I thought Zetton was supposed to be the ultimate enemy of Ultraman
Zetton is an enemy but not a villain -- this is the main thing that usually separates kaiju and seijin in Ultraman; one is a living, thinking person with a goofy plan or a mindset that challenges the character, and the other is generally a mindless beast. Even when the beast is dabbling in a more involved plot, it's usually in favour of a simpler version of the aliens (Zetton is a tool to destroy the enemy, the aliens controlling it being nothing more complex than that) or going for a more spiritual idea.
So, that's the big difference between Zetton and Mefilas -- Zetton is the final enemy Ultraman faces and the one so overwhelmingly powerful that manages to actually defeat him, yes. But when you're talking about a villain, an actual character opposite Ultraman with his own plots and ambitions and ideologies... Mefilas is the ultimate example of that, and well-remembered for it

Semi-low-effort sketch for this Splatfest, and a tad bit late, but hey.
Was just gonna draw Michael Reynolds normally but then I got the idea to doodle him dressed as Frye.
I like to think in canon he's moreso a demon than an alien, but his design is based on Zetton Seijin so... this counts.
I feel like it would have been much funnier to do something with Michael De Santa's drug hallucinations, but I couldn't think of a good composition, plus it just sounded too hard to draw with the limitations of Splatposts.

Mission 3: Bomb Delivery
New Generation Stars: A mysterious entity hacked the Land of Light security and erased the records of Ultra Heroes, gloating they would be unable to keep their legacy alive. However they the received a message from Decker's universe, a message from the future, where they still have those records. Ultraman Zero received the Dimensionizer, and assurances they can recover the data through it. Zero in turn sent it to Z, and a data gathering mission started. Z is focusing on New Generation Heroes, by thinking on them the Future will send the data to the Dimensionizer. He starts with Ginga, noting his various techniques while focusing on the battle with Zetton (SD) and Magma Seijin (SD) on the moon, as well as Ginga Strium, then Victory and his UlTrans, X and the Cyber Armours, Orb and his Fusion Ups, Geed and his Fusion Rises, the R/B Brother's elemental powers, making a note of Grigio, before continuing with the Tri-Squad. He thinks he should be done, but there's no reaction, so he thinks about his kouhai, Trigger and Decker. He still has no luck, when Ginga contacts him, telling him he's meant to be gathering memories of himself.
Geats: After a call from Sara about how best to cut a pineapple, a mission begins, and they discover Jamato delivering fruit, which explode if disturbed, Ace getting a Magnum Buckle, and a threat is sent to DGP about the bombs, which explode at sunset. In another scramble, Keiwa and Ace are hit by a bomb after defeating the Jamato, Keiwa then realising Sara has a bomb, they all find her wrapped in wire like vines, and don't know which to cut. Neon's mother is angry about her father putting Neon in such a dangerous game, and calls her telling her to leave, Neon refuses. Beroba, a Jamato sponsor, comes to Archimedel and requests the Buffa Core, and introduces herself to Michinaga, offering support to fulfill his wish. Sae and Neon discuss feelings of family, Sae wants to maintain her skills so she can support her siblings after the family restaurant closed down. Keiwa realises he needs to find the Jamato delivering the same fruit Sara received. A mid round vote sees one vote for Neon, Sae and Ace. Finding the Jamato, Geats winds up fighting Buffa when he shows up on the Jamato side, letting Tycoon chase the Jamato, when it seals itself away he borrows the Zombie buckle, defeating it to learn he must cut the red wire. Buffa flees after being overwhelmed by pain. Niram os annoyed about Buffa, but a sponsor's support means he has to do things differently. Alone, Sae looks at a card that details the Desastar's secret mission, to hit other players with bombs.
Donbrothers: Sonoshi, Sonogo and Sonoroku declare the Donbrothers and Noto trio alike enemies of the Noto to be eliminated. The Noto's first request to ally is rejected, especially as they can't help save Kijino. Terasaki is witness to a fellow Penguin taking Taro's form and goes on delivery, Inuzaka tries to make Jiro see sense, but even when Terasaki confirms it Jiro doesn't believe it. Miho confronts the Penguin Taro, and slaps him, restoring his focus, he returns to Kakamura while she is mobbed by cats. The Noto trio are attacked again, Sonoi deciding the Ring of Forgiveness is the only option, as Taro takes Inuzaka into the forest, the Juto possessed by his will, Taro then frees himself as Inuzaka gets Natsumii down, and Cats start mobbing them and Sonoi. Rather than have Inuzaka use Murasame, Taro uses Goldon Momotaro and burns every origami in the forest, telling the Juto their creation isn't their fault, but for their crimes against humans he will force them to remain only on the forest, all the hosts start being freed. Oni Sister and Saru Brother join the battle between the Noto on the side of Sonoza and Sononi, as Sonoi uses the ring of forgiveness to release all the humans sealed by the Noto, Kijino quickly joins the battle. As the others are all dragged to the fight, Jiro finally sees his friends are all illusions. Together the Donbrothers and Noto drive off the enemy for now. Natsumi awakens with Inuzaka, while some way away, the body of Miho sinks below the water.
Outsiders: Asakura robs a bank at gunpoint, but the police are there quickly. A day earlier, he was discussing the plan with councillor Nezu Chuuta, who will get an insurance payout, swearing not to kill and intending to use the money to repay his brother's kindness. When left alone he is approached by Odin, who he doesn't remember, or the rest of the Rider Battle, and is offered the opportunity to fight in a new Battle, but he rejects the Deck. Nezu calls, only to reveal he set Asakura up, watching from the Mirror World and revealing the Scissors Deck, and the threat to the brother keeps him from acting. Odin again offers the Deck, and as he takes it Asakura recalls his memories of that other history, his true self, and as they police burst in, they find no sign of Asakura Takeshi. He comes to Nezu, having contracted Venovsnaker and stabs him to death with a broken mirror, thinking about his aim to kill his brother again. Entering the Rider Battle, he fights Gai, Raia and Zolda, outside Kamen Rider Diend watches, curious to see the moment history changes. Odin informs him he's the last Rider, and immediately has Venosnaker sicced on him, Ouja takes the Mugen Survive Card, using it to become Ouja Survive. Alongside Venoviper(?) Ouja defeats Odin, annoyed to find himself back in the normal world with no reward. The Odin Deck is snatched by Diend, who suggests he target Zein if he wants and opponent, while Diend calls out Foundation X for stealing the Mirror World research to rebirth the Mirror World, and hands over the Deck, which is used to activate repairs on a destroyed Megido Book, and Desast is reborn.

KAIJU CLUB is a weird show and I’m already in love with it. The main thrust of the drama is “Overreacting.” The main character Ryota seems to exist in a permanent state of terror, certain that his life will implode at any moment due to the disparate factors that he is certain are incompatible. What I do appreciate is that the show is ultimately positive towards inter-personal relationships. A lesser show (that didn’t have so much Tsuburaya backing) would bend over backwards to demonize his fandom as being merely a dumb distraction when he could be talking to girls or focusing on school or some other bullshit. I also love the weird visual storytelling twist involving the monsters that I’d rather not spoil. It’s all quite wonderful.

New (rumoured) trademarks for Ultraman Decker
This new set is from color809 btw
GUTS-Select equipment:
1. GUTS Griffin
2. GUTS Hawk
3. Select Hypergun
(These are consistent with the previous leak of GUTS Select still having the same name even in Decker)
Decker's equipment:
1. Ultra Dimension Card
(This seems more believable than the previous 'D-Flashy Card' name anyways, tho still no idea if this gimmick is fusion or similar to Taiga's)
2. Ultra D-Flasher
3. Ultra Duel Sword
Kaiju names:
1. Gijeran
2. Gregori-Man, Grace
3. Buzdo Seijin, Agams
4. Shaplay Seijin
5. Sphire Soldier
6. Sphire Gomora
7. Sphirasaurus
8. Sphire Red King
9. Sphire Megalozoa
10. King Sphere
11. Mechanical Demon Teraphaser
-
And once again Gijiera makes its appearance, the R'yleh hype persists even in Decker lmao
But interestingly enough, sphires are making a comeback in Decker even tho its in a different universe. Tho if we assume that the King Sphire is the antagonist of the series, this means that it arrived from the future and perhaps Decker pursued it to the present. Not sure if this means that the King Sphere is an existence even greater than Grand Sphere or just a sphire that evolved in the future
But what intrigues me more is the fact that somehow Megalozoa is back and somehow managed to be infected by sphires? This part is kinda weird since I certainly don't recall sphires being able to ressurect anything in the first place, unless it was fusing themselves with inanimate objects, but as we also saw, Carmilla dissipated at the end of Trigger so there's no chance for them to fuse with her remains either.
Unless like Trigger Dark, her dark essence is still around somewhere even after 9 years and the sphires managed to fuse with it, to reveal that they not only can fuse with objects, but dark/minus energy as well? (Since back in Saga, Hyper Zetton's growth in minus energy was able to be detected in another universe since Bat was feeding it god knows how many sphires, so perhaps there's a link between Sphires and minus energy)
Or, cause we only saw Carmilla dissipate, but not the exploded fragments of Megalozoa in its second form, so assuming those said fragments did not dissipate like Carmilla, perhaps they fused with it and in turn, regenerated Megalozoa, but now with the sphires controlling it instead of Carmilla?
In addition, earlier leaks also pointed out that Teraphaser would initially belong to the series' antagonist but later be used by GUTS. But how exactly would or even why would King Sphere really need it? Assuming its close to the capabilites of Grand Sphere
And considering that we see Teraphaser as a single trademark, I assume it'll already just look like a fusion of Deathfacer and MG5 that could split rather than the other way round as originally thought
Gosh I hope we would get DX figure releases of them

Ultraman (1966) Illbleed (2001)
Michael Reynolds' stiff and unnatural animations and poses even mirror those of the Zetton Seijin. I'm surprised it's deliberate, considering the fact that most Dreamcast cutscenes look like that to begin with.

ULTRAMAN Episode 19/Chapters 66-70
Yapool advises JACK and TARO to get inside the Golden Fortress and destroy the reactor, which they can donthanks to Moroboshi blowing a hole in the cannon. SSSP members arrive to provide assistance.
ULTRAMAN meets up with ACE, who leads him to the captive Hayata, they get him free but are then cornered by Bado Seijin troops, but Moroboshi rushes in and cuts the, down, still suffering from his battle, he has secured an escape route and actually compliments Shinjiro.
The SSSP chopper drops TARO and JACK into the Golden Fortressmbefore being shot down, they meet there with the escaping team, and explain their plan, telling them to get to safety. Pedant Seijin, at this point having no use for them, yells his last subordinate, Dealer Seijin, to deal with them as he sees fit.
Tumblr media
When Dealer Seijin stands in their way, JACK stays to deal with him, having TARO go ahead to destroy the reactor, defeating Dealer Seijin in wrestling before collapsing from his injuries.
TARO bursts into the reactor and unleashes his firepower on the Core to no avail. Pedant Seijin enters, gloating how untouchable the core is, and offers to let TARO see the holo projection of the Golden Fortress demolishing SSSP HQ. TARO prepares to unleash how full explosive power, when he hears Izumi telling him not to, as he will really die this time. However, TARO isn't prepared to let Pedant Seijin toy with human lives anymore, and releases all of his power in a massive explosion, JACK barely manages to raise a barrier and comes flying out, landing at the other's feet, the Ultra Badge landing nearby. He's the only one aware of how much has just been lost immediately.
Pedant Seijin descends, genuinely impressed they destroyed the Golden Fortress, but swearing to defeat them all nonetheless. JACK, SEVEN and ACE throw themselves at him in turn, after tossing each aside he summons 3 doppelganger, father and son try to face the 4th, but Hayata is soon thrown away.
Ide in forms Hayata he has finally finished what he's been working on for him, and transmits the Ultraman Suit VerZ, ZOFFY, a suit with all the weapons of Shinjiro's suit, and which compensates for Hayata's age with 6 smaller Specium Cores around the main one. ZOFFY immediately rejoins ULTRAMAN. In response, Pedant Seijin powers up, but ULTRAMAN releases his limiter and father and son throw him around like he's nothing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Still alive, he gloats they're not Ultraman if they cannot use the Specium Ray to defeat him, and channels Dark energy through his doppelgangers to attack their beaten foes. With no choice, both unleash their Specium Rays, but he raises a barrier very much like Zetton's to resist it, but a 3rd Specium Ray joins their barrage from Bemular, as the attacks break through, he glosts that his death will complete his plan, before dying, each of the doppelgangers fading.
Watching from base, Edo applauds.
Bemular has an idea of Pedant's final meaning, that this is only the beginning of the end, before saying they will meet again and Schwatching away.
At a baseball stadium, Rena and the other disappeared people return.
Kotaro awakens in another-dimensional space, finding Izumi there, their arrival probably a result of the errors with the transfer system. Bemular appears as a giant, Kotaro asks him to save Izumi, but he cannot, he can only save Ultraman. Izumi tells him to go and continue saving people, before vanishing into light for a final time. He asks Taro if he wishes to be Ultraman again, when he agrees, Bemular returns the light to ULTRAMAN TARO, who falls.
Rena is at the stadium as people are suspecting to leave, seeing news footage of the aftermath, when Shinjiro arrives. He admits he couldn't have saved her alone and starts babbling when she stuns him silent by kissing him, then leaving. His gleeful celebration afterwards, including not being very careful with his power, sees Moroboshi ready to kill him, Jack wants him to have his fun, but Seiji plays along with Moroboshi. Taro suddenly falls from the sky, the others glad he made it, and the 6 Ultraman are prepared to work together when they need to, Jack plans to take Taro back to America so it can have an Ultraman of it's own.
(Manga version)
In a flashback, Dan decides to bear up some middle schoolers who had been bullying Rei, shooting some acid or something at them, then later as their parents lie dead, Dan watches Dealer Seijin take Rei away.
In the present, as the Ultras charge, Rei summons down their Bado Seijin troops, Red charges in alongside Jack's men, ULTRAMAN and ZOFFY face Bell Seijin, JACK fights Dealer Seijin, Bemular asks Adad if he's just going to watch at ACE cuts down troops, at which point they are targeted by Chibull Seijin. Taro burns through troops to rush Pedan Seijin.
SEVEN charges Rei, asking if he is who he believes, and unmasks to show he is Dan, but Rei has no idea who he is. Or rather, the being who is now using the body has no idea, having been given it as a replacement for his own bodies destructions. Now clear that, despite appearances, this isn't Rei, Dan now has nothing holding him back.
The same gang that targeted Rena before find her, now thinking straight and aiming to protect her, she somehow has been unharmed by the building falling on her. When Bado Seijin soldier attack the hoodlums try to fight them off, but are only saved by ULTRAMAN.
ZOFFY struggles with Bell Seijin, who reveals his 4 arms, JACK struggles against Dealer, but Red joins him in fighting, despite his anger with him, Jack decides to use his blades.
"Rei" begs SEVEN not to kill him, he's his brother after all, but it's not his brother, so SEVEN only wants to let whatever is left of Rei die with dignity, after Rei was the one who eventually saved him, not revealing his location as he was abducted. Dan decapitates Rei, leaving one sword there, and plans how to kill Dealer as well.
Seiji wonders what Chibull Seijin can actually do, and they find themselves crushed by heavy gravity manipulated by the alien, destroying Seiji's left arm. Adad however, having done his research on the Star of Darkness, is unaffected, and destroys Chibull Seijin, while jokingly making a comment about killing all who threaten the earth.
ZOFFY tells Ball Seijin to give up, as the powered has from merging with Ultraman means he will not lose to him, Bell Seijin decides to mock him, when ULTRAMAN lands on him, then throws him into the sky, ZOFFY destroying him with a Specium Ray.
Dealer Seijin holds off Red and JACK, and Jack's suit doesn't have a Specium Ray, but when it charges them SEVEN suddenly bisects Dealer Seijin from behind.
Pedan Seijin is all that's left to deal with, Taro emerges having defeated the soldiers, and dismisses his comrades, saying the battle has already been decided, they never planned to invade with so little forces, and explains a Mole got them into the city to earth, they never met but suspect they are low level in the council, Red and Adad have a look, as only they know this was Adad. They used the mole to hide the true plan, made by their leader, pulling out lots of samples of the drug, he explains the aim was to show aliens humanities unworthiness, and then be killed by Ultraman, as he ingests the drug.
Tumblr media
Mutated to this giant state, he attacks, as Adad privately notes he has also achieved his own goal.
When Ide calls Hayata asking that they capture Pedan Seijin so they can interrogate him, Pedan Seijin, listening in somehow, reveals he has taken a lethal dose, and will use his time to kill them.
Pedan Seijin's blasts demolish the city, devastating. Even though doing so is just giving him what he wants, they realise they have to kill him, as he calls out to prove they are Ultraman using the Specium Ray.
ULTRAMAN and ZOFFY fire the Specium Ray, but it isn't enough, so Hayata turns to Bemular, asking him to help. While surprised by Hayata's knowledge of who he is, Bemular joins with his own Specium Ray. The three Specium Rays destroy Pedan Seijin, the last remains are atomised by Taro.
In his private chamber, watching the 3 Specium Rays, Edo applauds. Adad leaves, promising to Red to explain another time. Bemular leaves, promising to see Shinjiro again, Hayata confirms to Shinjiro what he realised after the battle with the Ace Killers, that Bemular, despite his appearance, is Ultraman. Red wants to smack Jack once.
(This next part is an epilogue portion, but as Adad isn't connected to the Star of Darkness in the anime, it won't be adapted. Whether the plot line or leads to will be is another question.)
In Babel, the Council discusses, Ambassador Mephisto noting that Adad definitely assisted the Star of Darkness, and regardless of his motives, he has to know too much. The chairman orders Adad eliminated, releasing from a cage the Lions to hunt him down.

What's the history between Ace and Yapool in this AU? (If there is any)
(Like everything I write about most of the ultras this might change later ; but so far I quite like the idea of “Ace the Ripper” so that's what I'm going to go off of for now)
Just like in canon, Ace lost his parents when he was young during one of the many wars lead by ultras. He was taken in by Ken (against Marie's wishes), but it quickly became clear losing his parents had deeply affected him in the worst ways possible: he was reclusive, angry and prone to bouts of violent agression where he would punch, kick, bite and scratch at his adoptive parents at the slightest inconvenience. Things kept getting worse after Taro was born as Mary's resentment for Ace only increased, in turn causing Ace to despise Taro. All of this eventually culminated into Mary throwing a teenage Ace out of her house after the young ultra allegedly attempted to stab Taro in his sleep with a kitchen knife.
It seemed Ace had completely vanished after that, until monsters began disappearing from neighboring planets only to later turn up missing their heads or other limbs...
Around that time, Yapool was the detective constable for the local police force on one of the planets where bodies started turning up. He was assigned to one of the many cases regarding "The Guillotine Prince" (as Ace had come to be known) and, unlike most detectives until then, actually made good progress and managed to find Ace's hideout. What he found in the hideout however are... Things he refuses to talk about, even to this day. This discovery lead him on a wild chase across two different solar systems, until he finally managed to take Ace down during a shoot out where he watched him fall from a cliff into the river below (cliché, I know). After that Yapool moved to Seijin-1 and worked with the local police for a little while before founding the Monster Task Force with Zetton and another friend.
He remained in the Task Force for several years before retiring- until headless monsters began showing up again on Seijin-1...
