Angel Whumpees

(tw: ritual torture, amputation, cults)

Hello. Please imagine an angel whumpee being held captive by a cult who uses their celestial powers for evil rituals.

Like, chaining Whumpee to an alter by their wings. Maybe even cutting off their wings so they can't get away. Maybe the process for draining their power is really painful. Maybe Whumpee screams until their voice is hoarse praying to their god for help but divine intervention never comes.

Whumpee's halo is the only point of light in the cult's lair, and it fades every day. Their wings, if they still have them, are dirty and bloodstained. They want to die - to rejoin their god - but the cult won't allow them to.

It's about the combination of pain from the torture and also religious guilt from knowing that their power is being used for evil and also fear that their god hates them now.

And if angel whumpee ever gets out they're crawling, exhausted, to the nearest temple and collapsing on its steps, hoping that the people inside can still recognize them for what they are.

I need to see more unstable Whumpers. I don’t mean in the “Ahh I’m so crazy and sadistic I’m going to chop off all your limbs and yell at you for no reason because I’m so emotional and violent rahhh” (Even though I also love that trope)

I’m talking about Whumpers who are just as scared as Whumpee is. Ones who struggle to express their feelings. All they do is hurt people. When they’re just so desperate for something to call their own, something that can give them that unconditional love that no one gives them— Especially when there used to be someone a long time ago that did but the pain from that person leaving has made them so closed off. When they’ve become so isolated that can’t even look at Whumpee, much less touch them (But there are nights when Whumpee wakes up to feel a shaky, tentative hand resting on their back.) I’m talking about the kind of Whumpers who went through some stuff. The kind that wake up screaming after another nightmare and Whumpee knows that in a few minutes they’ll come to take that pain out on them. There are probably so many more examples but god do I love unstable Whumpers <3

ok so basic idea, whenever whumpee got sick whumper would punish them for it, like really bad punishment. so whumpee tries to avoid getting sick at all costs just to avoid it.

But then when whumpee gets rescued, and they get sick. They think caretaker will punish them for it, just like whumper. Sorry just thinking about a poor, delirious whumpee frantically begging caretaker not to hurt them. yeah >:3c

whumpee’s who are weak and frail are great and all, but no one stops to think about the ones who are like, way stronger than their whumper’s

the whumpee’s who could easily take down their whumper if they wanted to, but can’t because of physical (handcuffs, rope, etc) or mental restrictions (like whumper is holding their family/friends hostage or something)

idk i think it would make it really interesting, the struggle of knowing that they COULD kill their tormentor, but they can’t.

ok so i'm sorry i've been dead on content, but i just wanted to put this forth

recently i received a sort of fanfic from an anon in my inbox involving my 2 oc's kurai & sihyeon, which i absolutely would have loved to read, but my only problem is that as i progressed reading the fic it got clearer i was reading some really fucked up noncon NSFW. it really grossed me out, first because there were no trigger warnings whatsoever, and it was just really hard to read because im not gonna lie it involved many many triggering topics for me.

i don't intend to kink shame or humiliate NSFW whump enjoyers, but please, if you're going to use my characters for NSFW purposes kindly ask me if i'm comfortable with it AT ALL. there's a reason this blog is labelled SFW.

i think i speak for a lot of people in not just the whump community but also the writing community in general that if you want to use someone's characters in your own fics, as much as we appreciate the love you have for our characters, it's crucial you reach out to the original author regardless of the nature of the content.

Tiny whumpee vs Tiny whumper

Just think about it....

Whumpee and Whumper are both tiny. (Just imagine tiny little whumper equipped with a sewing needle)

Injured Whumpee wanders out into the open, close to collapsing

Regular sized Caretaker gets spooked when finding recent splotches of blood, and traces it back to tiny whumpee

Even better if tiny creatures are fearful of humans, and genuinely believes that the ginormous caretaker has came to reap their soul

Or Tiny Whumper and Tiny Whumpee being put within the same exotic creature aquarium

Perhaps a Tiny Whumper fascinated by human “tools”, they practice and try them out on their fellow tiny creatures. Collecting toothpicks, paperclips, pens, and more.

The evil deeds done between the two are rarely heard or discovered, since they are so small.

A tiny Whumpee so frightened that its fellows will only hurt it that it goes out of its way to instead contact a regular sized caretaker for help

Or 

Tiny Whumper refuses to take part in the dangerous expeditions of scavenging for their own needs, instead they have manipulated Tiny Whumpee to do all the bidding for them

The expeditions are more than the average danger for tiny creatures, especially with the rumored presence of a cat

One day Caretaker’s cat comes indoors, holding a heavily breathing little mass within mouth

Upon it being planted before Caretaker they are appalled to realize what it is

I just finished watching Phantom of the Paradise, a 1974 rock phantom of the opera film. It's fun! And, thanks to it being a phantom film, full of whump. Spoilers ahead!

After Winslow sells his soul to Swan, he discovers (after attempting suicide) that he can't die until Swan dies. The moment Swan bites it, Winslow's injuries will return and he'll die, too. There's a lot of fun torment in the film, but this specifically stuck with me. Imagine the torture potential! You can do anything, it won't stick. Well... it will stick, but only after you're gone, and who cares about that?

It's the final triumph of a whumper, too. Whumpee literally can't survive without them, can't outlive them for a happy ending. It's angst galore! It's a great way to prevent any potential revenge--wouldn't want your precious whumpee dying as well, would you? Or perhaps you would, in a final triumph over whumper before their wounds overcome them.

Phantom of the Paradise is a great film if you want some musical whumperflies from more than what is listed here (I'd recommend watching an uncensored version or a fan edit if you can find it). Definitely worth checking out!

Is it just me or do I hardly ever see prison related whump? I feel like the most I’ve seen is a detective that teams up with a criminal who has intel on a case or a hero visiting a villain in jail, but I feel like there are an endless number of whump opportunities with a prison setting.

So earlier in art class today, someone drew a characters hands in their pockets and mentioned that hands are really like the ultimate end boss of art, and most of us wholeheartedly agreed. So then, our teacher went ahead and free handed like a handful of hands on the board, earning a woah from a couple of students. So the one from earlier mentioned how it barely took the teacher ten seconds to do what I can’t do in three hours. And you know what he responded?

“It didn’t take me ten seconds, it took me forty years.”

And you know, that stuck with me somehow. Because yeah. Drawing a hand didn’t take him fourth years. But learning and practicing to draw a hand in ten seconds did. And I think there’s something to learn there but it’s so warm and my brain is fried so I can’t formulate the actual morale of the lesson.

I just need to get this off my chest, because its making me feel things on the inside, constantly, and it's getting pretty damn annoying

Ok so in a week, the first episode of the last season of a German crime show is being uploaded (which I'm obviously very excited about), but that's not what I'm going to ramble about :))

There's a website on which you can find what future episodes are going to be about (to a certain extent, of course), and so far the latest episode is called "[characters] death" (this is already upsetting enough for me)

Now, the thing is, I at first skipped the title, because my brain jumped to "... gets shot in front of his house," and I was like, whumppp of my favourite character

Which is exactly my problem: it's my comfort character 🥲, he's the reason I started watching it, and he's only been on the show for one season so far

Which brings me to my next point: why would they actually kill him of before half the season is over, even though no new seasons will be filmed anyway? So far haven't seen anything about the actor wanting to quit (he even posted on IG, with the caption "... we were allowed to film 13 amazing episodes ...") nor would it really be immensely cool/important for the rest of the season('s storyline)

(Plus, the one promo photo shows his colleague immediately by his side (as the alt text describes too), so why would he die?)

By now, my brain is just going in circles, because on one hand, favourite character whump, but also, don't die, no, pleasee don't, I need him

It just doesn't make any sense :((

Let Danny’s Parents Be Criminals

I hate the reveal gone wrong trope in the dpxdc fandom because we know Jack and Maddie end up supporting Danny and Dani in the end. His parents have some major flaws but wanting to torture their actual child isn’t one. What they are guilty of is going way too hard on any plan they cook up without thinking of the consequences.

If I were writing a dpxdc fic and I wanted Danny in adoptable status I’d just have Jack and Maddie in jail on charges of domestic terrorism after they killed off GIW agents and destroyed the GIW’s bases. They realized their ghost kids were in potential danger and went at the government the same way they went at ghosts, guns blazing and with reckless driving.

They end up in federal prison and they Vlad wins custody cause he’s rich and there is your runaway Danny plot starter.

Whump Drabble: Weather Pains

Okay so one of my favorite whump tropes that I don't see a lot of is weather pains; like when an old scar, injury, or worn joint decides to turn painful because of sharp weather changes and harsh weather.

This can be caused for a variety of reasons, and many different physical conditions and ailments, arthritis for one is well known. But I especially love when it's the result of a healed injury. Whumpee's pain just can't leave them alone. It even follows them into the future.

Imagine a leader, hero, or villain character going no show. A character dips in to check on them to find them deeply sore, and/or immobile from the pain. Imagine the character trying to play it off cool, but it's so obvious that they're in a real deal of pain.

Imagine whumpee getting surprised when someone comes to rub the wound, or start a warm bath. Maybe whumpee is toch starved and this is how that journey begins.

How bout' a whumpee staring out at the dark clouds, dreading what they know will be following. So they prep their livingspace for just that. What about a whumper going through it too. Whumpee beginning to notice whumper's disadvantage in certain weather conditions. Imagine whumper having whumpee rub their pack, or help soothe the pain.

And the pain itself. It's an aching deep to the bone. Sometimes it's just the wound, sometimes it's a little sore, sometimes the entire skeleton aches. If fever and chills join it then whumpee's very sick, but they fail to notice because of the weather.

And my personal favorite, the ex-whumpee. Imagine they're aching and hurting so bad that they reluctantly get their friend to rub a spot on their back. Imagine that friend's face when whumpee's back is coated in long healed scars
