Writing Challenge Day 5 Prompt Library

Yvet followed Thubyrgeim to the lowest levels of Mealvaan’s Gate where the guilds extensive library resided.  The Viis was hiding it well but she was still amazed how much this Limsa Lominsa resembled Eulmore.  She had traveled once to the maritime city to strengthen its ties with Ronka.  From the moment she saw Limsa from the deck and heard the merchant talking about it she was confused.  The city literally looked identical to Eulmore but upon leaving the ship she could see the overt differences.

“Feel free to peruse as long as you like,” Thubyrgeim’s voice interrupted Yvets thoughts.  Inwardly the Viis shook herself and gave the larger woman a smile. 

“Thank you I shall,” she responded, reminding herself inwardly to remember to be social.  Just because she had been alone on a deserted island for roughly five years did not mean she should forget what it was to interact with people.  Her Chieftoness had always relied on her as a diplomat and she was loath to part with that even tenuous connection to home.

The Roegadyn gave her a warm smile and said, “May you find what you seek, and if you need any help please feel free to ask,”

With that Thubyrgeim waved then went back up the stairs they had just descended leaving the Viis alone in the library.  May she find what she seeks, the question was what exactly was she truly  looking for?

When she had woken on the island she had simply thought she had been lost somewhere far from Norvrandt but on the same world.  But now, especially with beginning to dig through the various books and maps here in the library of Mealvaan’s Gate, she began to suspect that she was somehow on a different world.  A world that while it had its own overt times of strife and troubles by all the records she was finding about the various Calamities.  Had never had the strange ‘bleaching’ of life on the world or the giant gleaming wave that she had seen just before she woke on the island.

She was here on a world not her own with its own troubles and no knowledge of how to get back to Norvrandt, much less to the Ronkan Empire.  For the massive variety of information she was seeing here in this library, there was nothing she could see that spoke of traversing to other worlds or if such a feat was possible how to return to one's home.

She gave a small growl of annoyance then shook herself, her best course of action now was to learn about this new world and find what manner of things she would do in it. Her mother used to always tell her since she was a small kit, Lament not what you cannot change but seek out the things you can and change them for the better.

She stood stretching from the long hours of pouring over maps and tomes little bones popping as she did.  Then she put back all that she had been going through on their proper shelves, gathered her things and made her way back up to the main part of the Gate.  First thing she would do is see about learning more of this Arcanima.  From what she had gathered from the young Elf, Elezen she mentally corrected herself.  The magics it employed was not unlike some of the spells used to call and work with the Vorpal Rabbits was not unlike it.  In fact they seemed very similar.  That was a start: next she would probably make her way to the Adventurer’s Guild the merchant had mentioned and sign up to become one.  The best way to learn about this new world she was on was to travel it.

I've been using the monthly screenshot prompts for my FC but with April being a clusterfuck month with Lalas, Viera, and Aura all overlapping and some months having nothing, we use this setup: January: Jobuary. For both combat and non-combat classes, jobs, and general roles. February: Febhyurary, for Hyur. March: Miqomarch, for Miqo'te. April: Vierapril, for Viera May: Mixedmay. This is for characters that are mixed more than one playable race, characters that are canonically from a non-playable race (Padjali, Garleans, etc), characters that aren't any in-game canonical race (like we have someone who has made a moth viera and I've seen kitsune themed Miqo). I also allow people to showcase characters from completely different MMOs like BDO, ESO, PSO2, WoW, GW2, etc. June: Junelezen, for Elezen. July: Julalafell, for Lalafell. August: Auraugust, for Au Ra. September: Shiptember. For pairings whether they're WoL x NPC, two WoLs, or characters of two people who are involved outside the game. This year we're gonna be using the marchofthetropes prompts someone found on Twitter. October: Hrothtober, for Hrothgar. Hoping we'll have Femhroth by the time this one rolls around this year. November: Roevember, for Roegadyn. December: free month. We don't do anything this month because we got Endwalker in December and might see 7.0 in Dec this year hopefully.

#If anyone wants to use this format for your own FC go right ahead. #I don't stake claim to any of it obvs because outside like #May and January and sometimes September its other peoples' prompt lists. #I just like this formatting to reduce the overlap in months like April and the dead months that otherwise would have nothing.
