People are STILL putting character hate and irrelevant content in the tags, I see.

I used to give these people the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they just don't know that you shouldn't do that here, that the tagging system is actually for actual curation and not exposure, that doing otherwise could get you reported and flagged for spam. But so many posts explaining that have come and gone already, with thousands of notes on all of them. CLEARLY the message has gone around and still goes around. And yet the problem persists.

It's funny because that behavior (that I can now only assume is willful ignorance) only achieves the opposite effect: People get tired of seeing spam in the tags, so they report and/or block the blogs that participate in it. Their reach just dwindles. Their content remains in obscurity.

Long story short, just don't fucking do that. Although at this point, I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir since I now just block spammers on sight. Lmao

i don't really write poetry often, but whenever i do, i find myself having the most bizarre fixations

stuff like, "okay, the word 'reached' would be PERFECT here if it had a slightly different but insane connotation that i made up in my head. and the word 'stretched' ALMOST works as a replacement, but i just *really* need that r-sound instead of a str-sound, even though this is free verse and i don't really have a strict phoneme thing going on here, it's just. the vibes of 'str' are rancid, right there, specifically, okay. also, crucially, 'stretched' does NOT have the insane connotation i made up in my head. and for some reason the part of me that makes up connotations simply CANNOT do it for this slightly different word. anyway whatever we're using 'reached' #shipit"

You know what I don’t normally get into Trek technobabble stuff but I gotta say this. I would absolutely use a transporter and I don’t really get people who are like, scared of it?

Like, does it really kill you if it’s like for a few seconds and you come back in one piece afterward? Are people who were resuscitated after being killed/declared dead considered a new person or a clone of themselves after they died but came back? Is it death if your heart and lungs stops for 5 seconds in a way that leaves you perfectly intact moments later? It’s shorter and less dire than having a stroke!

Like YEAH transporter accidents happen! But you know what also happens that kills people more than transporters do? Shuttlecraft/small spacecraft accidents!

Car crashes and accidents happen all the time today, they kill and injure thousands of people almost every day.

The usual consequences with the transporter are usually weird and repairable as opposed to a car/shuttle crash being deadly and/or damaging!

If there’s a foreign element that wasn’t accounted for in a transporter like, a goat, maybe I’d come out of the transporter as a weird goat Tuvix situation that like in that episode, but you know what it’s established to be reversible.

If there’s an unsecured goat in my car wreaking havoc I’m gonna fucking crash and maybe die. In no circumstance is a car crash going to result in more than one of me, like, none. If I had to trade potentially getting cloned on accident in exchange for like, there being none of me, I’m picking the former!

Transporter accidents are for the most part inconvenient headaches that lead to shenanigans. Whereas a crash doesn’t have a lot of shenanigans unless you count a concussion as hijinks

Transporters are legitimately safer than most vehicles I don’t care what anybody says 😂

schools in the US (at least the ones I attended) present such glowing view of earthworms and people get such a bad impression that they're always good for the environment and it makes me so sad. like. please. why are you teaching that in this state (mn). every earthworm in this state is invasive and some of them are ruining our forest ecosystems but you guys are out here convincing people its okay and even good to release earthworms into the wild. there's basically nothing that can be done about them once they are somewhere so we just need people to stop spreading them. please. why are we teaching the kids earthworms good for environment always. they're gonna pour their parents' extra live bait into the forest floor. their parents think the same thing so they might do it anyway. they are so slow to spread if we don't do it for them.
