Today was a day filled with anticipation. I was interviewed for the Pride Month celebrations at work about what it was like to be both gay and disabled.

I was really open in the interview and talked about my struggles with my disabilities and being seen in the gay community. I also talked about how my Wonder Mom inspires me to be a better person, how positivity helps, and how sparkles are my superpower.

I am really open about my life, but I normally like to keep my work and personal life separate. The interview was like opening a Pandora's Box. I talked about leaving home at sixteen so I could be free to be gay and talked openly about what it is like to be gay *and* disabled in a community that want perfection above all else (at least in my experience).

Well, today, the article that was written from the interview went live. In the morning, I sat with myself and knew that I was proud of what I'd accomplished, what had been written, and myself.

It's always difficult putting yourself out there in a different environment. I hoped that people would be receptive. Thankfully, they were!

The comments from my piece were amazing and people responded so positively. I got lots of lovely comments telling me I am brave and inspirational. ✨️ That gave me all the feels.

In the end, I am so thankful I was brave enough to be open about my story and opened the Pandora's box of me. I will take a moment to pause and reflect tonight on the door I have opened within myself. There is nothing to fear.

There are only stars 🌟 shining brightly from within.

📷 IN HEAVEN⁠ .⁠ © Luís Lopes - www.luislopesphotography.com⁠ Follow me on this adventure @luislopesphotography.⁠ .⁠ This spot, where I took this shot, is located about 2000m high and to reach it, although there is around a good and friendly lift that can take you to about 1400m, the remaining 600m are not done without walking up for almost 3 hours by steep slopes. The views are unbelievable beautiful but the paths until the top is quite dangerous, with almost of the time only room for only one person to pass, crossing waterfalls and of course somehow good physical preparation for it. When you finally reach the top you get an extremely welcoming reward…this as to be one of the most magnificent views I have ever seen. The mountain set in front reachs about 3500m and it forms the perfect amphitheater for the incredibly blue\turquoise lake below.
