Amphibiuary 2024 Day 23: Common
One of my favourite frogs, the European common toad! While they are endangered in the UK, thankfully they are abundant over the rest of Europe.

About the RWRB movie:
I have seen, again, someone saying " they made a mistake, Alex makes his speech and THEN the king meets with Henry to deny the press"
I've seen a version of this way too many times.
It's not a mistake.
The leak happens, the press prints it/people talk about it, neither the White House nor Buckingham palace make a comment.
They're both regrouping (separately) to discuss how to handle it (as you do).
Buckingham Palace is known for, in most cases, waiting on things to calm down and act like nothing happened. They're clearly at a loss on how to proceed.
Alex makes his speech because, fuck it, he loves this man. And the situation is not ideal, it's actually really fucked up. His mother, the White House, his political party are being hounded. HE is being hounded, his most personal thoughts and business are out for everyone to read. But he's going to take back their power and their narrative, and he is going to start on their plan to make some history because he isn't about to let anyone shame them and their love.
Now he's in Buckingham Palace with Henry and the King speaks to them.
The King explains (quite clearly) how nations have always lied about other nations to gain power over them whether it be during warfare, economically or politically. That Great Britain itself has used it in the past, and that IF it's what's happening right now he will denounce and deny it (he knows it's all true)
Meaning the Crown is ready to go public and say the White House are lying liers who lie. The leak? The speech? All orchestrated to smear the Royal family in order to GAIN something (what thing, who knows, they'd find anything to back it up) or to undermine them.
The Crown is ready to hurt (or kill) their alliance with one of the most powerful nations in the world just to keep up appearances.
That's how far they'd go.
That's what he's proposing.
That's why this scene is there.
The king isn't talking about denying the press. He's talking about denying the White House.
