today's ceramics development: full fifteen-piece doll-sized tea set (and also hedgehogs)

#em's adventures in the ceramic bowl mines #most of the tea set is wheel-thrown! I did it with a toothpick and popsicle stick instead of normal tools! #forgot to put something for scale here but the hedgehogs are maybe 2.5 inches long? #so that should give an idea on the size of the tea set #anyway my back and neck hurt SO so so so so much now and I am In Need of a Break Lasting Perhaps Forever

I got ambitious and decided that this piece was going to be a Scylla and Charybdis piece!

I couldn’t find any recovered relics that depicted Chatybdis so I kinda had to go off images I found on YouTube. Though I think she looks pretty good!

The based of the vessel is wheel thrown with pulled handles. I covered the piece in handmade terra sigillata I made myself, the details are all painted on with Amaco obsidian and snow glazes. The white/snow glaze is covered with wax resist to make the painting easier on me, that’s why it looks yellow.
