Mail’s Here :)
She arrived much faster than anticipated, but I bought myself a Webkinz Next French Bulldog! She’s so much bigger than I expected, she’s almost Sunny sized!
Her name is Lis (pronounced like Lee) and, while I don’t know if I plan to join Webkinz Next, I’ve already added her to my Classic family and I’m very excited to welcome her into my home 🧡

The jail my Tumblr is named after. It serves as a display for my dolls to keep them safe from the dogs. The cow and Lil'Kinz poodle are old dolls from an account I no longer have from my childhood and the rest were all bought new with tag for my new account these past two years from thrift shops, feed stores, and online sellers.
Don't worry. They haven't committed crimes... Aside from the Googles, he's wanted for tax evasion.

I regret selling 90% of my Webkinz in my anti-girly phase so bad... I had so many signature and rare ones

I bought some more webkinz at the thrift store today. I got the teacup yorkie (the original, not the Next version) and the reindeer. 😊 I'll post pictures of them after they're all washed.
(also i heard the teacup yorkie is rare.... is that true?)

I feel like Webkinz Next is actually a really cool idea, the biggest issue is just the fact that the graphics are… not good. There’s some really cool concepts introduced in Next, like more types of clothing and new minigames, and breeding pets (like Flight Rising!), the issue is just how uncanny the characters look.
The characters look like they’re from an early CG movie or video game from the early 2000s, but even then there’s some 3D video games from that era that have really good 3D models (I grew up with Toontown and the 3D models in that game are actually really high quality). It just feels like an older game despite having Next in its name, implying it’s something newer.
If the 3D character models didn’t have such an uncanny appearance the game could actually be really good. Unlike Jumpstart, I wouldn’t be against a total redesign of the character models to look less cursed (compared to Jumpstart which made them MORE cursed).
It’s a good concept that’s just held back by its uncanny graphics. The props (eg furniture) and locations look pretty good, it’s mostly the characters that look awkward.
What’s strange is that Amazing World was also fully 3D but had really good graphics, maybe the two games were made by different teams? I miss Amazing World :( maybe it’ll get a Rewritten someday?
