My mcr shirt collection đ
I don't mean this as a form of flexing/bragging, really I just like cataloging stuff. Also, it might give people some ideas of what to hunt for? Iâll explain where I got everything as best as I can/remember!
Frank solo shirts:
⢠cross anchor shirt - bought at a 2014 show.
⢠Friday the 13th parody âI hope I die before they save my soulâ shirt - bought at a show in either 2015 or 2016
Gerard solo:
G âwarm and fuzzyâ - bought online in 2015 maybe? I cropped it but sadly it's a little short now.
G âGerard Wayâ white shirt - I think this was apart of a package deal when you bought the CD? Bought online in 2014!!
Hesitant Alien crewneck - Bought online in 2014!! I love this one, it's so soft I wear it to sleep often.
My Chem:
âNewark, NJâ Castle shirt - Bought on depop probably around 2016. This particular one I think was sold as a 10 year anniversary version of the original design back in 2011. thereâs a Roman numeral X on the back to mark 10 years.
âRide it like you stole itâ hearse shirt - bought at a hot topic outlet store in upstate New York in 2014! One of my faves
"Wanted" Killjoys shirt - Bought either on ebay or depop back in probably 2017ish!! another one I cropped. I only started to wear this more recently, but I love the design.
âTake it like a manâ electric chair re-release shirt. From the 2022 online re-release.
projekt revolution shirt with your dates on the back - newest find! Bought in a record store in New Jersey just last month.
Skeleton mask shirt - found at a local flea market! I think it was originally sold during the black parade era and was actually a series of misprinted shirts.
"Gerald" Bathroom shirt - Gerard's Mystery shirt from the 2022 tour. Bought at the 2nd Toronto date!
Milky Way shirt - Mikey's Mystery shirt from the 2022 tour. Bought at the same date!
+ Bonus
Gerard's 2010 Comic Con Hawaiian shirt - Yes I'm counting this!!! Although not exactly his shirt, it's the same fabric pattern. Bought on a vintage store website back in 2016. I wear this all the time lmfao

It's a long story, but way back in 2016 I went to Toronto Comic Con with my buddy Justin to shoot some footage for a music video.
"Geeks in Love" was one of the singles off my geek music record "Borken Telephone" and I was lucky enough to get The Doubleclicks to join me for the track! I wanted to do this song justice!
The footage was great, but life got busy. We shot 3 other music videos in a single day the same week, but I just couldn't find the time or energy to figure out how to edit my very silly and spur-of-the-moment video ideas into a proper video.
So I moved the footage onto a hard drive, and after 4 international moves in 5 years, I lost track of it entirely.
Until last week.
I recently moved (again) and found the hard drive (and the footage) while I was unpacking.
Watching the raw capture made me realize how much I MISS conventions. This pandemic has been hard. Really hard. I miss my friends. I miss the geek community. I miss the low murmur of 10,000 nerds in a big room.
So I decided to finally edit the footage together into a video. It's cut together rough, and it's corny as heck, and the pandemic has left me a little more jaded and cynical than the very earnest guy who appeared in this video. But I needed a little corny. I needed to remember there will be good things to go back to. Eventually, when it's safe.
And I needed to remember the amazing community of people we're sacrificing to protect until it's safe to gather again.
So here's me saying I love you all, I miss you, and I'll see you on the other side of this!

Gillovny headcanon: When David finished filming s10 before Gillian, he took a picture of himself at the airport. A day or 2 later, Gillian finished filming, and headed to Toronto for a comic con. I always thought he went to Toronto ahead of her and they had some time together that was not working time. (If memory serves, I think she went somewhere else in Ontario right afterwards to film American Gods? I think he joined her a few days there, too.)
Honestly I didnât even remember his tweet so I just had to go track it down. In my quest, I also came across a tweet by a guy on the same flight as David who is from exactly where you said...Toronto đ Well well well. Never considered that head canon before anon so thanks for sharing! I guess even after three months together they still couldnât get enough of each other â¤ď¸
As for American Gods...was that not in 2016? đ¤ After Streetcar? I do remember people suspecting David was there though both in June and possibly August âşď¸
That actually reminds me of a David/American Gods headcanon I forgot about. Will have to share sometime...

have you ever spontaneously spent a whole paycheck on one thing? have you ever been on a blind date? have you ever been to a con?
hi sophie tysm for asking 3 questions and successfully distracting me from my digital cultures class which i loathe <3
yes i have spontaneously spent a whole paycheck on one thing LOL (đĽ˛)
no ive never been on a blind date :0
yes ive been to many cons :') ive been to around 3 or 4 spn cons (none for a very long time tho i think the last one was 2016-ish) and a lot of local cons with my friends (anime north, toronto comic con, fan expo to name a few annual ones). i havent been to any local ones since before covid tho and tbh the huge crowds and general ickiness surrounding those big ones were turnoffs before the pandemic so i def feel like ive outgrown them at this point.
send me âhave you everâsâ and ill answer with yes or no >:)

Danny Glover
Danny Lebern Glover (born July 22, 1946) is an American actor, film director, and political activist.
Glover is well known for his leading role as Roger Murtaugh in the Lethal Weapon film series, The Color Purple (1985), To Sleep with Anger (1990) and Angels in the Outfield (1994). He also has prominent supporting roles in Silverado (1985), Witness (1985), Predator 2 (1990), Saw (2004),Shooter (2007), 2012 (2009), Death at a Funeral (2010), Beyond the Lights (2014) and Dirty Grandpa(2016). He has appeared in many other movies, television shows and theatrical productions, and is an active supporter of various humanitarian and political causes.
Early life
Glover was born in San Francisco, California, the son of Carrie (Hunley) and James Glover. His parents, postal workers, were active in the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), working to advance equal rights. Glover's mother, daughter of a midwife, was born in Louisville, Georgia and graduated from Paine College in Augusta, Georgia.
Glover attended George Washington High School in San Francisco. He attended San Francisco State University (SFSU) in the late 1960s but did not graduate. SFSU later awarded him an honorary degree. Glover trained at the Black Actors' Workshop of the American Conservatory Theater.
As an adolescent and a young adult, Glover suffered from epilepsy but has not suffered a seizure since age 35.
Career
Glover originally worked in city administration working on community development before transitioning to theater. He has said:
I didn't think it was a difficult transition. Acting is a platform that can become a conveyer for ideas. Art is a way of understanding, of confronting issues and confronting your own feelingsâall within that realm of the capacity it represents. It may have been a leap of faith for me, given not only my learning disability (dyslexia) but also the fact that I felt awkward. I felt all the things that someone that's 6'3" or 6'4" feels and with my own diminished expectations of who I could be [and] would feel. Whether it's art, acting or theater that I've devoted myself to I put more passion and more energy into it.
His first theater involvement was with Conservatory Theater, a regional training program in San Francisco. Glover also trained with Jean Shelton at the Shelton Actors Lab in San Francisco. In an interview on Inside the Actors Studio, Glover credited Jean Shelton for much of his development as an actor. Deciding that he wanted to be an actor, Glover resigned from his city administration job and soon began his career as a stage actor. Glover then moved to Los Angeles for more opportunities in acting, where he would later go on to co-found the Robey Theatre Company with actor Ben Guillory in honor of the actor and concert singer Paul Robeson in Los Angeles in 1994.
Glover has had a variety of film, stage, and television roles, and is best known for playing Los Angeles police Sergeant Roger Murtaugh in the Lethal Weapon series of action films, starring alongside Mel Gibson and Gary Busey . Later he once again starred with Busey in the blockbuster Predator 2. He also starred as the husband to Whoopi Goldberg's character Celie in the celebrated literary adaptation The Color Purple, and as Lieutenant James McFee in the film Witness. In 1994 he made his directorial debut with the Showtime channel short film Override.
Also in 1994, Glover and actor Ben Guillory formed the Robey Theatre Company in Los Angeles, focusing on theatre by and about Black people. During his career, he has made several cameos, appearing, for example, in the Michael Jackson video "Liberian Girl" of 1987. Glover earned top billing for the first time in Predator 2, the sequel to the sci-fi action film Predator. That same year he starred in Charles Burnett's To Sleep with Anger, for which he won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead.
In common with Humphrey Bogart, Elliott Gould and Robert Mitchum, who have played Raymond Chandler's private eye detective Philip Marlowe, Glover played the role in the episode "Red Wind" of the Showtime network's 1995 series Fallen Angels. In 1997, under his former production company banner Carrie Films, Glover executive produced numerous films of first time directors including Pamm Malveaux's neo-noir short film Final Act starring Joe Morton, which aired on the Independent Film Channel. In addition, Glover has been a voice actor in many children's movies. Glover was featured in the popular 2001 film The Royal Tenenbaums, also starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Anjelica Huston, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson.
In 2004, he appeared in the low-budget horror film Saw as Detective David Tapp. In 2005, Glover and Joslyn Barnes announced plans to make No FEAR, a movie about Dr. Marsha Coleman-Adebayo's experience. Coleman-Adebayo won a 2000 jury trial against the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The jury found the EPA guilty of violating the civil rights of Coleman-Adebayo on the basis of race, sex, color and a hostile work environment, under the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Coleman-Adebayo was terminated shortly after she revealed the environmental and human disaster taking place in the Brits, South Africa, vanadium mines. Her experience inspired passage of the Notification and Federal Employee Anti-discrimination and Retaliation Act of 2002 (No-FEAR Act). As of 2013 the No Fear title has not appeared but The Marsha Coleman-Adebayo Story was announced as the next major project of No Fear Media Productions.
Glover portrayed David Keaton in the film The Exonerated - a real-life story of Keaton's experience of being arrested, jailed and then freed from death row.
In 2009, Glover performed in The People Speak a documentary feature film that uses dramatic and musical performances of the letters, diaries, and speeches of everyday Americans, based on historian Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States".
Glover played President Wilson, the President of the United States in 2012, a disaster film directed by Roland Emmerich and released in theaters November 13, 2009. In 2010, Glover participated in a Spanish film called I Want to Be a Soldier. In 2012, he starred in the film Donovan's Echo.
Planned directorial debut
Glover sought to make a film biography of Toussaint Louverture for his directorial debut. In May 2006, the film had included cast members Wesley Snipes, Angela Bassett, Don Cheadle, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Roger Guenveur Smith, Mos Def, Isaach de BankolÊ, and Richard Bohringer. Production, estimated to cost $30 million, was planned to begin in Poland, filming from late 2006 into early 2007. In May 2007, President of Venezuela Hugo Chåvez contributed $18 million to fund the production of Toussaintfor Glover, who is a prominent U.S. supporter of Chåvez. The contribution annoyed some Venezuelan filmmakers, who said the money could have funded other homegrown films and that Glover's film was not even about Venezuela. In April 2008, the Venezuelan National Assembly authorized an additional $9,840,505 for Glover's film, which is still in planning.
Public appearances
Glover appeared at London Film and Comic Con 2013 at Earls Court 2 over 2.5 days during Friday 5th to Sunday July 7. He participated in a panel discussion in McComb, Mississippi on July 16, 2015. The event, co-sponsored by The Gloster Project and Jubilee Performing Arts Center, included noted authors Terry McMillan and Quincy Troupe.
On January 30, 2015 Glover was the Keynote Speaker and 2015 Honoree for the MLK Celebration Series at the Rhode Island School of Design (Providence, RI). Glover used his career and personal story to speak on the topic "Creativity and Democracy: Social Change through the Arts."
Personal life
Glover purchased a 6,000-square-foot (560Â m2) house in Dunthorpe, Oregon, in 1999. As of 2011, he no longer lived in Oregon.
On September 2, 2009, Glover signed an open letter of objection to the inclusion of a series of films intended to showcase Tel Aviv at the Toronto International Film Festival.
On April 16, 2010, Glover was arrested in Maryland during a protest by SEIU workers for Sodexo's unfair and illegal treatment of workers. He was given a citation and later released. The Associated Press reports "Glover and others stepped past yellow police tape and were asked to step back three times at Sodexo headquarters. When they refused, Starks says officers arrested them."
Activism
Civil rights activism
While attending San Francisco State University (SFSU), Glover was a member of the Black Students Union, which, along with the Third World Liberation Front and the American Federation of Teachers, collaborated in a five-month student-led strike to establish a Department of Black Studies. The strike was the longest student walkout in U.S. history. It helped create not only the first Department of Black Studies but also the first School of Ethnic Studies in the United States.
Hari Dillon, current president of the Vanguard Public Foundation, was a fellow striker at SFSU. Glover later co-chaired Vanguard's board. He is also a board member of The Algebra Project, The Black AIDS Institute, Walden House, and Cheryl Byron's Something Positive Dance Group. He was charged with disorderly conduct and unlawful assembly after being arrested outside the Sudanese Embassy in Washington during a protest over Sudan's humanitarian crisis in Darfur.
Glover's long history of union activism includes support for the United Farm Workers, UNITE HERE, and numerous service unions. In March 2010, Glover supported 375 Union workers in Ohio by calling upon all actors at the 2010 Academy Awards to boycott Hugo Boss suits following announcement of Hugo Boss's decision to close a manufacturing plant in Ohio after a proposed pay decrease from $13 to $8.30 an hour was rejected by the Workers United Union.
On November 1, 2011, Glover spoke to the crowd at Occupy Oakland on the day before the Oakland General Strike where thousands of protestors shut down the Port of Oakland.
Political activism
Glover was an early supporter of former North Carolina Senator John Edwards in the 2008 Democratic presidential primaries until Edwards' withdrawal, although some news reports indicated that he had endorsed Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich, whom he had endorsed in 2004. After Edwards dropped out, Glover then endorsed Barack Obama. In February 2016, Glover endorsed Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Glover was an outspoken critic of George W. Bush, calling him a known racist. "Yes, he's racist. We all knew that. As Texas's governor, Bush led a penitentiary system that executed more people than all the other U.S. states together. And most of the people who died were Afro-Americans or Hispanics."
Glover's support of California Proposition 7 (2008) led him to use his voice in an automated phone call to generate support for the measure before the election.
On the foreign policy of the Obama administration, Glover said: "I think the Obama administration has followed the same playbook, to a large extent, almost verbatim, as the Bush administration. I don't see anything different... On the domestic side, look here: What's so clear is that this country from the outset is projecting the interests of wealth and property. Look at the bailout of Wall Street. Why not the bailout of Main Street? He may be just a different face, and that face may happen to be black, and if it were Hillary Clinton, it would happen to be a woman.... But what choices do they have within the structure?"
Glover wrote the foreword to Phyllis Bennis' book, Challenging Empire: How People, Governments, and the UN Defy US Power. Glover is also a member of the board of directors of the Center for Economic and Policy Research, a think tank led by economist Dean Baker.
InternationalAfrica
Glover is an active board member of the TransAfrica Forum. On April 6, 2009, Glover was given a chieftaincy title in Imo State, Nigeria. Glover was given the title Enyioma of Nkwerre, which means A Good Friend in the language of the Igbo people of Eastern Nigeria.
Caribbean and Haiti
On January 13, 2010, Glover compared the scale and devastation of the 2010 Haiti earthquake to the predicament other island nations may face as a result of the failed Copenhagen summit the previous year. Glover said: "...the threat of what happens to Haiti is a threat that can happen anywhere in the Caribbean to these island nations... they're all in peril because of global warming... because of climate change... when we did what we did at the climate summit in Copenhagen, this is the response, this is what happens..." In the same statement, he called for a new form of international partnership with Haiti and other Caribbean nations and praised Venezuela, Brazil, and Cuba, for already accepting this partnership.
Iraq War
Danny Glover has been an outspoken critic of the Iraq War before the war began in March 2003. In February 2003, he was one of the featured speakers at Justin Herman Plaza in San Francisco where other notable speakers included names such as author Alice Walker, singer Joan Baez, United Farm Workers co-founder Dolores Huerta and Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Oakland. Glover was a signatory to the April 2003 anti-war letter "To the Conscience of the World" that criticized the unilateral American invasion of Iraq that led to "massive loss of civilian life" and "devastation of one of the cultural patrimonies of humanity". During an anti-war demonstration in Downtown Oakland in March 2003, Glover praised the community leaders for their anti-war efforts saying that "They're on the front lines because they are trying to make a better America.... The world has come together and said 'no' to this war â and we must stand with them."
Venezuela
In January 2006, Harry Belafonte led a delegation of activists, including Glover and activist/professor Cornel West, in a meeting with President of Venezuela Hugo ChĂĄvez, with Glover calling ChĂĄvez "remarkable". In 2007, the Venezuelan government allotted $18 million to Glover for a film about a slave uprising in Haiti with Hugo ChĂĄvez hoping "to mobilise world public opinion against imperialism and western oppression". Glover was also a board member of TeleSUR, a media network primarily funded by the Venezuelan government.
During the beginning of the 2014 Venezuela Protests, Glover shared his support to ChĂĄvez's successor, President Nicolas Maduro, calling members of his government "the stewards" of Venezuela's democracy. Glover also told Venezuelan government supporters to go fight for the sovereignty of Maduro's government.
Music
Glover has become an active member of board of directors of The Jazz Foundation of America. Danny became involved with The Jazz Foundation in 2005, and has been a featured host for their annual benefit A Great Night in Harlem for several years, as well appearing as a celebrity MC at other events for the foundation. In 2006, Britain's leading African theatre company Tiata Fahodzi appointed Glover as one of its three Patrons, joining Chiwetel Ejiofor and Jocelyn Jee Esien opening the organization's tenth-anniversary celebrations (Sunday, February 2, 2008) at the Theatre Royal Stratford East, London.
Honors and awards
Utah State University
In 2010, Glover delivered the Commencement Address and was awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Utah State University.
Starr King School for the Ministry
Also in 2010, Starr King School for the Ministry awarded the Doctorate of Humane Letters (Litterarum Humanarum Doctor), in absentia, to Mr. Glover. His call to humanity to see itself as the recipient of a legacy of caring and commitment that began with prior parental and religious communities and that it should carry on for the sake of those who will follow are in alignment with Starr King's values. Mr. Glover was awarded the doctorate specifically for his long history of passionate activism, including support for the United Farm Workers, UNITE HERE, The Algebra Project, The Black AIDS Institute, as well as his humanitarian efforts on behalf of the Haiti earthquake victims, literacy and civil rights and his fight against unjust labor practices. Mr. Glover is co-founder and CEO of Louverture Films, dedicated to the development and production of films of historical relevance, social purpose, commercial value and artistic integrity; we honored his commitment to using film to lift up and advance social justice issues, such as his then recently released project "Trouble the Water", a documentary about New Orleans in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina.
Glover has had a close association with Starr King School through his role as guest lecturer in its course on Non Violent Social Change and lending his support and presence to events sponsored by Starr King's Masters of Arts in Social Change (MASC) program.
Deauville American Film Festival
He was also the recipient of a tribute paid by the Deauville American Film Festival in France on September 7, 2011.

Scarlett Johansson, Before and After
"I definitely believe in plastic surgery. I don't want to be an old hag. There's no fun in that."
That's how Scarlett Johansson felt way back in 2004, according to an interview with B Magazine.
But only a few years later, she denied EVER having plastic surgery herself. After a 2007 Us Weekly article suggested otherwise, she issued a statement calling the claims "outrageous and defamatory," and even threatened legal action (not that a lawsuit ever materialized).
Still, the Lost in Translation star, now 34, has been followed by plastic surgery rumours to this day.
With her green eyes, blonde hair and bee-stung lips, I've always considered Scarlett to be one of the most unique beauties in Hollywood. Is it really possible to win the genetic lottery and end up with her particular combination of features?!
Let's take a look at her transformation over the years to see if we can find out!
Scarlett in 1997
Scarlett Johansson at a 1997 photoshoot.
First up is this pic from a late '90s photoshoot, taken when Scarlett was only 12 years old. She'd already been acting for three years at this point! Not only can we see her natural nose, but also her natural hair colour (which was not blonde, but a light ash brown).Â
Scarlett in 1998
Scarlett Johansson at the 1998 Salute to American Heroes to Benefit the Fresh Air Fund.
At age 13, the only change was that her became a little darker, and she slicked on a very '90s shade of lipstick (perhaps MAC Twig?). This was prior to having any cosmetic dentistry work, so she does not yet have that perfect "Hollywood" smile.
Scarlett in 1999
Scarlett Johansson at the 1999 premiere of 'Blast from the Past.'
The late '90s also saw Gwen Stefani turning bindis into a trend (which would definitely NOT be cool in 2019). Scarlett got on board, pairing hers with some pale lilac eyeshadow.Â
Scarlett in 2000
Scarlett Johansson at the 2000 premiere of 'The Beach.'
So, here it is... the photo that Us Weekly used as evidence of Scarlett's "nip and tuck." The lighting is particularly harsh on the contours of her nose, I'll give her that. But can lighting alone account for the differences compared to later photos? I don't think so!
Scarlett Johansson at a 2000 Max Azria show.
Here's another shot from the same month, but with much softer lighting. Nope, still doesn't look like the same nose she has today! Her lips, on the other hand, do match. As you can see in these early photos, they were ALWAYS super plumpâeven when she was a teenager!
Scarlett in 2001
Scarlett Johansson at the 2001 Hollywood Film Festival.
By the time she debuted in Ghost World at 17, her appearance had really changed. Yes, she's wearing a lot more makeup (including the dark "ring around the lips" lip liner that was an actual thing back then). But it might not be JUST makeup. I'm wondering if her nose isn't a little bit less prominent here!Â
Scarlett in 2002
Scarlett Johansson at the 2002 premiere of 'Eight Legged Freaks.'
This shot confirms my suspicions. All of a sudden, Scarlett's career was taking off, and she emerged on the red carpet with a much more groomed, grown-up appearance. There's the vibrant red hair, sophisticated makeup, and a nose ring to accentuate what looks like a newly reshaped nose.Â
Scarlett in 2003
Scarlett Johansson at the 2003 Independent Spirit Awards.
Oh yes, once upon a time, Scarlett had a mullet. ("There was a total party going on in the back of my head!" she recalled. "I had a 'mullet pride' shirt that I wore.") My memory's a little fuzzy, but I don't think this wispy 'do was ever hair goals, even back then!
Scarlett Johansson at a 2003 Cynthia Rowley show.
Speaking of weird hairstyles... the same year, she also stepped out in these blonde ringlets, paired with over-the-top false lashes and glossy hot pink lips. Again, I want to point out that her features seem a little more in balance compared to when she was younger. My guess is she underwent a rhinoplasty around 2001 or 2002, before Lost in Translation made her a box office sensation.
Scarlett in 2004
Scarlett Johansson at the 2004 premiere of 'A Love Song for Bobby Long.'
At age 20, Scarlett took her hair even lighter, to a platinum blondeâa shade that really brings out her star quality. She also ditched the kooky makeup and hairstyles, likely securing a better styling team from here on out. Again, her nose has a different shape compared to before, but I would argue that this isn't her "final" nose, either.Â
Scarlett in 2005
Scarlett Johansson at the 2005 premiere of 'Match Point.'
Remember this phase, when Scarlett was all about the old Hollywood glamour? She always did some sort of retro curls with a red lip, barely-there eye makeup and a low-cut dress. By this point, she had upgraded her smile to make it straighter and more even. But take a look at her nose here, and then compare it to the next shot....
Scarlett in 2006
Scarlett Johansson at the 2006 Golden Globe Awards.
Are you seeing what I'm seeing? Her nose is suddenly much narrower, which makes her eyes and lips stand out even more. Not that anyone probably noticed, when she was wearing this dress!
Scarlett in 2007
Scarlett Johansson at the 2007 Louis Vuitton Love Party.
Next, she switched things up with an extreme bleached blonde, worn straight and pinned off her face. Keep in mind that this was the same year that the nose job allegations started, thanks to Us Weekly. (And that makes perfect sense, looking at these photos!)
Scarlett in 2008
Scarlett Johansson at the 2008 premiere of 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona.'
Then, it was back to a more low-key look in 2008, albeit with a slight vintage flair. The red lipstick shows off her naturally full lips and near-perfect smile, and the darker roots make her blonde colour look natural.
Scarlett in 2009
Scarlett Johansson at the 2009 premiere of 'He's Just Not That Into You.'
Before securing her role as Black Widow in Iron Man 2, Scarlett dyed her hair dark auburn, which she attributed to a "subconscious" hope that "they'd give me a call." Since her skin tone is neutral, she pulls it off every bit as well as the blonde.
Scarlett in 2010
Scarlett Johansson at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards.
But it wasn't long before Scarlett returned to her signature blonde, this time with a warm golden hue. She rocked it with frizzy, messy wavesâtexture was a big deal in the early '10sâand lots of black liner.Â
Scarlett in 2011
Scarlett Johansson at the 2011 Academy Awards.
Who could forget Scarlett's bob? She was way ahead of the current trend with this choppy, piecey 'do (and probably inspired countless women's haircuts over the years!). Her hair colour was a little darker here, and I appreciate that her teeth weren't blindingly white... yet.
Scarlett Johansson at the 2011 Disney D23 Expo.
Later that year, as her bob was growing out, the dark hair resurfacedâthis time, as more of a cherry red than an auburn. (Is there any hair colour this woman doesn't look amazing in? The answer is no!)
Scarlett in 2012
Scarlett Johansson at the 2012 London premiere of 'The Avengers.'
Within a year, Scarlett had ditched the red dye and grown out her bob enough to pull it up into this braided updoâall the better to show off her perfectly proportioned features. She was 28 at this time.
Scarlett in 2013
Scarlett Johansson at Comic-Con 2013.
Next, she showed off a full mane of golden blonde waves, I'm guessing with the help of a few extensions. Of all the hair colours she's tried, this one is my favourite! Smoky, winged out eyeliner makes her eyes pop.
Scarlett in 2014
Scarlett Johansson at the 2014 London premiere of 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier.'
With her hair in smooth waves and a vampy colour on her lips, this look is reminiscent of Scarlett's old Hollywood style era from the mid-'00s. She was also pregnant here, and it was her last hurrah with long hair for a while....
Scarlett Johansson at the 2014 Hurricane Sandy Fundraiser.
Talk about a radical change! Just like that, Scarlett chopped off her long locks. This was taken just two months after she gave birth to her daughterâbut it's far from the typical "Mom" cut. (She wouldn't rock Mom hair until 2018!)
Scarlett in 2015
Scarlett Johansson at the 2015 Independent Spirit Awards.
In 2015, she took her short cut even shorter, shaving the sides and then bleaching the top a cool light blonde. Even if you're not a fan of the pixie, there's no denying that it puts even more focus on her uniquely beautiful features and flawless skin.
Scarlett in 2016
Scarlett Johansson at the 2016 Toronto premiere of 'Sing.'
In 2016, it seemed like Scarlett was ready to grow out her pixie. Most people have to go through an awkward stage, but there's no evidence of that here. The big waves, honey blonde colour and retro cat eyes look incredible on her.
Scarlett in 2017
Scarlett Johansson at the 2017 New York premiere of 'Ghost in the Shell.'
But at age 33, she renewed her commitment to short hair by buzzing off the sides again and slicking it all back with copious amounts of hair gel. I can't say I'm a fan of this new, "tough" look, but at least she pulls if off better than Katy Perry!
Scarlett in 2018
Scarlett Johansson at the 2018 Met Gala.
Finally, Scarlett began growing her hair out the following year, and at the same time, decided to dye it a rich, chocolatey brown. (And no, it wasn't even for Avengers: Endgame.) Honestly, it looks like a helmet!
Scarlett in 2019
Scarlett Johansson at the 2019 premiere of 'Jojo Rabbit.'
That brings us to 2019, and Scarlett's hair is back on track! She traded the brown for her go-to blonde (this time, with dark roots), and most likely used extensions to add length and volume. Also, notice her teeth. Not only have they been brightened, but they are now completely even and uniform in size.
Scarlett Johansson Before and After
Scarlett Johansson in 1997 (left) and in 2019 (right).
Scarlett may insist she's all-natural, but looking at her photos side by side, there's no denying that a couple features have changed. Even in different lighting situations, with different hair colours and makeup applications, you can STILL see them.
For one thing, her teeth have been made over with whitening treatments and porcelain veneers. It's now that dazzling, perfect smile that you only see on celebrities.
The main alteration, however, was to her noseâjust like so many other Hollywood stars.Â
I'm going to venture a guess that she had not one, but TWO rhinoplasties. The first one would have been done before 2003, when she wasn't on anybody's radar. The second was an even more skillful refinement, done around 2005, right before she became a household name.
"Scarlett's work is certainly minimal, but it should belong on a list of the best nose surgeries ever done on a celebrity," says Dr. Jeffrey Rawnsley.Â
"The biggest difference is in the bridge. As you can see, her original bridge was thick, leading all the way up to her brow. The result made the nose look too large for her small and delicate face. The new bridge is distinctly thinner and definitely goes well with her other features. The tip of her nose was rather bulbous, giving it the unfortunately named 'piggy look' when combined with the thick bridge. Very little work was done on the tip, however. Just small changes to refine it were used and the shape itself wasn't changed at all. That's how she still has the same nose but with just more delicate details."
Her lips, on the other hand, have had undergone zero cosmetic enhancements.Â
"A lot of patients ask me to make their lips look like Scarlett's," says Dr. Anthony Youn, "but it's impossible for a plastic surgeon to create perfection like this."Â
How do you feel about Scarlett's beauty evolution?
Which of these looks is your favourite?
What "beauty work" do you think she's had done?

Film Festival 2019 Preview: 12 Biggest Movies With Oscar Chances
From Joker to Jojo Rabbit, check out the most anticipated releases from the fall festival season. As the summer moviegoing season comes to an end and the major glut of blockbusters dries up until Christmas, Hollywoodâs focus turns to fall and the endless chaos of awards season.
Typically, the lionâs share of releases that come under this umbrella start in September and run until the end of December, which is the cut-off date for Oscars' qualifications. This year, there are plenty of potential candidates vying for criticsâ and audiencesâ attention, and most of them will be making their debuts during the major film festivals of the fall season. The four biggest festivals of this period are - in chronological order - Venice, Toronto, Telluride, and New York. These are the festivals you can expect the most hyped-movies of awards season to play at in some capacity, and for good reason.
Related:Â Disney Won Summer 2019 (& It Wasnât Even Close)
The past two winners of the Golden Lion, Venice's highest honor, were nominated for or won Best Picture. Nine of the past decade's 10 winners of the Toronto People's Choice Award either won or were nominated for Best Picture, too. The batting average for fall festival season and Oscar success is too good to ignore, so studios jostle for attention amid crowded slates. This year, the stakes seem higher than ever and the offerings more varied and exciting than weâve seen in a while. Here are some of the most anticipated releases from the major fall film festivals of 2019.
Once Warner Bros. decided not to take Todd Phillipsâs reimagining of the Jokerâs origin story to San Diego Comic-Con (along with the rest of their upcoming titles), rumors swirled that it was because they were choosing to submit it to festival season instead. However, even the most optimistic fans could not have predicted just how much hope the studio has in this movie. Not only will Joker make its world premiere playing in competition at the Venice Film Festival, but it will also make its North American debut in Toronto soon after, followed by its New York premiere at NYFF. Itâs not uncommon for one movie to play all three festivals but unheard of for a comic book title to do so. Make no mistake: Warner Bros. is hoping to take Joker all the way to the Oscars. This build-up of hype and critical clout is certainly an excellent strategy for doing so, with the filmâs star, Joaquin Phoenix, having previously won Best Actor at Venice and set to receive TIFFâs very first Best Actor award next month.
This will be the first year of Fox Searchlight working under the Disney banner, and critics are eager to see how invested the company is in releasing the kind of esoteric, small-scale, and awards-baity titles that the studio has made their name from. The biggest and possibly most controversial title on their slate in 2019 is Jojo Rabbit. Directed by Taika Waititi, Jojo Rabbit tells the story of a young German boy during World War 2 who is fiercely dedicated to the Hitler Youth, and how his life changes when he discovers his mother has been hiding a Jewish girl in their attic. He also has an imaginary best friend who is Adolf Hitler, played by Waititi himself. Itâs certainly a movie that will incite conversations, and alleged Disney sources have already started talking to the trades about their concerns with such a potentially shocking movie. However, Waititi is a master of tone, who can juggle big laughs with darker emotional beats, and this is the kind of story that only he could make for general audiences. All eyes will be on Jojo Rabbit for its world premiere at TIFF, where Waititi will also receive the festivalâs new director award.
A new Martin Scorsese movie is always a cause for celebration, and The Irishman is a long-time passion project the director has wanted to make for many years now. His first feature film since 2016's Silence - which was a box office disappointment - The Irishman brings together some of Scorseseâs most iconic collaborators, from Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci to editor Thelma Schoonmaker and screenwriter Steven Zaillian. Based on the story of Frank Sheeran, The Irishman follows the life of a mob hitman and his involvement in the Bufalino crime family as well as the role he may have played in the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa. Not only is it Scorsese's most expensive movie, with a reported budget of $200 million, but it's Netflix's priciest endeavor, too. The streaming service remains a much-contested topic on the festival circuit, but it will be hard for even the biggest skeptics to avoid or dismiss The Irishman as it makes its world premiere at the New York Film Festival.
Last year, the documentary Wonât You Be My Neighbor?, about the life of beloved childrenâs entertainer Mr. Rogers, was a surprise box office hit. Now, the biopic is here with none other than Tom Hanks, taking on the lofty role of one of the nationâs most popular pop culture figures. A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood comes to us courtesy of Marielle Heller, who made waves last year with the Oscar-nominated drama Can You Ever Forgive Me?. Her take on the Mr. Rogers story follows an elderly Fred Rogers as he is being profiled for a magazine piece by a cynical journalist, played by Matthew Rhys. Marielle Heller has a deft and layered approach to biopics that helps her stand out in a saturated field, and the prospect of Hanks playing this universally adored figure is sure to set off many an awards prediction. Expect floods of tears at screenings when A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood premieres at TIFF.

One of only a handful of titles playing at Venice, Toronto, and New York, Noah Baumbachâs latest drama, Marriage Story, to be released by Netflix, sees him once again returning to deeply personal territory. Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson star as a married couple whose coast-to-coast divorce begins to push them to extremes neither could have predicted. Baumbach is no stranger to making movies about divorce. 2005's The Squid and the Whale was a semi-autobiographical exploration of his own parents' split. The buzz around Marriage Story has been especially loud, with praise singled out for both Johansson and Driver, the latter of whom has a very busy year ahead of him between this, The Report (also playing the festival season), and, of course, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Netflix has a full slate this year for awards season, so expect them to push this hard.
Oscar-winning actress RenĂŠe Zellweger was everywhere in the early 2000s but took an extended break in 2010, appearing only sporadically in projects. In 2019, she's attempting a comeback by playing one of the most beloved and recognizable figures in Hollywood: the oft-imitated but never replicated Judy Garland. Judy, directed by British theater director Rupert Goold, will have its world premiere at TIFF in what is sure to be a much-talked-about screening. The story takes place in 1969 when Garland, at the very end of her life, headed to London to perform a series of sell-out shows that were some of her very last concerts. Biopics are a staple of festival season and sure to make an impression with Oscar voters, but Zellweger has a tough job ahead of her with Judy, especially since she seems to be doing all her own singing in the role.
Writer-director Armando Iannucci is best known for his political satires, from The Death of Stalin to award-winning TV series like Veep and The Thick of It. The Personal History of David Copperfield takes him deep into the Dickensian territory but don't be too quick to write this off as just another historical drama. Dev Patel plays the eponymous protagonist while an all-star cast, including Tilda Swinton, Ben Whishaw, Peter Capaldi, Benedict Wong, and Gwendoline Christie, fill out the illustrious ensemble. Making its world premiere at TIFF, with its British premiere to follow at the London Film Festival, David Copperfield was recently picked up for distribution by Fox Searchlight, which signals at least some positive things for the company under Disneyâs ownership.
There are a surprising amount of movies playing at this yearâs festival season that are adapted from articles. Hustlers may be the most anticipated of this bunch, if only because of its truly irresistible hook. Based on a piece from New York magazine, Hustlers follows a group of strippers, led by Constance Wu and Jennifer Lopez, who decide to take on the rich Wall Street jerks who visit their club every night and fleece them for all they have. Written and directed by Lorene Scafaria, with Adam McKay and Will Ferrell on producer duties, Hustlers has a tricky tone to nail. How do you tackle what these women did, acknowledge the Robin Hood-esque fantasy of it, but not romanticize just how dark the truth got? Itâs a tough job but the movie also has serious indie breakout potential and it remains depressingly rare to see a film with a female majority cast alongside a woman director. Hustlers will make its world premiere at TIFF.
Donna Tartt, despite having only written three novels, is one of the most celebrated American authors of her generation, and her third novel, The Goldfinch, won her the Pulitzer Prize. Despite the major impact she has had on literature and pop culture, Hollywood has never dared to adapt one of her meaty and extremely long books until now. Clocking in at over 800 pages, turning The Goldfinch into a movie was always going to be an immense undertaking, and one sure to be highly anticipated by the millions who read it. Directed by John Crowley (Brooklyn) and starring Ansel Elgort, Nicole Kidman, and Sarah Paulson, the drama follows the coming-of-age of a young man who survives a terrorist attack in an art museum and the painting he clings to as a source of hope as his life spirals downwards. Tartt's work has always embraced the Dickensian in its scope and emotional depths, so taking a book this long and condensing it two-and-a-half hours will not be easy. The Goldfinch has its world premiere at TIFF, one week before it opens nationwide on September 13.
Director James Gray is a critical darling, but his work has struggled to find commercial success in the United States (although he remains extremely popular in Europe, especially France). However, Ad Astra has the potential to break out in a bigger way. Brad Pitt stars in the lead role, following on from a strong summer with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, as an astronaut sent on a life-changing mission. He journeys to the outer edges of the solar system in hopes of finding his father (played by Tommy Lee Jones), a fellow astronaut who mysteriously disappeared many years before. Gray compared the story to Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness and noted his desire to make as realistic a depiction of space travel as possible, which is a fascinating direction for him to take with his first foray into science-fiction. The movie has had its release date bumped around a lot this year, which often doesn't signal good news, but with Ad Astra making its world premiere at Venice, the hype remains very much in its favor.
In-between working on Star Wars movies, director Rian Johnson took some time to make a murder mystery in the vein of Agatha Christieâs work, and he compiled a major all-star cast for his efforts. Knives Out, which will have its world premiere at TIFF, features Daniel Craig, Lakeith Stanfield, Toni Collette, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Christopher Plummer. Plummer plays a legendary crime novelist who is murdered during his birthday party, leading detectives Craig and Stanfield to investigate the case, with every member of the family a suspect. It's always exciting to see what a director who is a key part of a major franchise does in their downtime, and Johnson returning to his love of low-key genre fiction for a re-imagining of a classic set-up is too good to resist. It remains to be seen if Knives Out has awards appeal or will simply be marketed as a fun winter season caper in-between the blockbusters, but whatever the case, it's sure to have audiences intrigued.
Itâs safe to say that Christian Bale, regardless of the project, is almost always included in Oscar conversations. Following his latest nomination for Vice, he returns to the biopic genre with James Mangoldâs take on one of the most notorious rivalries in motoring history. As the title suggests, Ford v Ferrari takes on the battle between two of the biggest names in cars as they raced at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans competition. Bale and Matt Damon play the driver and engineer brought on to Team Ford to help them defeat the dominant Italians of Ferrari. This is a pricey movie - one with a rumored $97.6 million budget - and a starry cast to match, but it's also now a Disney title that needs to be handled carefully. Will the studio give it the full red carpet treatment following its world premiere at Toronto?
