Great jōyō kanji name today! 安面 is generally read Anmen, sometimes Yasumo.

安 means relax, rest, content, peaceful, quiet, cheap, or low. It's read yasu (yasu.i, yasu.maru, yasu.raka) or an. It’s made up of two components: 宀 roof and 女 woman.

面 means mask, face, features, surface, or aspect. It's read omo, omote, tsura, men, or ben (but most often omote or men). It only refers to disguise masks, not to surgical masks (which are マスク masuku).

Also, given the meanings of face/surface, and disguise, you would be forgiven for thinking we're talking omote and ura—the public face that people see, versus the private face kept hidden—but we're not! That omote is 表, which can also mean surface, and which you might recognize from the word 表札 hyōsatsu, meaning nameplate :)

The announcement's original illustrator, Yasumo, and manga artist Masahiro Ikeno (pictured right and above, respectively) created two images.

Winter has come to town as Rit and Red continue to grow closer and they finally reunite with Rutee, as well as her friend, Tiese. I’ve read too many light novels to not be immediately suspicious of little sister characters and their feelings towards towards their brothers but, thankfully, this series seems to not be going down the unrequited incest route so far and I am grateful for that. Rutee is jealous of Rit but that’s more due to the fact that Rit has freedom that the hero is never allowed to have which is far more interesting than incest would have been so good job, Zappon. I haven’t spoken about Tiese much but I like her about as much as I like every other major character in this series. She’s awkward and funny and some of her scenes are delight to read but I’m still getting a handle on her so I can’t talk much about her.

While I do consider this the best volume of the series so far, mostly due to Rutee being the most interesting character in the series so far, I still can’t bring myself to rate this volume higher than a 3 because the series has these really awkward scene transitions that have been there since volume 1. Often, the transitions will change POV characters, location, and time but we’re never given much notice when it happens and it really takes me out of the story because I get confused about who is telling it and where they are telling it. The series is fine but it really needs to make those transitions more reader-friendly because I just can’t get invested in the story when I’m too confused to pay attention.

I probably won’t be reading the 4th volume because I’m just not invested in the story or the characters but I am definitely looking forward to the anime. I think I’ll like this series more in a visual medium and maybe it’ll motivate me to read more.

Banished From The Heroes’ Party, l’anime torna a mostrarsi in un nuovo video

Dopo il posticipo la serie fantasy slice of life andrà in onda da ottobre.

Pubblicato un secondo trailer di “Banished From The Heroes’ Party” (Shin no Nakama janai to Yuusha no Party o Oidasareta node Henkyou de Slow Life Suru Koto ni Shimashita), che fissa il debutto in Giappone della serie animata per il 6 ottobre. Inizialmente l’anime tratto dalla light novel fantasy slice of life di Zappon era atteso per lo scorso luglio.

Il video anticipa brevemente la sigla di testa “Iki o suu koko de suu ikiteku”, cantata da Yui Nishio.

Al cast della serie si aggiungono:

Theodora: Aya Uchida (Kotori Minami in Love Live! School Idol Project)

Danan: Kenta Miyake (All Might in My Hero Academia)

Tise: Rie Kugimiya (Kagura in Gintama)

L’adattamento sta venendo prodotto da WOLFSBANE (Peter Grill to Kenja no Jikan), in collaborazione con STUDIO FLAD (DamePri Anime Caravan). La regia è affidata a Makoto Hoshino (DamePri Anime Caravan, Uta no Prince Sama Revolutions), mentre la sceneggiatura è in mano a Megumi Shimizu (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, King’s Raid: Ishi wo Tsugumono-tachi). Il design dei personaggi è invece curato da Ruriko Watanabe (DamePri Anime Caravan).

Un tempo Red faceva parte della Compagnia dell'Eroe, un potente gruppo destinato a salvare il mondo dalle malvagie forze del Signore dei Demoni Taraxon. Questo fino a quando uno dei suoi compagni non lo cacciò via. Red coglie allora l’occasione di far ritorno alla tranquilla vita di frontiera e decide di aprire una farmacia. Tuttavia, mantenere il segreto riguardo alla propria identità potrebbe non essere così semplice come lui pensa. Il tutto si fa ancora più complicato quando la bella Rit, un’avventuriera conosciuta in passato, si presenta e chiede di andare a vivere con lui!  

La light novel ha fatto il suo debutto online nell’ottobre 2017 e dall’anno seguente viene pubblicata anche in forma cartacea con le illustrazioni ad opera di Yasumo (Farming life in another world, The Brides: The Story of Endenburg Kingdom). Attualmente l’opera conta otto volumi, contando anche il numero 0.

Dal 2018 ne viene serializzata anche una versione manga, disegnata da Masahiro Ikeno (Goblin Slayer: Brand New Day, Sugar Dog), giunta al 6° volumetto.
