Last movie/show: we watched Damsel this afternoon! I liked it a lot, but I can't help thinking I've seen the bones of this film (fairy tale kingdom sacrifices three princesses to a dragon - wait that's fucked up, what if one princess managed to survive) in a Tumblr post somewhere in the last dozen years. Wish I could find it.

Sweet, spicy, savoury: all of them, baby! All at once! (but also not too spicy because I am, in fact, A Baby where spice is concerned)

Relationship status: married in all but name (21 years and counting!)

Last thing I googled: "magic sword dnd 5e" because I'm going to DM a one-shot (set in my one-on-one campaign with my husband) for my husband, my usual DM and his daughter. He (DM) made a warlock proficient only with light weapons and I wondered if I could make create a magic sword for him that he could use for his Pact of the Blade weapon. I'm still searching.

Regarding Len's age, I think it's always supposed to have been a lifetime of hard living -- lots of drinking, some smoking, and (as per his Secret Files bio, written by Johns) he dabbled in drugs when he was younger.  Plus, of course, the balding doesn't help the perception of age.  It is true that women don't really get to age in comics until they become Officially Old, but this art actually does make Lisa look middle-aged without mocking her for it, and I appreciate that.  I'm not a fan of that Flash annual #4 about an AU future which clearly intended some of the aged Rogues to look laughably pathetic, including her.

I share the concern about Digger, who's so often comic relief at the best of times and was definitely mocked for aging poorly in Identity Crisis.  It'd be a nice twist if he's one of the Rogues who's doing better than some of the others.

@runn0ft IT REALLY DOES FEEL LIKE LONGER. *dad joke voice* I mean it has been since last year! but also. this is hell. 

@truxi-twice and @portiaadams SO THE TIMELINE OF EVENTS IS on the last monday of the year, kara submitted a bug report to tumblr about email/text notifications not working, they replied pretty quickly to be like “yeah we know it’s a bug, we’re working on it,” and then a few hours later, kara gets an email from tumblr trust and safety being like “hey we suspended your account because you have unused sideblogs, please delete them.” so kara does, responds literally within the hour, and then....... nothing. this was over a week ago. no response. multiple follow-ups, no response. support tickets, no response. 

I’ve been doing /search/ with various combos of phrases like suspended, tumblr, urls, support, trust and safety, etc. and found MORE PEOPLE THAN I EXPECTED who had their blog suspended for hoarding urls but got them back. apparently this is the only thing in tumblr’s tos that they actually care about and enforce :|| some people got their blogs unsuspended within hours. for some people, it took weeks and sometimes even more than a month to get any kind of response. they DID get their blogs back eventually, but with wildly varying amounts of time. (also, as you can imagine with looking for this kind of data, it’s going to be a lot easier to find blogs that WERE restored than to find blogs that are still suspended)

but it IS possible. we just don’t know how long it’s going to take. even though on our end it looks like the entire blog is deleted, on kara’s end, they’re still logged in on the app, they have access to sideblogs (not the empty ones—those are deleted—but to legit active sideblogs, like tuagifs), they can still see the dash, but they can’t a) interact with it in any way or b) see their own blog and neither can we. but if tumblr will EVER RESPOND TO THEIR EMAILS, basically all they have to do is unsuspend and then boom, blog restored in its entirety 

so basically KEEP CROSSING YOUR CROSSABLES that tumblr will fucking respond. and if you do have unused sideblogs, uuuuh START USING ‘EM! I still caution everyone to avoid deleting sideblogs though, because—bECAUSE—they still have not fixed a bug that has been around for years where deleting a sideblog can sometimes accidentally delete your entire account.

He's an eastern grey squirrel, but a melanistic type that's quite common in Canada.  I looked it up, and apparently eastern greys have been introduced to Europe and are wreaking a fair amount of havoc because they're larger than the local red squirrels and pushy by nature.  So maybe you'll see one someday!

Toronto has tons of huge black squirrels that are supposedly a bit of a tourist attraction :>  They're extremely bold and well-fed, and it seems that the melanistic type is rare in the US so they’re a bit unusual.

the h!av comics don’t even get into half the loathsome shit of that book (and they stop pretty early on), plus it was always kind of weird to me that jane eyre got a harsher treatment in her comics than wuthering did

I wish, because then we could get double the episodes, and with double the episodes, it’s okay if some of them are bad, or just fine. I hope they’ll decide for next season that the shorter runtimes are the way to go.

Thanks 💜 I might have to give it a go now that you reblogged a version that suggests swapping American cider with apple juice! I’ve only ever seen “cidre” used here to mean the alcoholic beverage (it’s Very Big - and very good - in Brittany and Normandy). I’ll just have to get some apple juice, chamomile, and Cayenne pepper. In the meantime, I’ll just down herbal tea after herbal tea with a LOT of honey and try not to bury myself in used paper tissues :P

Yes.  DC has always been big on (most) legacies growing up and taking over their predecessors' role, which complicates things.  I don't know if they even want to keep Axel as a kid, but it's possible he isn't prominent enough to be an official legacy who becomes part of The New Generation.  The Tricksters might just be low-profile enough to coast on the status quo.

Yeah, Toad is an excellent example -- so much so that they came up with a canon explanation for why his appearance changed so often.  But like I said, I think companies were more likely to keep sheets around when hardcore continuity nerds had a lot of pull in the company.  The same type of nerds who incorporated Cary Bates' mistakes with Roscoe's and Sam's names into their official middle names in the Who's Who guide; they remembered simple errors in a single issue and made them canon just because they could.  These days DC and Marvel are run more by business types than nerds.

He was definitely using reverse psychology!  I feared I was making it too obvious, so toned it down a bit and maybe didn't make it as clear as it could have been...that was my fault.  But yeah, one of Mark's strengths is his charisma, so he knew to play on Roscoe's arrogance and love of a job done right :>

As someone who is viscerally familiar with Pentecostal outfits...wtf? They are the most aggressively gender-normative possible. (On a personal level that alone would make me drop Pinterest because I already freeze up when I see a woman in a long skirt with an updo out in the wild)
