Royal residence is a modern black house located in a forest near #portland, Oregon designed by architecture studio William Kaven Architecture. At the end of a long, sinuous road elevated high above the city in Portland’s beloved Forest Park, the Royal residence is perched elegantly at the coveted ecotone of forest and city along Royal Boulevard. Enter through a dramatic foyer with clerestory windows into the main living area, which features white oak floors with dark walnut inlay borders, a substantial wood-burning hearth, and a kitchen lined with custom-designed, handcrafted oak cabinetry. Floor-to-ceiling glass and wall-to-wall sliding doors seamlessly extend living into the forestscape, giving way to expansive terraces and unobstructed views of the natural flora cascading down to the valley floor. William / Kaven's new Oregon residence among 2020 Architecture MasterPrize winners

William / Kaven Architecture has been awarded a 2020 Architecture MasterPrize for Royal, the first in a series of homes to be developed on a parcel of woodland at the edge of Portland's Forest Park that is owned by William / Kaven and associated partners.

Royal includes four bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, common areas with open floor plans and an oversized garage. Hiking trails surround the home, further connecting residents to the surrounding landscape, something already emphasized through the structure's floor to ceiling glass walls.

The Architecture MasterPrize celebrates design excellence and innovation from architectural, interior, and landscape design disciplines. Other recipients of this year's MasterPrize for Architecture include Tadao Ando, Kohn Pedersen Fox, Vo Trong Nghia, Gensler, Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, Hopkins Architects, and Da Costa Mahindroo Architects.

With all her power because nearly all her strength was reduced from the mithril and adamantine as she roared in pain. This was the end of an archangel, demigod, god, & titan. This was the end of Alexander Mack Smith/Alexandria Macy Smith and Laurissa Owen Jones.  “Alexander/Alexandria I am sorry,” said Laurissa,” but it’s the only way.” “That thing is too strong.” “We can’t win this battle.” “Do it Lori.” “I will hold it off.” “I will buy you time.” While Alexander/Alexander kept it busy Laurissa Owen Jones prepared a spell. Followed by deafening silence. At the funeral for them for their sacrifice, at their military funeral buried with full honors, a ballad was sung. Monuments were erected everywhere for them. They were erected in Themyscira, in the Empire of Atlantis, in the halls of the Greek and Roman Mount Olympus. Alexander/Alexandria when he/she/they passed away impacted so many in the Indigenous community. This is because he/she/they are seen as an elder to many of the two spirit or mahu or in the middle preteen, teenage, & young adult members of the elites or paragons who are disconnected displaced diaspora. So when Alex/Lexi passed away it affected Indigenous families, nations, tribes & clans across the universe knowing that their champion and hero was gone. The death of a mahu or in the middle elder is heartbreaking to Indigenous communities of Turtle Island and Indigenous communities of Moana, Pasifika, or Oceania. It’s a tragedy when an elder or kupana dies so much so that many in the Indigenous community take a year-long oath to not mention their name. He/she/they didn’t believe anyone would notice them being gone.  In Indigenous communities the monuments will sometimes be made of those who consent to their image being erected after their death. For the sake of remembering them respectfully with their consent like the Sitting Bull who consented to such vs Crazy Horse who believed images of him would trap his spirit. A monument and memorial was built for him/her/them. It was a 4d holographic statue showing Cardinal Changeling or Scarlet Shapeshifter as a shapeshifter, metamorph, & changeling shapeshifting from their gender forms. This was to show him/her/them as someone mahu or in the middle with a male and female spirit. This was showing the pride that he/she/they felt about his/her/their cultural identity and gender identity. The focus on his/her/their figurine wasn’t on absolute superficial demonstrations of power and strength. Scarlet Shapeshifter is extremely strong and powerful.
