Rules for mobile! <3

Thanks for coming to my rules page! The general rule of thumb is "don't be an asshole", but if you'd like more detail, here you go:

Mun has DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder). This means I have major memory issues, among other things that aren’t relevant to this blog. I ask that you be patient with me, both when I go offline for IRL things frequently, and when I come back not remembering a lot of things. I will do my best to keep things in order, but this is something that people may need to keep in mind while RPing with me. If you have any questions regarding this, feel free to DM me! Because of the memory issues relating to this disorder, PLEASE DO NOT SOFTBLOCK ME. If you want me to unfollow you, please just hard block. I won't remember that you've softblocked me, and may refollow you. Tumblr also has a habit of randomly unfollowing people, so I might think that was the case.

I will unfollow and block people for vagueposting, Sakura hate, Rock Lee hate, Metal Lee hate, Might Guy hate, and Melli from Pokemon hate.

Mun is 25 years old, and in many verses muse is also of age. meaning I’m open to NSFW threads in certain circumstances. NSFW theads are only available RP partner both mun and muse are 18+. . No goddmodding. Generally, unless your character is especially strong, your attacks shouldn't automatically hit Lee- he's very fast. I also won't assume my attacks will automatically hit your muse! Battle threads are best plotted imo.

On a similar note, please don’t repeatedly send anons or asks trying to pick up new threads! If you wanna thread with me, please communicate. This doesn’t apply to ask prompts, which are totally open! If theres a thread that I've not replied to in a while, PLEASE REMIND ME! I have severe memory issues, and tend to lose threads once in a while.

While I HIGHLY prefer past-tense third person writing, I understand not everyone does, and I will respect a mun’s writing choices- however, I will NOT be doing the same.

I ship chemistry, including with OC’s (ESPECIALLY WITH OCS!!)! If you’re interested in shipping, shoot me a message or include it in the tags of a thread we’re doing! By default, unless a verse specifies, all ships exist in a multiverse space; Lee doesn’t cheat. I will not be shipping with minor muses outside of the Classic verse, where Lee is also a minor! It also will be extremely tame in that verse. If your muse is related to Lee in any canon at all, I will not be shipping with your muse, and if you think this is an ok and cool thing to ask of me just block me thanks. I also will not ever, EVER ship student/sensei ships, and if you ship them get off my blog and block me.

I love ask memes and turning them into threads! After your first reply, I will copy-paste your response to a text post for easier threading, and I’ll gladly tag you in it.

I’ll do my best to tag triggers, and my general tags are for NSFW, blood, gore and death warnings, which are most common due to the nature of Naruto as a series. If you need anything tagged, or if I miss something, let me know!

Open starters are OPEN STARTERS- you do NOT need to be a mutual to reply to them!

Chapter 3: Better than J-dramas

She was looking at me a lot, right?

He slumps down into his couch at home, pondering the girl he just met.

It could just be that she was shy, knew him the best, and so she felt more comfortable turning to him during their lunch break.

Or, it could be his imagination, his ego, talking. But he doesn’t want to be one of those guys, who thinks that every time a girl smiles at him, that means she’s into him.

Or…

He tilts his head in thought. Maybe she liked me a little?

True, they just met, but he’s a pretty attractive guy, right? He knows he’s not ugly, maybe not a 10, but not like a 3, either. He works out regularly, and in his own, awesome opinion, he thinks he’s pretty nice.

Would I like that?

If she is interested in him?

He wouldn’t mind it…

She was rather pretty. She had a nice face and nice skin. Nice, interesting eyes. Nice hair. Nice voice. She was a nice girl. Cute.

Not very fashionable, with her long skirt and sweater layered over another sweater, but maybe that just means she’s not high maintenance (unlike his semi-serious, acting-major ex Shion from sophomore year).

It’s not like he’s really fashionable, either.

He recalls her quiet smiles and determined expressions. Yeah, she was cute. She definitely seemed sorta innocent, which is a quality he doesn’t see too often in girls his age anymore. That seems to really up her appeal to him in ways he doesn’t want to self-examine.

Wonder if she has a boyfriend.

He remembers everything she told him and the things he learned about her online. He knows she doesn’t have any social media accounts, or they at least don’t pop up on search engines. And nothing she said hinted at a special someone.

She did talk about a few friends.

He frowns at the extent of his contemplation. I should just ask her out! It wouldn’t be a big deal because if she says no, he’d probably never see her again after the concert, unless she has another concert, but it’s whatever.

He’s old enough to ask people out casually, isn’t he?

It’s just not something he’s ever really done. With his “free” time in college spent in various theatres around town part-timing, building his network, or watching other shows to learn new design ideas, he doesn’t exactly have a strong dating history. Usually Sakura makes it her personal mission to hook him up with someone, but it’d be nice to not wait for her to find him his next maybe-we’re-together-but-maybe-we’re-just-seeing-each-other fling that inevitably ends because the girl can’t handle his fluctuating work schedule (Monday and Tuesday or Thursday off, work some weekday nights and every weekend).

Imagine if he told her he started dating someone without her help! Hah! He’s not a helpless case after all!

Anyway, it’s not a big deal.

He can do it.

And, if he doesn’t start now, Sakura will run out of willing friends eventually, and he’ll have to start signing up for those dating apps and “sliding” into random people’s DMs, and, well, he’d rather not?

Yeah, yeah, I’ll ask her out for coffee or something.

With that matter settled and tucked away for later, he grabs the remote, turns on the streaming app, and navigates the site to the drama. It’s only 13 episodes long, one hour each. He can definitely marathon it, especially since he doesn’t have to go in for work in the morning.

He’s halfway through the first episode when his flatmate, his best friend, walks in. “Oh, you’re watching Picture Tomorrow.”

Naruto turns to hear Sasuke dumping his stuff in the kitchen. “Yeah, did you watch this?”

“Sakura made me.”

Figures. Naruto turns back to the show.

“You’re not going to like it.”

“I’m not?”

“Well, of course not since the girl dies at the end.”

Naruto turns furiously to see him standing there indifferently. He throws his hands up. “Sasuke!”

“What. You didn’t know that? How could you not know that?”

“Well, I didn’t!”

“Oh.” Sasuke retreats back to the kitchen.

With the end spoiled, Naruto continues the show with less enthusiasm than before. He watches the love interest gaze at the simpleminded heroine curiously. She’s gonna die! Don’t fall in love with her! He sighs as he realizes every single moment watching this drama will now be colored with those thoughts. “Did you like it?” he questions loud enough for Sasuke to hear over the sound of the sink’s running water.

“...”

Naruto watches Sasuke silently deliberating across the serving counter. If he hated it, he would have said so already. “So it’s a good show, then?”

“It’s interesting.”

That’s pretty much Sasuke-speak for ‘it’s great.’ “I’m gonna marathon the whole thing tonight. You wanna join?”

Sasuke grimaces at him.

But a couple minutes later, after he microwaves some leftovers, he joins him on the couch.

“Oh, this is one of her songs,” Naruto comments aloud as the episode flashes a few sponsors before a commercial break.

Sasuke turns to look at him.

“Hinata, the pianist. She’s having a concert at HKT this Saturday, and I’m her point person,” he explains.

Sasuke silently nods.

Throughout the drama, he vocally notices her songs. “This is her song, too...think this one’s called ‘Finally Arrived.’” He mentally considers that the music sounds different from her online profile, like with other instruments added, and he doesn’t doubt that she composed the music for them, too. “Gee, she’s really talented.”

“Hn.”

Eventually Sasuke leaves him alone, and it’s a good thing because when the heroine tells her love interest her diagnosis, but they start dating anyway, Naruto finds himself tearing up.

By morning, he’s got a permanent frown on his face when she tells him she wants to break up with him, while keeping her terminally ill prognosis secret.

Sasuke comes out, readying for work.

“Sasukeeee...why…” he exhaustedly whines.

“I told you you wouldn’t like it.”

“No, no, I like it...I think…”

“Are there still tickets for her concert?”

“Wha? Oh, I dunno...probably…ugh I hate this show...I mean I don’t hate it…”

“Stupid.”

“Noo, this is your fault.”

“Later.” The door clicks shut, and Naruto is left alone to wallow in his misery.

Sasuke doesn’t come back that night, probably staying over at Sakura’s place, so he doesn’t have anyone to voice his thoughts to until the next day when he goes in for work.

He tells the rest of the crew about how his jerk of a flatmate spoiled the ending, and how touching it was that the boyfriend ended up becoming a cancer researcher.

To which their only reaction of note is how Naruto didn’t know that the girl was going to die at the end. “How did you not know that?” “The novel’s been on the best-selling list all season!”

“I just didn’t know!”

When Hinata comes in for her rehearsal, he unthinkingly engages her in his venting. “I finally watched Picture Tomorrow!” he informs her.

Her lips turn up slightly. “Oh, did you like it?”

“Yes! I hated it.”

“Oh…”

“It was so sad,” he bemoans.

“So...you didn’t like it?” she asks.

“No, it was great! It was awful,” he clarifies for her.

It starts quietly, her giggle. He watches her light grey eyes disappear into small slits under dark lashes, and he’s momentarily struck by the realization that he made her laugh.

“Your music was great, too,” he adds, and he suddenly finds himself much more taken with her smile than the drama. She’s wearing make-up today. And a dress. “It completely tied together every scene, it was really nice.”

Her eyes, her entire expression, shines up at him. “Thank you. I’m glad you liked it.”

“Yeah...” He works his hand into the back of his neck. Right before the rehearsal starts would not be a good time to ask her out. So, he redirects his thoughts to his work. “Are you ready to get started?”

She nods, her shy gaze still focused on him, her cheeks still lightly pink from her laughter.

And he notes how she still looks happy as she follows him toward the stage.

He and the rest of the crew clap and give her cheers as she bows to the empty seats.

She turns and looks at him, smiling a scrunched up, embarrassed and amused expression at their antics.

He grins at her, making sure to holler an extra loud “Wooh!”

Her mouth seems to drop open in surprise, her brows furrowing in confusion at his enthusiasm as she comes off the stage into the wings.

“We won’t be able to cheer you on tomorrow night, so we gotta do it today,” he explains. Tomorrow they’ll all be in work-mode. Silent and invisible.

“Oh,” she answers thoughtfully. “Thank you.”

“Yeah! Everything sounded great. Looks like we’re ready for tomorrow!”

She smiles in agreement and nods.

He feels his weight tipping forward toward his toes, an antsiness that urges him to bounce on his feet. Now’s the time, now’s the time.

His senior’s yell bursts through his thoughts. “Hinata! Before you go, I wanted to know if you’d sign this sheet music for my wife. She teaches your songs to some of her piano students.”

She turns from him, her smile directed away. “Oh, sure!”

Naruto lets out a silent sigh.

He doesn’t get another moment alone with her, and he doesn’t want to subject himself or Hinata to the pressure of asking her out in front of everyone.

It’s only later that night when he’s leaving the theatre and walking to the bus stop that it occurs to him he could message her. He has her number saved, at the time it was for “just in case” as her point person.

Well, but asking her out in a message seems like a cop out.

He fiddles with his phone for a few seconds before opening a new thread.

“Hey Hinata this is Naruto”

He sends it before he can regret it.

He waits a minute.

Nothing.

She might be one of those people who doesn’t obsessively check their phone’s notifications.

He starts typing again.

“We’re all getting dinner around 4:30 tomorrow. You’re welcome to join us before your warmup”

He stares at his phone for a few seconds before pocketing it. Based on her response, he might be able to gauge her interest in him. If she responds.

His phone vibrates when he’s nearing his stop, and he’s relieved to see that it’s her as he exits the bus.

“Hello, Naruto, thank you :) I’ll be there!”

A positive response. A pretty normal, positive response.

He doesn’t gauge anything from it, and now he has to figure out how to reply. For anyone else, he would just “like” her reply.

But she’s not exactly just anyone, and he kind of wants her to notice him the way he’s noticing her.

“Great, see you tomorrow”

He considers adding “have a good night,” quickly decides against it, and presses send.

Her reply comes almost automatically. “Yes, have a good night :)”

He frowns at his phone. He should have just added it the first time. Now is it weird to drag on the conversation? Why didn’t she just say “see you tomorrow” in response?

Before he can take any longer thinking about it, he sends a short message.

“You too”

He lets out a long breath.

The last time he exchanged messages with a girl (that wasn’t a platonic friend) was three months ago. That contact didn’t last past the first date, set up by Sakura.

They were incompatible. Little attraction on both sides when it came to conversation.

It would be nice if he could have a relationship. None of this waiting around, none of this feeling the other person out, none of this second-guessing every move, or just trying to make a move.

He’s ready for more.

He's ready for someone to share some sweetness with.

Hey, I was wondering if the characters you make are for your own campaigns, or campaigns you play in. You inspire me to create my own unique characters and I was wondering if you had any tips on how to incorporate "complex characters" into a campaign. I feel like I'd just get on the DM's/Player's nerves...

First off, thanks for being the first person to ever send me an ask on here, lol. And you have no idea how happy I am to hear that I inspire you in any way, let alone to make your own characters and go above and beyond the call of duty with them. Apologies in advance for the massive response. I can be an extremely long-winded person when it comes to things I’m passionate about.

Anyway, all the characters I’ve made for D&D have been for player roles…never been a DM myself (but maybe some day). Unfortunately, your fears about getting on the DM’s / other player’s nerves by playing weird, complicated characters aren’t exactly unfounded. The DMs I’ve played with could talk your ear off with stories about the difficulties they’ve had dealing with my shenanigans. But despite all the trouble I cause, the DMs and players I’ve played with still really enjoy playing with me and love my characters (or at least that’s what they tell me). Here’s what I’ve learned from my experiences as far as your concerns of being able to flex your creative muscles and still get along with the other people who have to put up with you. These rules apply to any situation, but they go double for playing weird characters.

Rule #1: COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR FELLOW PLAYERS AND ESPECIALLY WITH YOUR DM.

This is probably the most important rule. It’s essential that you learn what the people you’re playing with are and are not ok with and to make sure you’re all on the same page. Because playing a nonstandard character not only puts added challenge on yourself, but on everyone else that has to play around you as well. So make sure your fellow players and especially the DM know exactly what they’re in for with your character and that they’re completely ok with it before committing to anything. And be willing to make concessions for them as well if they’re not comfortable with anything. Sometimes people will be apprehensive to go along with something they’re not used to, especially if they don’t have much reason to trust you won’t screw it up or do it for the wrong reasons. And there are things you can do to help ease those fears, but don’t push too hard, especially on your first time with a group.

The first proper campaign I was ever in, my DM wanted to limit it to only human characters for the first go around because most of us were inexperienced and he didn’t want to take any chances. But I wasn’t really too interested in the setting and felt I needed something to anchor my interest. I was really interested in homebrewing (still am) and had a slime character (Chu) who I designed for another non-D&D project but unfortunately got left on the cutting room floor, so I wanted to give her a chance to shine in this new setting. I don’t necessarily recommend anyone going this ham on their first campaign, but I’d been writing and designing characters for years before I picked up D&D, so I felt pretty confident that I could pull it off.

I knew homebrewing a completely custom race on my first campaign was definitely going to raise a lot of red flags, so I wanted to make things as easy as possible for the DM and help him feel comfortable that I knew what I was doing before asking him to trust me. I first asked what the setting was and made sure this character would actually fit naturally without compromising what the DM had already set up. Then I thoroughly studied the guidebook for the system and setting we were playing in and wrote up an entire guide going through every aspect of how this character would function both in terms of mechanics and lore (which years later turned into my Slime Guide that I’ve posted here). Then I pitched it to the DM to see if he’d even be ok with the idea, then sat down with him to go over my guidebook together and figure out what needed to be changed or rebalanced. When that was all approved, I talked to the other players and told them what I had in mind and asked if they were all cool with it, which they were. So we went ahead with it and we all had a blast with that campaign (literally…a lot of stuff blew up, my poor slime girl was traumatized).

You don’t necessarily have to go to such extreme lengths yourself, but just communicate with the others, make sure they’re ok with what you want to do before you do it, and be willing to make concessions and work with them to make sure everyone’s happy, because D&D is a collaborative effort and it’s not very fun for anyone if some people aren’t having a good time.

Rule #2: Try to put as much of the strain of dealing with your character on yourself and not on other people as possible.

Coordinate with the DM and the other players to figure out what their general plans are. Make sure you’ve got a character that will logically fit in with the party and the world they’ll be adventuring in, and will at least mostly get along with their fellow party members. Nobody wants to have to play babysitter and hold up the adventure or force their characters or world to behave in a way that’s unnatural or metagame-y to try to come up with some reason for the one character who doesn’t gel with anyone or make sense as a member of the party to not just follow the logical path and split from the party. Don’t be afraid to let your characters fight and have disagreements with other player characters here and there, but your characters should always have something that makes them fit into the party naturally and binds them with their fellow adventurers enough to overcome almost any fight or disagreement. Hell, I’ve had multiple situations where my character had a falling out with the party and almost left. But I always have at least one thread that will bring my character back on their own in case the rest of the party doesn’t naturally bring my character back themselves. Never put the onus on the DM or other players to keep your character in the party unless you’re prepared to lose that character.

Similarly, you don’t wanna play a character that’s just not going to fit in with the setting and will ruin the immersion for everyone. If you want to play a cyborg in a medieval fantasy setting, you need to have a good reason for it that everyone else is completely on board with. If your party is on a grand quest to help the local dwarf community raise money to build an orphanage, it’s probably not a good idea to play a character who despises dwarves and/or children. And if you want to play as a monster character in a setting where the average person is hostile towards monsters, your fellow players had better be playing some pretty chill dudes, and your character had better have some way to pass the time they’ll spend sitting out in the woods while the rest of the party heads into town to get supplies unless you’re real good at disguising your monstrousness or think you can outrun the crowds armed with torches and pitchforks (this actually happened to one of my characters, fun times).

Rule #3: Just follow basic etiquette and have fun.

It’s alright to make mistakes and accidentally step on someone’s toes every now and then. It happens to the best of us. Just establish at the outset that you first and foremost just want to have a good time with everyone and get along. Clearly establish your own boundaries from the start and respect other people’s. Make it clear that you’re willing to listen to complaints and concerns and work with people to resolve them before they get out of control, and absolutely make sure you behave in a way that people will be comfortable with bringing this stuff up to you and talking about it without fear of hurting your feelings or causing a negative reaction.

Basically, as long as you consider the feelings of your fellow players and DMs, do a good job of communicating, and make sure everyone is on the same page as far as boundaries and what they want out of the experience, you’re gonna be solid. Because even if you do screw something up, everyone should understand that it was just an honest mistake and know that you’ll learn from that mistake and fix it for next time.

It’s all about building trust (giving and receiving). Because people who trust that you know what you’re doing and have the best intentions in mind are gonna be a lot more willing to let you try out your crazy ideas and play along with them. I almost exclusively play weird, nonstandard characters and early on, every character I pitched was met with an exasperated “Oh my god, why do you do this to me?” from my main DM. But I consistently followed these rules, proved that I know how to make and play fun characters that have a positive impact on the campaigns they’re in, and built up that trust with my group. And now everyone has a blast playing with me and interacting with my characters. I’ve even inspired some of my friends to flex their creativity and delve into the weirder side of character creation.

Rules (for mobile users)

Do not interact with me until You have first read the rules. Once you have you can send me a secret word to show that you have. Some of these rules are common sense IMO but i’d like to have them respected all the same.

18+ ONLY This blog will contain several NSFW themes such as Gore, Violence but most importantly sexual themes, which legally… Minors aren’t supposed to be able to interact with. I don’t care how familiar you are with sex, I don’t care how much you know about it or how much porn you may have seen or whatever. Explore this with your own age group or somewhere safe and away from me. I am over 20 years old and I will not be held responsible for exposing minors to sexual content. That being said- I will still tag my NSFW post appropriately. If I find out a follower is under 18 and is following me anyway- I WILL BLOCK.

God Modding Is a NO NO If you don’t know what God modding is- it’s basically just when you take control of my character without my permission. Like if they’re fighting and you immediately decided my character is knocked out, or if they just stand there and let you punch them. If this was not discussed with me then this is godmodding. If it is planned than I might not mind, but I’d appreciate it if you let me control my own characters. If your character starts walking it’s generally safe to say mine will follow.

Meta-Gaming is also a Big NO NO If you’re not sure what meta gaming is, it’s basically when you take things you know about the character out of character and suddenly decide “well because I know this my character does too.” Nope. Unless I tell you they know or my character reveals it to yours in a thread, they don’t know shit. If you wanna get an Idea of what our characters know about each other you can DM me and we can figure it out, but if they’re only just meeting for the first time, neither of them will know anything at all about each other.

Fight Me I have a specific way to do fight sequences. Unless we’ve discussed plans specifically for this, the best way for me to handle it is good old table top rpg way. Basically We roll to hit.. my default is 12 or higher on a d20. the higher above the 12 you roll the harder you hit. This helps me keep it fair. if you can’t roll because you don’t have dice that’s okay, I can roll to see if I dodge too. If you have another way you like to do fights because you’re unfamiliar with this method then talk to me about it so we can make sure to keep things fun and fair :)

Please Interact! I feel like this goes without saying but it was an issue on my former blogs and it’s pretty discouraging when someone follows me, and then never sends me anything, or if we follow each other and I am the only sending anything. I have some pretty bad anxiety and when I am the only one sending in starters and prompts I start to feel like the other person isn’t interested in interacting with me anymore. If you don’t like my characters or my writing isn’t for you that’s fine. You don’t have to tell me either, but if you lose interest in interaction, at least unfollow me? at least this way I know and no one has to feel bad.

If You Reblog Memes from me at least send one in? I am not a meme blog, every once in a while is fine but it does get a bit annoying when it constantly happens. don’t be shy to send me memes, worst case scenario i don’t have muse to answer it right away.

If you send in a meme or a starter but you’re interested in a certain (Sun) character, then please specify that character. If not specified I will chose which one answers.

Besides the obvious fact I won't rp smut or ship with minor muns/muses whatsoever, do not follow me if you're underage. This because I feel uncomfortable interacting with minor muns due to the huge age gap that might be between us. (Mun is currently 25 as I write this) Please, don't take it too personally, it's just for my own comfort. Any kind of hate toward a nationality/gender/sexual orientation and so on will result in a report and permablock. I believe everyone should respect a person, regardless of their gender/ethnicity/sexual orientation. If you don’t, you’ll get permablocked. Period. The same goes for every kind of insult or anon hate toward me, a ship or a friend: not only you’ll be ignored, but, if it is necessary, I’ll report and permablock you.

This blog is against any kind of fake/unfounded rumors and drama. I'll only reblog callouts that provide evidence about the problematic individual, and mostly about extremely serious topics (like minor hunters, abusers or if someone who is seriously in danger) I'm not afraid to callout people if they have a problematic/gross behavior or if they support/justify problematic/disturbing/traumatic topics.

I won’t rp and tolerate extremely disturbing topics like incest, rape (non-con/dub-con as well), pedophilia, child/animal abuse, and similar. Even if I’m more than aware of the fact an 18+ mun is legally an adult, I realized I feel more comfortable shipping with both muns/muses who are 20+, especially in the case there will be some nsfw. That’s my personal preference, and this is NOT negotiable and it will NEVER be.[added 06/05/2019]

virus. [motive 4]

It had been a foolish thought to think that anyone would be getting any rest- let alone, a chance to just relax and enjoy what was supposed to be their vacation for once. After the events that had taken place prior, everyone had either decided to try their best to forget about it by spending time in the fair that Monokuma had set up for them - or had decided to completely ignore it and do their own thing.

Either way, at the early hours of 6 AM, the sound of the speakers almost..struggling to turn on was something that stirred the remaining guests awake. If it wasn’t that, then, well, it was the sound of a loud screech emitting through the speakers that surely caused everyone to shoot up in place, startled over the sudden noise.

“---IS TH----ON????” The garbled noise confuses everyone. Weren’t the speakers working fine just a few weeks ago? Why are they suddenly acting the way they were…?

A few more garbled noises fills the rooms, followed by the sounds of tapping by presumably Monokuma on the microphone, before his voice came on the speakers, causing just about everyone to groan in annoyance.

“FINALLY! Don’t know what’s going on with this stupid thing. Anyways, I’ve got something reaaaal fun for you bastards! Come to the dining hall pronto, if all of you aren’t there within ten minutes you’ll be in biiiiig trouble!”

As if to rub salt into the wound, a rather aggravating noise plays on the speakers, and seem to get faster and louder as each minute passes. Although everyone would prefer to sleep in and pretend that Monokuma hadn’t interrupted their rest, everyone would find themselves dragging their bodies out of bed, making their way over to the dining hall.

The first to arrive to the dining hall were Celica, Clive, Akihiko, Justin, and surprisingly, Tohru. Seeing the boy who had refused to come out of his room for the past few weeks of being on this vacation be the first to arrive felt like such a shock to those who had arrived before him, but they chose not to say anything about it.

Uta, Bendy, Totoko, and Peacock were the next to arrive. Although they didn’t say anything to each other, it was notable that Bendy and Peacock had been by each other’s side. Again, nobody thought to question it.

The final two to arrive were Suki and Lear. Neither of them clearly wanted to be there - perhaps it was the sound of what felt to be a never-ending ticking that lured them out of their rooms and to the dining room, like they were instructed to do?

With everyone gathered around the dining room, Monokuma soon makes his appearance. Standing in front of the crowd, he stands on top of a table with a cloth that appears to be hiding something. It doesn’t take everyone long to figure out that Monokuma had set up yet another motive for them, something that would make them want to murder. Couldn’t this bear just give them a break...?

“GOOD MORNING, YOU BASTARDS!” Monokuma’s voice is loud, echoing throughout the halls.

“Get it over with.” Lear snarls at Monokuma, clearly not in a mood to be dealing with Monokuma’s loud voice. “We all know what yer callin’ us out here, for. You’ve got another motive for us. Fun. Just say what it is so yer not wastin’ our time.”

Totoko frowns upon hearing Lear’s reaction. She reaches a hand out to place on his shoulder, but pulls her hand back as Lear shoots her a glare.

“Aww... not even giving me a chance to announce it myself...” Monokuma sulks as he hears Lear’s outburst. However, he wastes no time wiping the frown off his face as he gestures towards the items in front of him - covered up by a cloth.

“But, fine! You wanna know the new motive that badly!? Well, here you go!” Without waiting for a proper response from the guests, Monokuma reaches down and rips the cover off, revealing eleven wine glasses - all filled with a different colored liquids.

“...What is this...supposed to be?” Celica questions, stepping closer towards the glasses laid out on the table. Following her lead, everyone else steps closer to the glasses. It’s not until Bendy reaches out and grabs the silver tinted liquid, does everyone else reach out and grab their own glass.

“It’d ruin the fun if I told you. Why dont’cha take a drink? You all look so thirsty anyways.” Monokuma chuckles.

“...A-A-And if we don’t?” Suki’s voice is quiet, but loud enough for everyone to hear. Monokuma shoots a glare straight at her.

“If you don’t then you’ll be punished for it. You don’t want to be punished for not listening to your headmaster, now, do you?”

Suki tenses up at the warning, and without much hesitation, she downs the drink in her glass. Following suit, everyone else takes a drink out of their glass - though, not to the extent Suki had. As everyone takes drinks from their glass, Monokuma’s chuckling seems to get louder and louder, until he speaks up again.

“Well? How was it? I worked hard on it!”

“...It’s fine, I s’ppose, but...’s this ‘pposed to be our motive? Takin’ a drink of somethin’ unknown? Kind’ve a lame motive, Monokuma.” Bendy chuckles to himself, placing his glass down on the table. It’s not until after he mentions this, does everyone start to feel something...strange building up inside of them. Monokuma’s laughs get louder and louder as he realizes that what he has planned was beginning to go into effect, and he jumps up to a higher ground so that nobody could get a hand of them once he reveals exactly what’s happening to them.

“C’mon, Bendy. Y’didn’t actually think that I was just gonna make you drink some mysterious drink without it doing anything, did you!? What you just drank is a poison that’ll make you switch a certain trait with the name on the bottom of your glass.” Upon hearing this, everyone lifts up their glass - finding a name written on the bottom of it. “...Meaning, you’ll get their’s, and they’ll get yours. Fun, isn’t it!?” Monokuma laughs.

“You’ll turn back to normal only after someone kills. So unless you wanna be sittin’ around doin’ things you normally wouldn’t for the rest of yer life, I better see some bloodshed!”

...And just like that, before anyone even gets the chance to say anything to the bear, Monokuma disappears, leaving everyone in the dining hall with their glasses.

THIS WAS GOING TO BE ONE HELL OF A WEEK...WASN’T IT?

Hello, and welcome to the fourth motive of Despairing Vacation: Everybody switches traits with someone else.

You may offer your character up as the chosen culprit of this chapter if you feel this motive fits your character. You may also offer your character up as the victim, if you’d like to. But be warned - if more than one person offers their character for either role, then there’s a chance you may not get it, as the RNG pull will be between those offered.

If nobody offers then RNG pull will be between the characters still alive.

If you’re chosen as the victim or culprit in this case and you don’t want to do it - if you have yet to use your skip, you may use it!

Time limit to let me know if you want to offer up your character will be between 5:30-6:00 PM PST. Make sure you keep an eye on the clock on the blog to let me know!

You can continue your past threads before the motive reveal, however, new threads post motive reveal will have to include your character’s switched trait. You can only do threads pre-motive if given permission.

If you’re in deadchat, you may not tell anyone what is going on. Be the snakes you are.

THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT THE MOTIVE:

Monokuma didn’t reveal exactly which trait is being switched out. The trait being switched out is your character’s worst trait at the moment. Because Monokuma didn’t reveal which trait is being switched out, this means your character will not know that their worst trait is switched with someone else’s. All they know is Monokuma did some fuckshit and now they have a slight change in either personality, or mannerisms.

Your character will not know who has their trait. They will only know who’s trait they’re getting.

It’s up to you if the trait you’re giving to someone else is a long time trait, or a newer trait that developed due to your character’s development in DV.

The longer a murder doesn’t happen, the more your character starts to lose sense of who they are due to their trait being erased from them and forced onto someone else. This could either be because they feel lost, or because they know they’re acting out in strange ways because of their “new” trait. It’s up to you.

With this motive going up, please make sure you DM me your character’s worst trait so I can go ahead and tell everyone what trait they’re getting. It’s up to you on how you want to interpret it, should you be given a trait that doesn’t effect a character’s personality.

Worldbuilding: Science and Cultural thoughts for D&D/Pathfinder worlds

My friend made this huuuge facebook thread just dumping all their thoughts about how worlds like this might work, and when I said she should share it on tumblr she gave me permission to do it for her.

Note: Do not try to argue with me about this stuff because I don’t know shit about shit, I’m just copy/pasting.

So giant spiders shouldn't be able to climb on walls or ceilings? That feature only works because small spiders weigh so little. But what if giant spiders constantly used their web for wall and ceiling climbs, like their legs would occasionally touch their buts to reweb them to make them sticky. So spiders with web boots. But also spiders who are super clean because dust makes walls impossible to stick to so they are always cleaning, and a good tell that there are giant spiders in any given cave or dungeon is that it has no dust or grime anywhere?

Also let's talk about ecosystems. Specifically Giant turtle ecosystems. So there's turtles, then the largest natural animal turtles, but then DnD has GIANT turtles, and then dragon turtles, and then Turtle Islands. So what in a Turtle Island (island on the back of it's turtle) Was a natural predator against Leviathans and other giant sea monsters (as it's just about the biggest thing in the ocean) And because of that Dragon turtles would live near it (cause turtles in DnD might not eat other turtles.) And the dragon turtles would eat the sharks and killer whales, which would make the rest of the island safer from normal turtles. So the party could come to this island just INFESTED with turtles, and it would make a fun campaign setting.

Fun fact. In any world where dragons exist, the planet would have to be closer to a larger sun, and have a stronger magnetic field, and far less greenhouse gasses. Proof: For dragons of size to exist in any reasonable population, they would need to eat by the ton. We're talking (conservatively) a rhinoceros worth of food per day. But it could be elephants, Giraffes, etc. So for a population of dragons of size to exist, you would need a LOT more graze animals. Which means you'd need a LOT more grass, possibly grass that grows 5x faster than normal grass. To do that, the grass would need more solar energy. Which would mean a bigger/closer sun, but then the world would be too hot to sustain water, unless it had a stronger magetic field and less greenhouse gasses. So for future reference DM's. The sun is HUGE in the sky. Note a large sun would mean longer days (slightly) and therefore shorter nights (slightly) It would also mean Aurora Borealis and Aurora Southernalis would extend to pretty much everywhere but the equator. So pretty night skys for your DnD worlds.

Elves would have the best Alzheimer's medicine and the most cures for cancer and autoimmune disorders. Elves live a really long time, and the longer one lives the greater one's chances of developing these diseases.

The bronze age of most civilizations would never truly end. In any world where oozes and rust monsters exist, stone and bronze weapons would be seen as a stylistic choice especially for different job types.

In desert civilizations, it is entirely likely that the barter system would rely on clever poetry. In any history where a sphinx is even a possibility, entire civilizations would essentially create riddle and poetry games to teach the younger generations how to survive such creatures. This would eventually effect the barter system, and charisma roles would be based equally upon intelligence and one's ability to discern the riddles given in everyday speech.

It would likely be a major festival event, or an event at children's birthday parties, to set treasure chests on fire. And would be considered a sign of good luck if no one got hurt while the chest was burning. This would start as a habit for combating mimics, but eventually likely develop into cultural rituals that would encompass more people than could ever remotely run into mimics. (I argued against setting them on fire and suggested an archery contest to shoot them instead. Don’t wanna burn up my loot!)

So we all know in real life some holidays start as some pretty dark rituals. It's entirely possible where some cities or cultures that don't have a lot of mages have holidays where they throw copper pieces at one another, especially at people they like. (In a playful way). This is because in cultures that ever had an inquisition in their history would likely have used the throwing money at mages to reveal things like shield spells and stoneskin spells. "revealing a mage trying to hide among people, as most of the best defensive mage spells have some reaction to missile attacks. Even weak ones like throwing copper pieces at it. It would also likely create sayings SUCH AS: "Not every problem is a Mage, you can't just throw money at it to make it go away."

It's entirely probable that it would be considered good luck to pour out honey or jam from a jar when you purchase it or get it as a gift. Historically, in any world where oozes live, it's not only likely, but probable that some king or noble was assassinated by some member of their royal court putting a small glop of an ooze or slime into a glass jar and giving it as a gift. Then the person being assassinated would get eaten from the inside out by said ooze or slime.

It's likely that many cultures would prohibit any "halloween" esque holidays where humans dress up in costume. As it would be too easy for actual monsters to do harm to its citizens under the guise of pretending to wear a costume.

It would likely be good form to pay for any kind of wild game in silver, instead of gold (if it's worth enough to cost that.) This would start as a means of checking for lycanthropes, from both parties (even if silver itself doesn't actually hurt lycanthropes unless it's weaponized.) As in most cultures, no one would want to feed a lycanthrope or give them money to keep living in civilization.

In upscale parties, especially ones hosted by royalty. It is likely that a small blood tithe would be paid by everyone in attendance. This would be an act that would drive younger vampires mad with bloodthirst, and help protect high societies (who are the ones most typically plagued with vampires) from undead infiltration. Also some versions of vampires don't bleed.

Being given a healthy Redwood seed from an elf would be a tremendous gift and a sign of friendship. Redwood and other giant trees would also be more common in any worlds that include elves. As these are the trees most capable to be lived in and on, due to size and strength. And being given a cultivated and healthy redwood seed from an elf would be similar to being given a dowry or the preparation for a house in ones future. Though the value of this gift is technically lost on humans as they don't live long enough to see such a tree grow, to a young elf it would be the equivalency of being given a home for ones future in that country/tribe/nation. And even humans who receive such gifts could use it in tasteful jewelry to prove oneself as elf-friend.

In a world with dragons, scavenger birds would be seen as symbols of peace. Dragons would operate much like large dinosaurs did in our history. And it was common for the predatory dinosaurs to allow scavenger birds to pick food clean from their teeth. This served to feed the bird and protect the dinosaur (or dragon in this case) from disease. So flags with scavenger birds on them would be signs of a nation, army, or individual, coming in peace for mutual benefit. (My addition: Conversely they may just become associated with dragons themselves and invoke the fear of dragons. A large number of them may mean a dragon is near, and they may even come to be considered bad luck. Also a thought: Certain dragons may not have need of them. A red/gold dragon could potentially burn away any un-ingested food bits, or a black/copper dragon's acid breath might get rid of it?) But that can burn precious fire, which only confident dragons would do regularly. (point)

In a world with dragons, roving caravans would not be made of wood. They would quickly learn to use other materials. Furthermore, mirror shields would be a common defense against dragons, especially in sunny regions as an attempt to blind an attacking dragon while one searched for cover would be most people's only defense (besides not being noticed in the first place.)

Whispering someone you know's full name in their ear as a greeting would be very common in a majority of civilizations. This safeguards from all sorts of illusions and shapeshifters. Say "hi" hug or shake hands very closely and whisper their name, to prove you are who you look like and know them the way you do. Anyone who fails to do this would be held in high suspicion. And giving away someone's full name without their consent would be seen as an insulting act of the highest order.

Large ships would likely be painted in special waterproof paint in shades of blue. This would be combative against large ship attacking sea monsters.

Police forces in cities would have dogs specially trained to hunt the smells of things like goblins,hobgoblins, and kobolds. (though for kobolds it would depend on if the local government allowed them to live there or not, some do)

When traveling in large forests. It is customary to paint large sets of eyes on ones armor clothing and shields. Not only do some snakes spit venom at eyes, but large eyes can scare of predators with only animal level intelligence.

As elves do not often have young. The murder of an elf (even relatively unimportant elves) can bring entire nations to war, and if not, it at minimum can incur feuds that outlast entire human bloodlines as brother/sisters and parents of said elf hunt you and your descendants down.

▌Basics

- If I follow you, I’m very interested in your muse, writing, etc. It’s alright if you don’t follow me, I understand I haven’t picked up your interest yet.

-No Godmodding/Autohit/that kind of Bad Jazz. I’ve dealt with it before in those 4 years of RP, and trust me, me having to end a RP wasn’t a pretty result. If you want to do this in a RP, Please go in my IMs/DMs asking if you could do that act of godmodding, and we’ll talk it out seeing if I agree. I have the right to say no if I don’t want to. Crack is the only thing that excludes this rule

-I’m Crossover/AU/OC/Self-Insert Friendly!

- I’m alright with shipping, in fact, I love shipping. Just check the Shipping’s paragraphs,

-There will be mentions of the following on this blog: abuse, violence, mentions of death, PTSD, kidnapping, dark themes (any other triggers that I haven’t listed here will be tagged with either //tw (trigger) and/or TW Trigger

▌RPing!

- You have my comfortable permission to @/tag me anytime you need to.

-The way you RP doesn’t matter on how fancy or how long is is. I’m not picky about it, but my minimum length for RP writing is 1 Paragraph. I usually will try to get the length and paragraph for the other to feel comfortable, but you can tell me anytime that you don’t mind it. One-liners are okay, I just lose interest a bit quickly.

-If you wanna drop a thread with me, that’s ok to ask. Keep in mind I could possibly want to drop a thead, so please be calm with it. I don’t wanna start anything with you.

-I will tag warnings with things that people aren’t comfortable with. I tag it as “TW [Insert Offensive item here].” If I’m not sure if someone could be triggered by a particular thing, I’ll tag “ask to tag [offensive item here],”just so someone can ask me to tag it.

- Smut is absolutely not allowed. Majority of the muses are minors and despite there being a couple of adults, mun will NOT under any circumstances will RP this. I’d automatically block you for this rule is the strictest rule.

-Violence and blood is alright in my book. (Talk to me about it first) Not allowing gore on the minors or even any adult.

▌*Ships

-I’m multi-ship, so yes I will accept ships

-Don’t force a ship. That’s not right man

-If you wanna ship, we gotta talk it out before we ship the muses. I later on might throw ship threads later on at you, which meaning I’m ok with the ship.

-I prefer chemistry, in which we slowly could see how a relationship could go. Slow burn is fine as well

- Even if the muse or some of my muses aren’t capable of love, or heck, doesn’t have a crush, that’s fine

-If the muse is over/under the age of 3 years of the muse who you wish to ship with, I won’t ship them.

*I’m very shy about this, and I’m trying to open up again, and maybe in IMs or DMs, I’m a nerd for ships

▌Icons

-I won’t be using icons due to me working on all of them, so don’t expect a icon unless I used it from the old blog. These are drawn from me and I will go in your case if you attempt to steal ‘em.

▌Chex’s Notes

Hey hey hey, you’ve made it through my rules. Thanks for reading them, and make sure to come back anytime on the rules so you don’t forget if you’re a forgetful person. There really isn’t a password for this, so I can tell if someone is breaking a rule and remind them. Although just saying the casual “read your rules” is fine by me. I give people up to 4 chances for these rules, and breaking them 4 times will result in a unfollow and block.
