It's kind of funny that there's no malicious copy protection stuff in Wii games, even though it should be really easy to do.

The Wii used motion controls for a bunch of games and you'd think some games would try to detect whether or not you're using an emulator based on motion input. Why isn't any game just like "Huh, every time the controller is shaken it's done at the EXACT same frequency? Time to crash the game lol."

I have a Wii games folder on my PC that's almost 50 gigabytes in size and not one of those games seems to care that it's being emulated.

does anyone in this thread use dolphin emulator and know how to solve a problem with the a button not working in certain circumstances

for context i've been playing mysims games with my keyboard as controls on dolphin emulator and it works pretty well except i can't click anything during character customization or use any paint tools and i don't know why? and i don't know what to look up that will be helpful since most user control problems on dolphin are in regards to external controllers not working

thank you!! they're textures hacks, the outfit is recolored from the red victorian dress. i uploaded it here if you want to use it! enable "load custom textures" in dolphin and put it in documents -> dolphin emulator -> load -> textures -> (RBIEE9/CBIEE9) the eyes are for angela, so if you're playing as molly you'll have to edit it yourself, someone already made a tutorial for that here!

i am a big proponent of playing older games at their original resolution with pixel-perfect upscaling rather than playing a "4K remastered" version of them

(no i cannot afford a retrotink, this screenshot was captured using Dolphin Emulator rendering at native resolution and using area sampling + AutoHDR postprocessing, hence the slightly overblown colors caused by converting back to SDR color space)
