Not sure why but I was struck my the desire to do my makeup pretty randomly (it’s 10pm and I’m in for the night) as I was putting away the items from one if my spring ipsy bags. I knew I had tried the products but couldn’t even remember what they looked like. No filter because I wanted a truthful picture of the makeup. My application isn’t great but it’s not a bad depiction of what I might look like when I’ve woken up late and sloppily thrown my face on before work. @nomad’s intense eyeshadow in champagne reef and @thebalm’s the balm jour creamy lip stain in salut! were the main inspiration and basis of this look. I used champagne reef as the base shadow and at the corners and underneath my eye. I used the gold and green from the @wetnwildbeauty’s House of Thorns palette (Rebel Rose Collection) on the lid and crease respectively. I have used correctors from brands like Becca, Dragun Beauty and LA Girl to name a few and they are all great. Recently I tried Vasanti Cosmetics Liquid VO2 for warm to medium skin tones. As promised! For the last month or so, this has been my skincare routine. After I finished off my Dermalogica products, I began using things I'd gotten from Ipsy or from work. Burts Bees cleansing oil, Mario Badescu enzyme cleansing gel, Vasanti 'Brighten Up!' exfoliating cleanser, Mario Badescu vitamin C serum (ignore the container, I had to put it in a spare bottle), Naked aloe cream, and The Organic Pharmacy lip and eye cream. ... I love cleansing oils. I like that first step of removing the residual makeup, oils, dirt, and surface grime. Burts Bees did a great job. AND it didn't make me oily. The cleansing gel doesn't foam, and feels gentler on my skin than the glycolic cleanser. It doesn't dry me out either, which is a big plus. I always thought I was oily, until I figured out I was just over drying my skin. This is something I'll definitely purchase in the future. The exfoliator feels a lot like Dr.Brandt's Microdermabrasion and performs similarly. Like a fine grained cream, it doesn't foam, and buffs away EVERYTHING. My skin tone seems to have evened out and my freckles have faded some, and it does a great job getting rid of dead flaky skin. I only use it about every other day just to let my skin rest. The Vitamin C serum takes its time soaking in and keeps my face shiny for about an hour after application (but not in a gross oily way, more like dewy or glowing). I only use it at night to avoid burning in the sun and to let the serum soak into my skin. The moisturizer is thick and feels like silk (must be all the delicious plant ingredients), absorbs fast and hydrates without feeling like I'm wearing a mask. I love it. AND I can use it day or night. I'll definitely be getting it again in the future. Lastly the eye cream! Super thick, super moisturizing, and takes its time soaking in.
