The concept for this piece is "the full view of Yurio's taste", but I personally was wondering what Lilia, who is a very strict coach, will think when she sees this program… (laugh).

For me personally the hidden theme for this sound [we were trying to achieve] was 'iconic vintage metal'. For example, assuming Quentin Tarantino were to make a live action adaptation of "Fist of the North Star", something that could be used as a theme song…
At the beginning of the production, we planned to create an instrumental piece, but well, metal needs screaming, so I worked with Steve Mcnair. He has an unbelievably strong throat and his high tone vocals are just amazing… Recording was a lot of fun.
Duetto: "Stammi vicino non te ne andare"

To make this duetto go into a different direction than the aria version of Stammi vicino, we thought that if the aria has this sense of grandeur to it, then we should compose the duetto version to be more modest, introversive. We asked Matsubara Rinko to sing the soprano parts per Kudo-san's recommendation. The accompaniment arrangement is very compact - it isn't orchestra, but just piano and string instruments and harp.
Just like the aria version, the performance is incredible. I'd be very happy if you focus on the music, too, while listening to this piece.

For the ending of episode 12, we couldn't use the full-length version of this piece, because of time constraints, so we had to edit it and cut off the middle part. At the very last moment, we made an edit in which miraculously the timing was just perfect for it to then lead smoothly to the last scene. When that happened, I have even thought that this show must surely exist somewhere beyond the limits of human understanding.
