like, im not gonna lie, i dont think it of specifically public trans it, but there ARE both crypto-terf psy ops, as well as community harming transfemminine people, within this community. but if someone comes into my inbox On Anon, with Not Even One specific post or quote or even an ATTEMPT to prove what they're saying, my gut instinct is to block and dismiss.

it should be yours as well, not just for trans women, if someone comes into your inbox saying "[person] should be socially ostracized for [vauge behavior description in 10 words or less]" the best form of due diligence you have at your disposal is telling that person to fuck off and to socially ostracize them

I’m not sure why until my appointment today I thought that the voice training/coaching aspect of transition care was like a thing mostly/only offered to transfemminine people but nope apparently not

Another thing I noticed in that class was the complete lack of lesbian or wlw transfemminine characters? I have a lot of thoughts about the inability of cis producers/writers/directors to imagine transgender experiences, and specifically transfemmine experiences, as unrelated to heterosexuality. As if they cannot understand womanhood or gender existing outside hegemonic heterosexuality which says so, so much about cis people's relation to gender, I feel.

as a transfemme it’s easy to be on guard about the ways that cis/non transfemminine fans interpret & depict canonically male characters as trans women, because it so often goes very poorly, but what I’ve seen of June Egbert has been nothing but very genuinely sweet and sensitive portrayals. I suppose, I can see where you’re coming from, though- that just makes me want to ask where the line is that means someone is Transneutral.

Like, if a NB person for example is AMAB, transitions in a way similar or like how someone who’s Transfeminine would, and is Trans-neutral.. are they TME? 

If an NB is aligned-feminine, or aligned-masculine, are they not Transneutral anymore?

If you’re Transneutral and you follow Transfeminine or Transmasc tutorials, or for example, might be Transfemminine and Transneutral at the same time, are you TME?

What does Transneutral even look like? Wouldn’t it be as varied as how our genders and gender expressions are? Is Transneutral just… wanting to look 100% androgynous?

I dunno, I guess I have some questions, and I might be nitpicking a little… haha..Who wants to chime in with their thoughts please do

Yea so some nb people identify as non binary women. Like they could be gender fluid, and mostly women but sometimes not. Or like demi girls/ nb transfemminine ppl might identify with the word woman. in much the same way that people (rightly, correctly) read the griffith laying in the dark tower thinking about guts chapter as, uh, gay, it also reads to me as a mental civil war over gender. & ill try to go into that more broadly later but atm what really interests me is how it exposes the connection Berserk builds between lordship/ royalty/ ruling class politics and gender that i previously incoherently rambled about on here (that dreams and gender are both things inherently & inseparably influenced by the morals of class society, IE griffiths dream of royal rulership is obviously influenced by the feudal setting of Berserk, and when he works towards that dream by courting princesses and leading armies he is also performing the gendered expectations of that society, so i think that Griffith’s Dream, and his failures and struggles to achieve it, works as an excellent analogue to masculine gender experience and failure, which forms the core of my transfemminine/ gender reading of Berserk & of Griffith specifically)

(when i do a reread from the start ill point out more of these connections but for now im just looking at this section)

the chapter starts with Griffith remembering his Dream as something spontaneously generated from the dramatic, overwhelming contrast between this squalor of his life and the magnificence of feudal power. Ill try to elaborate further in a later post but IMO the castle represents three gendered aspects of Griffith’s Dream that he clearly tries to emulate throughout the Golden Age Arc & beyond: pristine, noble splendor (”The Brightest Thing”), military capability (it’s lichrally a fort), and a lifeless separation from that it rules over (empty looking castle on a hill).

he goes on to think about his failure to emulate the last aspect, describing the whirlwind of emotions and attachment he feels for Guts. He failed to grasp and exercise this detached control Guts like he was able to easily do with so many others

& as he says, his only remaining attachment to sanity is Guts, who essentially reversed his attempt at a stoic commander/ soldier relationship, making griffith, in his own eyes, the sole dependent in their relationship. In one this is a failure to fulfill the class-aspirations of his dream and his self-imposed expectations of noble masculinity, both by being attached to, and essentially dependent on a male social subordinate

at this point where he is further than he’s ever been from feudal aspirations, he embodies the absolute gender failure that defines the social definition of trans womanhood, (the central thesis of this blog that i will go into much more detail on in further posts!!) stripped of the splendor, military power, and ‘control’ of relationships that defines how he and the narrative of Berserk in general looks at masculinity. And from this point his dream begins to seem as hollow as it really is as a shell woven solely from the fabric of feudal class interests, and in my understanding his relationship to manhood is temporarily severed (again, more on the :( physical manifestations :( of this later)  

and then the demons crawl from the bricks of his prison and shatter this resolution, calling Griffith the Prince of the Unforgiven and the Blessed King of Longing, making themselves his subordinates, his subjects.

at his absolute lowest point, where his dream seems the most false, and his physical and mental connection to gender is at its weakest, these things crawl out of the dark to tether Griffith to his dream, to a sense of lordship, to the pathetic masculine grandeur of being the King and Prince of horrible things. His connection to manhood is reaffirmed, and his dream is rekindled.
