Song #80
Fallen Angel by Poison
It was released in 1988 in their album Open Up and Say
 Ahh
youtube
Fun fact: The song is about a young girl who grew up in a small town and goes to Los Angeles to try to make it as an actress. This theme is also a reference to the history of the band itself: Bret Michaels (vocals), Bobby Dall (bass) and Rikki Rockett (drums) all left their native Pennsylvania for Los Angeles in their quest for fame.

#Song 77
Hiding In The Blue by TheFatRat & RIELL
This song was released on July 9, 2021
youtube
Fun Fact: Can you share a little bit about RIELL and how this collaboration came about? "Yeah, she just reached out like so many others. She said she wanted to work with me and I kind of liked the song but the direction wasn’t quite right and I told her, “hey I’m more searching in this direction.” Then she wrote like five songs in the direction I had told her. It was really cool but it was still too
“normal” for me. So I got her on a call and said, “can you just try something crazy.” Then I had this idea, maybe just write 40 different ideas, and about one week later she had them. Also, on the Zoom call we had, she had such a great vibe and I simply was so impressed by her dedication to creative work. So I invited her to Dubai for two weeks and we simply kept writing songs and we had an amazing fun time and yeah so that’s how that song happened."

#Song 76
Nobody’s Fool by Cinderella
This song was released in 1986 in their album Night Songs
youtube
Fun fact: Tom Keifer (vocals) described the song as a "song for the falling out of love experience." He added, "And I would say that was not written for any one particular person. I'd been through that several times prior to writing that song. A lot of times, the emotions of songs are cumulative. That's not one particular experience, but the culmination of many."

Song #73
Classic by MKTO
It was released on June 20, 2013
youtube
Fun Fact: “I wanna thrill you like Michael” probably refers to the Michael Jackson song “Thriller.” He wants to keep her entertained and excited on a date, like in the music video of “Thriller” They want to have a special, unpredictable relationship. “I wanna kiss you like Prince.” Believe it or not, this refers to a song by Prince, called “Kiss.”  “Let’s get it on like Marvin Gaye.” Marvin Gaye has a song called “Let’s Get it On.” Needless to say, it’s about
getting it on.

Song #71
I'd Rather Sleep by Kero Kero Bonito
It was released on September 30, 2013
youtube
Fun Fact: The song probably deals with mental illness (possibly depression), the discomfort felt by child while growing up and the struggle to regain the sense of innocence lost once you become an adult. The simplistic language used through the song is quite possibly a way to express the idea of the childish idealization of sleep and trying to escape reality.

Keep Your Eye On The Money by Mötley CrĂŒe

Fun fact: This track saw Nikki Sixx (the bassist) hinting at serious self-reflection, with lines such as "Comedy and tragedy, entertainment or death" and "dancing on the blade" as "the crowd screams on for more" perhaps being reflections on the excesses of the previous two years

Song #69
Soldier, Poet, King by The Oh Hellos
It was released on October 16, 2015
youtube
Fun Fact: The soldier embodies an undying fight for justice and truth, while the poet epitomizes the beauty of emotions, words and sentiments. The king is the embodiment of righteousness, leader of all the virtues, and defender of integrity. The song’s lyrics come directly from The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. It speaks of how faith gives us strength, reminding us that we don't have to choose between being soldiers for justice or being poets. Instead, it is a call to be both. With faith and moral courage we can do hard things, bringing justice and beauty into this world. (this isn't a confirmed meaning but best I could find- Mod Secret)

Song #67
Wellerman by Nathan Evans
It was released on January 21, 2021
youtube
Fun Fact: Known as “Soon May the Wellerman Come” or “The Wellerman,” the sea shanty from New Zealand dates back to 1860. A long song with lots of lyrics, the song likely provided a great deal of meaning and accompaniment to long days in the country as shore whalers hunted their giant sea mammals for flesh and oil. The title of the song is a reference to supply ships owned by the Weller brothers, who were some of the earliest European settlers of the Otago region of New Zealand. In 2021, Nathan Evans earned a viral hit on  TikTok for his cover of this song.

Note
So I know mod gremlin likes David Bowie and if mod secret likes him too then she can answer this question too. What is your favourite David Bowie personas?? Mine is probably Halloween Jack or The Thin White Duke!!
Well mod secret doesn’t really listen to David Bowie, and well that’s a tough question. I’m going to have to go with Ziggy Stardust, Halloween jack and Aladdin Sane!!
