"Porque la sangre derramada nos va a salvar a todos." Latinx Screams really carried me through the week. I enjoyed this collection of latinx horror stories so much. Each story was unique and showcased each author's creative imagination. Some left me wanting me more because they were so captivating and I could see them as longer pieces in the future. Overall this anthology was solid and I know I will be rereading it often. The collection explored some key themes which really made each story rich with the Latinx flavor. Many of the pieces explored family and sacrifice. Religion, friendship, death, the human nature of evil and clash of culture were other key themes. Each author brought a unique style of atmospheric writing that captured my attention. I loved the references to mythology and folklore. My favorite story was Sangre Desmarrada by Hector Acosta about immigrant workers in a chicken processing plant that was raided by ICE. I also loved Galán by Richie Narvaez about a robot and a family dealing with culture clash and assimilation. It gave me creepy Jetsons vibes. Imperial Slaughterhouse by A.E. Santana was another standout that gave me goosebumps. Behind the Mountains by E. Reyes took me back to my childhood and gave Pet Sematary energy. I would love to see Come, Play become a bigger piece because it left me craving more. If horror isn't you're usual genre, this one would be perfect for you. It has a little bit of everything there is to love about Latinx storytelling. I am definitely hoping for another collection of stories in the future. Nosso amor vive de altos e baixos, mas isso nunca foi motivo para que a gente se distanciasse, pelo contrário, pois a cada queda nos levantamos ainda mais fortes. Com você não existem mentiras, não existem enrolações, não existe o impossível e até mesmo o difícil se torna fácil. Sei que com você posso encontrar a solução entre meus problemas, e dessa forma me perco em seus braços que formam uma barreira protetora em torno de mim. Depois que entrou em minha vida todos os cliches que sempre vi em filmes e livros, passaram a ter um sentido aos meus olhos, e sou feliz por estar vivendo uma história repleta de romance e drama ao seu lado. Porque ao seu lado, tudo se torna melhor de se viver. E é por isso que desejo estar ao seu lado pelos próximos anos, até o fim de minha vida. Somos amantes um do outro, sempre regando nosso amor para que ele se eternize.

Eu sabia que era questão de tempo pra que isso acontecesse, na verdade, eu sabia que já estava acontecendo só que insistia em negar com todas as forças pois de fato eu não queria acreditar nisso.
