Hooray for being your biggest fan then! 😁And oh noooooo 😭 I guess I guessed wrong about your fave! Now that you mention it, you do have a few of Emmet fanfiction out there. He's very cool and heroic in your "I wish" series. With the blue eyes, he must have been such a commanding, fiery badass! And it was a dream come true when Ingo got to finally be Zekrom though to match! (I really liked Reshiram!Emmet with Arceus!Volo. They make for a pretty pair with Emmet saving Volo like that. Swoon!)

Hello again, biggest fan~!

Ah, Emmet from the 'I wish' series... (aka my first edition of the smiley boi). I'm sure my preferences were made obvious by how I just wanted him to be awesome af in that story. And yay, Ingo gets to Zekrom things up afterwards! (Though it's a shame that I wasn't able to go in-depth as to how that happened... my creative juices for that just kinda ran out and I wanted to work on other stuff.)

...Said 'other stuff' actually being 'Ingo in Wonderland', but it took a while to get to that point. Interestingly, when I first considered writing something for submas (and also for the first time in my life), Wonderland was my very first concept. Of course, as ambitious as it was as far as pokemon knowledge and storyline was concerned, it wasn't feasible at the time. (I believe I wrote the first two chapters way back in June 2022!) So 'I wish for truth' became my debut fic of *moderate* length, and then came 'Conductor of Stone' which snowballed into the Crystal Conductors AU, and then came a bunch of other things before I could finally get to making Wonderland a reality. (and even then, I kept posting other stories in between... whoops!)

(My rambling aside, Reshiram!Emmet and Arceus!Volo do make a pretty pretty pair! I wanted to go for a non-toxic relation between the two because at that point I had only seen dark angsty stuff involving them. And thematically, Volo is the 'wisher' while Emmet is the 'truth' so there's just this noice *chemistry* there.)

Ask-thepokethieves and ask-wishfulcreation are two blogs I find myself on a lot. Pixel-Styx's style is just so pleasing to look at, especially the eyes and he writes a lot too- As a lover of Big Lore Dumps I absolutely LIVE for those paragraphs on the pokethieves blog!! The way they draw Arceus has definitely influenced my own artwork and Wisher is just...Baby, I love them. My favourite character of theirs is probably Briggs from ask-thepokethieves!

because she can manipulate probability, time, matter and the laws of the natural world among other things to a certain extent, cynthia used to be sought after to grant wishes. people flocked to her thinking she was some sort of miracle worker who could grant them anything they wanted, even hailing her as a vessel of arceus (oh, the irony) who could bend the universe to her will. and for a time, she did give them what they asked…

until the wishes became outrageous. some people would ask her to make their team the strongest in the world, or get revenge on people for the pettiest reasons, or make them the most attractive and smartest person on earth--that kind of shit. at first she just turned them down and sent them away, but after a while, she got an idea. when these assholes started forking over their cash, thinking she could be bribed into doing anything they wanted her to, she would take their money…and then find loopholes in their words to fuck them over. 

those who asked to be “the most beautiful” were indeed made the most beautiful…by garbodor standards. those who asked to have the strongest teams were given the strongest teams, but then they later turned on their masters and left them with permanent injuries. those seeking revenge on people who did nothing wrong soon found the consequences they attempted to impose imposed on them. people started having lawyers write their wishes in order to avoid this. she outwitted them all.

sometimes, bad people are stupid enough to say that they’d be willing to pay any cost in order to have their wish fulfilled--or stupid enough to let her write the magically binding contract in the language of the gods (to make it “more official”). as a result of this, she has owned the souls of dozens of people. she let most of them go because they learned their lesson, but it’s been decades for some of the people under her thumb and they’re still the same assholes that they were when they took her false deals. this means that when they die, they’re going straight to the distortion world, where they will further be trapped until they commit to changing and growing. it could be as short as a few months before they wake up, or it could be as long as an eternity. only time will tell.

why did she do this? because she was just so fed up with the ratio of shitty people asking for absolute BS to good people who just wanted a bit more in their lives to get by. simply turning away the people that she saw had wicked souls wasn’t getting them to stop, so she decided that by imposing consequences on the wicked, they would stop coming to her. the problem is, bad people are usually completely unaware that they are bad, so that didn’t work either. eventually she just got so goddamn tired of cursing people and stealing their souls that she just went “fuck it” and closed up shop. to this day she refuses to grant wishes, no matter how much the wisher might need it.
