Yo there’s a couple of dudes who live on my floor who are about 7ft tall and they’re so scary. I was in the elevator as they were moving into my building and just standing next to them I felt like I was being stalked by Slenderman. It was not pleasant. I realized right then and there I do not have that much of a size kink. Be careful what you wish for anons! LOL.

If I ever saw Thingol or Maedhros in person I would just shake with fear and then snap out of it and run away and hide. No thank you ma’am.

You know those scary hiking/wilderness stories where they have those tall dudes with the speakers for heads? That’s what you’re gonna feel around a guy like that. Creepy. (I hope they cosplay as slenderman for Halloween tho, they would for sure ~slay~ that costume)

Damn! That's a sad way to realise size difference ain't your thing 😂. I could just feel the uneasy sensation of being swamped by them in the elevator.

The only issue I have with tall people is breaking my bloody neck to look up! Like STOP BEING SO DAMN TALL!! If they do cosplay any of those characters, stay indoors or you're going suffer a heart attack 😭. I remember having a nightmare about Slenderman after playing the game and said NOPE, NEVER AGAIN. Don't be like me 🙂

But hey, at least we ruled out that tall people aren't for you >.< But my real question is, if those guys in your apartment were that tall and the silm elves are that height and taller...how are you going to deal with the ones shorter than Mae and Thingol🤔? Are you going to run from them as well?

Hi! Please do Galadriel/Melian, Daeron/Maglor and Finwe/Thingol (and/or the 4-we) for the ship opinion!

Daeron/Maglor

I enjoy them. Admittedly I don't think about Maglor a lot but I love Daeron and I think they're just kinda a hilarious but compelling ship. Like, they have such strangely similar fates, minstrels who are never seen again. I think it would be interesting if Maglor saw Feanor in Daeron (an inventor, a linguist) and Daeron saw himself in Maglor.... and they both were into that.

Galadriel/Melian

This is canon. To me. This is one of my favourite dynamics of all time just because there's so many ways it could go. Creepy. Soft. Angsty. All of the above.

Melian could (and should!) be kinda creepy and strange. Galadriel could be eager and a little sheltered and bold. The impact Melian has on her... Galadriel is cosplaying her in Lothlorien thousands of years later.

Finwe/Thingol

Listen. It's got it all: sweet romantic times in pre-Valinor, the angst of Finwe finding out Elwe is missing, of leaving without ever knowing what happened to him. Finwe moving on with his life only to lose ANOTHER partner to an Unusual Fate. Both of them having Special Important kids (Lu and Fea).

It just makes the whole Silmarillion even juicier. Those Noldor that Thingol doesn't like all that much? His ex's kids and grandkids. OOF.

4-we is like the upgraded version. I cannot even imagine what must have been going through Ingwe's mind.... oh I bet it would be delicious

Plus you can add the wives and get like, what, 9-we? Or Indis can have all the wives.

I’m back in the Silmarillion by listening to the Prancing Pony Podcast while I sew and...

Essentially Ulmo’s plan was to get this one man (Tuor) to get an elf princess pregnant. That was the Plan. Amazing.

Do you think Voronwë, during the fall of Gondolin, saw a dragon and at that moment swore for the only time in his life? before being incinerated

Fëanor slamming the door in Melkor’s face is still one of my favourite moments. 

Other favourite moments include: “Not the first” - Mandos, “For even now I hold a Silmaril in my hand” - Beren, Angrod pulling out all the dirt on the sons of Fëanor after Thingol finds out why they are here, and Finrod basically doing anything really

Mablung is still a sweetheart who tries so hard

By the time Mairon is “captured”, the Numenorean Kings have already fallen so far from grace I can’t help but thinking “go fuck ‘em up!”

I wish there was something more to redeem Maeglin because I like the fact that he liked looking for ores, but I guess... he was still just a dick

However I kind of developed a soft spot for Caranthir this time round, probably because although he is grumpy he knows how to run shit. Still, also a dick

The fact that Turgon asked Ulmo what size this Chosen One would be so he can leave behind appropriate armour was actually really sweet. But pointless, Ulmo, seriously?! it’s not like Tuor ever used it and the moment he walked into Gondolin all he had to do was bed Idril you were LUCKY SHE LIKED HIM and the one who came up with the hidden escape route was IDRIL #Tuorisuseless I’m going there, thanks for fucking him up, Maeglin, I guess.

Tolkien: Melkor is evil, there is no doubt how his character is coded. Me: *sweating nervously as I plan my next Melkor cosplay in his fair form* Sorry, Professor

I love that they come back with such fine clothes that everyone is like …. making very educated guesses abt where they were hahahaha

And YEAH TOTALLY I think there’s definitely a lot of that with their story too, just with a very different sort of, tone/atmosphere/feeling to it, less “stumbled into a strange liminal space slightly out of the right dimension full of enchantments and suspicion” and more “got dropped in the middle of a pocket world full of absurdly colorful characters where everyone is JUST GOING ABOUT THEIR BUSINESS AND THINK YOU’RE THE WEIRD ONES” or something...

also I love like...Turgon being so...something that he literally doesn’t think to go “hmm maybe I should make it actually look like they’ve been starving in the wilderness?” or if he does think it, doesn’t follow through on it. Or like...actually that ask Lion had on her blog a few days ago makes me wonder if maybe Turgon made it transparent on purpose as a sign to let Fingolfin/Fingon/Finrod/whoever know he was still doing fine and was friendly with the Edain while trusting H&H would keep the actual location/identifying details of Gondolin secret.
