up to was all about The Tabernacle and how to pray through it. So I'm off to pray! I'll never sing this song the same way again! Thank you Jesus!

The Ark of the Covenant and the Holy of Holies - Revisited
This post is one of “The Tabernacle” series. Select  “The Tabernacle” under Categories to view the other posts in this series. (Exodus 26:31-37, Exodus 25:10-22, 26:33-34) As previously indicated, between the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies, was a magnificently beautiful curtain or veil. Like the gate into the court of the Tabernacle, which was the first door, and the second door which hung at…

Living with Guilt and Responsibility Well
I was reading in Exodus this morning, and frankly, most of the section I was reading was fairly boring to my spiritually dull heart, until I got to the last verse in the chapter.     35 Then the Lord smote the people, because of what they did with the calf which Aaron had made. Go back to chapter 32:21 where we are told what Moses said to Aaron when he saw what had happened while he was up on…

A Weighty Responsibility
14 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying, 15 “List the sons of Levi, by fathers’ houses and by clans; every male from a month old and upward you shall list.” 16 So Moses listed them according to the word of the Lord, as he was commanded. 17 And these were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon and Kohath and Merari. 18 And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by…

"Enjoys Disrespecting Religious Rites and Gods"
Now I imagine him and Astarion going out if their way to fuck on and in religious temples/sites just out of spite. Gale's horror when he sees them aggressively going at it in Mystra's temple under one of her idols.

I mean. Do we even need to go that far.

Exodus 27  God’s Instructions for the Altar, Courtyard and Oil for the Lampstand
Chapter 27 focuses on the detailed instructions He gave for the altar of burnt offerings, the courtyard, and oil for the lampstand.
The altar was to be made from acacia wood. It was to have four horns on each of the four corners. The altar was to be covered in bronze so that the horns and the altars were seen as one piece. All the utensils which were to sit upon the altar were to be made of bronze, too.
The Tabernacle was to have a courtyard that had a south side that measured 100 cubits long. The curtains for the courtyard were to be fashioned from only finely twisted linens that were blue, purple, or red. It should have 20 posts made of bronze bases and silver hooks. The north side was to be as long as the south side, also with 20 posts made of the same material. These were to be made by a highly-skilled craftsman. God wanted all the articles within the courtyard, regardless of their function, to be made of bronze.
The Lord told Moses to command the Israelites to bring oil made from pressed olives. This was to be used for the lamps so that the light would burn from daytime until nighttime. Aaron and his sons were told that they were supposed to keep the lamps burning throughout the night. God instructed the Israelites to obey this command forever.
