Can I ask why people assumed Ghoulia would be nonverbal in the movie?

While I agree that it's jarring that she speaks English, she always did speak, just in a completely different language that the audience didn't understand.

Not sims related but I was playing Project Zomboid, and wandering around doing my duty, killing zombies and looting and all. I killed a zombie that seemed very deaf, kept walking away from me, and was doing all sorts of things in front of this house, when I realized... there’s literally a zombie sitting RIGHT THERE. And I’d been there a while but he still hadn’t gotten up.

And all I can think is “Stoop Kid’s afraid to leave his stoop! Stoop Kid’s afraid to leave his stoop!”
