I have discovered the joys of reprolabels/toyhax stickers.

Edit: Fixing the formatting / order of paragraphs because Tumblr completely screwed up the post between me finishing it and pressing submit!

Other rambling below the cut.

Due to local shortages, I've been without my antidepressants/anxiety meds for a fortnight, which has rather impacted on my ability to concentrate or create anything. (It's partly why, along with a busy work schedule, I haven't been able to draw anything/ new sgprime pages for a fortnight now, I'm so sorry for keeping you all waiting). Finally got some sorted though, so hopefully will be able to get back on track!

These little stickers are great, as they're pretty rote to put on properly but do keep your mind engaged, and they've given me something simple to do to take my mind off things late at night when things tend to be at it's worst. While Megs and Twitch probably didn't need them (though I do hope hoyhax does other Earthspark figures in future), they've made a huge improvement to Strongarm and Ratchet who were severely lacking in paint.

I've already Put in an order for more! XD

For reference: about 4 years ago (Holy shit it's been 4 years, covid time is fucked up) I got really into transformers,

it started by just wanting a fidget toy for my desk so I got Kingdom Arcee because I liked her as a kid and I was feeling very #Girl (also cause the only bumblebee was the ww2 buggy that I regret not picking up)

But that toy kinda sucked ass so I got 86 Jazz, followed by Kingdom Optimus because cmon it's the big man himself.

So yeah I figured this was just a hobby now so I gave myself a goal: Complete the main cast of Transformers Prime

Honestly I picked an amazing time to get into toy collecting, Just late enough that I wasn't stuck with siege figures or bad covid QC, but early enough that I got some basic G1 cast before legacy (like genuinely Bulkhead and Arcee in wave 1?? Along with my personal Glup shitto Dragstrip? It was made for me)

It's been a blast, it's so satisfying seeing my cast grow, I love finding old figures at any cons I go to (I got classics Bee and Thrilling 30 springer at my first comic-con and those 2 are amazing)

But that idea of having the complete tfp cast was always in the back of my mind and any casts I completed along the way were fun bonuses (07 movie cast, Devastation autobots, RID 2015 and I don't even like that show)

But now that's just about finished, I don't have literally every character in the show, I'm missing a few one off episode characters that I don't care enough to get (I'm not spending 60 euro on dreadwing again just because he's green, also tfp cliff looks sick but it's bundled with 90 euro worth of toys I don't want (also it's fucking cliffjumper, he'll get a new toy eventually) )

But yeah... Now what?

I still like transformers, there's stuff I'm excited for but there's no long term goal, yknow?

I'm already struggling to justify this to myself as is whenever I put a new toy on display I have an honest to God existential crisis about what I'm doing with my life

(I nearly cried transforming spoiler nemesis prime for this reason) but then a day or 2 passes and it's back to being sick

Idk it's a weird feeling, not bittersweet, more like, yeah okay, that's cool I guess (granted I still haven't taken a photo of them all together so maybe my brain hasn't fully registered that it's happened, we'll see)

Anyways tldr: funny toy robots briefly made me feel alive and that's gone now

Transformers Legacy Unite Windblade

Back with a bang!

For a "major" name (who was kinda one of the franchises flagship characters for a while) Hasbro was really neglecting the her in recent years, with her last generations figure coming out in 2017 (and due to it being a late wave titans return figure it was almost impossible to find in some countries). She didn't even get a proper deluxe class Cyberverse toy, despite being the second main character of the show (after bumblebee). Well at least to make up for that, she now has a really good figure in the legacy line.

I dont normally photograph transformation sequences but I wanted to show just how involved the transformation is for a Windblade toy. Unlike previous Windblades where you just kinda cover up the humanoid parts this actually feels like she's a proper transformer! While you still have the typical Windblade transformation scheme (fold the legs up, push the wings down, and flip the jet nose cone over her head), it does way more than any previous Windblade figure to fill in gaps or hollow parts and compact down the backpack. I do think she could do with a bit more black on the wings and nose cone to break up the red in alt mode and make the cockpit more distinct as it kind of just blends into the red (hopefully toyhax will produce a sticker set for her to fix that). Just a word of warning for anyone getting this. Make sure you thoroughly check the tissue paper the sword comes in. Her tessen/headdress is a separate piece packed in with the sword, and it's so small I can easily see people missing it and throwing it out with the packaging by mistake.

Looking forward to seeing the inevitable Slipstream retool of this figure!

You know I'm a mark for any Strongarm figure. That said the toyhax sticker upgrade set is absolutely a must have. My favorite touch to these sets is including multiple versions of the eyes so you can choose which way they're looking. (Plus it gives me extras for the mold mates).

I still wish the alt mode was bigger and the head was smaller but these stickers go a long way to make the figure go from good to great.
