Let's talk flip a coin 'verse because I finally figured out what's going on with Takeshi in this world and there's no way any of it is gonna make it into the current (or even the next, probably) instalment but I need to write it down somewhere:
Takeshi is born to a super father with a reputation dangerous enough that when he lays down his sword for the sake of his family, no one is willing to provoke him into picking it back up again, and a civilian mother with a sharp tongue and a kind smile.
But what defines Takeshi's life more than his parents' happy marriage and calm, largely uneventful life is that he is born human.
It's rare for a child of a super to not be super as well. Rare but not impossible. And if Tsuyoshi breathes a sigh of relief at the revelation, well, a father can be forgiven for not wishing to burden his child with the bloodshed he carries in his veins.
[For the Yamamotos are gifted killers, always have been. What few people ever have paid enough attention to realize is that gifts aren't genetically inherited and yet every Yamamoto proves himself capable beyond what a super's enhanced abilities can explain and so maybe gift has never been the right word for it.]
"Be sure, very sure of what you do before you father a child," Tsuyoshi's father told him back when he was young and far too confident, high on the bloodlust that lives in his heart. "Blood wins out. They'll be a natural born killer and no lie you tell yourself will change that."
But Takeshi is as human as they come and Tsuyoshi thanks the gods every day for the miracle they have granted him, a loophole he hadn't known he was searching for.
Takeshi is seven years old on the way back from the grocery store with his mother when they get accosted by three robbers. He is seven years old when he grabs a small stone from the ground and throws it with deadly accuracy at one of the man's heads.
Takeshi is seven years old the first time he kills someone.
[They'll be a natural born killer, whispers Tsuyoshi's father into his mind that night and who says that humans can't be monsters too?]
It's a game Takeshi has been playing for as long as he can remember: look at a person he crosses on the street, a classmate, a customer of his parents and figure out the easiest way to kill them. He doesn't, of course, because his mother doesn't like the sight of blood and his father always says that murder is a cheap cheatcode and Takeshi doesn't like to cheat. But.
It takes effort, is the thing. Not killing doesn't come natural to him.
After middling through highschool Takeshi gets a job as a salesman who maybe spends more time terrifying than charming his customers into buying anything they don't need. Only the ones who annoy him though.
[Sometimes he looks at the news playing out on a nearby screen where they show footage of another violent battle between Vongola Inc.'s forces and a supervillain that went too far and Takeshi watches them. Thinks of how easy it would be to kill that villain and kill them better than the supposed professionals do.]
[Sometimes Takeshi hates being just human.]
Takeshi is twenty-five when his mother is killed in one of the super riots and a paper-thin leash he hadn't even been aware of holding him back snaps for good. He is twenty-five when he meets a man with eyes like cracking flames who gives him something to kill for. But that's a story for another time.

Love in the Time of Zombies
Summary: Nana would never have thought this would one day be her life. If she’s being honest with herself, she expected to spend the rest of her days waiting for Iemitsu’s rare visits, cooking and cleaning and watching her son grow up and eventually leave her alone. But Iemitsu wasn't there when the apocalypse began, and Tsuyoshi was

Tsuyoshi runs a cloth over the blade of his sword, and Nana pours a bottle of handmade sake over the bodies before dropping a match on them. Together, they watch the bodies for any sign of continuing movement until they’re burnt enough to definitely be dead. Tsuyoshi shoulders the bag of flour Sato-san was kind enough to grind for them and takes the fish back from Nana.
Nana would never have thought this would one day be her life. If she’s being honest with herself, she expected to spend the rest of her days waiting for Iemitsu’s rare visits, cooking and cleaning and watching her son grow up and eventually leave her alone. She misses those days a bit. She misses the days when Iemitsu came home for the Summer holidays and they played together as kids more.
Still, she glances towards Tsuyoshi who’s once again lost in thought even as he scans the trees around them. She’s glad to be in the here and now too. “Ara, I wonder what our boys have gotten up to,” she says with a smile.
Ao3
Tsuyoshi looks at her and visibly relaxes a bit. “Knowing Takeshi, they’re still trying to figure out how to play catch in the trees.” They share a laugh. They’d come back to camp countless times to find the boys trying to get the well-worn baseball back off the ground. Nana has no doubt their boys would figure it out one day though.
The walk back to camp passes in silence until Tsuyoshi sighs. “Does it bother you?” he asks, drawing her attention from the path they’ve carved through the grass. “That Tsuna calls me ‘Tou-san’?”
Nana blinks. “Why would it bother me?” She looks forward again. “Takeshi calls me ‘Mama’.” Adjusting her grip on the basket, she takes Tsuyoshi’s hand and steps over the fallen log.
“That’s different. His mother…” is dead, went by Okaa-san, would never resent Nana for calling Takeshi her own. All these things hang between them. Tsuyoshi shakes his head. “Tsuna has a Tou-san,” he finishes.
“He barely remembers Iemitsu.” And doesn’t that burn just a bit? Two of the most important people in her life and neither have more than a few memories of each other. “That doesn’t change the fact that he has a father.”
“Iemitsu didn’t come running with enough supplies for four and sword in hand when zombies started roaming the town!” Nana snaps. She spins around into Tsuyoshi’s path and stops right in front of him. She shoves the completely illogical, but still there, pain that Iemitsu wasn’t the one to do so. He wasn’t even in Japan when the world went to hell, and after the airports and docks closed, there was no way for him to reach them, assuming he was even alive. “Why now? Why ask now? Why not three years ago when we started calling them ‘our boys’? Why not two years ago when they crawled into bed, our bed, Tsuyoshi, because they were having nightmares? Why not last year when I told Takeshi-kun he could call me ‘Mama’? Why not six weeks ago when Tsu-kun finally called you ‘Tou-san’?”
She’s crying. The tears don’t stop coming down no matter how many times she wipes her cheeks with her free hand. Her chest heaves, and her nose is stopping up. Tsuyoshi pulls her into his chest, keeping the fish from pressing into her back. His breath blows across her the top of her hair as he waits, always waiting, always patient. She loves him for that.
“Tsuyoshi,” she whispers. “I love my husband just like you love your wife. That’s never going to change.” Nana pushes back against his chest enough to meet his eyes. “But he isn’t here, perhaps forever, and Tsu-kun and I have plenty of room in our hearts for you and Takeshi-kun.”
“Nana-”
Nana puts a finger on Tsuyoshi’s lips, silencing his protest before it can even start. “If we can love two people at once, why can’t Tsu-kun love two fathers at once?”
They stand there for a moment, silent, and looking into each other’s eyes. Tsuyoshi sighs, shoulders slumping just a bit. Nana pulls her hand away, but Tsuyoshi catches it and kisses her palm. He holds it to his face for another moment longer before breathing, “I love you, Nana-san.”
Nana stretches up on her toes and kisses the tip of Tsuyoshi’s nose. A faint blush stains her cheeks, and she smothers the urge to giggle like a schoolgirl having her first crush. “I love you too, Tsuyoshi-san.”
When they finally get back to camp, their boys leap from the trees with happy cries. They hold a baseball high in the air as they charge across the grass, yelling all about how they finally figured out a way to get the ball back off the ground. Slamming into their parents who laugh, they hug them tightly.
Nana and Tsuyoshi meet each other’s eyes over the tops of their sons’ heads. They smile.
“Ara, who’s going to help Tou-san with the fish and who’s going to help Mama with the herbs and berries?”
“Me!” The boys yell, running off towards the firepit.

☀️ Hello Everyone!!! ☀️
Welcome to KHR COLLECTION!
Tumblr media
This is just a big catalogue of REBORN! goods that I’m slowly scanning and photographing from my own collection.
My goal is to become the DARIO CALABRIA of REBORN! merchandise 😅
I used *FANON SHORTHANDS* to tag characters
You can view the guide for them down below :)
Little fun fact (not really 😅), using the guide I made up some #s/SHs for certain characters who don’t have one
Tsuyoshi (Yamamoto’s Dad) doesn’t have a shorthand so I took the Tsu and Yo from his name to make 24 [Tsu = 2 and Yo = 4 (from Yon) || Dr. Shamal = DR || Leon is 0 (Leon pronounced Reon ~ Rei = 0) || Hibird = HI || Gola Mosca = 5 || Skull = SK || Lampo = LA || Adult Reborn = OR (Otona Reborn) || Falco = Fal

I spin off exploring Yamapapa’s past… I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s thought of this before or thought of him extensively in general. He’s such an interesting character and there’s so much to explore there!!! We need more of him 😭
Why/when did he start learning to use the sword? Why did he stop? What was his master like? Why did he become a sushi chef? So! Many! Questions!
-R
Okay, so I struggled a little bit to answer this, but not because I don't have the ideas. I have so, so many ideas and thoughts and love for this man. I actually struggled because, all things willing and if I allow myself the time, not only will you guys all actually see this written as an actual 'light novel' style format (without the pretty pictures, unless I can start affording commissions), but you'll have most of it, if not all of it, by the end of 2025, along with similar 'Secret Bullet' side-novels, all in varying stages of completion, written by me (so not at all officially canon) for Shamal's past, and the Arcobaleno's pasts, the lead up to that fateful day they became Arcobaleno's, and the direct aftermath of that for each of them. Those are all projects, along with some self-indulgent stuff I want to work on with OC's and self-inserts and just fun little things over the next couple years. So when answering this, I kind of wanted to cover everything but also kind of just wanted to go bare basics so you guys wouldn't be too spoiled. I kind of tried to hit a happy medium and hope you enjoy the headcanons I did provide.
First off, let's go with the obvious. For any of you wondering how you should go about picturing younger Tsuyoshi...there's really a huge father-son resemblance. Tsuyoshi looked a lot like Yamamoto does currently, except a little broader and with a bit sharper of features.
That's not the only similarity between father and son though. Tsuyoshi even acts a lot like his son does during the actual manga. Growing up, he was sociable, friendly, good-natured, seemingly laid back with a hidden very serious side, athletic and honestly, he was always popular with not only his peers but the adults around him as well, who always commented on what a nice boy he was.
He comes from a good home, with two happily married parents who love him and support his interests and hobbies. His family isn't rich, but they're not poor either. His love of cooking was actually fostered from a young age. His mother's dream had always been to open a noodle shop of her own and his father also enjoyed cooking, so it became a family affair that Tsuyoshi was allowed to join in on as soon as his little hands were able to actually be put to good. Cooking the family meals together and then sitting down to enjoy their hard work are some of Tsuyoshi's favourite childhood memories, to be honest.
I do think, around the age of five, that Tsuyoshi was blessed with a little sister who he really doted upon. They had a real strong bond and that was, for all extents and purposes, his best friend, even while he had many other friends.
I think Tsuyoshi gained an interest in kendo around that age too and he really threw himself into the sport, practicing and training in it for years. He wasn't fantastic at first but he really pushed himself, much like his son does with baseball, and he genuinely loved doing so. With his hard work, dedication, and natural athleticism, he really did hone his skills and was winning championships within his first couple years of the sport.
This really continued up until he was in middle school, when an incident with his sister being caught up in some bullying Tsuyoshi was receiving from those jealous of his success in a kendo tournament happened. His sister was gravely injured, to the point she was hospitalized with a severe concussion, among some other lighter physical injuries, that resulted in some permanent memory issues and a slight speech impediment. Of course, the speech impediment and memory issues led to her getting bullied by classmates afterwards and moving forward and his formerly super-cheerful and perky sister started to become depressed.
I think that's what really drove Tsuyoshi to want to study the sword more seriously. While he had thought his kendo skills enough to really protect those precious to him, he'd experienced first hand that they really weren't enough. He wanted....no, he needed, to gain enough power to protect those he loved if anything were to ever happen again.
I think it was his former kendo teacher who really introduced Tsuyoshi to the woman who would become his master. The former generation's Shigure Soen Ryu successor and the creator of the Shibuki Ame, she saw Tsuyoshi's earnestness, his resolve, and his good heart and took him into her school.
I think she was a very strict teacher, but also incredibly fair. She did genuinely care for and, in her own way, deeply respect and love every single one of her pupils. While she pushed them hard, wasn't hesitant at all to attack them pretty harshly while training, and demanded improvement and dedication, she also would take extra time to help anyone who was struggling, would offer counsel and words of wisdom. She also didn't mind Tsuyoshi's sister often tagging along to her brother's practice sessions, since Tsuyoshi hoped it would cheer her up.
It's in this school that Tsuyoshi realizes that he's actually incredibly gifted, quite naturally so, in the use of a sword and he quickly makes a name for himself. Not only that, but he quickly finds himself popular among the students. That is, of course, nice, but Tsuyoshi also goes out of his way to befriend the one student nobody else seems to like. The previously best student, the boy is more shy, almost anxious about talking to people, and suffers from some self-esteem issues he hides behind bravado and harsh words. Of course, all that effort to hide those bad feelings behind those kind of things doesn't exactly endear him to the other students, who only see the front he puts on. Tsuyoshi gets to know him better and the two become fast friends and friendly rivals. A girl from the class (who will later on become Tsuyoshi's bride) rounds out the foursome of Tsuyoshi, his sister, his rival, and this girl. They really spend a lot of time together, become the closest friends all the rest have.
That rivalry though...it starts to get less and less friendly as time goes on, especially when the two are chosen as the potential successors to Shigure Soen Ryu. By that time, there are also other bad feelings festering on the side of Tsuyoshi's rival. See, not only is he always feeling inadequate to Tsuyoshi, but Tsuyoshi has started dating the other girl, spending most of his time with her, and his rival and best friend is feeling left out. Add to that the rival's long-standing love for Tsuyoshi's sister, which he has confessed to her numerous times, to always get rebuffed. The rival really blames Tsuyoshi for that too, thinking that he's poisoning his sister against the rival (and in some ways, he's not entirely wrong, as Tsuyoshi is an overly protective big brother and does see some troubling things in his friend that, though he loves the boy like a brother, he doesn't feel would be well suited for a man worthy of dating his sister).
It culminates in Tsuyoshi getting handed his master's Shigure Kintoki before the rival does, getting the chance and the master's confidence in him becoming the official successor.
That's right...while a lot of people have the friend Tsuyoshi is saving during that typhoon as the other potential successor, and I've worked myself with that idea before and see a lot of merit and potential in it, I really see it the opposite. His rival and former best friend is the person he's protecting his friend from during that typhoon.
His best friend. His flesh and blood. And his friend turned more. All three had been coming from the school, located in the mountains and quite the walk for them, when the typhoon really starts to get insanely bad. The rival had been waiting and ambushes them.
I won't go into all the details but I will say Tsuyoshi's sister...she doesn't make it out of that fight and Tsuyoshi walks out of that fight not only knowing that, despite becoming the official successor during it, he had not only failed to save his best friend but he had taken the life of another friend. He'd failed in all his goals in taking up the sword and defiled its purpose to protect by taking a life.
Though Tsuyoshi still holds the sword in high regard and still knows that Shigure Soen Ryu is invincible, flawless, and perfect, he feels he's too dirty in some ways to hold Shigure Kintoki. It rests in a closet in his house for the longest time as he finds other ways to live his life, to continue on. While he battles his own demons, his girlfriend stays by his side, supports him, and her love really does keep him from going too off the rails. She gives him something to initially live for.
After graduating middle school, he gets a job in a sushi restaurant instead of going into high school where he really finds a new interest and passion for making sushi. He studies under the restaurant's itamae until he reaches that rank too. By that time, his girlfriend has become his bride.
Tsuyoshi opens his own restaurant on the same day he finds out he's going to become a father.

Summary:
In the distant past, the Guardian of the Milky Way galaxy named Lanancuras began to harbor a desire for more power. Because of his connection to the galaxy, he was able to absorb parts of planets and add them to his strength. As a result, he began invading the worlds he was assigned to protect. In the wake of his destruction, a following of creatures from across the galaxy pledged allegiance to Lanancuras and became known as the Kadrians. Taking notice of his ever-growing power and followers, the other Celestial Guardians confronted him; however, he had become too powerful, and they were defeated. Unable to subdue Lanancuras, the Celestial Guardians each gave up a part of their power and combined it into a single new Guardian, Mushra. In a final desperate attempt, they used Mushra's core by transforming it into a powerful card with which to seal Lanancuras in a prison. The prison was created from the remains of planets that had suffered under Lanancuras' tyranny. Because planets are themselves large beings, their combined strength (along with the power of the card) was able to restrain him. Thus Lanancuras was successfully sealed in a large meteorite.
The meteorite was sent off into the galaxy to be sealed forever. Meanwhile, the way Lanancuras had increased his strength had consequences on the planets of the Milky Way On Earth, around the 22nd century, it was in the shape of a virus that merged with human DNA and destroyed the humans that way. In order to eliminate the virus, scientists worked on combining human DNA with the DNA of animals and other creatures immune to the effects. They succeeded and created a sentient race known as Enterrans (a race of engineered Earthlings) which are based on humans, insects, reptiles, birds, sea creatures, wild beasts, and phantom beasts. Eventually, a cure was found and the human race survived.
However, due to Lanancuras' influence, the Enterrans fought their human creators as well as the robots that worked with the humans, driving the human race to a near extinction state. Luckily, a scientist named Dr. Daigo Tatsuro placed his 4-year-old daughter Yakumo in a sleep chamber in hopes that she would save the human race and find the human sanctuary Shinzo and bring peace back to Earth which was then renamed to Enterra. When the meteor that Lanancuras was imprisoned in struck Earth during the earlier parts of the Human-Enterran War, its fragment had struck an infant Yakumo giving her abilities that she would later discover.
