With her and Bo working together, they can do a lot... and that's why the Empire will absolutely not allow either of them to become leader of Mandalore again. (So it goes to Korkie, who the Empire believes is little more than a puppet. They think they know about his little violations of the law, and so they miss the big ones, like smuggling force-sensitive children and O66-survivors away from the Empire.)

She doesn't know Obi-Wan is alive, because Bail forgot to get permission to tell her, until 10 years post-RotS... when Bail invites her to greet "Ben" and Leia on their return to safety on Alderaan. She promises to visit him, if there's a chance.

She still doesn't pick up a blaster, though; canon gives us some pretty solid evidence for her PTSD preventing her from being any use at it. However, she's very convincing and is very good at getting on-the-fence politicians on the Rebellion's side... and donating credits, rations, and transports to the cause. (Some even donate weapons. She... tries to ignore that part. She lets it happen, but... it hurts.)

how did kuvira become the great uniter?

The Great Uniter—a title that was once revered by many, now feared by many; it was a title that wasn’t given to her by the world leaders to add some flair nor was it something she decided to call herself from the very moment she stepped out of Zaofu. Kuvira’s reasoning for leaving Zaofu wasn’t for power, but she had the power to do something while knowing choosing not to do anything would make you just as bad the Earth Queen and the Red Lotus who were major factor points in all the chaos that was running rampant throughout the Earth Kingdom. She could no longer sit by and watch things literally go up in flames, choosing to save those who don’t have the power to save themselves and it is selfish to look the other way.

It is why she left Zaofu, along with a handful of people who shared similar views. She no longer cares what Suyin thinks because she’s someone with the power and status to do away the damage, someone who always talked big about how much she hate the monarchy but never once did anything. The respect she had for Suyin was no more.

After Kuvira stabilized Ba Sing Se, where driving out remaining agents of the Red Lotus and stabilizing the capital took months, her next plan of action was to travel to another place that may need her help before she was eventually approached by the world leaders who had heard what she had down, offering her the position Suyin refused to take. Kuvira accepted of course, with all the newly found resources in her hands, she can do so much more to help all those that are in need. Though, she has also been tasked to unite the Earth Kingdom with a project that became known as the unification campaign; that plan has never been part of her cause, but it was a task she accepted as well since the Earth Kingdom have always been divided and perhaps what her nation always needed was to be united as one. Perhaps, then and there, they can finally take the first step to a brighter future.

Words of her actions quickly spread where she, at first, became known as “the woman with the piercing eyes and fearsome eyebrows.” by many who crossed her way but not many were convinced at first, after all, she was an experience young woman who never saw real battle; not to mention she was Suyin’s protégé who lived most of her life in Zaofu, safe under the metal domes while the rest of the Earth Kingdom suffers every day and living in the fear of roaming bandits. Kuvira held her head up high every time she hears those words, despite the fact that she lived her earlier years in poverty and in a village that no longer exists.

The people’s views of her changed when she moved down to Omashu, joining forces with others and leading them all to takedown a tyrannical king that’d become paranoid over the years where he started to lock his own people up who spoke out against him or putting them to death without a trial. Once the king has been permanently removed and liberating Omashu, Kuvira earned the people’s respect and the city-state became one of her biggest backers.

By the end of the first year of the unification campaign, Kuvira’s deeds continued to spread and all those who doubted her began following her behind once her success continued to grow. She earned the people’s respect and loyalties where many proudly waved her banner and sang her name in songs which is where the title “The Great Uniter” came to be. And it was a name she held with great pride for it was - is - one of the greatest gift she had ever received.

Basic human compassion??????? #the dinosaurs barely existed and barely registered in a compelling way but why should that matter #lol #no really. when your story is about adam driver trying to take care of and communicate with a little girl #who doesn’t speak the same language as him and is lost and traumatized #and then in doing so is also cared for #like. the movie is about grief! #and that thread is consistent all the way through. they hit all the beats #and when she reaches for his (ridiculously oversized) hand at the end as they leave earth #it’s just like. right. they made it through #anyway it’s about fathers and daughters #(they kind of low-key didn’t need his real daughter tbh. the story would have worked even more stripped down) #(but as Nina correctly pointed out the audience would not have been able to as comfortably interpret the fact that this relationship #was fathers and daughters #also like !!!!! there were so many real moments #like when she ran back to save the struggling baby dinosaur and he was like NO but then came and helped her anyway #and when she made him put the flower in his hair #and when he was about to drown in quicksand or whatever and she finds the tree branch #they were equally matched and beautifully acted #and the dynamic was inherently father and daughter. and not all the easy parts!!!!!! #when she was scared after being dragged all over the place by that evil dinosaur he had to sit there and wait for her #and draw her out with the sound signal and just. Be patient! #and when she was mad about her grief he had to make himself share his #anyway sorry for all the spoilers it was just good #65 #adam driver

i've seen comments about airi not being the "true" savior because of makia reincarnated from earth which counts her as "from another world" which is kind of true, but ultimately false.

#because although makia and thor reincarnated from kazuha and tooru #their souls *aren't* originally from that world. only airi is. #makia and thor. kazuha and tooru. all of them are scarlet and black's reincarnations respectively who are from the world of maydare #the savior is said to be 'from another world' and as of now that applies to tanaka airi ONLY #we don't know about kanon that much but irc the hero was said to be from another world as well? i don't remember #anyway i really like that they didn't do a 'makia was the savior all along because she was from earth too!' but instead makia was a savior #in a way that isn't 'destined to save the world' but in a way that she manage to reach out to people's hearts and help them #as what airi said kazuha was like an angel that saved her #it was also accordung to her that makia is like the true main character in which she is. but savior =/= protagonist. #airi is still pretty much the savior in title and she's now acting on her part. she still have powers that of a savior. #she's still very much the vessel needed to eliminate harm. there's gonna be a great war not just between #hermedes vs ruschia & frezier and the rest of maydare's countries #but also between the 10 great magicians from history that came back once again..... i think. airi's role is gonna be essential for both. #airi plays an important part and not just her! gt9 as well! frey as a prince of ruschia and makia as a guardian and as the scarlet witch.. #lapis as a (basically) military personnel and a twilight mage for frezier empire #and lastly nero as the hermedes empire's last royalty and as queen shatoma frezier's ally #all of them play an important role #gilbert also! not just as the prince that's basically handling every work in the castle because ulysses is lune ruschia's professor and #the white sage's reincarnation and frey who was stripped from every right he have as a prince— ahem! gilbert not just as a prince but also #as a guardian. oh and sir lionel the vice captain of the royal knights and a guardian ig there's nothing really remarkable about him aside #from those. and yeah thor since he's not just a guardian but also one of the big three magicians #genuinely why are the guardians so boring the only one that isnxt is makia granted cuz she's the mc but also airi those two are the only #enjoyable ones. gilbert is slowly growing on me tbh. who knows maybe sir lionel's gonna have an arc where i'd like him #thor i swear i don't hate you and i even liked you but you're never gonna outrank gt9 airi and even beatrice #sylhea talks maydare
