why is every woman in the rangers apprentice series blonde. like I remembered Alyss was but holy shit it is every woman. unless she’s a random side unnamed side character not described in detail and not described as pretty. this shit is SO blatant and obvious it’s breaking my immersion, this author is incapable of writing a woman as pretty without describing blonde hair in some way. jenny, alyss, lady pauline (albeit with some gray hair as it’s mentioned how beautiful she was in youth, with it still being obvious in her gray streaked blonde hair…), the princess,,, there’s not many other important women in this series which is its own glaring problem. like it’s a book series with monsters like the wargles and kalkara, I could suspend my disbelief about every girl being conventionally pretty for the sake of fantasy and it’s stellar combat and funny scenes, but why is every single attractive woman BLONDE specifically??? Like I know why but still, it’d be less aggressively noticeable if they had other features that are notable. off the top of my head, Alyss is tall on top of being blonde. I think some of the ladies have green eyes. but again, SO focused on white features. glaringly, distractingly so.

Btw I’m case anyone but me cares every year mtg arena has a day where they celebrate yargle (a gluttonous frog spirit who’s main claim to fame is his silly name).

And this year they have an event with premade decks featuring yargle, all named after a portmanteau of the color they’re using + yargle. (ie. white + yargle = wargle)
