Oh, I got Utage.
Looking at her, I honestly can’t tell her use too well? She has a skill that heals herself, raises her defense, and just lets enemies pass by. There’s probably a use for her, maybe in her 2nd skill?

For arknights stuff how about purely platonic ships for pur sadcat jessica. Outside of her blacksteel coworkers
I saw (and loved) a comic a while back about Jessica befriending Siege and Indra and I think the idea of quiet, shy, utterly unassertive, and anxiety-ridden Jessica befriending the two tough delinquent cats is both extremely cute and extremely funny. Blaze is another good option because she already plays something of a Cool Big Sis role for Amiya and could easily extend this to encompass Jessica. Exusiai is very similar in the sense that she's very upbeat and outgoing and could kind of get Jessica out of her shell a little.
Nearl would be a good friend for Jessica because she's very kind and patient, whereas Blemishine combines Nearl's general kindness with the energy of Blaze and Exusiai to give Jessica a friend closer to her age (I think? It can be very hard to tell sometimes).
Dobermann + Jessica would be extremely funny because now an emotionally-stunted hardass used to leading and training tough, rugged soldiers has to figure out how to deal this tiny catgirl who's basically just a bundle of nerves and anxiety given form. We know from her profile that Dobermann actually cares deeply about her recruits (just not so great at showing it) and is very good at identifying how far she can push them before they reach their limit.
Jessica should be friends with Swire because rich cats need rich friends.
Finally, I'm not sure how old Jessica is, exactly, but she seems young enough that she'd probably hang out with Utage without too much trouble, and you've probably figured out by now that I like quiet + outgoing pairings at this point.

The Gavial event was so funny because it had no stakes at all, it was A Fun Romp, A Good Ol’ Time, the closest the game has had to a goofy event, even the designated summer events had higher stakes (Siesta and Dossoles). Flint goes “Leave Bond to me...” and then immediately gets fucking destroyed by Blaze, Tomimi shot you down with an air to surface missile launcher, Eunectes built a Metal Slug boss from scrap and junk. Utage becomes a raging warlord for all of 3 hours because she just found it fun to go on a rampage and fight the locals, and when asked to stop, she immediately says “yeah sure lmao” and drops it. Gavial is established as Doctor’s Homie, as their Buddy, their Pal, and given Doctor is physically fragile, Gavial keeps an eye on them so they don’t just drop dead in the harsh Sargon rainforests. Tomimi is extremely jealous and wants the same attention from Gavial. Gavial tells her to wipe her own ass. You can further provoke Tomimi even though Doctor and Gavial are strictly Homies. Gavial gets punched DBZ style by the Metal Slug boss, but not before actually stopping it in its tracks for a good amount of time with just raw physical strength. Gavial asks Doctor if that swimsuit looks good on her. Doctor can just troll her and say her tail looks fatter. Tomimi sends 100+ dudes to beat you up. Gavial and Eunectes beat the crap out of them Dynasty Warriors style. Tomimi gets spanked by Gavial and then has the audacity to apply as an Operator for Rhodes Island. Tomimi starts beating the shit out of dummies with Arts and it flabbergasts hers examiners so much that they let her be a Caster that beats the shit out of things. Tomimi turns out to be the ultimate grillmaster. Flint regularly picks fights with people way out of her league. Kal’tsit nearly murders Doctor because the airplane got shot under their supervision. Eunectes also makes her way there entirely and exclusively because she loves Lancet-2. Ceobe singlehandedly created the best game mode by getting high as fuck on shrooms and going on a rampage in the rainforests.
The Great Chief Returns and Fungimist were good.

hey shutters!
this one is quite a lot to ask so forgive me in advance, but could you help me understand the difference between the guard archetypes?
I understand what aoe, arts fighter, ranged and duelist could be useful for, but brawler, crusher, dualstrike, enmity, liberator, reaper and instructor confuse me quite a bit, I can't figure out what their uses would be
First off, better to use the archetype names in-game instead of the fan names Gamepress insists on using for some reason, since Duelists in game are a Defender archetype, while Gamepress uses them to refer to Dreadnoughts. This will help you get less confused once you start playing the other game modes with interactions for specific archetypes.
Now I will explain each in the order that you gave (but with the correct in-game names for "Brawler", "Dualstrike", and "Enmity")
Fighter - Block-1, low damage, punch very fast. These guys are usually relegated to being pseudo-vanguards cleaning up trash enemies whenever vanguards are banned, because their DP cost is the smallest, though the 6 stars have more than a few extra features. Mountain especially, is an AFK laneholding god since he can become Block-2 and gains incredibly high HP regen.
Crusher - I'm going to be real with you, these guys were a mistake. The highest Max HP and ATK stats in the game don't make up for a very slow ATK interval and 0 DEF. They can act as meatshields for your other operators vs Arts and True damage because their max HP is so high, but otherwise don't bother with them. Unless you love them (like I do) then you can max them out, use them in battle, win anyway, and feel like a big brain.
Swordmaster - Swordmasters are funny because their trait isn't a real part of their identity whatsoever. They have low ATK compared to other guards, but hit twice per attack. This doesn't actually matter (because even with skills that charge per attack, they only charge 1 SP with both strikes). What they ARE known for, is being the technical Guard class with a wide variety of powerful nuking skills and weird talents while also tending to have anti-air capabilities. Each Swordmaster is very different in usage. Bibeak has a spammable stun, Tachanka uses a gun instead of a sword to hit from long range with a normal attack, Cutter is a cheap 4 star who either throws throwing knives or does an AOE slice around her (both skills can hit flying units), etc. They shine best in alternate game modes like IS where they tend to have hilarious interactions with the powerups there, but are able to hold their own in the normal game mode.
Musha - Musha can't be healed (not exactly true but this is for another time), but heal themselves with every attack and rely on their huge Max HP, big ATK stats, and talents that increase their ASPD the lower their health is to survive. Since they can't be healed anyway, there's no point keeping them near your team, so Musha are usually used to "plug" lanes by putting them right in front of the enemy gates and made to fend for themselves. Since they're only Block-1 they won't deal with hordes of trash so well, but if you learn which red gate is spawning the dangerous enemies that don't come in groups, a Musha strong enough to win a 1v1 with them can free up a whole defensive formation by themselves. Alternatively, their big stats and increasing ASPD also make them good drop-in assassins, especially Utage, whose S2 makes her start any deployment at half HP but in turn deals arts damage on attacks.
Liberator - They don't attack, have terrible ATK stats, and are block 0, but in exchange they slowly charge up their ATK stat for every second they aren't using a skill until they get +200% ATK after 40 seconds. When they DO use their skill and finally attack, they deal monstrous AOE damage and gain a wider range than most other Guards. Mlynar is a Liberator who is infamously regarded as one of (if not the) strongest operators in the game, thanks to his S3 having huge range and even more gigantic damage that instantly crumples anything lower than 3000 DEF. Not attacking, not blocking, and waiting to fully charge their ATK may seem inconvenient, but the extreme damage they deal can hard carry a squad through even very difficult stages.
Reaper - Reapers have a unique horizontal attack range that lets them do a sweeping AOE attack. They can't be healed like Mushas but don't have the giant stat heft that Mushas do, but they do have Block-2 and heal for every 2 units they hit (though they can hit way more than 2 enemies with their attack). They are tailor made for dealing with hordes meant to overwhelm you with sheer numbers, but thanks to their horizontal attack range I've found you can also put them into a melee tile out of the way of enemy paths. This can perfectly align enemy pathing with their horizontal attack range to get free damage on whole groups of enemies at once. You can also defend a big lane made up of two lanes by putting two Reapers side by side so their attacks overlap, which deals with most hordes well enough.
Instructor - Instructors have long-ranged attacks with their whips which lets them hide behind other, stronger units, but their real purpose is usually to provide said stronger units with support buffs, their own attacks only meant to be supplementary damage. I say usually, because the strongest Instructor, Pallas, is used as a primary DPS in alternate game modes like IS instead of being a buffer. This archetype is rather unpopular because most people would rather put a second DPS instead of a support, but they do have their uses now and then in funny meme strats involving gigabuffing one unit.

Im feeling the beginning of rarepair brainworms in a way I haven’t since Texas/Carnelian.
Laurentina/Lappland.
Do you see it. The elegance, the culture, the sophistication, the charm. Ornate ceremonial daggers used only in back-alley fights. The pure love of violence. The aesthetic sensibility, the sharp-toothed friendliness with other people.
The way they talk might seem like the kind of person who’s roundabout and indirect but they’re both so bold and upfront with it. There’d be a spark there and they’d be drawn together and just, unquestioningly step in the direction of gravity. I think they would get together so fucking fast. Visceral, carnal, bloody. They’d both have the most romantic things to say while cutting each other up and tasting each other’s blood. Who better could understand that drive to blood?
Orrrr.
Utage/Lappland. Battle of the cool girls who are actually Fucking Weird and a little bit unhinged and scary. Ore lesions and blood and glitter and venom and fancy skin cream. No? It’s good stuff.

I am developing a new Arknights Niche that will make the Meta-Slaves shit their pants in fear.
Presenting:
Badknights, Mind over Meta
Tumblr media
There are no bad Operators, just bad Doctors
- Abraham Lincoln
Niche guidelines:
Operators must either be ranked as B Tier or lower on Gamepress, or listed as Low-Tier Letdown on TvTropes.
Operators B Tier or lower that are marked with a red border on Gamepress' tier list (meaning they are considered good early investments and are just as powerful as higher rarity Operators) are disqualified (Kroos, Melantha, Midnight, Ansel❌️)
Operators B+ Tier or higher on Gamepress must be listed as Low-Tier Letdown on TvTropes in order to qualify (Breeze, Tuye, Reed ✅️)
Likewise, no using 6-Star Operators, who are generally considered A- or higher on Gamepress (sans Vigil), unless they are explicitly defined as Low-Tier Letdowns on TvTropes (Ho'olheyak, Ebenholz, Siege✅️)
Operators considered "Former Letdowns who have ascended from Low Tier" are not allowed as they are no longer considered Low-Tiers (Amiya, Ch'en, Lappland❌️)
Operators listed on Arknights' "Game Breaker" page on TvTropes are automatically disqualified.
Likewise, Operators categorized as "former Game-Breakers who have fallen off the Meta" cannot be used. While they technically are "Not-Meta", they still need to be listed as Low-Tiers to truly qualify. (Blaze, Schwarz, Nian❌️)
Operators under a certain archetype (Emnity Guard, Splash Caster, Abjurer Supporter) that are listed as Low-Tier Letdown as a whole are considered "Low-Tier Letdown by Technicality" (Lava the Purgatory, Utage✅️) unless explicitly stated otherwise (Silence the Paradigmatic, Quercus, Lava, Gitano, Hoederer❌️)
Current Badknights Roster
Quartz (C Tier, Low-Tier Letdown)
Gavial (B- Tier)
Humus (B Tier)
Pudding (B (Tier)
Lava the Purgatory (Low-Tier Letdown by Technicality)
Orchid (C Tier)
Scavenger (B Tier)
Sideroca (B Tier, Low-Tier Letdown)
Catapult (C Tier)
Jessica (B- Tier, Low Tier Letdown)
Hibiscus (C Tier)
Grani (B Tier, Low-Tier Letdown)
Reed (Low-Tier Letdown)

For Utagie the #1 Bestieeee: 1, 12, 13 and 23
1: My first impression of them
My first impression of Utage was "meh, worse Hellagur", but then her summer skin came out and my second impression was "Boobs!" because damn, she was hiding some serious bahoogahongaroogas under that jacket, and then my third impression was "damn, her back must hurt," and (unusually for me) at no point during this process was I horny for her, she is the bestie and I can't do her dirty like that
12: Sexuality hc!
Utage strikes me as bi as hell, she definitely kissed girls at college parties and decided she liked it, but I do think she's also attracted to men
13: Your favorite friendship they have
Well she's the bestie so it's gotta be Utage + Doc, but I feel like based on her files Utage's gotta have a lot of friends.
23: Future headcanon
Her family sword is going to be important somehow and I think she's going to be involved with whatever storyline leads to us learning more about Higashi, but I don't know how.

I created 4 custom mod textures for 2nd costume of Oichi on Sengoku Basra Utage because why not? hehe also thanks to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-MzHmLeRJo&t=555s for making this mod, which I was able to recreate new ideas, and to https://www.deviantart.com/monkeygigabuster/art/Sengoku-Basara-3-Utage-Oichi-classic-color-287585180 which was the foundation of this custom mod texture for Oichi.
This mod texture can only use in Dolphin emulator.
