Now you mentioned i, I am a bit surprised Smallville is prominently and consistently in Kansas? It's Smallville, Kansas. There might be others and certainly cities located vaguely within a real region, but it's definitely the first fictional town or city of D.C. in a real-world American state to come to mind.
Tumblr media
So this gets to the weirdness of D.C geography. When Superman was first established, there was much less of a cohesive "universe," so if Siegel and Shuster wanted Superman to specifically be raised in Kansas, that's where he was from and the rest of the geography would have to work itself out.
IMO, this early slapdash approach to world-building has (over time) led to some things that just don't make sense to me as a student of urban history and urban studies:
Metropolis shouldn't be in Delaware. It doesn't make sense in terms of urbanization, given the context of an already-crowded Northeastern Corridor - Delaware simply does not have the capacity to sustain a city of 11 million people, and you wouldn't get a municipality of that size right next door to New York City (as well as D.C's other fictional cities in the area). The whole idea of Metropolis and Gotham being across the river/bay from each other has never really worked for me; you can still do Superman/Batman team-up stories no matter where they are, because Superman can fly and Batman has his own personal fighter jets.
More importantly, it doesn't make sense in terms of historic patterns of urban migration. Moving to the big city in search of the American Dream is a big part of the Clark Kent story, but historically people moving from rural to urban areas overwhelmingly go to the nearest large city, depending on how transportation networks are arranged, whether we're talking about train lines or direct flights or highways or bus routes. There is a reason we can track regional movements of black communities during the Great Migration, because who went where depended on which train lines ran through which states:
Tumblr media
This is why I've always felt that, while Metropolis has aesthetically been associated with New York City, it logically should be Chicago. It is the biggest city in the Midwest, one very much associated with robber baron industrialists and corruption at the highest levels, and absolutely stuffed with art deco architecture for Superman to pose on top of. Up until the Tribune Company began to strip it for parts, it's also been a major newspaper town with a long tradition of muck-raking investigative journalism that would inspire a starry-eyed cub reporter like Clark. As one of the original transit hubs and the U.S' own "nature's metropolis," it is precisely the place that a Kansas farm boy would hop a train to, because all trains go to Chicago. Also, culturally I like it better that Clark Kent represents the City of Wide Shoulders whereas Bruce Wayne is the typical Tri-State Area Type-A personality.
Going back to D.C's bizarro Northeast geography, I likewise have an issue with Gotham being in New Jersey...if New York City is also supposed to be a major metropolitan area in the D.C universe. Just as Delaware would struggle to support a city of 11 million people, it would be very difficult to grow Gotham into a city of 10 million people so close to the gravity well of the Greater New York Metro Area. New Jersey is a pretty urbanized state, but its biggest cities tend to range in population from 300,000 to 100,000 - which works very well for a place like Blüdhaven, which is supposed to have something of an inferiority complex vis-a-vis Gotham - because a lot of the population tends to gravitate to NYC for work and eventually housing as well.
I've already said my piece about the lack of cultural specificity of D.C's Midwest.
As far as the West Coast goes, I've always found it a bit odd that Star City isn't where Seattle is supposed to be. Let's face it, the only place where Oliver Queen's facial hair would go unnoticed is Seattle. Also, Coast City is often depicted too far north on the map - if it's supposed to be a half-hour away from Edwards Air Force Base, it should be significantly more southern, down by Kern County and San Bernadino County, not practically up in San Francisco.

Surprise Homies!
Luke Hughes x college vlogger!reader
Sup Homies Masterlist
** I had this idea but wasn’t really sure how to write to so hopefully it makes sense & y’all like it**
"Okay boys, you ready? " You ask the guys as you finish setting up your camera. Nods come from all of them, so you hit record. You’re crouched in front of the camera blocking most of what’s behind you.
"Sup homies & welcome back to the channel!!
Todays video is going to be a bit different, but still fun!! I’ve had lots of people asking for a boyfriend tag, but I think those can get boring so we’re spicing it up. I have here some of our closest friends too, since we’re going to play a little game so without further ado, let’s get started.”
You step back & walk backwards towards the couch, where there’s a spot for you on the floor between Luke & Dylan. Ethan, Steve, Philippe & Jacob are on the sofa behind. As you sit down, the boys wave. Steves made a couple of appearances in the vlogs when the two of you are studying together, but none of the other boys have so they’re pretty excited.
You plop down & Luke wraps his arm around your shoulder.
“This is Luke, my lover. Boys, introduce yourselves.” Quickly they go around & say their names.
“So, some of you many recognize these lovely lads, as they all play for Michigan’s hockey team. Steve here is the reason I met these lunatics, and you may recognize him as my study buddy as we go through engineering hell together” You stick your hand up for a fist bump, which you get before continuing “the rest of them just want to be in the vid for some clout.”
They protest “dont lie! Dylan asked me to put instagram handles in the vid. Anyway! They’ve all been playing since they were tiny, and today, we’re going to be testing their hockey knowledge. I’ve got 5 questions, of varying difficulty for them. They’ll have 10 seconds to write down their answers on these” you grab the mini whiteboards out of the bag in front of you and pass them around
“Okay, lets got going!!
Question 1, and if you guys can’t get this there’s no hope for you here”
“Hold up, what do we win?” Ethan pipes up “The satisfaction of beating your teammates isn’t enough?” he shrugs, “I mean yeah”
“Anyway, question 1.
Name one of the greats who had a fun nickname. "
“What the hell is considered a fun nickname “ Steve asks as he starts writing
"ehhhh. times up. flip!!"
L: CuJo
S: the dominator
D: Super Mario baby
E: The great one
J: Sid the kid
P: Finnish Flash
“Ethan, thats basic, so no point. Steve, who the fuck is that, Luke, Phil, Jacob you all get a point. Duker gets a bonus for being the only one to put Super Mario which is the best nickname, no question.”
“Dude, Dominik Hasek!” Steve says “oh okay, never heard him called that but” you pull up your phone “google says that was his nickname so you get a point. Moving on”
“Question 2, name Two teams to win back to back Stanley Cups at any point. Go” The boys are writing as you count down. “Done! Flip them”
L: Tampa bay & Islanders
S: Red Wings & Tampa
D: Pittsburg, Montreal
E: Oilers, Canadiens
J: Detroit & Toronto
P: Canadiens & Lightning
“Okay points for all good job boys. Next question, numba three!!
Give me 2 teams located in State, or provincial before you get your panties in a twist Ethan, capital.”
“Bruh I dont know geography!” Dylan complains. “Well, that sucks for you then”
“I though this was going to be stats or something!”
“So if I asked you to list the top scorers in NHL history you would get it?”
“Yeah probably!”
“That sucks for you then since I’m asking the questions. Go”
Dylans muttering to himself going “is that a capital” as the timer ticks down
L:  Rangers & Preds
S:  Avs (Denver) & Blue Jackets (Columbus)
D: Columbus & Boston??
E: Edmonton & Toronto
J: Red Wings (duh)  hurricanes (hopefully)
P: Detroit & Boston
“Luke, you’re wrong no points!”
“Hang on, NYC isn’t the capital?”
“Dude even I know that & I’m Canadian”
“Jacob & Steve, you both get bonus points for actually putting teams, not just cities. Clearly the rest of the boys can’t listen”
“Duker, good job you bullshitted your way through that”
“Thats my talent babe” he winks at the camera
“Question 4, What is the dumbest penalty that a team can get? “
“Is there a right answer here?” Jacob asks
“Yes, There is a correct answer, And if you don’t know this, clearly you don’t pay attention when we watch hockey together”
“Oh thats easy” Luke & Duke both say before writing
“Time!! Flip.”
L: Too many men - can y’all not count or something (direct quote)
S: Too many men
D: Too many “idiots on the ice”
E: Too many sticks? idfk
J: yelling at the ref (abuse of officials)
P: Too many men?
“Wow Jacob & Ethan, wow. I see how it is.”
“You know we’re normally playing when youre watching hockey right?” Jacob says in protest.
“Well the others got it right so stop being a sore loser. The rest of you all get points. And get your shit together guys. Lukey, bonus point for the quote”
“Its not hard, you say it every time.”
“And yet, you idiots still get the penalty!! Think of poor Adam who had his hatty taken away the other weekend because you guys can’t count!”
“Okay lets move on. We’ve heard the rant before” Steve butts in before you can get too heated.
You stick your tongue out at him but continue
“Final question, and you can get a lot of points here. There have been lots of brotherly duos that have played in the NHL” The boys immediately start protesting & talking over each other.
“Seriously?”
“Pretty sure this is blatant favouritsim”
“Oh Hell no”
Putting your fingers in your mouth you whistle to get their attention.
“Can I finish? Thank you. Now, there have been many brotherly duos play in the NHL. Name one duo where at least one of them has played at least one game this season. More obscure means more points, for a max of ten, so for example if you were to say a certain Canuck & his annoying brother, that’s easy as fuck so half a point. Since this requires some more brainpower, I’ll give you 20 seconds. Go”
“What if we dont know both their names?” “You’ll still get the points if you give one as long as it fits the criteria”
“Bro what the fuck?”
“Who the hell”
You sit there laughing at them as they try & come up with more obscure duos than the others. After 30 seconds, times up.
“Flip em boys”
L: Mikey & Ryan Mcleod (Go Devs!!)
S: P sure Adrian Kempe had a brother
D: Foudy Bros (CBJ!)
E: Willy & Alex Nylander
J: Reinhart (??)
P: Kevin Hayes
“Okay, honestly I dont know off the top of my head so imma google.”
“So Luke, you’re good, 2 points.  Dylan also good, three points .”
“Hey!” Luke protest
“Shut it. Your brother plays with one of them so its not worth as much.”
“Ethan’s secretly a Leafs fan confirmed. Also 3 points”
“Philippe & Steven. One of your boys have played this season so 5 points for more obscure”
“But Jacob, I’m impressed. Even though you weren’t sure, you not only got 2 brothers, you’ve got 3!! And only one of them has played this year, Mr Sam Reinhart. I would’ve given you more if you had at least one first name, so 7 points for you!! Be more confident in your answer next time”
“Woah woah woah 7?!” Steve says
“What would it have taken to get ten?” Phil muses
“My game, my rules. Okay!” You clap your hands “Time to see who our winner is.”
You’ve got the scores on the whiteboard in front of you, just have to tally them up
“Alright, so here’s our final ranking
On the bottom  Ethan with 5 points. You did terrible.
Not much better, we have Luke next with 6. What the hell babe, thats embarrassing for you.
Dylan in fourth with 7. Philippe with 9,
Stevn has 10
And our winner, Jacob! With 11 points!!
“WHOOOO!!”
“Can I just say, they’ve been alive longer than us so obviously they’d do better”
“Ethan age has literally nothing to do with this. You just suck.” Jacob says
You stand up and talk to the camera
“Before this ends up in an argument or wrestling on the floor, Thanks for watching everyone! If you want to see more with these lovable idiots, check out the UMich hockey social media accounts. Maybe they’ll make some vlog appearances too!
Love all you homies, see you in the next video!!
Luke pulls you down into his lap and you smile up at him while the boys argue, as your outro music plays in the video.
Arms wrap around your shoulder and Luke presses a kiss to your neck. “Done babe?”
Smiling, you lean back in your desk chair & tip your head back for a kiss. “Just about”
“Hurry up I want cuddles” he whines.
You giggle as you turn back to your laptop, double checking the title & thumbnail before scheduling the video to go live in place of your usual Sunday vlog. Hitting upload, you close you computer & join Luke on your bed.
“All done” you whisper before kissing him. He palms your ass, pulling you closer & says “good” before hungrily kissing you. You ignore the rest of your responsibilities to lay there together and cuddle, knowing your time like this is coming to an end soon.

Tear You Apart
Miguel O’Hara one shot where you purposely piss him off so he’ll pay more attention to you. Boy, you should’ve thought that one through.
18+
tumblr always fucks up my italics and underlines. sigh. let’s pretend i’m not too lazy to go back through and redo them
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You cross your legs over one another as you lean against the taxi’s door, pushing yourself into the corner so hard as if you could disappear like a hermit into a cave. Your heart pangs a bit in your chest, guilt rising to your throat.
No. No, this is well deserved. An outsider’s perspective would call you selfish, insensitive. But you’re not the only one who sacrificed things when you fell in love with NYC’s finest Spider-Man. You almost chuckle to yourself. Loved and feared by millions, it’s such a fine line. Thousands would kill to be in your place, so at least be grateful… right?
That’s what they’d say because they idolize him. You did too once, so you understand to an extent. But you know him as Miguel—your Miguel. It seems he doesn’t see himself that way anymore, though. Lately, it’s as if he’s Spider-Man all the time.
Dinner gone cold, nights spent alone with his side of the bed untouched—you untouched—notes instead of conversation. You tried to let it go, and you brought it up. You two always communicate with one another before it gets out of hand.
You open your phone to take another look at his text just an hour ago. Last night he promised you two would go out tonight, for dinner and drinks. Then time at home, a movie, and maybe a bath. You were excited.
Miguel <3
Gonna be late, meeting with the Commissioner.
(10:03 p.m ✓)
You chuckle to yourself bitterly as you place your phone back down into your lap, the hem of your dress riding up your thighs a little too much. Satin black, the exact dress you were wearing the night you two met. You haven’t worn it again since, he gets a bit handsy when he notices the way other men look at you; pulling you tighter, squeezing your ass. He gets jealous, very jealous, and so easily.
It’s perfect for the occasion. Not only that, but it draws the eye of a lot of people; not that you need the dress to do that.
The taxi pulls up to the curb outside of the bar you directed him to, people lingering around the entrance, smoking and talking and laughing. You should’ve invited your friends but you knew this night out wasn’t going to last too long. Only until Miguel notices you’re gone.
You know it won’t take long either. Not when he notices that your location is off.
After showing your ID to the bouncer and ordering a drink at the bar—something sweet, the way you like it—you sip it leisurely as you stand alone and watch the people around you. It’s packed in here, which you expected. It’s a Saturday night after all. It’s so loud you can hardly hear the jukebox playing despite it being maybe ten feet away. It hums a tired tune you can’t quite decipher but you can feel the melody in your fingertips.
You hold the cool glass as your lips wrap around the thin black straw, eyes darting around the room. You notice couples amongst it all and your heart sinks further. You miss Miguel, it should’ve been both of you standing here, talking and laughing over one another, fading into the background like any other couple. He’d become flushed with whiskey and he’d begin to grab at you knowingly and kiss your head. He just couldn’t help but show you off and parade you two together.
Miguel has never cared for the attention of other women, none but yours. He shows you off specifically so women stay away and men can be envious.
You’re deep in thought, back against the walls as you cross your ankle behind the other and realize your straw is simply stirring the ice with no drink left. You clear your throat, placing it on a high top nearby as you check your phone.
Miguel <3
Where are you?

Did you turn your location off?
(11:11 p.m ✓)
Miguel <3 Missed Call (1)
Miguel <3
??
(11:14 p.m ✓)
You don’t open your phone because your read receipts are on and your stomach hangs in guilt. Maybe you should go home. Maybe you should call him, it’s been about fifteen minutes since his last text and you’re wondering what could be going through his head right now.
You start to think maybe you’ve gone too far with this all. But before you can weigh the consequences of it, you feel hot breath on the side of your face, as well as grazing fingertips on your arm. The breath is hot and reeks of alcohol and stale peanuts and you physically cringe. The touch is unfamiliar, cold, and you instantly know it isn’t Miguel by the height of the mouth and the feel of his fingers.
You lower your phone and there’s a short, blonde man stumbling next to you. You firmly pull your arm away, tsking to yourself in disgust. You’re no damsel in distress and you certainly don’t find the need to be polite to some drunken asshole.
“Can I help you?” You sneer.
The man drunkenly smiles which makes you cringe. You’re taller than him in your heels and you’ve never realized what a short man epidemic there was in New York.
“What’s a pretty girl—“
“Like me doing in a place like this all alone?” You finish his sentence with an eye roll. What a cliche. “I’m waiting for someone.” You murmur to yourself, wishing you had just stayed home.
“That’s not what I see.” He slurs, stumbling slightly as he leans against the wall next to you. “If you were mine I’d never let you go out like that alone.” His eyes crawl up and down your body, glued to your exposed thighs. It makes your skin crawl.
“I guess it’s a good thing she isn’t.” A voice rips from behind the man and your head turns so fast your neck almost snaps at the speed. There Miguel stood, his tall, broad body a clear contrast against the blonde man’s, able to see from his breastplate above. He’s in his casual clothes; casual for home, not too casual for going out, though. A black t-shirt and gray sweatpants that both hug him in the best ways.
The man turns around after hearing Miguel’s intimidating, rich voice, first face to face with his chest before craning back his neck. He mumbles something before quickly scurrying away. You hug yourself as you push back into the wall, feeling like a deer caught in headlights. Miguel chuckles, lifting his chin as he takes you in.
Taking a large step forward and closing the distance between you two, he momentarily closes his eyes and exhales through his nose as you cross your arms over your chest and look up to him through large, guilt-ridden eyes. He gives a tight-lipped smile, pissed but maintaining his composure.
He’s so tall and there are only a few moments where you’ve felt intimidated by it; now was one of those times. His eyes rake over your figure, his large hand coming up so his fingers pad along your skin. He hums to himself, watching the way his fingers dance along your exposed shoulder. “You look nice, Mami.”
He inhales sharply again as he steps closer, little distance between the two of you now. Your head cranes back to look up at him. “I haven’t seen this dress in a while.” He remarks as he smooths a finger over the thin strap running up your shoulder.
“You’re here.” You say flatly. No, no you don’t feel bad, not at all. He broke his promise, he abandoned you again.
“You wanted my attention? Well, you got it.” Miguel whispers, lowering himself to your ear level as he takes a loose strand of hair between his thumb and forefinger to inspect. His calmness even when he’s infuriated is admirable, yet all the more intimidating.
“Do I?” You question with furrowed brows, pushing up onto your feet fully as you lean in to enunciate your point, eyes moving between both of his brown ones. They seem darker tonight. You cross your arms back over your chest. “Because it seems like I have to do a hell of a lot to get it.” Your nose scrunches as you whisper harshly, which he notices. He’s always thought it was cute, his eyes landing on your nose before flickering back to your eyes.
“¿Que se supone que significa eso?” He growls, getting as much in your face as you’re in his. It isn’t violent, no, it isn’t accusatory. It’s hurt. “What is that supposed to mean?” He repeats, now in English.
“You promised—!”
“I know what I promised.” He slices a firm hand through the air, exhaling slowly as his eyes fall shut. “You know I’d rather be with you but I’m working. I work so you don’t have to worry, so you can be safe.”
Miguel wipes a hand down his face as he sighs again, shaking his head again. “We’re going home.”
“You’re going home. I’m having a good time.” You back away, leaning back against the wall to resume looking at the others around you.
“It really seems like it.” Miguel tilts his head to survey your expression before grabbing your arm. “We’re leaving.”
You pull your arm from his grasp. Miguel grits his teeth, shaking his head. “You’re going to stay?”
You nod. He breathes out slowly, calming himself as his face grows neutral. He nods to himself, which causes you to raise a brow. “Fine. Don’t mind me, then.”
You cock a brow. “You’re staying?”
“If you are.” He nods, leaning against the wall next to you.
You huff in annoyance, rolling your eyes as you leave him and strut back to the bar to order another drink. You wait patiently, leaning against the bar top as your eyes scan the drink specials written on a chalkboard. You settle for another sweet drink.
The bartender turns to you, wiping his hands with a towel before throwing it over his shoulder. Your eyes wander his chest and his large muscles and you smile while batting your lashes. He flashes a perfect set of teeth, bright beneath the LED lights. “What can I get for you, darling?”
“Can I have a long island?” You smile, leaning in and pushing your breasts together with your inner arms. He notices this, eyes trailing to your chest before flickering back to your face with a smile. He nods. “Anything for a pretty girl like you.”
You hum a smile, acting coy. That’s one thing that stood out with Miguel when you first met him; he didn’t bombard you with sweet talk that you’re sure he used with any pretty girl who showed him the smallest shred of attention. No, he was just charming in himself, the way you spoke with such respect and confidence. So sad that something so basic can become so unheard of and wanted.
You miss your lover and you wish you didn’t have to be in this situation, but you’re both too stubborn to back down, even when each other is at risk. But you both know that you couldn’t shake him even if you tried.
You look over your shoulder as you wait for your drink, Miguel standing a few tables away, simply watching you as his arms cross over his chest and his thumb taps his forearm. He’s jealous but he’s giving you your space. He stands so tall above the crowd, he’s like a beacon for you to always come back to. God, he’s so tall. It would almost be intimidating if you didn’t know any better.
After giving your last name for your tab, the bartender slides your drink across the counter top and you grab it with light hands, sipping it flirtatiously with thanks. He’s too busy to keep his eye on you, to entertain you though; he has a job to do, after all.
You lean against the bar, poking your ass out with an arched back as you sip your drink slowly, humming to yourself. Your hair gathers to one side over your shoulder as you look up at the LED lights with a squint. A sigh escapes your lips as you wonder how long Miguel will let this charade run until he’s dragging you out by force.
You make a choice: you flag down the bartender and close out your tab, taking one last drag from your drink before pushing yourself from the bar and slipping through the crowd and out the bar door. Despite your apartment being about twenty blocks away, you turn on the sidewalk and begin walking. You don’t bother to look behind you to know Miguel is close behind.
You turn a corner into an abandoned alley, hearing Miguel’s footsteps follow you. As soon as you’re in deep enough, you turn around and forcefully push his abdomen in the direction of the wall, though he doesn’t budge. You scowl aloud, throwing your hands up in frustration.
“Fuck you!” You yell. He grabs your elbows so you can’t move or push him further.
He’s silent. You push at him again, trying to free yourself, but it doesn’t work. Your anger is boiling over at this point.
You push against him again and he lets go, the both of you staring at one another as your lips part in a pant. He looks just as angry as you are and for good reason.
“I didn’t know where you were.” He mumbles, shaking his head. “Do you know what that’s like? I thought someone might’ve…” He can’t even bring himself to finish his sentence. He swallows.
“And thank god Lyla could ping your location after dumping your phone.” He mutters under his breath with a head shake, letting out a bitter chuckle.
“You dumped my phone?” Your brows furrow in anger as your tone fluctuates as you scoff.
“What did you want me to do? You were gone, your location was off. What am I supposed to do?” Miguel grits his teeth.
You almost laugh in his face at the way he feels so entitled. “Has it ever occurred to you that I could just be out? I have a life outside you, you know.”
You both stare at one another again. The way the yellow street light hits the side of his face makes his features look softer than usual, and you know it’s pure illusion, considering how pissed he is. “I think you should leave.” You mumble, crossing your arms as you stare at your feet. Your lashes are feeling extra heavy right now. “…For a few days.”
Miguel shakes his head, his anger boiling over. “¿Cómo me puedos preguntar eso? Hm?” He grabs you by your shoulders so you’re forced to look at him. He mutters in Spanish under his breath, shaking his head again. You’re still learning, but you know the extent of what he’s saying; how could you say such a thing? Ask him to leave you.
“I’m not leaving you.” He says firmly. Tears well in your eyes, you push at him, but his hands go to grab your arms again so you can’t push him. You pull away but still, he doesn’t budge.
A push and a smack, a kick, it’s all effective. He’s bent down so you’re face to face, breathing so heavily, tears streaming down your face. Your heart is heavy and you miss him already, despite him standing in front of you. And in the heat of the moment, you throw yourself at him instead, attaching your lips to his as you, at first, kiss him deeply.
Miguel grabs the small of your back, pulling him against you harshly as he straightens up and picks you up to follow, your lips never parting as your kisses become more and more hungry and needy. You bite down on his bottom lip harshly and he winces a groan, fingertips digging into your back and a hand cupping your ass in what could be support, but you know better; he could lift you with one arm if need be.
Your feet meet ground again and he pushes you into the building behind you as he hunches down to meet your mouth. Your hands stroke his face gently as he finds the back of your thigh to lift your leg against his side. You pull away, breathing heavily as he kisses your cheek, trailing kisses down to your chin and neck as you dive your hands to dig into his thick hair.
You tug at his roots as he leaves sloppy kisses down your skin, licking and nipping as you pant into open air over his shoulder. You can see his back, one hand sauntering down to scratch back up it as he groans into your ear. With one hand lifting your leg, the other tangles into your hair, his thumb resting on your cheek as his fingers tug at your scalp.
Your eyes pinch shut as you buck your hips, your cunt exposed to the air as he pushes into you, growing wetter and wetter with every kiss that’s planted on your skin.
Miguel feverishly kisses you again, but only for a moment before pulling away and looking at you with parted lips. Your cheeks are still wet, wiping at your tears. You swallow thickly, taking a moment to breathe and realize the predicament you’ve both found yourself in.
“What do you want mi vida?” He breathes a whisper.
Your hands find your way back to his cheeks, holding his face and analyzing his features to appreciate the man in front of you. Your thumbs stroke his cheeks. “You.” You whisper.
Miguel nods, straightening up as he lets your leg down gently before gripping your waist, pulling you into him, kneeling down so you can lock your arms around his neck. With one last look around, he shoots a web out and you two are pulled from the ground in seconds, speeding up the building's side as he keeps one arm locked around your waist. Before you can reach the top, he shoots another, swinging from building to building as you hike your legs up to secure yourself. You brush over his bulging erection and he sighs a quick groan, now swinging faster.
Now amongst higher buildings, Miguel shoots his webbing mid-swing against a very tall apartment building, creating a thick webbed-like bed that he swings into and lays you down on. You gasp, afraid to let go. He knows you hate heights.
“I’ve got you.” He purrs, coming down on top of you, two hands on either side of your head. “I’ve got you baby.”
You look around you, the wind blowing in your face as you see the city twinkle below you. You’re tucked into a small nook near the roof, your arms never leaving his back as you hold on. You look back at him, seeing his eyes are dark with lust. “Couldn’t wait to get home?”
He shakes his head, his fangs poking just below his bottom lip as he looks at you with parted lips. Oh. He dives back into your neck, kissing you as his hands pin your hips to the web, grinding harshly against your cunt. You moan out, and he nips you a little too hard with his fangs, causing you to wince and cry out a bit into his ear.
He shushes you, picking you up off the web so he can grind into your harsher as you let out a whimper. He hovers above you, looking down at the friction between you two. Miguel licks his lips at your desperation, his claws digging into your ass as he lifts you up, not enough pressure to break the skin but enough to make you stir in his arms.
You buck your hips against his hardness, wanting it to hit your clit just right. He lets out a low chuckle.
“So impatient.” Miguel tsks.
You moan. “Please.”
“Why should I?” He pauses his movements which causes you to let out a whimper at the loss of pressure. You shake your head.
“Trying to make me jealous?” He kisses your chest slowly but doesn’t resume grinding which makes you pout. He hums between the kisses, vibrating your skin. “Make me watch you as you parade yourself to other men.” He sighs into your skin.
“You’re mine.” One hand comes up beneath you to grip your hair harshly, pulling it so your head tilts upwards. He bites your breast, puncturing it slightly with his fangs, crimson blood pooling at the small wound. You moan mixed with a wince. “Say it.”
You hesitate. Not because you’re unsure but because all that’s on your mind is pure sex and you can’t concentrate. He pulls your hair again which causes you to whimper. “Say it.” He demands. “You’re mine. You will always be mine.”
You pant out. His tone is demanding and aggressive, staking his claim over you. “I’m yours.” You nod, swallowing gently. “I’ll always be yours.”
“Good girl.” He whispers into your ear, releasing his grip on your hair and running his hands down your sides to lift your ass up and stroke into you.
“You want this?” He asks and you nod, pleading with him as you whine.
Without another word, he untucks himself from his pants, aggressively pulling your dress up. No time for foreplay, not when you’re this wet.
Palming his cock, he wipes his finger over his tip before aligning it with your cunt, swiping it up and down your slit as you shudder and moan, clenching at the feeling already. You let out a high moan as he continues to swipe up and down, slapping it onto the top of your pussy before inserting the tip into your entrance slowly.
You gasp. Even after all this time, you’re still shocked by how big he is. It fills you every time, stretching you out to remember it. He gives a little push and quickly pulls out, teasing your entrance and you fall into a string of moans and curses as he cups the top of your pussy and rubs your clit.
“Fuck,” your eyes fall close as your brows pull together. Miguel shushes you again.
“It’s not even in yet baby, not all the way. Yet you’re a mess for me.” He whispers, igniting chills over your skin.
He completely thrusts into you with no warning, walking your cunt up and pushing it to make room for him. Miguel has always been slow, sensual, considerate, but not right now. No, you pissed him off, and now he’s taking it out on you. You wince, the feeling of it all being too much.
Falling into you, one hand presses down on your lower stomach as he leans onto his other arm, fisting your hair. “You can take it.” He says as he begins to pound you with little mercy, causing you to lose your own voice and go mute for a moment.
“That’s it, you can take it.” He purrs and you find your voice again, deeply inhaling as you let out soft cries. Your walls adjust around him, allowing him access as his tip hits something deep inside you, hammering it over and over in a mix of pain and pleasure.
His face buries into your neck as he moans uncontrollably, though he hates to give you the satisfaction of knowing you love when he’s vocal. He’s teaching you a lesson, he cannot let himself fall blind within his pleasure deep within your pussy.
It feels as if something is missing, that you’re incomplete as your clit is unattended to since he usually takes care of it himself. Your hand falls down to your clit and he snatches it back before you can touch yourself, holding it up against your head as you scratch his back in retaliation, shaking his head. “Good girls deserve good things. But you weren’t very nice, were you…?”
You whine, clenching around him which causes him to grit his teeth as he yanks at your scalp. He pumps into your harsher, if that were even possible, faster, as if in a blind rage. Your entrance begins to burn at the friction, but it feels so good, you can’t bring yourself to protest.
Your stomach begins to bulge and feel full, bloated. His hand goes back down and rests on it, feeling the way he fills you and loving it. He lets out a long moan followed by a curse, his head falling back as he slows his strokes, grinding into you at a much more controlled pace.
Your hand travels to his abdomen, feeling the hardness of it and the way he flexes as he strokes into you. Now towering above you, his other hand coming up to rest over yours. You can feel the web sag beneath your combined weight, though you can’t bring yourself to be cautious or care enough about it snapping.
You’re dating Spider-man, after all. Though unpleasant and embarrassing, he’d save you.
You love the way he feels beneath your fingertips. You feel yourself tighten up, clenching around him as you’re riding to the top of your upcoming orgasm. He can tell, moving his hand from atop yours to cup your face. “You want to cum, baby?”
You nod, lips parted as you breathe out in pants. He rubs your face, his other hand moving to squeeze the inside of your thigh as he cradles your face. Miguel sighs with a nod. He’s feeling generous tonight.
“You want to cum all over my cock, mi belle?” He encourages the question and you moan in reply. He nods to himself, holding himself back as well.
His thumb goes down to rub your clit and you choke on your whine, slightly raising yourself up only for him to push you back down into the web. “Cum for me mami.”
The sensation of his cock hitting your spot and his thumb sensually rubbing your clit pushes you over and edge and you gasp out in silence, Miguel rocking into you at a consistent rate so you’re filled up to the brim, unsure whether or not you can contain yourself. Everything swims in your head: your fight, the way he kissed you, the way he held your elbows until you calmed down.
“Fuck!” You scream out as you reach your climax, pulling Miguel down into you as you wrap your arms and legs around him in need of him closer as he fucks you. You bury your face into his neck, breathing hard as you go rigid against him and he holds you in his arms, whispering sweet words into your ear as he kisses your cheek gently.
“Fuck,” you breathe out another cry as your legs shake.
As you ride out your high, your cunt tingling as your body falls into itself, Miguel picks up his pace in fucking you as he groans and moans into your skin and you clench against his cock.
“Oh fuck, I love you.” He moans as he leaves sloppy, wet kisses along your collarbone, spreading your ass apart as he fills you with cum. You feel his cock twitch inside you, that’s how big he is so that you’re left with little leeway, and you feel a warmth within your stomach as he pounds into your cervix. You rub his back as you pant, returning his comforting praise as he did you.
He empties his seed into you. “Never leave me.” He pleads amongst his high, and you agree, feeling the way his strokes become sloppy, messy. “I’ll never leave you.” You whisper as he groans, pulling out of you with a sigh, looking down between the two of you as he pants.
Sweat gleams his forehead and you push back his hair from his face, admiring the way he glows atop you with swollen lips parted in heavy breath. He pulls your dress down before tucking himself back into his pants, your legs falling from his sides as he kisses you deeply.
“I…” He begins, trailing off, dropping his head with a sigh. “Los siento, mi amor.”
You hush him, bringing a finger to his lips to stop him. He kisses it and you smile. “I shouldn’t have made you jealous.” You admit, caressing his face as you push his hair back. “I just… wanted you to pay attention to me.”
“I always do mi vida.” He kisses you again. “But I haven’t done a good job of expressing it lately, have I?”
You shake your head and he chuckles. “I’ll do better.” He tucks a strand of your hair behind your ear and you nod in agreement.
“Okay.” You hum, smiling as you peck a quick kiss on his lips. “Let’s go home then, yeah? It’s freezing.” You shiver slightly.
He chuckles with a nod, pulling you close to him as he shoots out a web. “Let’s go home.”

I didn't go to Coachella because I hate the desert, and also, I have an adult job that requires me to actually do work (ugh capitalism) but I did go to the opening for the new Neat Burger location in NYC and here are my thoughts.
So first things first, we ordered A LOT of food between my bestie and I. We got the Neat burger, the cheez Burger, The buffalo chickn burger, the chicken fingers, the tater tots, the fries (spicy), 2 shakes (strawberry and biscotti), and a lemonade. We wanted to try a bit of everything to form an opinion.
The Neat burger is just a double cheese burger with Neat sauce (not sure what the sauce was or was supposed to taste like because it wasn't really flavorful). There was no difference between the two for me. I hated the burgers lol but I knew I would because it's a soy based patty and I don't like those so welp). 4/10
The Buffalo chicken burger was really good. The sauce 👌🏾👌🏾. The chickn patty has a much better consistency than the faux beef patties. 7/10
The chickn tendies were probably my favorite meat substitute. They were crunchy and flavorful. 8/10
The tater tots were tasty but greasy. We could see the oil pooling at the bottom which wasn't great. 6/10.
The French fries were great. I ordered them spicy but you could order them plain or with cheese on top. They weren't actually spicy, the just dusted Cajun seasoning on top but they were crunchy and tasty. They don't beat McDonald's but they were pretty good. 7/10
The lemonade tasted like actual lemons which was a plus but its pretty difficult to screw up lemonade so I'm indifferent. 5/10
The shakes. The shakes were the best part of the meal. They were REALLY good. Like if you go for nothing else, go for the shakes. Both the strawberry and biscotti were great but the flavors didn't taste artificial or overpowering. It's even better when you know you wont feel like crap later for drinking so much dairy. 10/10
Lastly, the ambience was a solid 10. The decor was a vibe. The staff were kind and they had live music (a saxophone player) which was cool.

I just realized I forgot to mention this on here, but I flew to New York City for the first time last month and managed to cross that off my bucket list! I primarily went for a concert but managed to see a bunch of other cool stuff there. Originally I considered visiting Atlanta again instead, but surprisingly, NYC was actually cheaper
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My family and I got a hotel room with a city view and stayed for about 3 days. We went to Times Square a few times, both during the day and during the night, and for some reason I expected it to be bigger and more spacious, but it was still great just to be there, so no complaints from me! We also took a ferry ride at night time and saw some bridges plus the Statue of Liberty. Street food was also pretty good, I had a good spicy hot dog that made my eyes water 😂
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The concert was held in Madison Square Garden and I saw ITZY perform. Since I had enough local storage cleared up on my phone, I was actually able to record the whole thing, but I wasn't able to post it on YouTube because it kept getting blocked for copyright, which is odd because someone else was able to upload their recording of the same concert successfully, but oh well. I managed to get a good seat closer to the stage, so while it was kind of difficult to see about half the time with me being short and all, I did still get some great views of the performance
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My family and I went to a good burger place called Jackson Hole Burgers on 3rd Avenue, I wish they had locations here in Florida because their food was pretty great. We also went to the top of the Empire State Building and the Top of The Rock Observatory above the Rockefeller Center for some great views of the city. We visited the 9/11 memorial, and took a subway for the first time. The first station we tried was really confusing to navigate and we ended up not being able to go on anywhere, but we tried a different station later and that one was more simple. I don't remember the names of the stations we tried, though. We also went to Koreatown and got a bunch of snacks from a grocery store there, I tried bean paste for the first time and I'm surprised that I like it because I don't like beans and it turns out bean paste actually isn't made of those! That's all I can remember from our trip at the moment. It wasn't as cold as I expected it to be, so whenever I went indoors in my heavy winter clothing, I kept feeling like I was gonna have a heat stroke. It was cold outside, but indoor temperatures were very different and I was not prepared for that 💀
But yeah, 10/10 would recommend, maybe I'll visit again someday once I can climb out of all this credit card debt I'm in now

Heya! Hope you're okay with some train rambles?
I've been researching trains/subways systems from around the world, then I remembered that my home city, Montréal, has one! So I went in and checked around for info, and consider me surprised! Apparently it's the second most expansive system, only behind NY! And there's already constructions ongoing to expand the Blue Line to add another 5 stations on top of the 68 there are right now, not to mention all the buses and trains to the suburbs (all are handled by a single company, so everything is on time and even the bus lines are so good)
I remember clearly when they phased out the MR-63 trains to the newer MR-73 around 1977, though visually they were pretty similar, and ran together on the same lines. It's pretty cool that the MR-63 were the original trains since opening of the system in 1966! And didn't fully retire until 2018! Not to mention the new MPM-10 aka "Azur" (name was decided by the people through polls) which are amazingly well-made by Bombardier, who made all the STM's trains as well as some iconic monorails!
So when Azur launched and they were still phasing out the MR-63, there were moments that, on one station in particular, Lionel-Groulx, which have all 4 connecting lines in an open station pattern, you could see all 3 models running at the same time together!
Tumblr media
And all stations were built to have very different styles and looks! Some have stained glass walls, some are colorful, some lean more into brutalism with pops of colors, etc. They're very beautiful, and many have ties to the very locations they were built on! The stations themselves are a huge part of the underground city too, as it only exists due to them!
And one thing I really like about the Métro is that they all run on primary rubber tires and only have conventional steel wheels as backup or during track changes! They have little concrete rollways next to the tracks and the third rail. It's pretty neat!
And soon with the new Tramway they're building (which I see the constructions often enough, it's getting built so fast!), there's going to be even more trains!
TL;DR: I took my city's subway for granted, and turns out there's so many cool facts I didn't know!
Aaaah, this is so much wonderful information - thank you for sharing it with me! I'm so glad you're finding a real love for your local public transportation - once you really get to know your system inside and out, you can get yourself and other people pretty much anywhere and really explore down there, and it's so fun, especially if you find out stations were abandoned, etc. This sounds like a newer system, so you might not have as much abandoned stuff to look for as I do, but you never know!
I believe the Metro in Paris also uses a rubber wheel system. Rubber wheels actually allow for faster acceleration, which is more efficient for a public transit system in a large city since you're able to move more people faster that way. It gives you an advantage when going uphill, too!
I wonder if you've got a local transit museum that preserves some of those older cars, too. Here in NYC, we have the New York Transit Museum, which maintains some of our older rolling stock and even brings it out for rides (I'm taking some 1930s cars out to Coney Island for a jaunt in early July and I'm stoked!). Hopefully they're preserving examples of the older cars for your subway, too!
I am actually seriously delighted when other people tell me about their local trains - it makes me so happy and I love that I get to share this genuine passion of mine with other people and hear about trains from all over the world! It's a nice unifying feeling - we all have to get places, and we all have really cool ways of getting to them.

2023 by the numbers
Another year, another opportunity reflect... 2023 had good and not so good... so here is the year by the numbers...
1.7+ million steps taken & nearly 800 miles walked
116 hats donated and achieved a 10 year milestone of 1065 winter accessories donations.
30 museums of various sorts visited, more than half of which I’d never been to before (check out my new blog page which includes all my travel recommendations - nerdcation locations.)
8 years of civil service
7 states traveled to: Alaska, California, Colorado, DC, Illinois, New York, Virginia, (8 if you count the 5 hours in the Dallas airport)
7 years of Ally is a Verb (although I’ll be stepping back in 2024 to focus on other things and avoid the angst of the algorithm)
3rd season and so many Sundays as a guest artist with my friends at the Baltimore Farmer’s Market selling photographs, mixed media pieces, and watercolor notecards
2 great vacations in Manhattan and the Hudson Valley – all filled with art and air and awe and reflection
And a few solid reminders that depression and anxiety are chronic conditions that need ongoing attention, so my mental health is going to be a big focus in 2024…. breathing, creating, meditating, exploring, and remaining present (and avoiding that dang spiral).
I have so much for which I am grateful and that includes so many of you.

Why Did Forever 21 File For Bankruptcy? "Forever 21 has been practically synonymous with “fast fashion” and its massive stores have become a common fixture in America’s shopping malls. But the retailer is in trouble, Forever 21 filed for bankruptcy in September 2019. The brand is now closing hundreds of stores, as its clothes become more interchangeable with “cheap” rather than “trendy.”
Video Source: CNBC
More information about Why Did Forever 21 File For Bankruptcy? Well, complement the information and case study presented in the video with the  article, written by The Brand Hopper:
" Forever 21 Bankruptcy : Why And How Did Forever 21 Fail? A few years ago, Forever 21 was ruling the mall as a spectacular success story, but in 2019, it took a tumble into bankruptcy court, signaling what seemed to be an unhappy ending. Back in 1984, South Korean immigrants Jin Sook and Do Wan Chang kicked off the chain with a modest $11,000 they had saved from their low-paying service jobs. Their first store, a tiny 900-square-foot space in Northeast Los Angeles, catered to a young crowd, mainly Korean-Americans, offering them cheap and trendy clothing.
Founders, Forever 21 | The Brand Hopper Founders, Forever 21 The couple had a well-thought-out plan. They adopted a fast-fashion business model, producing quick-turnaround designs that could be mass-produced inexpensively. This approach struck a chord with young customers who desired the latest looks without spending a fortune. By 2015, global sales soared to an impressive $4.4 billion, with a staggering 480 stores occupying vast spaces in malls all over America. Sook and Chang’s wealth skyrocketed, and they amassed a combined net worth of nearly $6 billion. However, the couple couldn’t have predicted the onset of the “retail apocalypse,” which started in 2017 and posed a threat to nearly every retail chain. Thousands of stores across the U.S. shut down this year, with Coresight Research anticipating a total of 12,000 closures by year’s end, surpassing the 5,844 closures in 2018.
The rapidly changing retail landscape placed immense pressure on Forever 21, eventually leading the privately held company to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in late September of 2019. As part of its survival plan, the company revealed it would cease operations in 40 countries, including Canada and Japan, and shut down 350 of its 800 stores, including 178 in the U.S. The story of Forever 21’s dramatic rise and fall echoes across the retail landscape, yet there are specific factors that contributed to the chain’s troubles. Let’s uncover the top three reasons why Forever 21 struggled to maintain its dominance.
Table of Contents
Excessive Stores and Oversized Spaces
Insufficient Emphasis on Online Retail
The Shift to Sustainable Practices
Excessive Stores and Oversized Spaces
Forever 21 experienced a rapid expansion, going from outlets in seven countries to an impressive 47 in just six years. While many other retail chains were downsizing due to the retail apocalypse, Forever 21 was still opening new stores as late as 2016.
One major issue that contributed to the brand’s struggles was their ambitious approach to physical retail space. Forever 21 stores were not only numerous but also quite large, with an average size of 38,000 square feet, and some locations taking up massive spaces, like the Times Square store in New York City spanning 91,000 square feet and a mall store in Las Vegas reaching 127,000 square feet.
Forever 21 NYC Store | The Brand Hopper
Forever 21 NYC Store The retailer eagerly ventured into costly, large-scale new stores abroad, but without the necessary local expertise. In just a decade, it expanded from having seven international stores in 2005 to a staggering 262. In the filing, Forever 21 revealed that the majority of its international locations were not profitable by 2015. Over the past year, its stores in Canada, Europe, and Asia were collectively facing losses of around $10 million per month. In total, the annual occupancy cost of all Forever 21 stores amounted to $450 million.
This extensive retail space came with a hefty price tag in terms of rent and operational costs. As sales declined by 20% to 25%, the company found it challenging to meet the high demands of premier locations while facing tough competition from fast-fashion giants like Zara and H&M. Moreover, Forever 21’s large store closures had ripple effects on the malls where they were located. These stores were like anchor tenants, and their shutdowns impacted the overall health of the malls they were in.
Interestingly, while many retailers were shifting towards smaller footprints and embracing digital strategies, Forever 21 was going in the opposite direction with its extensive physical stores. This approach was contrary to the evolving trends in the industry, where retailers were looking to cut costs while still providing accessible brand experiences to consumers.
In the face of retail challenges, other brands were exploring innovative strategies, such as opening smaller pop-up shops and flagship stores to enhance the customer experience. This demonstrated a shift in the retail landscape, with businesses repositioning themselves to survive and adapt to changing consumer behaviors.
Insufficient Emphasis on Online Retail One of Forever 21’s significant missteps was their lack of focus on bolstering their e-commerce platform, despite their core customer base being young people who prefer shopping online.
In today’s retail landscape, digital presence has become crucial for survival, and most stores rely on it to thrive. For brands targeting younger consumers, digital is the driving force behind their business. Although Forever 21 claimed that 16% of their sales came from online channels, they seemingly missed the mark on realizing the potential of online retail.
Brands like ASOS or Fashion Nova, with their strong online presence, understood the preference of digitally-savvy customers who prefer to shop online, try on the items, and easily return them if needed.
While outdated retail businesses that ignore current trends are facing closures, completely dismissing the value of physical stores might not be entirely accurate. The key lies in paying attention to customers’ changing preferences and desires in this ever-evolving retail landscape.
The Shift to Sustainable Practices One of the most significant missteps made by Forever 21’s leadership was their failure to recognize a crucial shift in consumer attitudes towards fast fashion. The once successful business model thrived until the world woke up to the urgent realities of climate change.
As awareness of environmental issues grew, the fashion industry faced increasing scrutiny for its significant contribution to global carbon emissions and wastewater. Fast fashion, with its focus on synthetic fabrics and rapid production, shouldered much of the blame for these alarming statistics, as it generated enormous amounts of waste. The younger generation, in particular, took charge of the sustainability movement, demanding that businesses take responsibility for their environmental impact. Many former fast-fashion enthusiasts, once loyal to stores like Forever 21, abandoned them in favor of clothing that was more durable and eco-friendly, eschewing the throwaway culture associated with fast fashion. Young consumers are now much more conscious of sustainability issues and willing to invest in higher quality, longer-lasting clothing. The days of frequenting fast-fashion stores multiple times a year are waning, as Gen Zers prioritize brands that align with their values and demonstrate genuine commitment to sustainability.
To survive in this changing landscape, companies like Forever 21 need to integrate sustainability efforts into all aspects of their business, not just in their product offerings. It’s not enough to create sustainable collections; they must also reflect their values in marketing, messaging, and online engagement with customers.
Zara and H&M were commended for rolling out sustainable collections in response to this growing demand, showcasing the industry’s trend towards upcycling, recycling, and clothing rental as part of their commitment to sustainability. For Forever 21 and others, embracing sustainability is no longer an option but a necessity to stay relevant and appealing to the environmentally-conscious consumer base. "

11.05.2023_Post_003 ~ Lucia Pizza
Oh Flushing, both an epicenter of chaos, and my local subway stop…where to begin.
“Take the 7 train to Flushing Main St, head straight to Lucia Pizza, and squeeze into the tiny restaurant for a stand up slice (there’s usually nowhere to sit). Another NY-style, thin slice, its makers have seemingly mastered the art of melding just the right amounts of sugar, salt, grease, and cheese into the perfect storm of pizza.” - Thrillist
Lucia Pizza opened on Roosevelt Avenue in downtown Flushing, Queens, in place since the Mets first year of 1962. One of the largest central business districts in all of New York City, downtown Flushing is a major commercial and retail area. (The intersection of Main Street and Roosevelt Avenue is the third-busiest in NYC, behind Times Square and Herald Square.) Often referred to as “the Chinese Manhattan” or “the Queens Chinatown”, the densely populated Asian community has bustling packed streets filled with fruit and vegetable vendors, fish markets, and Asian imported clothing boutiques. The insane foot traffic is cemented with access to both the Long Island Rail Road & 7 train subway, with Citi Field and Flushing Meadows Corona Park only one stop away. (The Flushing-Main Street station is the busiest stop in NYC outside of Manhattan.) Nestled in between all the action just outside the subway is Lucia Pizza, a five stool-top counter service pizzeria serving chicken wings, garlic knots, Jamaican beef patties, and of course, pizza.
Just like the 7 train and the Mets, Lucia Pizza is ultimately a hit or miss. The joint is coming out with freshly made pizza consistently all day, so you’re always guaranteed a hot slice. The one I had was tasty, but an oily mess with the cheese falling off the slice. In 2023, Lucia Pizza opened their second sister location in Bayside, which I’ve also had before and have enjoyed much better than the Flushing location. Final word: Lucia Pizza is a solid place to get a PIE of pizza at to take home: as for a slice, Flushing has several better locations in the general vicinity. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a per say bad slice, & it does essentially have the OG pizza monopoly of the intersection, but I say if you’re in the area looking for a quick cheap bite, go for the dumpling shops instead.
CRUST: 7.5/10

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is the difference between a hair colorist and a regular hairstylist?
A hair colorist specializes in coloring hair, focusing on techniques like highlights, lowlights, and full-color changes. Regular hairstylists provide a range of services, including haircuts and styling.
2. How long does a typical hair coloring session with an NYC hair colorist take?
The duration of a hair coloring session can vary depending on the complexity of the desired look. On average, it can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours.
3. Is it necessary to book an appointment with an NYC hair colorist, or can I walk in?
While some salons may accept walk-ins, it’s recommended to book an appointment in advance to ensure you receive personalized attention and avoid long wait times.
4. What can I do to make my hair color last longer?
To maintain your hair color, use color-safe shampoos and conditioners, limit exposure to direct sunlight, and avoid excessive heat styling. Regular touch-up appointments with your NYC hair colorist are also essential.
5. Can I change my hair color dramatically in one session with an NYC hair colorist?
Yes, you can achieve a significant change in one session, but it depends on your hair’s current condition and your desired outcome. Some transformations may require multiple sessions for the best results.
