Three Idiots And A Baby
In which three idiots try to take care of a child that the responsible one just found. Small snippets going through life from when the baby was found.
Tumblr media
He almost never came home early. With something bundled in his arms and a worried expression on his face as he pressed his back against the door to their apartment. A sigh fell from his lips as he tried to set down the bag he had taken to work. The bundle in his arms wiggled and all movement ceased, staring down at it as if he’d done something wrong. Uno came out of the bathroom halfway through his morning routine to see one of his boyfriends in the living room. Frozen like a deer in headlights.
“What’cha got there?” He gestured with his toothbrush, curlers still in his hair.
“Is it donuts?” The multi-colored haired man popped up next to him.
“It’s not donuts, donuts don’t move.” Uno deadpanned.
“Then what is it?” Murakami moved to take what was bundled in Seijirou’s arms, instinctively he jerked away threatening to bite his other boyfriend.
A baby cry got all three of them to go silent. Lifting the jacket he’d haphazardly swaddled the baby in he didn’t exactly know what the baby wanted. When it came to children Seijirou knew the basics were food and diaper changes. Maybe it needed food?
“We don’t have baby stuff, do we?”
“We didn’t really think we’d have kids anytime soon.” Murakami shrugged, scratching the back of his head. “I could run to the store, do you know what baby’s need?”
“Bottles, formula– I’ll just make a list.” Uno walked back into the bathroom.
The faucet ran for a moment then the blonde was walking back out. Grabbing a pen from the cup on the coffee table and using a forgotten piece of scrap paper he wrote down what he could think of. It was an extensive list. Murakami could feel his wallet yelling at him already.
Seijirou may have been the one that found the baby but he had no idea what to do. He was an only child, his parents never worked with kids. Sitting on the couch racking his brain for something to do while Murakami was at the closest store getting baby supplies. The baby was still unfortunately crying. Uno, curlers still in his hair, sat down on the couch next to him.
“People used to say I had the magic touch with babies and kids. Can I?”
Seijirou stared at him for a few minutes. It felt like he was giving away a part of himself, even if the baby was just being handed to someone. He felt protective and defensive but he really had no idea what to do. Hesitantly he handed the baby over to Uno, every part of his body screamed at him to stop. “When you hold babies, you have to support their heads mainly.” Uno spoke softly, adjusting how he was holding the baby. “Their heads are super soft, and it’s really easy for them to form flat. Babies' necks also can’t support their own heads.”
“How do you know all this?”
“My younger brother, I grew up learning all this stuff so I remember it pretty easily.”
The baby had stopped crying almost magically. Wide pink eyes looking around, it wasn’t able to comprehend their surroundings just yet. Uno and Seijirou’s hearts melted. Who would want to get rid of a baby? Why would someone want to get rid of a baby?
When Murakami came home with plastic bags rustling and making so much noise the two were scared shitless. Seijirou picked up the television remote ready to throw it at the bright-haired man. He would have smashed another tv remote.
“Uno… You owe me.” Murakami breathed heavily, like he ran up three flights of stairs.
“Seijirou, you go help him with the formula. I got the baby.” Uno nodded over to the kitchen.
Hesitantly Seijirou got up to help Murakami. He cleaned the bottles while Murakami read the directions. After a couple minutes of figuring it out the baby was finally fed, no longer fussy. The three of them sat in the living room, Murakami sitting on the floor staring at the baby silently.
“I think we should name them Kazuhiko.”
“That’s an interesting name.” Uno murmured.
“The nickname can be Kazu, do you like Kazu?” Murakami leaned forward, the baby cooing at his outstretched finger. Wrapping their tiny fingers around it.
-First Grade-
“Kazu, you’ll love the new blouse I got you! Please stop running away!” Murakami was chasing down the toddler who was running away from him.
Seijirou watched this unfold from the kitchen as he was making breakfast. Kazuhiko was a calm, quiet baby that turned into a lively, rowdy child. Clingy too but it was all the more endearing. He laughed watching Murakami run right into the couch. Kazuhiko noticed Seijirou and ran over to him.
“No school! I don’t wanna go! Can I stay here with you? Please?” Bright pink pleading eyes looking up at one of her dads with a pout.
“I’m sorry kiddo, but you have to go. It’s the first day of first grade. You get to meet new people, make friends and have fun. Much more fun than staying in the apartment, yeah?”
She knew her dad was right. Crossing her arms over her chest she huffed. Stomping her foot on the ground. Kazuhiko didn’t want to go to school for a simple reason, she did not want to be away from her dads. They were fun to be around, they meant everything to her. She didn’t want to be away from them for that long!
“There you are!” Murakami scooped her up into his arms. “Look! It’s decorated with pretty colored flowers!”
“Pretty!” Her eyes lit up seeing the blouse, taking it from his hands she giggled and grinned from ear to ear.
“Breakfast is almost ready, could you get her ready for school?” Seijirou turned off the stove, setting the food aside to cool.
“On it!”
“I wanna stay home!” She tried to wiggle out of Murakami’s hold.
“After school we could go get ice cream.” Uno chimed in, again with the curlers in his hair. It was an everyday thing with him, honestly.
“Yay! Ice cream!”
“Uno, you can’t keep bribing her.” Seijirou sighed.
“I know, I know. I just don’t want her to be sad going to school.”
“Eventually it’s gonna be concerning how attached she is.”
“Gentleman, I present to you Miss Kazuhiko wearing something fashioned by your local Murakami!” The brightly colored man announced, directing Uno and Sebun’s attention to their daughter wearing the brightly colored blouse, pants and purple sneakers.
“Doesn’t she look rockin’?”
“Awe! My little baby looks adorable! Let me get the camera!” Seijirou rummaged through the counter drawers looking for it.
-High school-
“Papa! Do you know where my backpack is?! I don’t wanna be late for the first day!” Kazuhiko hollered across the house, they had moved since she was a baby into something more fitting for four people. Murakami groaned sleepily on the couch, burying his face under a throw pillow.
“I made sure the canvas was weather resistant before you took it to school! Can’t have those papers and notebooks soaked in water.” Uno brought it over to her, he always seemed to come out of the bathroom in the morning. Even if it didn’t look like he was in there. He was just like a cryptid.
“Thanks, have you seen pops? I know dad is sleeping on the couch again.”
“Check outside in the garden, sometimes he’s just out there.”
“Okay!”
She shared no hair color or eye color with them but she was as feisty and outgoing as her three dads were. Peeking out onto the back porch she saw the lilac-haired man sitting under the oak tree that was planted when they first moved. Opening the sliding door she tried to be quiet but he already noticed her, turning around he chuckled. Suppressing a cough.
“Hey pops, I’m going to high school soon. I didn’t want to leave without telling you first. Are you okay?” She sat on the bench next to him, bag sitting on the ground by her feet.
“I’m okay, you don’t have to worry.”
“I’m always gonna worry about you, you’re one of my dads.” She nudged him.
“Kazu…”
“You have the doctors next week, so that’s good!! What do you think of my uniform? Pretty snazzy right?” She stood up and spun for him, giggling.
“You’re going to knock ‘em dead kid.”
“Figuratively, right?”
“Yes, figuratively.”
“Do you wish you went to high school?” She asked.
“Yeah, but I was new to the country. I didn’t know much and neither did my parents,” He shrugged. “But you get to go. Have all the fun you can, and make all the friends you can.”
“I won’t disappoint you on the frontier!”
“Your dad’s taking you to school, right? I know he’s a morning napper.”
“Yeah! I woke him up when I was looking for my bag.”
“Oh, tell him we ran out of milk and he’ll need to grab some. Animal crackers too.”
“Who are the animal crackers for?”
“...Me…”
“Okay!”
Kazuhiko engulfed him in a tight hug that he returned, it seemed like just yesterday she didn’t want to go to first grade because it meant she would have to spend time away from Uno, Murakami and himself.
“Goodluck, kiddo.”
“Thanks pops!”
-First Heartbreak-
Kazuhiko normally announced herself when she came home. Face hidden by her hair she slipped off her shoes silently, setting her bag down by the couch she closed the door to her room once she got there. Locking it. Unable to hold back her tears she sniffled and fell onto her bed. Sobs racked her body as she cried into the comforter Uno just bought her because the old one got destroyed in the washer. She thought the girl she had a crush on felt the same way, always sending her messages and smiling, spending time with only her. Low and behold she just wanted to be friends after she stole her first kiss. Curling in on herself she didn’t care if her school uniform got damaged or stained with her tears.
Uno passed by her closed door, the blonde could hear her crying faintly. Pressing his ear to the door he had a hunch that she was full on sobbing in her room, and that her door was locked. That wasn’t a hunch though, he knocked on the door then tried to the doorknob.
“Kazu, buddy is everything okay?”
A beat passed and the door opened a crack, she didn’t look him in the eyes. Stared at the floor. She didn’t say anything, without a word she hugged him instead, sobbing into his chest.
“Does this have anything to do with that Haruhi girl?”
She nodded against his chest.
“Why does this hurt so much? Why did I love her so much?”
“Kiddo, you had a crush on her.”
“Yeah, but I shouldn’t have!” She pulled away from him, walking into her room. Now pacing. “All those things I thought she did to show she liked me was just her being friendly, but then she kissed me and I don’t get it!”
“She what-” Uno stepped into her room.
“She kissed me! Before we left to go home! Then when I told her I liked her she laughed at me!”
“Excuse my language, but she sounds like such a bitch.”
“I know, right? You don’t kiss someone if you don’t like them!” Falling back on her bed she covered her face with her hands, screaming into them.
“I know it hurts and you feel betrayed, but you know she’s not nice.”
“I didn’t want to find out this way!”
“It’s a bad way to find out…” Uno sighed. “Wanna go for ice cream? You can play your music in the car and scream at it.”
“Pops said you used to bribe me to go to school with ice cream when I was younger?”
“Yeah, so what? We got to spend time together.”
“True. Okay, I’ll go get ice cream.”
“Still like coffee ice cream?” Uno asked.
“Is that even a question?” Kazuhiko laughed.
-First Date-
The girl sat awkwardly in the living room with Uno and Murakami staring her down. She wasn’t uncomfortable because Kazuhiko had three dads but because they made her feel unwanted. She felt scrutinized by the blonde most of all. Seijirou was in the hall waiting by Kazuhiko’s door. His mother had given him something he wanted to give her and now seemed like the perfect moment.
“So… Hideo… Where are you planning to go with our daughter?” Murakami was the first to ask, leaning forward to intimidate the high school aged girl.
“The… Erm… Ice rink.”
“What happens if she gets hurt?” Uno rose a brow.
“I’ll make sure she’s okay, and if she needs medical attention I’ll get the attention of the first aid at the ice rink.” Hideo was fidgeting with her hands.
“What if she’s hungry?”
“Uhh…”
“You can stop interrogating the poor girl, you two. I think it’s wonderful we even get to meet the girl our daughter is going out on a date with.” Seijirou chuckled, he was playing with his mothers necklace.
“Can’t we instill a little fear at least?” Uno asked.
“Really?” Seijirou rolled his eyes.
“We just don’t want her to get hurt.” Murakami justified.
“I promise, I’m not going to hurt Kazuhiko. You have my word.” Hideo held a hand over her heart.
“You heard her, we have her word. If she does hurt Kazu then you can’t stop me.” The two said to Seijirou in unison. Shaking his head he sighed. It was a wonder Kazuhiko even dated anyone with these two. They were the protective dads. Well, Seijirou was too, but not like this.
“I think I finally found my jacket– What did you two do?” Kazuhiko pointed at Murakami and Uno, eyes narrowed.
“Nothing, nothing!” Uno chuckled, leaning back in his chair.
“Oh, before you go I have something for you.” Seijirou’s hands were shaking. They always shake now. “My mother gave it to me when she died, I want to give it to you.” He held it out to her.
“A necklace? Pops, you don’t– “
“I wanted to pass it on.”
“Could you put it on?” She asked.
“Of course,”
Kazuhiko pulled her hair out of the way and Seijirou put the necklace on her, the clasps were always difficult now that his hands shake constantly. He managed to get it done quickly so that his daughter and her date weren’t waiting there forever.
“Have fun, and remember don’t stay out too long.” He whispered to her, eyeing Murakami and Uno.
“I won’t. Don’t be bored while I’m gone.”

Coat - SebUno
Summary: One small kind gestures earns Sebun a mythological spouse. This spouse is persistent to get married by human customs and is quite a bit territorial.
Tumblr media
"Don't just walk over it." Sebun sighed as Vera stepped on the coat that Rock hadn't seemed to point out was on the ground.
"You should have told me, now someone's nice coat is ruined!" She slapped her fiancé on the arm.
"I'm so sorry about that." Sebun chuckled, wiping away the dust and dirt from the velvety soft grey coat. "Here." He carefully draped it back over the vacant chair.
A blonde with pink streaks in his hair and sterling blue eyes stared at Sebun, mouth slightly agape. He was remarkably attractive but there was no time to stop and chat as the purple-haired man followed his friends out of the restaurant.
Clearing his throat he folded his napkin. Flagging the waiter down he procured money from within the vest of his suit.
"That'll be all, thank you for your service."
"Sir, there's a hundred dollars here." The waiter spoke anxiously.
"Keep it." The blonde smiled.
Grabbing his velvet soft coat and draping it over his shoulders he headed out of the restaurant. He walked as if it were normal to just leave in the middle of having dinner.
"I wonder if a jewelry shop is open this late." He muttered to himself, scanning the store fronts as he walked quickly.
He pushed the door open to the first store he saw that was open, not bothering to look at the sign when he saw the jewelry in the windows. The sparkling jewels and numerous cases of stones were not something he set his sights on. Walking right up to the attendant at the counter he pulled cash from his vest once more, setting it down on the glass counter.
"I need an engagement band, not too many stones. I would like the diamond to be pear cut."
The women behind the counter stared at him, eyes wide as saucers. Maybe the words just died in her throat but no man has ever walked into the shop and knew what he wanted this entire time.
"Well, do you know the ring size?"
"No, but I'm certain I can pay for it to get resized if I need too." The blonde gave off the vibe that he was rich beyond compare, this stunned the attendant behind the counter.
"To start off with a size, I'd say a 6.5 would do."
He was just so nonchalant about buying an engagement ring. He wasn't stressed or anxious, it was as if there was no care in his mind.
"I believe we have a 6.5 similar to what you described, what color is the diamond or band?"
"White for the diamond and silver for the band."
"Oh! I have just the thing."
She disappeared from his site for a moment but he didn't mind, even if it took hours for her to come back he wasn't going to leave without the engagement ring. As soon as she came back he gave her more cash and took the little black box with him, his coat swaying behind him as he left.
Sebun sat at home that night on his bed watching the moon from his open window. He was really happy for Vera, no doubt, but it made him often wonder when his perfect partner was going to arrive. Or if they ever were going to arrive.
Laying down so that his head was hanging off the bed he was illuminated by the light of the moon. Almost always enjoying night time for being the most serene and calm hours. He wished he was a night owl so he could experience being awake when the moon was awake instead of being awake with the sun.
Then that man at the restaurant flashed into his mind.
All he did was return the man's coat but for some reason he couldn't get him out of his head. That blonde was really attractive, and if he believed in love at first sight then he would definitely say he was in love. He wasn't into falling head over heels for the first person he saw, it would be artificial and not at all real.
Sighing upright on his bed he flopped into his spot. He always slept on the right side, and never remembered why he was given a bed fit for two people. The sounds of the night surprisingly lulled him to sleep when he usually stayed awake into the early morning hours.
He was up and bustling around frantically, nearly late for his blind date that Vera had to set him up with. She had good intentions but the last thing he wanted to do was go on a date with someone he didn't know. Rushing out the door of his apartment building pulling his arm through one of the sleeves of his jacket.
"There you are. I've been looking for you everywhere."
He stopped short and turned around to face the man speaking to him. Met with the man from the restaurant he had been dreaming of weirdly enough, he tilted his head and furrowed his brows.
"You were looking for me? Oh- Do you want me to pay the dry cleaning for your... coat?" The coat he had given back to the blonde in the suit was clean. Absolutely clean.
"No, I don't need you to pay for dry cleaning- "
"Is that an engagement ring?" Sebun pointed to the little black box in the blondes hands.
"Yes, by human standards we should be married." The blonde nodded.
"Married?!" Sebun blinked twice, mouth agape. "Look, I just met you last night and barely know you. Plus, I have a date."
"Oh, that's easy! We can get to know each other while married!" The blonde was beaming happily.
"I don't even know your name..."
"It's Uno, I'm also a selkie."
"Excuse me?" Sebun rose a brow.
"A seal that can turn into a human, shedding my coat. The same coat you picked up, so now you're my husband." Uno explained very casually, shrugging it off as if it were nothing.
"What?"
"You can do a lot more research about selkies while you tell your date you wouldn't have to go now." Uno held out the little black box, opening it to show the ring he had gotten last night.
"That... Is really pretty, but I can't just cancel last minute. I'm sorry."
"Then I'll go with you!"
"No, that's not- Dates are normally a one on one thing. Typically you don't just bring someone else."
"But- What if I just stay around? Incase your date isn't worthy."
"Isn't worthy? I mean..." Sebun pinched the bridge of his nose. "Fine."
"Also, I do believe in human customs you're supposed to wear the ring."
Sebun rose a brow and put the engagement ring on, it fit on his ring finger surprisingly. His eyes lit up, it was so strange the ring fit. Watching the way the light hit the pear shaped diamond a smile stretched across his face.
Then his phone buzzed.
"Shit! I'm gonna be late."
"Oh-" Uno tilted his head. "If you're going to be late then you might as well- "
"I can't cancel!"
Out of breath, frazzled, and followed by a selkie his eyes scanned the cafe for who Vera described. She was surprised he was the late one. The blind date was sitting by the window in the corner, he was reading a book. Green hair swept messily into a pony tail and just a tad of scruff on his chin, he did look quite attractive but not as attractive as Uno.
He knew the blonde was watching him as he waved and smiled at the man with the green hair.
"I am so sorry I was late."
"No worries, glad I brought a book actually." He chuckled. "I'm Qi."
"Seijirou, but everyone calls me Sebun." He could feel Uno nodding and watching.
"Interesting nickname. I was told you like flowers, what kind?"
"Moon flowers, I'm usually up with the moon so I get to see how pretty they are."
"I've always liked sunflowers." For a second Qi looked down at his hands, but looked away a moment later.
"So, Vera said you're a florist?"
"Oh, yeah. I have my own florist shop. I live in the basement under it."
"Oh- " Sebun chuckled awkwardly.
"Are you married?" Qi gestured to the ring.
"This- What- No- " Sebun quickly covered the ring up and laughed it off.
Uno casually walked up to the table, a calm expression on his face. He stared Qi down like a hawk.
"There you are, I knew Vera said to meet here."
"Dude, we're kind of on a date." Qi gestured between him and Sebun.
"Are you really?" Uno tilted his head.
"What are you doing?" Sebun whispered, standing up.
"Correcting this gentleman for taking my date."
"Yeah, whatever. Get out of here." Qi waved him away.
"Oh, really?" Uno frowned, crossing his arms over his chest.
"I'll leave then, I guess."
Qi got up and left taking his book with him. Sebun shook his head, looking away from Uno.
"What was that for?"
"He lives in a basement, and those questions weren't going anywhere." The blonde sat down right in Qi's seat.
"You can't determine who is right for me or not."
"Might I remind you, you're mine."

Sense of Smell
In an omegaverse world you can smell only the things your soulmate can smell. For a long time Sebun couldn't smell anything until he ran into someone with long pink and blonde hair.
Tumblr media
Sebun yawned and stretched out across his best friends couch. Arm draped across himself dramatically, one leg draped over the back and the other touching the floor. He'd been trying to find the right spot to get comfortable and now he finally found it.
"What are you doing in my house?" Vera asked, fox ears perking up once she hit the bottom stair to the basement.
"I got tired, got bored, still had the keys." He cracked one eye opening, anticipating where she was going to pop up in his vision.
When something brushed by his big, fluffy fox ears a shiver ran down his spine. He felt cold all over again despite how often she claimed her house was a temperate climate. Of course, and Arctic fox like her needs to be in the cold most of the time.
"Oh my god," She sighed and popped up from behind the couch. "I have a nice bear over, and I would very much prefer you not be here."
"Another Alpha?"
"This one is going to be around longer! He actually likes how cold my house is." She grinned from ear to ear.
"Okay, okay. I'll try not to let him know I was here. Last thing I want is to end up fighting your new Romeo." He got up slowly, lazily. Very much a couch potato. A lanky, bony couch potato.
"His name is Rock."
"Who the fuck confidently tells other people their name is Rock? Like- A literal rock?" He yawned again, blowing hair from his face once he shook his body awake.
"Just go already! You can crash on my couch later, unless you're already home by that time."
"Wait- Can't he smell me because you're down here?"
"I- I don't know!"
"Mannnnn, you really need to find that person who eats so much..."
"You're one to talk, now out!" She was pushing on him, trying to guide him to the basement door.
"But it's raining..."
"Not my fault you didn't bring an umbrella!"
"Ugh, fine."
Sebun left his best friends basement and immediately his ears and tail drooped, it was pouring outside and he looked like he deflated. Shaking off the excess water he puffed out his cheeks and started walking, his phone was already dead from the spam texts and calls to multiple different people because he didn't want to get caught in the rain. Carrying his tail in his hands to alleviate some of the weight.
Accidentally bumping right into someone who had a polka-dotted umbrella and desaturated blonde-pink hair he failed to notice that he could smell things. He always thought the rain smelt bad so he didn't even notice, he didn't bother noticing. It was the least of his worries right now, being caught while it was pouring buckets was sure to make him sick.
Then he realized he was walking the wrong way to his apartment building.
It took him a while to get home, a really long while. Shivering from the cold and feeling heavy even after ringing out his tail the water dripped off of him as he waited impatiently for the elevator. If the weather wasn't absolute dog shit he would take the stairs and be there faster but his bones did not want to move. Sebun was already in immense pain thanks to a flare up that morning but the rain made it even worse, and walking home was the cherry on top.
Out of nowhere he could smell the cleaning chemicals used in the building, and the slightest hint of wet dog. Looking around panicked there was no one there with him in the lobby. Why would he be able to smell things now? That wasn't something to worry about, not catching a cold is his first priority. He shook his head as if he was shaking the question away with the water in his hair. It clung to his face in large sticky strands that weren't quite uncomfortable but at least were foreign feeling.
The wet dog smell got stronger when the elevator alerted him. Jumping out of his skin at the sound after being stuck in his thoughts. Shuffling into the elevator he paid no mind to the other person in there with him, he never paid attention to the people living with him anyway. It wasn't that he wasn't the friendliest but half the time he could just get the vibe no one wanted to talk to him. It was understandable. He was scary, he looked scary on top of being an Alpha, but hey, punk fashion looks awesome.
"It's really pouring now, isn't it?"
The smell of wet dog bothered him more than someone talking surprised him.
"I'd be lucky if I didn't get sick."
"Hey, I know you! You're that scary Alpha that lives down the hall, everyone talks about you!"
"Gee, great to know I'm famous." Sebun deadpanned.
"Sorry, I mostly hear good things about you. My friend Nico actually looks up to you, honestly."
"That little green pup who had a problem with some kids at school?"
"Yeah!"
"And you're friends with him? How old are you?"
"Eighteen."
"...I mean, as long as you're friends with him," Sebun shrugged. "You can call me Sebun."
"Uno."
"Ah, the beta gambler who has his fair share of suitors."
"Hey! I don't bring that many people over."
"Dude, you at least bring over a couple people each day and they leave the next morning do that walk of shame after a bender." Sebun crossed his arms over his chest. "You bring over a lot of people."
"Why do you care?" Uno tilted his head, he looked so innocent and confused.
He'd be interested in flustering him and getting under his skin but he groaned and pinched his nose shut.
"God! Whoever smells like wet dog is going to kill me."
"Oh hoh hoh! I don't think I'm the only one sleeping around," Uno snickered, grinning mischievously. Sniffing the air a couple times to taunt the Alpha. "I don't smell anything, actually."
"I'm going to kill you."
"Wouldn't mind mixing pleasure with pain." Now, Uno really was taunting him.
"Although, I do see your type is mostly tall and scary. I'm not wrong, am I?" Sebun grinned, wiggling his eyebrows.
"What- No! I don't have a type and it is definitely not tall and scary."
"Awe, are you sure?"
He faked a frown, laughing at Uno's bright red face. Once the elevator stopped on their floor he stepped out first. Ears and tails just barely dry he sneezed and rubbed at his nose.
"Damn it..."
"Hey, uhh, you can dry off at my place. If you don't mind the company."
"Dry off and nothing else?"
"Well, I mean... No! I just met you." Uno planted his hands on his hips.
"I know. Just asking, can never tell with you."
Chuckling and rolling his eyes he shook his body again, spraying water everywhere in the vicinity. Uno flinched away, making a face of disgust. He bit his tongue to keep himself from hissing at the water that touched his skin. His cat ears flattened against his head and his hood fell off.
"I think I'll pass, I'm not the type of guy to shower at a strangers house."
"Yeah, yeah... That makes sense."
"Night, hope I see you around."
See each other they did, not because they were in the same apartment building but because Uno made it a habit to at least hang around Sebun as much as he could. There was something about the tall punk that felt like a puzzle piece he was missing.
Then Vera and Rock had the best idea yet to date, a double date. Except neither of them Uno and Sebun that the other was going to be there. Sebun dressed up pretty well and tried to blend in easily, hoping to at least make a good impression with his blind date. He wasn't into the whole dating idea because maybe he didn't have a soulmate? Not having someone out there for him was a fact he made peace with long ago.
Vera could sense his nervousness.
"It's going to be okay, not like you've never done this before. Right?" She cut her bread open, spreading the little butter on it.
"I've never actually been on a date before, you know this." He was rigid, normally when they went out to eat he would take the bread.
"You've never been on a date? Dude..." Rock was busy eating the bread rolls without the butter, it was like his stomach was an empty void.
"You have no right to judge me." His tone was a warning, not the best around other Alpha's even if they weren't threatening.
"No one is judging you, actually, we're really glad to be on your first date!" She elbowed Rock in the side.
"Uno?" Sebun questioned.
"Oh, Sebun! Is anyone wearing floral perfume? Cause I can smell that..." Uno sat down next to Sebun, sniffing the air again to make sure he could smell something.
"You can smell something?" Sebun was forcing the small smile on his face.
"Oh, no- You can't?"
"No? Yes? I haven't really paid it any mind since I've gone through life without a sense of smell."
"Oh." Uno blinked twice, his smile got wider.
"Why do you want to know?"
"Well, I mean, we are on a date."
"Yeah, with two other people." Sebun gestured to Vera and Rock.
"They already know they're soulmates."
"Excuse me, what?!"
He snapped his head in Vera's direction. She sheepishly looked away from him, giggling.
"I couldn't find the best time to tell you, especially since well, y'know..."
"I would have been so happy for you!"
"Yeah, that's uhh why I didn't want to tell you just yet..." She twirled hair between her fingers.
"What do you mean?" Sebun rose a brow.
"I didn't want you to just be happy for me, I wanted you to be genuinely happy."
"You think a soulmate is going to make me genuinely happy?"
"Yeah!" Vera nodded.
"What would make me happy, would be you being happy and sharing milestones with me."
Rock and Uno shared a look with one another.
"Hey, what do you smell right now?" Rock asked.
"Wha- " Sebun blinked twice, processing the question.
"Floral perfume and bread."
"Uno, what about you?"
"Perfume and bread," He shrugged. "Maybe our soulmates are having dinner?"
"Or maybe you two are soulmates?" Vera and Rock suggested.
"Nah. There is no way I would be his soulmate." Uno waved away the notion.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Sebun turned to the blonde, leaning his cheek in his hand.
"We've known each other for quite a bit, and never once smelt the same thing."
"It's not about smelling the same thing, it's more about smelling something that the other smells. Like uhhh the chemicals of the apartment building."
"Or that time you were as wet as a dog!" Uno gasped.
Sebun's eyes widened. Staring at the blonde with eyes the size of the moon his arm slipped on table and he smacked himself with the spoon.
"What?" Uno furrowed his brows, looking at the three sitting at the table.
"There's no way you didn't know..." Rock muttered.
"You'd still be oblivious if your soulmate hit you with a brick." Vera giggled.
"I still don't get it..." The blonde muttered.
"Oh my god," Sebun shook his head with a laugh. "I'll explain it to you later."
"Yeah, 'explain it to him' totally." Vera nodded with a wink, making air quotes with her fingers.
The waitress came just as Vera said that, thankfully he was able to pretend he didn't hear anything at all.
"What would shall I start you off with?"

I can't get over how you write your Nanbaka stuff, it really seems like you enjoy it. I was wondering if you could write more of Sebun and Uno, their dynamic seems cool
Anon, I am a sucker for these two! I'm enjoying writing them actually getting along in my fanfic This Is Not Okay. You can find it on AO3-- I'll just link it lol-- shameless promotion.
Just a dash of implied angst.
Tumblr media
The blonde didn't know why but he hated the way Sebun talked to him. Hated the way his choppy hair looked so nicely done. Hated the way the lilac haired inmate would stare at him, the limp in his step. He hated him so much, but couldn't help focusing on only him. Hated when Sebun made him laugh, when Sebun made him flustered. Hated when he was ignored, hated when he wasn't around.
Uno hated Sebun. Loathed him.
The blonde from building 13 found the lilac haired inmate sitting in the garden of building five, new bandages, new scrapes and cuts. Sitting at the gazebo with a book in hand, oblivious to the world. Uno couldn't help but stop and stare.
Sebun was always nervous. He always looked like he was hiding something. Hiding himself. In the moment he was concentrated, in the moment he looked peaceful. His hair curtaining his eyes. Uno took a step forward clearing his throat.
"Vera told me you'd be here."
"Suddenly that makes me think you care?"
"What- No. I wanted to see how you were doing." Uno sat next to him, leaving space between.
"At least I don't hate you. You're a nice guy."
"I don't- "
"I see it in your face, I hear it in the way you talk to your friends, the way you talk to Vera. Now that she's gone back you've come to me as a backup."
"I love you! Okay?"
"You sure have a shit way of showing it." Sebun flipped a page in his book. He didn't dare look up.
He hated those eyes too. How they pulled him in, entranced him. Calmed him down and enticed him. He hated how soft Uno's hair was or how his face looked like it was chiseled from marble.
"What do you want me to say?"
"I don't want you to say anything."
"I don't get you..." Uno sighed, taking off his hat he ran his hand through his hair.
Then there was silence between the two. Tension non-existent but the silence was thick enough you could cut through with a knife. Sebun wasn't ignoring him but the blonde felt ignored. He felt small. He felt too vulnerable right now.
"Seijirou."
This caught the other inmates attention quickly, his book snapping shut like a ruler against a child's hands. Uno tensed up. He realized he might have messed up. Said something wrong. The silence from the lilac-haired inmate was terrifying following his reaction.
"I like you," He repeated his sentiment from earlier, pausing to find the words. "but I hate everything you do."
"Then why do you like me?"
"I don't know, I just do. I hate being near you, hate being away from you. Hate talking to you, hate when I haven't talked to you."
"That's... conflicting."
"Yeah." Uno breathed.
The silence started between them again. It was loud enough to make their ears ring. Seijirou sighed, his book in his lap. He stared at it for a second before turning to Uno. His ID badge was black.
That could only mean...
"I'm... On death row."
"This whole time you haven't been."
"The warden found out I was labeled incorrectly, even if I didn't do the crime... I'm still serving the sentence."
"They can't just kill you for something you didn't do!"
"Uno."
"Isn't Samon doing anything?!"
"He's trying."
"You can't be on death row! This isn't possible! Why?"
"Uno."
Seijirou grabbed one of his hands. The bandages always felt rough to him, he wanted to feel what Seijirou's hands were like under them but that was impossible. Rubbing his thumb over Uno's knuckles Seijirou stared at the blondes blue nails for a moment.
"I like you too."

Body Swap?!
Sebun and Uno get body swapped. No one knows how it happened. No one knows why it happened. It just happened. Out of nowhere.
Tumblr media
From the moment Uno woke up everything absolutely hurt. He was in astonishing pain. All this hurt and pain made waking up even harder, it took him a while to roll over or even open his eyes. He wanted to go back to sleep. Maybe this was Nico's doing? Something weird always happened with him and his medicine.
When he turned over and finally opened his eyes he was met with a splitting headache from the sun streaming directly on his face. Instead of his friends and the cell in building 13 he was met with a far different sight. Those inmates from building 5 were in the cell with him. Scrambling to his feet he held his pillow in front of him.
"Where the hell did you come from?!"
"What do you mean? We're your cellmates." The old man- Qi gave him a strange look.
"Sebun did you hit your head?" Liang asked, he was worried but tried hard not to show it.
"We aren't cellmates! I'm an inmate of building 13!"
"He definitely hit his head." Upa sighed, clicking his tongue.
Wait. Did Liang call him Sebun? His name was Uno! Looking down at his hands he noticed the bandages. The only other person he knew that had bandages on his hands was Sebun. What was going on?!
"Alright inmates! Time for breakfast!" Samon opened the cell door. At least he was less harsh than Hajime from what he heard. "Oh, inmate seven. I'll be taking you to the doctors this time. I have Houdzuki doing errands for me."
Uno blinked twice hearing this. Did Sebun go to the doctors often? Was something wrong with him?
Realizing that Samon was watching and waiting for him to step out of the cell he hesitated for a second. His bones were screaming at him and his joints felt like they were bleeding from the inside.
"Are you flaring up again? I'll get the wheelchair."
Did Sebun really deal with this all day? He blinked when he saw Samon bring in a wheelchair. His body relaxed once he sat down. Shoulders still hunched, his mind still alert.
Was he in Sebun's body?
After breakfast Samon was taking him to the infirmary. Uno was playing with the ends of his(Sebun's) hair absentmindedly. He stared down at his feet while he thought. Normally, Sebun was carefree and never showed it but Uno couldn't imagine always putting on a façade even though he was in constant pain every single second of the day.
"How does he do this?" He accidentally asked aloud.
"Eh? How does who do this?"
"I- Uh- You! How do you always take me to the infirmary and not... Get annoyed?" In his head Uno was patting himself on the back for a good cover up.
"It's my job. I think if my brother were here he would also give you some compassion and understanding too. I've.. learned it from him."
Uno felt like he was going to cry. Samon was leagues better than Hajime is at building thirteen. He didn't want to find a way to reverse this, maybe he could even get used to being in pain all the time.
Maybe.
The moment he woke up something felt wrong. His body wasn't aching, his head wasn't hurting. There was nothing. Relishing in this feeling for just a bit longer he hoped that Samon wouldn't mind. If the supervisor was in his shoes he would understand.
Then the cell door opened scaring him.
"God damnit! It's way past wake up!"
Samon was never let with wakeup....
He turned over and recognized the unfamiliar surroundings. Noticing that those three from building 13 were scared awake by the shouting. He yelped when he was pulled out of bed.
"You shits should have been up ages ago!"
So this was Hajime Sugoroku. Sebun narrowed his eyes and batted the supervisors hands away. He was not happy that he was with Hajime. Where was Samon? Houdzuki? Someone far better than this shit-for-brains power hungry asshole.
"Hey, Uno. Don't you wake up early to begin your skincare routine?" The emo- Jyuugo asked.
Why did he call him Uno? What was a skincare routine?
"Now that I think about it, Uno doesn't normally sleep in." Nico commented.
"That's the last thing I care about right now! Clean up your futons and get to the cafeteria for breakfast!" Hajime barked.
"Okay, I have had enough of your stupid yelling! It would help if you at least didn't try to rush us. We did wakeup late because you didn't come to get us." Sebun put his hands on his(Uno's) hips.
"The fuck you say to me inmate?" The supervisor cracked his knuckles.
"I said--"
Sebun ducked when Hajime went to hit him, maneuvering around the gorilla of a man with ease. He noticed pink and yellow hair out of the corner of his eye and suddenly it clicked.
Yesterday, Vera was talking about this body switching movie from America. Freaky Friday? Something like that. Of course, because nothing normal happens at this prison, he and Uno just had to switch bodies. Right?
But knowing that would ruin the fanfiction, no? Sebun didn't want to ruin it but he also didn't want to fall for whatever outdated trope this was.
"Just get to the cafeteria!" Hajime yelled in his face.
"Your breath stinks..." Sebun muttered.
After breakfast on their end Sebun was walking back. For once he could look down at his hands and actually see hands, even if they were Uno's. He liked the color of his nail polish and the feel of his hair. No one commented how he just put it in a ponytail instead of the braid it was worn in consistently.
He hoped at least Uno was having fun with a nicer supervisor than Hajime. He himself was having the time of his life not being in pain or needing a wheelchair. It was still there in the back of his mind but he knew this body wasn't actually in constant pain.
By now he would have gone to the infirmary, but he didn't need to at the moment. Just as they were returning to their cells Yamato came up to Hajime and the inmates. He always had this bright smile and a jolly attitude.
"Ah, supervisor! Do you think the inmates cared to join me and 99 for some training?"
A lightbulb went off in his head.
"I'd love to join you!" Sebun blurted out.
"This is a new development! No. 11 you practically avoid training!" Yamato laughed, clapping him on the back rather harshly.
Sebun was never allowed to train at building 5 unless the doctors said he could. He had the opportunity to experience training like Liang and Upa. No longer sitting on the side lines.
"There's something different about you today, Uno." Tsukumo eyed him curiously. Nodding to himself.
"Oh, well, you know me. Full of energy!" Sebun spoke with his hands, something Uno didn't do.
"We'll be going to building 5, again!" Yamato announced, grinning from ear to ear.
When Uno and Sebun met it was like they were staring at themselves in an out of body experience. Sebun was wearing a purple tracksuit, a grin plastered on his own face.
"Oh no, no, no, no. You are not training with my body!" Uno snapped.
"You can't just sit and do nothing with mine!" Sebun fired back.
For a moment Uno wanted to be mad, wanted to be furious but he saw how happy Sebun looked. Sighing he played with the ends of his(Sebun's) hair.
"Fine. You can train, but only because I know everything hurts and you finally have a chance not to feel bad."
"Thank you so much! You're the best!" Sebun brought Uno for a hug. It wasn't actually that awkward hugging yourself.
"Yeah, yeah. Don't mention it. When we swap back though, I'm going to get you back for this." Uno chuckled.
"What do you mean?" Sebun tilted his head like a curious puppy.
"You'll know when the time comes."
"Thanks, Uno!"
It was an accident, involuntary. He wasn't thinking. Kissing Uno's cheek without a thought in the world before he ran off to join Tsukumo. Uno felt his face flush, it was the body's reaction. Not his own. He stared wide eyed at a spot on the ground.
Did Sebun just kiss him?!
The two returned to their bodies the following day. Sebun was greeted with the same unfathomable pain that greeted him every morning and Uno was pleasantly surprised to see his nail color changed from blue to purple.
There were, of course, little things they learned about each other.
Sebun got to learn that Uno was very self conscious even if he tried not to show it, Kiji had stopped by and of course what he said was upsetting to hear. Come on, a 2 out of 100 makes no sense.
Uno learned that Sebun wasn't good at math. He was horrible at it. Actually, he learned that Sebun still needed to do homework. Homework that Kiji gave him. It was a plus not hearing the pheasant call him a 2 out of 100.
The blonde found Sebun sitting under a tree reading. He was always reading. The inmate brought a book of his own this time. Sitting silently next to Sebun he opened his book without a word.
"You brought a book?" Sebun asked. He never spoke first.
"Yeah."
"Don't tell me it's because you don't want to do anything that involves moving around." The purple-haired inmate laughed.
"No, I just want to sit here with you."
"That's... New."
"Is that bad?"
"No, no. It's just weird, is all."
"Y'know what else is weird?" Uno asked.
Sebun hummed in response.
"Getting kissed on the cheek."
"I didn't mean too!" His face flushed red.
"Oh, you didn't mean too?" Uno faked a frown, pretended to be hurt.
"Wait- Fuck, that's not-"
"I know, I know! I'm just teasing you!"
"Asshole..." Sebun muttered.
"Right back at you."
A beat passed between the two as they settled into their books. Sebun reading some type of romance novel and Uno... He chose a fictional adventure.
"Hey, this is out of the blue but, you deserve way more than 2 points. You're at least a 90 out of 100."
"Excuse me?!"
