Haven’t you learned your lesson yet? No one approaches others without a motive. You always act like you’re so smart, but whenever someone shows you the slightest bit of kindness you follow them like a puppy and end up getting used. You’re such a fool.

I'm on ep. 10 rn, and unless what he said to haeryung was actually about gicheol, I just don't think junmo ever cared for gicheol as friend. None of his actions or monologues indicate it.

ik i'm late LATE to the party but i have sooo many thoughts about the devil judge that i want to write down and i'm only on ep. 5......... first of all the live court show makes me scream i cannot take it seriously. it's VERYY entertaining to watch, that must be said, but umm i feel like i'm betraying all the law school friends i have by watching it ajfjsjdjd it's insane but i love it!!!!! second of all there are many women here so as the spanish idiom goes why does it feel like a turnip field on here <3 and also, the secretary is soooo 💗 she's the mvp :') third (and most alarming) of all: are you telling me that there's people out there sh*pping gaon and yohan knowing that gaon has the same face as yohan's older brother...........? i'm honestly asking. am i insane or isn't that. a bit weird? don't you guys have siblings? :) and speaking of gaon, i don't get him lol. like i know nothing about his character and his development rn but um, i don't really get his relationship with his bestie and why he's insisting on not reciprocating her confessions. i mean do they explain it? is it because he's afraid things will change? is he not ready? what's going on? because it's not cool how he KNOWS but is always like "no 💗". for example, something that stuck out to me was that scene in which he disappeared and when yohan returns his phone to him gaon immediately (!!) calls her & she's all like "omg where are you, gaon are you okay????" and he's like "awww you really missed me? 🤩🥰" or something, and then it cuts to soohyun's response, which is silence! and her staring at nothing like 😐 like of course she was fucking worried dude, why would you ask that? why would she be joking? why are you making her feel like her love for you is not serious enough? i don't get it and i don't like it hehe :) so what i'm getting out of all of this is that every single person in this show needs therapy 💆💗 but it's great so far!!

having actually WATCHED the finale now, i think the end of that episode was clearly set up to for a potential second season (but ambiguous enough that it could be read as an open ending if it had to be) and with that in mind i am less ANGRY, i think there is a lot more than seon-oh’s arc left unfinished and unresolved and the end of this episode makes that feel more intentional and less of an oversight or accident. it’s not what i wanted (for seon-oh or for ME) but i think a lot of my complaints would be resolved with a second season that, unfortunately, i don’t think they will ever get because only five people watched this (and those of us that did? we are, uh, we’re ... um ... how are we feeling??? lmao). 💖
i still need to put together my thoughts, but i’m really happy with the way almost every other character wound up (and the back half of the episode especially was strong), so i’m trying to not be too bitter, but ... seon-oh really carried this show for ten episodes AT LEAST and the fact that we never got to see any resolution to his arc, even if you consider the masked man at the end to be him, feels like such a betrayal. like, literally the only way to fix this is a second season that they announce alongside a confirmation that he’s in the cast -- but after all this, i don’t know if i want to play these mind games again!!!

god WHY is the tdj's dialogue and set up so juicy and incredible???
couple of things to talk through here:
the first scene is the professor scolding gaon for thinking that the trial worked out well. gaon then takes it back and says it's 'not a child's game.' so here we have gaon expressing his honest thoughts and being berated about why it's wrong to think someone got justice in the way they did (nevermind that something was a lil fishy but that ain't the point rn lmao).
then, we have yohan who juxtaposes the professor's beliefs in the following scene. and while gaon probably never believed the trial was a game, it's very interesting wordplay.
yohan's dialogue is so important because even after he says 'it's not a fair game to start with,' he also says that it's full of manipulation and lies......
Which is exactly what the professor did during the basketball game in the scene prior with gaon. he cheats gaon by acting hurt to steal the ball and make a dunk but calls it a fakeout rather than admitting what he's done.
i find it so fascinating how they already insert in the differences between yohan and the professor, the start of the friction as to what will ultimately have gaon questioning everything.
but what i'm most intrigued by is how quickly the professor put gaon's thoughts down and gaon immediately backtracking. such good characterization right there and the insane amount of growth he has by ep 16 where he tells a room full of people his own thoughts and beliefs.

Hiiii🩷🩷 I have a question... does Yohan think that Gaon loves Soo Hyun in a romantic way😳? If so, oh boy thats a huge misunderstanding to clear. Also, thank you for the amazing update!!! I'm sure as hell sticking around on this journey to see these two work out their feelings!!
Hi there! 💜
Yes, he does. Because Yo Han's got no reason to believe otherwise, based on how Ga On is behaving. He can tell that Ga On is attracted to him, sure, but that's physical. And sexual and romantic attraction are two entirely different things. One doesn't guarantee the other and just because you feel one — or even both — you don't actually have to act on it.
I'm more or less writing Yo Han like a bisexual demiromantic, i.e. he's good at recognising sexual tension/attraction but he's not very experienced with love. He's never really been in love before because he's never allowed himself to get close enough to someone to actually fall in love. And when you combine this with his upbringing and lack of social interaction with other people? Love is probably pretty tricky for him.
Not in a "he doesn't feel it" way because he does — and he knows that he does — but he's not the best at reading it in other people. Not at all helped by how he just doesn't get the whole "love at first sight" thing (because, again, demiromantic), which has made him wonder if, just maybe, his concept of love is different from everyone else's. He knows what love means to him and he's seen other people be in love (like Isaac and his wife) but applying that to his and Ga On's relationship is very difficult for him, especially with Soo Hyun complicating things.
Like, if Yo Han tries to compare how Ga On behaved around/treated Soo Hyun (who he assumes Ga On was in love with) to how Ga On behaves around/treats Yo Han, he can see a lot of differences. And it's a problem when his method for figuring this whole situation out is: "That is how Kim Ga On behaves when he's in love and, if he doesn't, he's probably not in love with me." Because that misses the part where people don't always behave the exact same way when they're in love (because it can be influenced by who they're interested in) and, if anything, it should be the other way around.
At this point, it's probably better to look at how Ga On behaves around you, Yo Han, not Soo Hyun, if you want to figure out what he's like when he's in love x'D
... but he doesn't know that, of course.
So, in short: Yo Han knows that Ga On cares about him and he knows that Ga On is sexually attracted to him, but he has no way of knowing if Ga On is in love with him. Yo Han has too little experience with it to be able to gauge that.
But, at this point? He thinks that Ga On is just too in love with Soo Hyun to ever love him (which is what this post was about)
And, in a very heartbreaking way, he's kind of grateful that Ga On made it clear he's not going to act on what's between them because Yo Han assumes it's only sexual attraction and some confused fondness on Ga On's end anyway. And Yo Han would just... rather not if that's all Ga On can give him. Because, for once, he doesn't just want sex — he wants love, too.
... this man is, once again, a goddamn onion.
(and will make you cry just as much as one)
And, for my own sake, I'm going to have to make a detour and write Yo Han's POV of what happens after he's gone into his bedroom because I SWEAR THE FUCKING BASTARD WON'T LEAVE ME ALONE. There is SO MUCH GOING ON in his head and snippets keep inconveniently popping up at irregular intervals, distracting me. And as soon as I push one aside, the next one pops up.
It's like a never-ending game of angsty Whac-A-Mole.
Someone save me.
ANYWAY. I'm glad you liked the update! And thank you so much for wanting to stick around 💜 I was genuinely worried about how you all would react to this chapter. Like, who's insane enough to throw in a rejection 400k into a story? People have probably gotten chased down with pitchforks for less.
So thank you for the trust, support, and dedication — it means a lot to me 💜

favourite things: 2023 edition
last year i made one of these and i thought it'd be fun to make another one. i have a notion spreadsheet with all the media i watch/read/play throughout the year (not just things that came out this year!) and i give them ratings. these are the highs (and some of the lows) of 2023 (not in order).
Games
Tunic - such a great and beautiful game that i do not want to spoil. seriously, play it. if you like zelda, exploration, solving puzzles, and cute little foxes, then it's a must
Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - what can i say, i love a zelda
Portal 2 - just an even more excellent sequel to an excellent game
TV
Alice in Borderland - i didn't know what to expect at first but it was excellent and highly addictive
Not Me - my introduction to thai BL (for better and also definitely for worse lol). anyway this show changed my brain chemistry. it has everything: gays, a twin switch situation, leftism, arson, rooftop kiss... you know
Bad Buddy - speaking of rooftop kisses...... if you know you know. anyway this is also a thai BL and it's still rotating in my brain. i rewatched it almost immediately, that's how good it was
The King's Affection - cheesy historical kdrama about a crown prince who is secretly a woman, with a swoon-worthy romance and political intrigue. this one's for the bisexuals (after all, the male love interest falls in love with the prince before he finds out it's a woman)
Vinland Saga - this anime fucking wrecked me. season 2 had me crying every single episode. thorfinn is my new child and i WILL name my future cat after him
The Devil Judge - a kdrama about a dystopian south korea with a fucked up justice system. anyway kang yohan character of all time. oh and also toxic homosexuality (affectionate)
Books
The Poppy War trilogy by R. F. Kuang - what an excellent series to get me back into fantasy series. it was not without faults, but i was hooked anyway
Babel by R. F. Kuang - i read this brick in 5 days straight. it's beautifully written and has such interesting things to say about language and colonialism. again, it has flaws but i wasn't bothered, i was obsessed with this book
The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon - i didn't realise how much i missed high fantasy until i read this. it has lesbians, dragons, a bitter old homosexual, magic, and did i mention dragons and lesbians?
He Who Drowned the World by Shelley Parker Chan - the sequel to She Who Became the Sun, my favourite book of last year. this sequel fucking DELIVERED. i went insane about it multiple times. it's a must read
Graphic novels/manga
Witch Hat Atelier by Kamome Shirahama - i started this manga 2 years ago, but since it's still ongoing and I've read new chapters this year, it counts for this year as well
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run by Hirohiko Araki - not finished with it yet but it is truly as good as everyone says it is
The Adventure Zone: The Eleventh Hour by the McElroys and Carey Pietsch - i know not everyone likes the taz comics, but i do, i think theyre great adaptations, and this one looked incredible
Movies
Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse - not as good as the first one, but still really good. beautifully animated and extremely entertaining
Bonus: the lowest of the low, titles that earned my 'sucked shit' rating
Theory of Love - amazing that out of the 3 thai BLs ive watched, 2 managed to make it on my favourites list, and one of them was some of the worst television i've ever seen
Where the Crawdads Sing - read the book for book club last year, we all hated it, and now we decided to watch the movie for a laugh. it also sucked

To try and help with the boredom, top ten hottest characters and why in your opinion?
HEY ANON! How about the second I saw this ask I was called into a meeting? 🙄
Top 10 hottest characters? I'm assuming you mean BL characters? If not then just let me know.
Hanabusa Shiro from Kei x Yaku (Do bromances count?) I think it should. Something about Shiro's chaotic bi energy coupled with the fact that he's a young unhinged Yakuza boss makes him so hot. Also, he's gorgeous.
Tumblr media
Teacher Tan from Manner of Death. I find his protective nature very, very attractive, but also how easy going he seemed to be despite being accused of murder by literally everyone including his long-time crush. I also like when he gets angry.
Tumblr media
Porsche from KinnPorsche the Series. The prettiest bodyguard to ever do the job. I loved how he was always up for a fight or a good time depending on the situation. He just had a very sexy energy throughout the series.
Tumblr media
Kaeng from Y-Destiny. Nothing sexier than a slutty boy who knows he's slutty. He was so seductive in his pursuit of Puth, unapologetically of course. He wanted what he wanted.
Tumblr media
Chief Phu from A Tale of Thousand Stars. I found his way of flirting really attractive. It was very old school which fit his character. He was more of a "I can show you better than I can tell you," type of guy and I loved that about him. Also he was daddy af. Les be real.
Tumblr media
Judge Kang Yohan from The Devil Judge. Speaking of daddies. Everything about Daddy Judge was hot. He was insanely intelligent and always 13 steps ahead of everyone. His dominance was overwhelming at points but also he had the ability to be very soft.
Tumblr media
Jin Hong Seok from You Make Me Dance. The strong, silent type. Again, I find the extra protective characters super attractive and he was willing to do just about anything to make sure Si On was happy. Also....when he almost threw that dude over the balcony for hurting Si On?? WHEW!
Tumblr media
Kurosawa Yuuichi from Cherry Magic. He was a classic sort of hot. Smart, charismatic, charming, and nice. Also he was super supportive and attentive and he was truly hubby material.
Tumblr media
Payu from Love in the Air. He's a dom and a bit daddy and also sweet and smart. Sure he was manipulative, but yea I'd fuck with him if he was interested lol....is anyone even surprised to see him on this list?
Tumblr media
Professor Shen Wei from Guardian. I found Professor Shen's entire character hot. He was well dressed. Intelligent and kind but wouldn't hesitate to squash a bitch coming after his beloved soulmate. He was powerful and respected AND LOYAL. 10/10.
Tumblr media
so in conclusion: I like em smart, protective, mildly aggressive, quiet, loyal, slutty, and a bit controlling. LMAO
