what was with cameron house md she spends 90% of the episode saying she wants their patient to die bc he's a genocidal dictator and her colleague husband says "babe it bothers me for ethical reasons that you want our patient to die :(" and she said "hm maybe you're right :/" but when it comes down to it the genocidal dictator lays a finger on her in an aggressive manner and chase instantly commits medical malpractice to murder the guy and then when he tells her she LEAVES HIM bc boo hoo he's a murderer now like GIRL he killed a man for you!!! he's wracked with catholic guilt!!! he's being crushed beneath the weight of his sins because he chose his devotion to you over his devotion to god!!! he literally could not get any sexier at this moment in time!!!

Something something the warring emotions of wanting to love the wish fulfillment of seeing Daniel Larusso beat the shit out of his childhood abuser (even if it was corny and dumb because the karate kid has always been corny and dumb) vs absolutely loathing the way this season shit all over the themes of the original movies and went all in on the idea all conflict should, actually, be resolved through violence.

i’m seeing a lot of posts from mostly white people who identify with mailin in some way justifying this season by saying that it’ll be useful to the general audience (young white girls) which is just getting so exhausting like…i’m glad you guys are getting something out of the season but truly, can people of colour not have one thing??? there were 5 (five!!!) non-white characters in the cast who could’ve been contenders for main but apparently white people can’t empathise with us, so instead we have to suffer through 8 more weeks of mailin’s performative activism shenanigans

About Casifer, I actually liked Misha's acting in the vessel and was exited about what was next only to be disappointed in the following episodes.
Misha had the ability to have an interesting character but for some reason didn't delivered.
Yeah, that’s why I’m saying it’s probably a combination of the writing, directing, and the acting. I’m not too sure how Misha would have done if the Lucifer we got in s11 was more. Lucifer. And less ‘evil guy with no real goals except be evil’. Considering how well he was able to pull off Castiel’s inhumanity in s4, I think he might have made for a decent Lucifer (classic edition).
Like I said, he’s not a bad actor! It’s just that in this specific role, what he was given to work with apparently made him decide it was a great idea to lean into a kind of acting that reminds me way too much of guys from my high school doing their Joker impressions. I can’t unsee it when I’m watching him.
(And then there’s the fact that s11 did not know what the hell it wanted to do with Lucifer once they broke him out of the Cage, or what the fuck his motivations were regarding the Darkness, or even THAT HE IS NOT THE FIRSTBORN SON. (im sorry i can’t ever let that go, how do you mess up your own show’s lore that badly. the only conceivable way I can think of is that they Needed Lucifer to be a Dean-Cain-Amara parallel and didn’t stop to remember that he was the younger sibling in his version of this same old story.))

but it is kind of annoying that death stops mattering bc jared and jensen are good at showing that it does! like red meat is so good bc it depends on that! like this is just a regular hunt for them and sam is dying and dean is losing his fucking mind. dean literally kills himself because of it. and then, bc hes insane, he tells sam that he knew he wasn’t dead. normal people things. and the finale of s11! dean is going to die to solve the big plot and sam is standing there saying goodbye to his brother and at first it’s like they’re not going to do anything but then dean says “come here” and he pulls sam in for a hug and sam folds himself in against deans shoulder and they’re saying goodbye and this isn’t nothing to them!!!!! it was never nothing, it’s always heartbreaking and gut wrenching and it’s the worst thing you could think of, it’s your worst nightmare come to life, it’s the thing you would give anything to stop!!! dean went to hell just so he wouldn’t have to live without sam. this never stops. they never stop being willing to die for each other, they never stop grieving, it doesn’t matter how many deaths it’s been, they grieve every single time.

listen the running up that hill moment at the end of dear billy is obviously very beautiful and powerful but also every time i rewatch it i get distracted by how funny it is that max’s positive memories are almost all of lucas, el, and dustin because she and mike have fought in literally every interaction they’ve ever had and she and will have only spoken to each other twice onscreen

While I’m thinking about it…
… You know what I think would’ve been a better s5 arc? Dealing w/ Keller’s whole ‘we hurt everyone around us’ thing. You have the perfect set up for it. Instead of trying to force Neal and Peter into being at odds, just… Have Neal realise that Peter’s fighting a losing battle for him and is taking most of the hits? He starts trying to take matters into his own hands not to be a brat bc Peter can’t just do what he wants, but bc he realises he can’t. I’d rather see a plot about Neal falling back into old habits to protect people he cares about bc he realises his actions have far reaching consequences, Neal being more self aware and considerate, in a Neal kinda way. Not Neal being whiny and waxing on about how he just wants to take stuff. Neal’s idea of taking responsibility, bc he sees how his actions have effected the lives of everyone around him, and between Hagen and the Bureau itself and everything, he’s not registering that these people are willing to deal w/ the trouble out of love for him. Feels like it’d make sense from the s4 plot, honestly, w/ Pratt targeting the people around him and then James leaving Peter to be charged w/ murder. Follow that up w/ Hagen blackmailing him and getting played by Rachel (but nix the icky love plot) etc etc. You have a set up for Neal starting to feel like he’s contaminating and harming the lives of the people around him, that he’d absolutely fall for Keller’s spiel and not realise that those people are willing to weather through things bc they’d rather have him around—but not quite totally falling for it. Just feels like it’d make more sense.
And we still get moments like Peter shoving Neal to safety when a shot goes off (the way he held onto him after Hagen was shot, plus reacted to Neal getting shot gives me life).

Yes DB was written for each other. Truly believe that’s the route safran wanted. It’s not a coincidence the show became very OOC when he stopped writing and left.
insane that they were literally narrative foils from the beginning and when they got to the end of the show they were like "lol nvm."
I do not know mr safran personally so I cannot speak to his preferences but I think the show went off the rails with its characterizations long before he departed the show, Dan and Blair were just the last ones to fall to prop up Chip Wiskers.
