Looking back at large trim and restoration project the we finally finished up last week now the all the doors have been painted. The customer loves to preserve but also enjoys the natural wear on a house. All the hardware was covered with paint and corrosion so that you couldn’t even tell what metal they were made of let alone the details. They have all been restored to working order! "5,000 Blue-Line Hansen Tack Points specifically designed for Hansen Tackers!" RARE! vintage Hansen Tack Points (or, as we call them now, staples!): Blue and White box, with all tacks included. These tacks were manufactured in the 1930s by the A.L. Hansen MFG, CO., in Chicago, Illinois. The company is still up and running today, though these tacks are no longer manufactured. The Hansen tacks are even featured in the Made in Chicago Museum, which offers a more in-depth history lesson on their background: These tacks were once used for the Hansen Tacker, a staple gun patented back in 1932, arguably one of the first of its kind in the world. The owner, Augie Hansen, made his first patent at the age of 11, and became a mechanic after starting a job at the Timekeeper's office of the Western Electric Company at age 15. v After applying for the patent for the Hansen staple gun - a huge innovation at the time - Augie spent the next 10 years improving on the design in a long, drawn out fight with his one of his greatest enemies: the staple jam. This is a great piece of memorabilia and/or home decor from the '30s. Use the box, even use the staples if you want to, or just enjoy this graphically eye-catching piece of history! 4.5" x 1.5" x 1" $30
