Latimas AU: Alien Abduction
Lati-Ingo awoke, groaning as his senses became aware of the pounding headache he had, and how uncomfortable he felt. When he tried to move his limbs they battled against an unknown barrier. Jolting him to a more aware state as he realized that he was in a strange rectangle container and looking around quickly he saw his brother was in the same situation next to him.
It was only then did Lati-Ingo notice that he wasn’t using his ability and he didn’t feel his dragon or psychic power coursing through his body. He felt void, empty and helpless, something that he hadn’t felt in a very long time. So quickly swallowing back a need to panic he wondered how they ended up here together; they had been on separate missions that day, in completely different dungeons from each other.
Despite the pain in his head, Lati-Ingo thinks back to what he remembers last-he had been using his Pokemon explorer badge to send back the rescued Pokemon along with his teammates, when something happened, the usual light that engulfed him to go home, changed colour -there had also been an odd buzzing sound before darkness overtook his senses and he awoke here.
He’ll make a large assumption that the same must have happened to his brother.
As Lati-Ingo tried to get Lati-Emmet’s attention, he discovered that this container must be blocking sound as well, because Lati-Emmet didn’t seem to hear him, only taking notice when he waved his claws around.
They greeted each other briefly before turning their attention back to the room they were in. It was odd, many computers and strange machines, with blinky lights that flashed and flickered which was surprising in itself. While he and his brother were interested in human tech, they had never seen anything actually working before, most were rusted or partly destroyed these days.
When the humans disappeared, most Pokemon didn’t care much for the human devices and their upkeep, only select groups managed to keep certain old tech running like the Pokemon Centers that the Chansey and similar Pokemon were in control of.
Lati-Ingo suddenly notices movement to his right and turns to see a large Beheeyem along with many others, coming in through a doorway, some already heading towards the computers and pressing buttons on the keyboards.
Why had they captured him and Lati-Emmet? He tried to ask them this question, but again the container kept him from being heard or the Beheeyem chose to ignore his question as they didn’t respond to him.
Lati-Ingo feelings about this situation were getting worse, he recalls his Uncle mentioned once that Beheeyem had the power to control Pokemon minds and tamper with their memories. These Pokemon could do who knows what to him and his brother and they wouldn’t even remember…then a terrible thought occurred to him…was this even the first time this had happened?
---------------------------------------------------
Originally this had been called 'Trapped' but realized 'Alien Abduction' was a better fit, I'll have to draw something else for the word/Art prompt 'Trapped'. Anyway while trying to figure out what I wanted to draw I saw this photo from the post below.
And well I got stupidly inspired with an idea and also thought that it would suit my word/art prompt challenge.

With the resurgence of Kubo Content ("resurgence" - it's, like, a small handful of asks), I wonder: what would Kubo think of modern ghost Akari? Any of them - faked death, rescued by Celebi, plain ran away, amnesia, etc - all of them, even. Or, a secret happy(ish) thing - an au where Kubo got to grow up relatively happy (maybe someone intervened earlier, maybe the parents were actually decent people in this dimension - like how Batman's parenting skills change with every iteration - IDK, he just got to be a bit happier), so he gets to play Cool Uncle to Emmet's Fun Uncle and Ingo's Protective Dad Uncle.
I like to think Adult Kubo would be pretty excited to play uncle to Akari, but also be like. Aware, sorta, that this girl is PROBABLY reincarnated like him. He would certainly be the first to figure it out and likely the first to hear the entirety of Akari's story, although he'd keep quiet about it until she's comfortable revealing it to anyone who ISN'T themselves a reincarnation.
I think Ingo and Emmet would be a little confused by Kubo treating Akari like an actual human child until they find out OH SHE'S A DEAD HUMAN CHILD, KUBO DID YOU KNOW????

Notes for Submas in Rapture so I can empty my brain
Ingo and Emmet with their passion for trains went down to Rapture with their employer Prentice Mill. They both helped blueprint, engineer, and manage the Atlantic Express trains and railways.
When the Express was sold off, the twins went with it, and despite their attempts at contacting their now former employer to convince him otherwise, they never hear from Mill again.
Around the same time Johnny Topside was hoppin around Rapture, the twins, namely Ingo are put under some scrutiny and allegations, I don't really know what but something bad enough that Ingo got sent to Persephone. Because someone's gotta suffer, right.
Anyway, in his brother's absence, Emmet does his damndest to keep the Atlantic Express running in spite of all the splicers and the literal Civil War going on. But eventually he's chased away
Maybe he joins Atlas's revolution bc hey, what does he have to lose at this point, but eh, it doesn't sit right with me. Then again, that could be how Emmet feels about it too. It just generally doesn't settle well with him, but if there's a way to stick it to Andrew Ryam he'll take it.
Back to Ingo, I imagine he meets a similar fate to Topside, Plasmid Test Dummy turned Alpha Series and bonded to a single Little Sister
And that Little Sister is Akari in my mind. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I am a sucker for Pokemon Legends Arceus. And also a sucker for Uncle/Papa Ingo dynamics
I have this scene in my mind where Ingo and Akari are out harvesting ADAM when Emmet sees them and watches them for a bit before realizing this Big Daddy has his brother's mannerisms. It even sounds like a train instead of a whale like the rest (which is also 'cause Ingo's too loud for the BD voicebox so he fucked that up).
Anyways, Emmet immediately makes an assumption and tries to go to Ingo. However, he's still a Big Daddy, one bonded to this little girl.
In my mind, Akari is a special case as a Little Sis, as she's full of curiousity which in the ADAM tainted state of mind means she doesn't see a threat until it hits her and Ingo doesn't hurt anything unless Akari tells him to. Neither of them like it when people get too close though, even if they don't see it as a threat
That is to say Emmet gets pretty damn close before he's pulled away by some of his braver allies. All the while begging for his brother.
Neither Akari or Ingo really hear him, not in their states of mind. But they can see his emotion.
"Who was that, Papa?" Ingo lets out a low whistle. "He looked lonely." Another, higher whistle in agreement. "Maybe the next time we see him, we should say hi! I think he'd like that!" He sighs so softly.
I'd like that too
Back to the storyline, I like to think that Ingo and Akari find Jack after he fell through the vents in an escape from Fontaine, helping Tenenbaum and the other little girls bring him to the Sanctuary
Ingo, seeing all the little girls just being little girls has a moment of clarity, some light through the fog of his mind.
He doesn't want Akari to spend the rest of her life in Rapture.
So he leaves her with Tenenbaum and leaves, both the cure and separation causing him to go into a coma.
The last thing he gives Akari is a hat they had found on their travels that she had him try on. It's a bit big on her head, but she'll grow into it.
Then his little girl is cured and rescued.
Until more little girls go missing around the world and Tenenbaum goes back down to rapture.
Over the eight years of surface life, Akari has been raised by her Uncle Jack and Aunt Brigid, always remembering her dear Papa. She shows interest in the scientific field, so when she's old enough she begins working as an apprentice under her Aunt, learning everything the good doctor does and doesn't teach her
Thanks to her "pursuit of science" mindset she can handle large amounts of grotesque scenery and gore. She has even thought about specializing in Forensic Sciences when she gets the chance
Back to the return, although Tenenbaum insists Akari stays behind, the young girl manages to sneak onto the submersible and didn't get caught until they both had to flee from Splicers
After some reprimanding, Akari stayed with Tenenbaum and their rescued little sisters until Eleanor and Delta come along
Watching her Aunt bring an Alpha Series back to life, it gave the girl hope for her dad
So through more mischief and stubborness, she ends up tagging along with Delta and Sinclair (she calls him Gus, much to his disdain) to head to Persephone. Or in her case, simply to Fontaine Futuristics. If there's anywhere a comatose Alpha Series could be, it's there
At some point, they find Emmet, tug him along, ya know. 'Course, Akari hasn't told him who she is, but she doesn't think that's the best thing to share at the moment
Soon enough they get abducted by Lamb, escape, rescue Ingo and Gus, get outta Rapture via lifeboat and dozens of children, and all live happy on the surface

Evil thought but maybe during their attempt to rescue Emmet Ingo winds up taking a bullet/arrow or whatever for him (really it's just a graze) but still it's a moment of horror for poor Emmet.
It would certainly make the Rebels trust Ingo completely after that point, that he was willing to put himself in that sort of danger directly. Its one thing to go along with a plan, but its an extra mile to put his actual physical life on the line like that.
Emmet though is in an Absolute Panic. Ingo got hurt for him. Could have DIED for him. And that's scary, that's so so scary. He already lost his Uncle to the violence, losing Ingo would completely break him. It's hard and takes a While to comfort him, but he will stick to Ingo like glue and promises to protect him no matter what from then on.

Eelektross probably has to be coaxed away from Ingo after Emmet has been kidnapped. And Emmet later will likely have his arms full of Eelektross and Chandelure after he's saved.
Yes! So, in the reunion scene, the fact that Ingo was wrapped in Eelektross and Emmet had Chandelure at his side were what really sold it to the grunts watching them that the one in black was Ingo and the one in white was Emmet.
Eelektross was also out of his pokeball when Emmet was snatched so his partner was left behind with Ingo. I’m thinking in the chaos of the ambush, Ingo got injured and knocked out and then when the pokemon rushed to his aid/to defend him, Emmet was captured.
Ingo later has one very sad snaky boy clinging to him as they all try to prosses what had just happened. Ingo is also injured so they need Eelektross to let him go so they can look him over. Later when Akari’s mom joins them, once her Blissey, Omlette, gives the ok, Eelektross wraps himself right back around Ingo.
Eelektross is actually a quiet pokemon so he’s a bit shy with all these new faces and sticks close to Chandelure at first. She knows how hard it is to be separated from their trainer so she’s a comforting presence, and she’s there to support him as he did for her when she lost Ingo.
Also! Eelektross verrry experienced with baby pokemon, being the uncle to thousands of joltiks. So he’d coo and dote on lil Peanut, while also offering his assistance to Sneasler however he can.
Oh, Eelektross is so happy to have Emmet back once he’s been rescued. I feel like after loosing Ingo for so long Eelektross might have developed some separation anxiety for Emmet so to have Emmet back is such an overwhelming relief. Chandelure too of course! She wants both her boys safe and with her and burns all the brighter when they are.

thinking about the modern day zoroark possession AU this morning... chiefly how much Emmet knows about the Pearl Clan before shit hits the fan!!
Now, I think the key thing is that Emmet has never met Irida. That would be too much of a clear link between Ingo and the Pearl Clan!! And it’s not that Irida has never visited Gear Station- it’s just that she and Emmet literally always miss each other, lmao. Irida’s got a pretty busy schedule as a college student, which doesn’t leave much time for socializing!!
Akari he’s met. Of course he has. This is the girl who has basically adopted his older brother as her uncle. He doesn’t understand why they’re so drawn to each other, but he likes Akari a lot too!! She’s got the spark of a verrry strong battler in her, and she makes Ingo happy. What is there not to like?
The fact that she’ll never call him Uncle, for one. So mean. :(
He knows Lian!! There’s no way Lian hasn’t asked him questions about Archeops before, since there’s no way he isn’t interested in fossil Pokemon. What Emmet doesn’t know is that Ingo knows Lian, since he’s never seen the two of them together.
He’s seen Ingo with Calaba before, but he just assumes she’s one of the many grandmas that his brother seems to draw in... although this one seems more the lecturing sort than the indulging sort. Emmet avoids her because he does not want to be subject to a lecture, but she’s definitely ended up chiding him once or twice before.
Emmet’s relationship with Palina is... interesting. Palina has her own experience with being rejected by a family that otherwise loved her dearly once they found out she was a Zoroark, so she’s stuck somewhere between wishing the best for Ingo and fearing the worst. She just naturally keeps her guard up around Emmet! Emmet doesn’t really notice, because Palina is from Kalos, and he’s pretty sure they’re just normally kind of standoffish.
Emmet does not understand his brother’s friendship with Gaeric. They are verrry much total opposites. Also Emmet may be the only person in the world who has never seen Gaeric’s bare chest- and therefore his identifying tattoo- so he doesn’t connect him with one of the three Zoroark that raid the research facility to rescue Irida.
Also I know I said Pearl Clan. But yes, Emmet does know Melli. Yes, they do hate each other. He’s worried briefly that Ingo is friends with this one too, but then it just turns out Ingo and Melli’s relationship is that they hate each other and that Melli lives to antagonize Ingo. What a relief.

Well, I just watched the movie The Adam Project (which I recommend, it was really good!) and now I have another submas AU. Take my movie summary and disorganized ramblings under the cut!
So the premise of the movie is a guy tries to go back in time to save his wife from a cover up accident. They're both time travelers from the future. Guy's ship gets damaged in a dogfight as he's making the jump, he misses the time he was trying to get to by a few years, and finds his 12 year old self
His 12 year old self had lost his father recently, and was being bullied in school. Rough time. He was also having trouble with his mom (bc of what he was going through)
So the people responsible for the coverup come from the future and surprise! They're the dad's business partners! They're trying to fight past and present guy, when the wife shows up, having lived in the past for the past 4 years (bc she didn't die)
Things go down, they escape but the bad guys catch up with them, and wife tells future guy he needs to keep time travel from being invented. They're already living in a timeline where the business partner wins. Wife sacrifices her life to buy them time
Past guy and present kid escape, regroup, go to the repaired time traveling ship and go back in time four years earlier to when time travel was invented by their dad. They go talk to him, family baggage and explanations are had and it's all very emotional, and then they go to the facility to destroy the reactor from where time travel was invented. The dad helps, and there's a showdown at the facility. Turns out present version of the business partner was manipulated by her future self to do all this. There's a fight, which at the climax ends up with future business partner accidentally shooting her past self and vanishing. The reactor, which was damaged, explodes
While the timeline resets, the dad and his two timeline sons get some time together before they both vanish, back to their respective times, leaving the dad alone. No one quite remembers what occurred. Just echoes of things they were supposed to do, deja vu, and people they were destined to meet. The movie ends with everything going better for all the iterations of the main character
so that's the normal movie
NOW MY IDEA. Somewhat inspired by the movie and also @/nartothelar's possession AU!
It's right after Ingo vanished. Emmet is not doing well. He's not cruel or unkind but he'd hard to talk to, alone, breaking down. His uncle, who he's staying with, is having a hard time reaching him. But then his own far-flung future self crash lands in his life and, much like the movie, someone is after him (future plasma? Interpol? someone). He was trying to get back to rescue Ingo from vanishing, but instead oops! he crash lands in the life of himself from like a decade ago! Cue the shenanigans of the two trying to get along and whatnot, and keep Drayden from knowing.
Their adversaries come and attack when future Elesa saves their asses and helps them escape. It ends up unknown what happens to her, but future emmet is devastated. Elesa was his only family left, the only one who mattered to him left.
The two of them get back to the plane and travel back x amount of time and... there's Ingo. He can help them fix this, he's the only one who saw the original portals they have to close. but future emmet is angry at Ingo, angry at him for vanishing, for dying in the past in a way that it would wreck the timelines to save him. (Also this is warden Ingo at this point; they're in Hisui trying to fix the rift and prevent chaos from happening later on)
Maybe it's Volo chasing them, actually?? Anyways, Warden Ingo leaves, and then present Emmet realizes.... Future Emmet is mad at Ingo because Ingo left. Because he vanished. and like the theme in the original movie, it's easier and safer to be angry at the person who is gone than to grieve them.
The two Emmets go to close the rift, hoping some plan will make itself clear, when they're joined by Warden Ingo who tells them if they use the plates or take the plates or whatever I want to go with, then they can help close the rift. I am still working out how the showdown works, but it definitely involves Volo, maybe some of the other PLA characters??? Something like the original!
But yeah they do it, and in the end, they get to talk and have one last pokemon battle before both Emmets disappear, back to their Unovan timelines, and Ingo is left with the knowledge in his heart that... he will never see either of them again, just like the dad in the movie. He dies long, long before their time.
Present Emmet is left exactly where he was when the movie started. but this time... This time he talks to his uncle. because deep down he now carries the knowledge that Ingo was alive, that he lived and had people with him who loved him. His brother lived.
Future Emmet is left off too, back with Elesa, and is also better for working out his problems. He can finally let go of his bitterness, grieve, and truly move on.
(I don’t know if I’ll do anything with this AU but it was fun to imagine for sure!!)

I decided to make some oc kids for Ultra conductor shipping and Ultra station shipping.
Ultra Conductor shipping: Logan Trevithick, his name comes from Loganberry, he was born a year after Fraise rescued Ingo and returned him to modern times, He almost a carbon copy of Ingo and his uncle Emmet, save for his right eye that has partial heterochromia.
It looks like someone was coloring it gray but then remembered it was supposed to be lime green halfway through, and patch of blue skin on his shoulder blades, it almost shaped like wings, according to his aunt Skyla anyways...
Logan is a very curious and reserved child and who clings to both of his parents. He’ll often ask Ingo about the battle subway and if he cam come see his dad battle next time? or talk his mom about her time with the international police or ask about her original home world and if she ever misses it? He’s currently being taught by his dad how to battle.
Logan’s first partner Pokémon is Honedge.
=========================== (Time line two) ===========================
Ultra station shipping: June and Tay, their names come from Juneberries and Tayberries, June and her brother Tay were born to Emmet and Fraise exactly nine months after Emmet and Ingo’s birthday, they look like their ultra human mom they have her blue skin, dark red hair except their eyes are gray like Emmet’s and they have the unique Trevithick arrow-burns/fringes.
June is a total daddy’s girl she follows Emmet everywhere and always asks him about the battle subway and how many trainers he’s defeated as she hopes to one day take over or challenge it! While Tay is the total opposite he’s a Momma’s boy he’s often seen sticking close to his mom and seems to always be upset with Emmet for some reason...
Fraise has suggested that maybe Tay is jealous of how close Emmet and June are and wants to have relationship with his dad too, Emmet does try and spend time with his boy but it’s always awkward as Tay shows little interest to no in battles. until he sees his mom, whom he thought disliked Pokémon and battling, Battled one of Emmet’s creepy stalkers who tried to kidnap June and Tay.
Fraise told them their father was the one who taught her how to properly use Pokémon, suddenly Tay’s attitude towards Emmet did a 180 he’s joining his sister in pestering Emmet about the battle subway and asking him to train.
June’s partner Pokémon is Grubbin.
Tay’s partner Pokémon is Tirtouga.

39, 42, 43 for Janus? 👀
39. When people look at your character, is there some assumption they might make about them just by appearance? Is that assumption correct?
Janus almost always has a smile on his face, so people often assume he's a very upbeat, optimistic person - and this is true! However, Janus also uses his smile to hide his true emotions, so sometimes his outward appearance does not match what he's feeling inside. There are also times where Janus will change his expression on purpose to mess with people, such as frowning suddenly to trick people into thinking he's angry with them, then switching back to his normal grin and saying "Just kidding!" Some people also find his expressions irritating, thinking that he's smug or doesn't take anything seriously, though in that case they've fallen for the persona Janus presents on purpose.
Janus also almost always wears a uniform - either the Subway Boss uniform or the Ginkgo Guild uniform depending on the arc - so people tend to assume he takes great pride in his work, which is correct! Janus considers both the Battle Subway employees and the Ginkgo Guild members to be his family, so by wearing their uniforms, he feels connected to them!
42. Is there anything in your character’s past that they regret, haunts them, or they wish they could change?
Before the Hisui Arc, the moment in Janus's past that most impacts him is when Ingo went missing. Only about a month before Janus was planning to start his journey as a trainer to gain the experience he needed to one day become a Subway Boss himself, his Uncle Ingo went to Lostlorn Forest to train and never came home. Janus put his journey on hold to assist the search and rescue teams, but it was to no avail. Janus was meant to go with Ingo to train that day, but ended up canceling the plans to go to the Nimbasa amusement park with his friend Amelia to ride a new roller coaster instead. Because of this, Janus blames himself for Ingo going missing, feeling that it wouldn't have happened if he'd been a more responsible trainer and gone with him. He knows deep down that he's not at fault, but it doesn't change his feelings. Even after deciding to start his journey after all a few months later, Janus still dedicates most of his energy to trying to solve his uncle's disappearance, investigating any and all rumors that he thinks might be related.
This search leads him to end up being thrown through space and time via mysterious ruins in Sinnoh, arriving in Hisui and losing most of his memories in the process. After this point, his greatest regret is his lack of memory. He knows that he's forgotten something important, and frequently worries over the people he knows he left behind, even if he can't remember them.
43. Does your character have a switch that changes aspects of their personality whether they are around friends, family, etc. Is there someone who gets to see their true self?
Janus hides his feelings behind his cheery expression and mannerisms, though most of the time, his smile is genuine. While he's truly friendly and outgoing, he doesn't show his most honest feelings and self to anyone but those he considers close friends and family. Prior to the Hisui Arc, these people were quite numerous, and anyone who spent time with him for long enough would be able to pick up on his various moods without too much difficulty, even though he expresses himself differently than most people.
However, after he ends up in Hisui and loses his memories, Janus becomes much more guarded. This is partially due to his amnesia, but also because people in Hisui tend to be wary of him - seeing him as an outsider and finding him strange and even threatening due to being a Faller. Janus doesn't want to get hurt or shunned even more, so only opens up around a very select few people and even then, the only person who he shows his most true self to is Volo.

PLA SPOILERS BELOW
Akari has been exiled from Jubilife into the wilderness, unable to return until she fixed the sky. Ingo is going to find her and help her.
Another fic! I put up a post with a list asking what prompts people would like to see in the next fic, and it got a reblog mentioning Akari’s exile, so I finished this one up first for the kind person who responded to my question!
OR read it on AO3 here!
Enjoy!
————
Tears ran down the ex-survey corps member’s face as the sun dipped lower and lower towards Hisui’s mountain line. With the weakened natural light waning, the already-overpowering red tint of the dark sky only grew stronger.
Akari sat within a small tent constructed in the forests of The Heartwood, near Lord Kleavor’s abode and away from Jubilife. She was holding Ember, her Quilava, tight like a teddy bear for comfort; tears that fell upon the fire Pokémon’s warm body sizzled quietly, but Ember did not mind; her trainer - her partner - was visibly upset.
They had kicked her out.
After everything that had happened!
Lost in the world from the moment she woke up on that beach, a single act of kindness had been extended to her by a man who found her there. He didn’t know her and had no reason to trust her, but he extended a chance to her anyways. It led to everything she would have asked for; a home, food and clothes, and friends…family. Not just with the town of Jubilife Village, but with the clans as well.
It had started off as just a job for Akari, something to do in return for basic necessities, but her work for the Galaxy Team began to be motivated by love over time. She loved these people who (she thought) loved her, and she loved that they were trying to hard to love each other, to unify their clans - she was glad her work was helping them.
Akari’s heart had become attached to the people of Hisui, to the Pokémon and to her work. So when the sky bruised over and Commander Kamado blamed her, a child who knew as much about what was happening as anyone else did, he painfully ripped the tethers of her heart out.
What did she do wrong? Surely, she didn’t do any of the wicked things the commander accused her of. Everyone present had defended her to some degree, but in the end, nothing came of it. The commander exiled her with an impossible task of fixing the sky, condemning anyone who would help her, and with a heavy heart, Cyllene led her out of the village and into the wilderness, cut off from everyone she had come to love.
So she left. Akari couldn’t bring herself to stray very far from Jubilife though, and pitched her tent in the Obsidian Fieldlands, where the towering tree was. The sounds of the forest always comforted her, but during this time, it did little to help.
Recalling these events in her mind pushed new tears from Akari’s eyes, and she wiped them with her thick sleeve, now damp from having done this several times over.
Akari didn’t hate anyone for what happened. She was just confused on why things had to happen the way they did.
The sun had set, leaving the wilderness tinted dark red. Akari peeked out of the small tent, gazing up at the kaleidoscope patterns in the clouds through the canopy of the forest.
The sky scared her. She didn’t know what was happening, or what was about to happen. She just wanted someone with her. But it had been hours since her exile, and no one had come. She shouldn’t have expected anyone to come, no one was allowed to.
But she still hoped someone would.
Ember licked a few tears away from Akari’s face once she stopped wiping at them herself, in an attempt to comfort her. The young girl sniffed as she hugged the Quilava tighter, burying her face in its warm fur.
At least she still had her Pokémon.
Akari froze when she felt Ember perk up in her arms. Was something approaching?
Was a wild Pokémon stalking them?
Ember indicated no aggravation though. She did not growl, she just stared between the trees into the red, hazy distance from Akari’s lap.
Akari let Ember out of her arms and slowly stood up, taking a few cautious steps out of the tent to investigate.
It took a few moments of silence for Akari to hear something far off. It sounded…like her name being called..?
Turning her head in the direction of the sound, Ember came to her side as the young girl waited, stiff and silent to confirm what she thought she heard.
“Akari? Are you out here? Akari!”
Even without the “miss” he usually added before her name when addressing her, Akari knew exactly who was calling for her.
“Ingo!” The girl sobbed. Her legs almost gave out on her as she hurried between the trees in the direction of the warden’s voice, Ember following closely behind and yipping loudly.
“I’m here!”
——
The moment Ingo had heard of Akari’s banishment, his chest filled with ice.
Accusing a child of conducting a grand plan to throw the world into chaos? Kamado had been in that office of his for way too long.
Ingo always thought she was somehow connected to the gaping rip in the atmosphere above the mountain (and wondered if he was too, by chance), but when the sky blistered and the gash in the heavens deepened, the idea of it being Akari’s fault never entered his mind. And if it did, it would have been laughable, if not aggravating.
It quickly became the latter when word spread of what Kamado had ordered.
Ingo had suspected something bad had happened when Irida returned back to the Pearl Clan Settlement, visibly upset and calling for a meeting.
Starting the meeting off with Akari’s exile was not the best idea on Irida’s part, though; Ingo was already gone before she could even explain that, for the sake of relations, assistance or involvement from either clan was prohibited.
Ingo knew better to go to Jubilife. The village liked to group him and the child together when it came to matters of the rift in the sky. And why wouldn’t they? He had appeared out of nowhere one day, just like her. The two were the same to the people of Hisui.
Ingo had heard Irida explain Kamado had tried to jail Akari, and it took a severe amount of backlash for him to lessen it to an exile. Surely, if Ingo proceeded to Jubilife now, he would be imprisoned.
So the warden immediately started combing through the wilderness, far away from Jubilife, but slowly making his way closer as he continually found no trace of her.
It had been hours into his search by now, and he found himself nearing the Obsidian Fieldlands, namely The Heartwood, having repeatedly called out to receive no answer. He had been calling for her over the hours, and even though he had a strong voice, it was starting to grow hoarse.
The sun had gone down, leaving the land in red, and the monumental tree that Lord Kleavor called it’s home towered above the rest of the forest, like a dormant giant.
None of his Pokémon had returned to him yet either, and he counted that as both good and bad news. The warden had sent them all out in search of Akari, and Ingo wanted nothing more than for one of his Pokémon to return, Akari in tow. But what if she was brought back hurt? Or one of his Pokémon had found her fatally injured? The warden was starting to worry himself with upsetting scenarios. Ingo told his Pokémon to return to his lodging at the Pearl Clan settlement if they hadn’t found anything by sundown, and wait for him. At this point, Ingo was wondering if finding them all back there by his return would be a better outcome.
What a terrible situation to have to think like this!
Akari was a child! How could Kamado do this to her?
Ingo’s boot splashed as he crossed a stream, nearing the forest. Would Akari have possibly chosen this place as her shelter?
Regardless, he was going to search the area. Safety checks involved inspecting every section thoroughly.
“Akari!” The warden called out again from the edge of the woods, startling a flock of sleepy starly from a nearby tree. “Are you out here?”
Nothing but the wind was heard, whistling lightly through the red-tinted trees. Even the Pokémon of the forest were quiet.
He proceeded further in, pushing leaves and branches aside.
“Akari!” He called once more.
“Ingo!”
The warden directed his attention to his left, towards the voice he had been waiting to hear for hours.
“I’m here!”
Akari burst through the foliage of the forest with Ember shortly following, running for Ingo with tears in her eyes. Worry was replaced by profound relief in the warden’s mind, and his heart, filled with compassion, broke at the sight of the girl.
He knelt down and opened his arms for her, and a weight buried itself in his chest as arms wrapped tightly around his middle. Ember was jumping at Ingo’s feet, excited to see him.
“You came for me!” Muffled sobs dampened Ingo’s tunic as small hands tightly gripped his coat. “You came!”
“I did as soon as I heard what happened,” Ingo added as he embraced Akari, letting her cry into him as he held her.
“They threw me out! I did everything they wanted me to do! I was a good survey corps member! Why did they throw me out?” Akari spilled her heart out to the warden, her voice cracking under the pressure. “They thought I made the sky like this! I don’t know anything about it!”
“Wrong choices were made,” Ingo assured Akari, his own eyes becoming misty at the the sorry state of the girl. She was shaking in his arms, and if she gripped onto his clothes any tighter, she might had added a new tear to it. “Terribly wrong choices. You are not to blame, Miss.”
Akari pulled away from Ingo, hiccuping and wiping the tears and snot from her face with her sleeve.
“Commander Kamado told me, that I had to fix what was wrong with the sky…if I wanted to ever come back.”
Akari’s sobs still wrenched on Ingo’s heart. Kamado was putting way too much pressure on her; she was a child. Where was his compassion? His common sense?
Tears still leaked from Akari’s eyes, and Ingo reached out to wipe them away.
“We will figure something out.” He promised her. Ingo had no idea how to respond to what Akari told him. How could anyone “fix” this? Perhaps with time…but uncertainty was not what Akari needed right now, what she needed was reassurance, and he would give that to her.
A small smile appeared on her tear-stained face, but Akari was still mournful.
“But, you’re not supposed to help me,” she sniffed, the sobs easing into hiccups. “Commander Kamado told the clans to stay away from me or else there would be punishment.”
“No one expressed this to me,” Ingo truthfully responded. Anger flared at Kamado again. He was sending this child to her death! “But this will not change my tracks, Miss. I will assist you.”
Akari looked down at the ground, another small choked sob escaping her. But this time, it was spurred by happiness.
The warden was always there for her when she needed it.
“Now, forgive the abrupt change, but do you have all your belongings on your person, Miss Akari?” Ingo questioned as he stood back up, brushing the dust from his knees.
“Ah, I have most of my stuff back at a tent-“ the girl started, caught a little off guard as she patted her eyes dry, the tears finally ceasing as Ember made her way back to the girls side.
“Excellent! Let us go collect them, then we can depart for my encampment.” Ingo pointed off into the forest from where Akari had emerged from. “I have a secure base camp near Lady Sneasler’s abode in the coronet Highlands. I stay there when trips back to the Pearl Clan settlement are too rough due to weather. Now you can stay there too. No one will find you there, and Lady Sneasler will enjoy your company.”
The night sky was still bruised, dark and red, and the land was still cloaked in a deep red hue, setting fear creeping into every person and Pokémon’s heart, but Ingo had driven all the terror out from Akari. She could not thank the warden enough for his compassion and consideration for her.

Masters Post for Warden's Twins AU
so with what looks like a bunch of people seeming to like my little AU, I figured I should get off my butt and maybe make a master post for all this, with links to stuff, and other Ideas. I'm completely open to more Ideas and this AU is completely open for anyone to use, so long as you @ me or send me a link, I'd love to see what you made and I love to know if this inspired anyone. ^^ never made one of these so bear with me. will update as it goes. thanks to everyone who contributed.
basic concept:
Basically, while Akari is trying to complete the Pokedex and Calm the Nobles, Volo and Garitina rip open another space-time rift and end up dragging Ingo and Emmet as kids back into Hisui. the pearl clan finds them and just assumes the Warden's family comes to find him. the twins have no clue that they've time travelled, only that they are in a different region and they still have their starters.
neither side can prove or disprove the family they may or may not have. as Warden Ingo doesn't remember but he does feel a deep closeness with them he just doesn't know why. and the twins had never met their Father only told that he disappeared one day and they've been living with their uncle up until now. all and all the Warden takes them in.
Fic:
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9 chapter 10 Chapter 11 chapter 12 Chapter 13 Chapter 14 Chapter 15 Chapter 16 Chapter 17 Chapter 18 Chapter 19 Chapter 20 Chapter 21 Chapter 22 Chapter 23 Chapter 24 Chapter 25 Chapter 26 Chapter 27 Chapter 28,

I love your submas mermaids! Also, I know you said that Ingo likely wouldn’t be Snealers warden in this au, but like, the highlands to connect to the ocean and the main river leads out to it. It’s not that far a swim from the coastlands! So at the very least he and lady sneasler could still be good friends! Like I could see him rescuing one of her sneaslets when they fall into the harsher part of the river.
OH YEAh—!! I wasn’t looking at the map when i said that ahahahh—
And when Ingo befriends Sneaseler she let’s him take her kits on a tour through the rivers - though only the bigger streams bc he’d get stuck in shallow water pfft- But a cool experience for the babies nonetheless. And when two Nobles trust the weird fish person, I think the clans would be more accepting towards him too (maybe he does become Sneaselers warden mb hh-). Ingo would also definitely swim with kids in the ocean, and he’d sing to them too (certified best uncle),,, OH and imagine Irida learning the songs he always sings and plays it on the flute to him,,, that would probably trigger some of his buried memories…

I get the impression that Laventon and Cyllene took one look at Akari and on one of the nights where both sleep in their quarters, and Laventon’s about to go to fall asleep, Cyllene just hits him with a “I think we should adopt Akari” very nonchalantly, then immediately falls asleep.
Laventon is left with his giddy thoughts unable to sleep the whole night because he is just going “IM PROFESSOR DAD NOW”.
That’s why he gifts you the rest of the starters. 😘
Also… imagine post Volo reveal, Akari probably came back badly wounded because she didn’t expect Volo to attack her. And alright. She is a bit traumatized because she basically met Satan (Volo’s like. The most mediocre and inefficient merchant and acted like a useless idiot but it was all a cover up! To lull you into compliance)
Cyllene noticed this so she sends her Abra to watch over Akari constantly. If she gets injured, a potion suddenly falls from the thin air. And when she’s back to Jubilife Cyllene frets over her… in her own quiet way.
Anyways. The found family posibilites with these characters make me feral.
haha this post got long oops
d;kflskdj okay but that's so Cyllene tho like *admits vulnerability and then immediately dodges having to explain or examine it at all* but also you know Laventon saw the protag fall out of the sky and then admit to being completely alone with no family or place to go and was like "is anyone gonna adopt this teenager" and then didn't wait for an answer. Cuz like yes any scenario is funny but pls imagine Cyllene and Laventon with that "we've been together forever" style psychic bond just taking one look at Akari and then each other like "Teenager Acquired"
Also...my weakness......imagining Professor Dad and Cyllene deciding to have another kid and Cyllene is ofc totally chill about it like no sweat at all but when she tells Laventon she's pregnant he's SO nervous and happy that he spends a week accidentally walking into walls and shit, falls down the stairs once or twice, trips into and over furniture, literally has a shinx chewing on him for half a day and barely notices, cannot hold a conversation, just a Mess(tm).
AND my OTHER weakness ofc cuz Found Family Feels imagining protag Akari being happy but also a little sad like "okay yeah now they have a Real Kid" until the kid is born and when Akari gets to meet them Laventon just goes "see that's Akari your big sister" and Akari just goes FULL
Tumblr media
(same ofc for big brother Rei, and he and Akari are immediately like "I would DIE for this child" because ofc they would)
Plus pls...uncle Ingo...he already helps with the sneasel babies...open that basket and there's like five little sneasel and one human toddler all asleep. I cannot, my heart, sobbing ect.
Also ah yes Volo my favorite dumbass merchant with rabies(I literally want to rescue him from himself cough cough time loop fic) BUT yeah you know after that Akari/the protag was Fucked Up and I can imagine out of everyone Cyllene would be the one to notice Akari being like "I will keep all of my feelings right here and then one day I'll die" about it and she's like "I'm not gonna make you drag all this Shit(tm) out BUT I am going to absolutely dial up the stealth mom vibes by 500"
(sdkfkldj ALSO abra just fuckin' teleporting a potion to Akari IS adorable but now I'm imagining the abra just being a bit dumb about it and so there are a few times where said potion gets dropped ON Akari or like...over a cliff or something, or like it's getting tossed from off stage left...like look that abra has dumb lazy cat vibes I'm just saying and it's fucking hilarious dklfjdlksj also tbh I can see Akari not saying anything even tho it's OBVIOUSLY Cyllene because she appreciates the Stealth Mom thing even if the results are uh...mixed)
But I also like the idea of Akari/protag just...falling apart like that's the final straw they just Can't and burn out SO hard and we gotta get a FULL found family intervention going we get Cyllene, Laventon, Rei, fuckin' Ingo, everybody is gonna let Akari know she is loved gdi!!! Akari is on the Depressed Express and everyone is getting together to Derail That Train with the power of friendship and love.

LP D&D: Your Reward is the Satisfaction of a Job Well Done
Between sessions, Ludovik and Rich’s longstanding rivalry came to a head, and Ludovik decided to leave. Thankfully, the group was able to work things out like adults, and the separation happened pretty cleanly. To this day, I don’t really get what was going on between them, but I guess everything worked itself out in the end, so whatever. I’m just glad the saga didn’t turn into the kind of clusterfuck people on /tg/ like to talk about.
At the beginning of the session, Rap was playing around with a voice changer for whatever reason. Apparently, one of the presets sounded enough like me that nobody could tell the difference. Am I truly a unique person, with my own wants and needs, or am I some sort of construct off an assembly line, an excitation in the Kim field no different than any other? Is there some hidden land of Kims deep in the woods, where we could find solace from the often terrifying and confusing non-Kim world, free to swear like sailors, nurse our wounds, and watch Neil Breen movies long into the night?
...Uh, that took a weird turn. Content under the break.
Merrow thanks the party for saving his life
Hier is arrested
Graham lays hands on Esmeralda
Nudge nudge, wink wink
Coy attempts to locate the body of the gnoll shaman, but is unable to
Coy retrieves a handful of the coins the sisters use to communicate
Escrima and Graham try and retrieve some lost equipment
The ship and estate are on fire, so the gang decides to bounce
They make it back home without incident
Lucas wants barkeep to get him the strongest drink on the multiverse
Coy goes to say hi to Akim
Akim thinks the explosions are the hypest
Coy wishes him a happy birthday
Akim thinks her hugs are better now
The players think about that too much
Graham hangs out with Frederick, his squire
He breaks the news of Osric’s death
Graham declares himself “duke”
Fred reminds him that “those of the fairer sex” aren’t in the line of succession
Graham suggests they consider his uncle, then
The alcohol is strong, and everyone is completely smashed
Except Coy, since she was away for the first round
“Did I ever tell you about the time I rescued Esmeralda from a dragon?”
Coy orders a round of coffee for the party so they can sober up
And then orders a round for herself
She’s a little buzzed, but not like the others
“Coy, I love you, I don’t care what your hair looks like, I don’t care if you cut your hair, you’re a beautiful butterfly... creature...”
Greg has a personal crisis
He starts his routine in the pond
GregnLucas ERP in the pond
Coy pulls them out so they don’t drown
Connie has an epic battle with the stairs, and loses
The next morning afternoon, the party wakes up, and is hungover
Except Graham, because paladin or something
Thankfully, Rocky keeps potions of restoration in the attic
Coy stays in “bed” for some short rests
There’s some mail
One letter is from Rolen
He says that the hallucinations he’d been having have gotten to be too much, and he is heading to mithril hall to search for his ex //Honestly, the most disappointing thing about the whole OOC situation was that we never got to figure out what that stomach spider bullshit was going to go
One is for Coy
That will she altered turns up. Apparently she’s owed some inheritance. The attorneys want her to drop in //During the vampire subplot, Coy found some victims dead in their apartment. She also found their will, and wrote herself in
One is from the sheriff’s office, for Lucas
They are grateful for our help
They’ve found out what happened to his brother
Lucas runs off to check it out
Graham gets a letter from Merrow
It’s about Hier’s trial
Hey Coy, what’s that in your pocket? //Coy stole a pendant off a noble later revealed to be Merrow a couple sessions back for no particular reason
Is that Merrow’s?
Coy says she’ll commit seppuku before telling
It might be a good idea to get it back to him somehow
Connie gets a letter too
It’s from her parents, Ida & Ingo Cooper
It’s been circulating for a while
Ingo has died. Ida wants her to come to the funeral. It’s in Neverwinter
Apparently, they’re waiting for her to get there
Lucas goes to Castle Waterdeep
On the broom
He’s broken a law, is he stupid?
But I saved the ci-
WATERDEEP IS A CITY OF LAWS, NOT OF MEN
Lucas tries to rules-lawyer his way out of a 500 gp fine
WATERDEEP IS A CITY OF LAWS, NOT OF MEN
Saving cops isn’t worth edgyLucas’ time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WRrAeQqVs8
The gang catches up to him
Graham asks for a copy of the paperwork
Coy tries to steal the money back
Despite a poor sleight of hand roll, she gets 800 gp
Graham and Lucas have a brief heart-to-heart
They’re the only original party members left
Coy totally didn’t steal that money back
She becomes inspired again
She gets pissed at Lucas for fucking up pronouns
Before they get to the sheriff’s office, they pass by the attorney’s office
Coy decides to pop in
She says something offensive to the gnomes that work there about their tiny baby arms
Coy signs some paperwork, and obtains a winery estate, and a house.
Winery is in Baldur’s Gate
House is in Waterdeep
They arrive at the castle
Vigo is happy to see the gang
He has a report on Lucas’ brother.
He was wounded in the raid of Mossstone
He was later redeployed to the front lines again
Apparently the sisters’ army has sacked Athkatla
Lucas wants a flying license
It’s 1000 gp
Gotta take tests and stuff
Lucas no longer wants a flying license
The gang remembers that they only have like 5kgp, and decide to confront Rockseeker about it
Rocky congratulates us of our victory
But he reminds us that they remain a threat
He predicts that they will throw everything they have against the city soon
Connie tells Rocky about the coins //Soldiers in the Sisters’ army carry coins that their superiors communicate through
Apparently, they’re stones of sending
Rocky says they’re short range only. Lame!
He says he can reset them to work for the party, so that’s cool
He tells us that we’re to participate in the trial of Lord Hier, and shouldn’t leave town yet
Lucas wants cash
Rocky is reluctant to pay up
He points us towards Merrow
Lucas breaks the news of Gandalf’s death to the party
Lucas says that he killed him
Necromancy, torture, I had to do it, pushed into lava
Angered with their lack of compensation, the gang decides to go see Merrow
Of course we have an appointment! Who do you take us for?!
Someone who doesn’t have an appointment, duh
Graham just tells the guards who we are
The guards are “a little bit pissed off, having to like, do things”
Merrow’s assistant says he’s busy, and we should wait a while
The anteroom is pretty nice, though, so it’s okay
Coffee and pastries are served
He wants a DEAL
Connie gets promoted to LORD OF WATERDEEP HOLY SHIT
Representing Athkatla, of course
You know, since she’s been a lord from there for like two weeks
Merrow offers us 500 gp
He wants Graham to serve as a judge during Hier’s trial
Merrow assures Lucas that the matter of Beydale will be addressed soon
Kim reminds the party about the black shield of blackness //A suspicious magic item from before my time.
It’s a +3 shield! Holy cow!
PVP!
Coy is brandishing her sword, and accidentally makes a swing at Lucas
It goes straight through Lucas’ leg
He pulls it out, spraying leg viscera all over the ground
Lucas cures wounds
He’s not giving the sword back
Shopping ensues
As per usual, the party gets in a fight with a shopkeeper for not having good enough wares //We should’ve waited until Connie could go the the dark assembly the Waterdeep city council meeting to pass a “more expensive stuff” bill
Max wants to learn minor illusion, and JP says it’s gonna be tough
Connie goes to get her clothes fixed.
It’s gonna be a week
The gang visits Coy’s new house
It’s a little bit of a wreck
The bed’s still gross
Coy wants to set Akim up there with a tutor/nanny
He’s looking for Julie Andrews
Or Dick Van Dyke
Probably that guy
She spends a few days looking for a suitable caretaker
Coy leaves him in Waterdeep with Rich, the tutor
Akim is ecstatic about the house
He gets his own room!
He can store all his toys
Like his ragdoll, and, uh,
That’s kind of it, actually
It’s name is “Alfie”
Coy thinks about getting him some new toys
“Will you be my mom, Coy”
Coy gives him a noncommittal answer
Rich the tutor gets 7 gp per month
Coy decides to take the displacer cub with her to train
Akim is devastated
Constanza sends a letter back to her folks detailing her situation
She also summons Paz, the slithering metal gear reference //It’s a tsuchinoko
During the ritual, she has a vision of her parents finding her as a baby, and also some commotion
Lucas and Graham resume shopping
Lucas orders a suit of medium armor with Graham’s help
They head to a jeweler next, to look for a decent wedding/engagement/whatever ring for LucasnGreg
Coy gets some daggers/throwing knives
Graham goes looking for a bag of holding
A shady street vendor approaches him
It’s 1kgp
It’s covered in blood
Graham doesn’t want to know where he got it from
He buys it, and the guy runs off
Coy goes to sell the shield
The shopkeeper isn’t buying that the shield is magical
Coy offers to demonstrate it
The shopkeeper is convinced, and pays 300 gp
Lucas wants some Lupe venom
Escrima is gatekeeping her “precious fluids”
They get half a vial of venom
Graham attunes to the shield
Lucas tests out sending to talk to everyone he knows
He gets no reply from his parents
He recalls that Baldur’s Gate uses anti-magic materials in prisons. Oh no!
His brother and his buddy are okay, though
Lucas teaches Coy minor illusion, in exchange for more draconic later
Coy gives Akim a hand crossbow. It’s giant and dangerous
The warehouse roof is finished //We wanted to have the roof of Lupe’s hangar open on the off chance we could use her for something
As are the other orders we placed
Summons for Hier’s trial arrives
Items are recovered from Rolen’s room
Connie is to be at peaktop aerie at midnight for confirmation as a lady of waterdeep
Connie asks the whole party to accompany her
Merrow arrives in a carriage to take the party to the aerie
Merrow reminds the party that only the lords are supposed to speak
But they can appoint an assistant that can whisper to the lord
She appoints Graham
Apparently, Rocky is a lord. This surprises nobody
A lord asks where Catarina is
A nat 20 convinces them that she’s not full of crap //In-universe, “Catarina” is a kingdom in a children’s book Connie used to like. “Constanza de Catarina” is not actually her given name. She just made it up because it sounded cool and foreign.
They seem to like that the party saved Amswater
All except one lord vote to confirm
What a bitch!
Connie suggests they move to retake Beydale
Some lords agree
Rockseeker throws some shade over the sisters of dawn incident
If the army secures Esmeralton, they’ll move for Beydale
Other topics of discussion include
Increase the number of garbage collectors
A motion to increase taxes on magic shops gets shot down
50k soldiers are to be drafted to the war in the south
Merrow talks about Hier’s trial
Meetings are monthly, but not mandatory
The party gets some winter clothes
During the week, Escrima handled Lupe. She seems trained!
Greg is grateful for Connie’s assistance at the council meeting
He’s also disappointed that Lucas is gonna have to leave again
Lucas suggests that he try and pick up bard-ing
The gang gets a message from Narcovi saying that they couldn’t find crazy eyes’ body
Jake had moving stuff to do, so the session was called there.

You know there's people totally in Ingo's corner with the whole 'Uncle Ingo' thing, just like... he's so supportive of his crime niece unlike SOMEONE WE COULD MENTION. Absolute uncle of the year 10/10, they can do all the crime they want.
There are those who believe he’s now a harden criminal and using this girl for her connections to Team Galactic
There are those who believe that this is all one big misunderstanding and that the two are victims/fall guys of some devious plot the actual Team Galactic cooked up.
And then there are those who fully embrace the crime niece theory and believe in this tiny criminal and her supportive uncle. Some suspect that Ingo must be trying to save the youth from her criminal ways by mentoring her, some think he’s just vibing and looking out for her as he follows along with her plans.
The last theory become very popular once the two start battling trainers they meet on the road. The trainers who challenge them believe that the can stop these dastardly ne’er-do-wells and rescue their historical pokemon! (I believe in you my 8 lv Starly!!) They quickly are beaten and the poor trainer fears the thieves will now steal their beloved Pokémon.
But that’s not what happens.
Instead the trainer is applauded for their efforts and given some helpful tips for their future battles. They even offer to heal their Pokémon! After that exchange the trainer gathers up the courage to ask if they could get a picture of their strange Growlith. It’s just so cute! The two happily agree and suddenly the poke-internet is blessed with close up pictures of extinct pokemon.
Suddenly battling these two on sight is something every young Sinnoh trainer is running out to do! They all want to meet and pet these strange new/old pokemon and these thieves are just so nice to let them take pictures and pet the friendly ones.
The kids even ask them a few questions and again Akari confirms she’s a member of Galaxy Team, Ingo even proudly adding in she’s one of the best. The internet goes wild for these young trainers posted anecdotes.
Somewhere in a hotel room in Sinnoh, Emmet and Eless have a wall with all these post printed out and pined to a cork board with strings attached to them and leading to each other and pinned locations on a map.

okay. trying to stick to fun headcanons for the pla roleswap au this time. let’s see if I accomplish this!
Laventon accidentally discovers that Ingo thinks puns are hilarious. Sure, he still barely emotes when he laughs, but the kid clearly means it. He’s not a punster by any means, but he keeps trying at it bc the kid could use a good laugh every now and again.
Ingo helps Rei bond with his Pikachu and in doing so slowly befriends him. It’s nice to have someone his own age to talk to. He feels like it was something missing in his life in Hisui.
After rescuing him from a potentially bad encounter with an Alpha, Akari carries Ingo piggyback back to the village, much to his embarrassment. He can walk! He only just twisted his ankle! Please put me down, Warden Akari.
Akari: ahahaha. no.
Zisu takes one look at this stick of a kid and decides to teach him hand to hand combat. He needs to learn something to put a little meat on those bones.
Arezu keeps badgering Ingo to cut his hair after it starts growing out, but he never does it. He’s always busy, there’s no time for haircuts. And then after Kamado banishes him and Beni tries to kill him... well, he’s kind of hesitant to let anyone with a blade near his neck. So he just lets it grow.
(oops something not fun snuck in there huh)
Akari braids it for him!
The first time he calls her ‘Aunt Akari’ she just lights up like. Say it again Ingo. C’mon say it again. Say Aunt Akari!
He doesn’t call her that again for at least a week.
He and Lian end up talking a lot. There’s something about the younger boy that’s oddly familiar, but he just can’t put his finger on it...
Akari continues to look after him even after they get back to the present. She basically peaces out after she formally loses her Champion title to the first challenger who beats her and moves to Unova. This leads to the rumors that she’s in a relationship with Drayden since Ingo refers to them both as ‘Uncle’ and ‘Aunt’ which she thinks is extremely funny, but also. no.
Akari’s real name is Dawn, but she actually forget her name too upon arrival in Hisui. Irida names her Akari!
Akari does not regain her memories. Ingo, very slowly, does.
Akari teaches Ingo how to rock climb, and by the time he leaves Hisui, he can quickly scale most surfaces with ease. They keep it up back in the future, going on camping trips together. Emmet tries to come along once, but he did not realize that they fully intended to go using only the most bare minimum equipment possible. He would like to go home now, thanks!
