For said Dog Tabletop RPG… it’s actually not just dogs! Dogs, Housecats, and Humans are the three prevalent group due to Human genocide towards other intelligent species that didn’t submit to their rule, but there are other intelligent species in this world!

There are 15 types: Humans, Monkeys, Apes, Canines, Felines, Dolphins, Octopi, Pigs, Elephants, Corvids, Parrots, Pigeons, Rats, Monitor Lizards and Axolotls.

They will all be playable eventually, but my plan is to publish the Canine playable species in the first book and expand from there. There’s also a huge supernatural part to this world. They each have their own cultures to explore too, so I’m super excited to share more with y’all!!!

Wait wait, I know the bird you would be. An Italian Owl pigeon. One of the smallest breeds of domestic pigeon. Very tiny and precious and happy. And Italian. And an owl. (“Owl” breeds of pigeon are a group characterized by being friendly and small). My own pigeon is a very similar breed (Valencian Figurita, almost identical but even smaller, and Spanish in origin rather than Italian).

they’re cute little birds, i considered breeding them at one point because i like tiny birds but then i fell in love with Portuguese Tumblers. i like the owl personality but i really prefer the more in-your-face personality of Ports in a smaller bird

So I want to own a pigeon when I have the time/money/etc but I do have one issue: I have a weird fear of birds attacking my eyes? That sounds odd I know but since you spend a lot of time with pigeons, what is the likelihood of that actually happening? (I remember an anecdote you said a while ago about Rex accidentally scratching your face because she meant to land on your head?)

That’s perfectly understandable lolRex has missed before and crashed into my face. Young birds will be more prone to this, and the larger the bird the more it hurts (nails scratching wise, if they didn’t have nails it would be kind of pleasant, like being hit with a marshmallow)! Soot doesn’t hurt at all when she accidentally lands on my face even though he nails are sharper and longer, she’s too petite to break skin. It happens very rarely though, both my pigeons are good fliers, sometimes they just get excited and lose control. The other thing is when they preen your eyes. Rex is always so gentle and precise, it feels great. Sooty? Not so much, she tries, she really does, but she always ends up pinching my eyelid which hurts lol. Doesn’t cause physical damage at least 😅If you want a bird that can’t physically hurt your eyes (or any part of you) go with an Italian owl, they’re little and sweet! Lou, Rex’s breeder, always has some available, their his favorite breed for pets. Also Valencian Figurita which I’m pretty sure @ramseyringnecks breeds. Similar to Italian owls but even smaller.
