Hello and welcome to another long overdue OC ask :3c. Today I shall cover perhaps the only “normal” person living in my head— Cynthia :D (Well, she is probably insane but everyone around her is worse, so it cancels out /j (my head children are great ty very much))

Cynthia Conifer Smith, 15, is a soul addled with executive dysfunctional issues (mood), a love for anime and other assorted melodramatic Japanese media (and Mario kart), a passion for making esoteric lil potions aka mocktails,, and a need to thrive in this capitalistic society by owning a babysitting side hustle which operates mostly by chucking kids in the garage where she has a lil arcade set up and proceeding to watch them fail miserably at said arcade games. I absolutely love her to pieces. She is also pansexual~

Unlike many of her half-breed Lucid Dreamer friends, Cynthia remains 100% a pure and wholesome human :>. And much like Inigo, she immigrated to Amonea in her childhood. The circumstances, however, being a lot less tragic and a lot more wholesome than him. You see, Cynthia originated from a region of Byrgir with stiff academic competition and pressure to succeed, something which really took a toll on her brother, who only wanted to be an artist in life. Her brother was aware that with her neurodivergence, life would be increasingly miserable for her, especially since their parents were the type for no accommodations and high expectations. So after argument after argument, he took Cynthia with him as they moved to Amonea, and has been raising her ever since~

Cynthia integrated well into Amonea, made even better by the fact that there was another newcomer at the same time as her! This ended up being Inigo, and they have been the bestest of friends ever since <3. However. It was not like this friendship was without it’s incidents. Cynthia with her #quirky energy and earnest demeanour, at some point, made herself quite the target for juvenile mean girl bullying. This escalated to the point where at one point it looked like she was about to be cornered, when *shwiiiip*!!! Inigo dashes to protect her. with his pocket knife brandished. in front of too many people. during lunchtime at school.

He got promptly suspended (perhaps the start of his delinquent behaviour, in a way)

On the other hand the bullying stopped :D. And being both made outcasts, they found a newfound depth to their friendship that wasn’t there before.

There’s also another interesting moment in their 6 years of shared history. Due to the twin disappearances of the Dandelions (Dism and Archus), Amonea schooling has quite the lean into mental health, asking for help, stranger danger, y’know, related concepts to what happened in 2002-2003. And at one point both Cynthia and Inigo were called to do a research assignment about ✨depression✨ (At a level suitable for their age). And Inigo takes this assignment far too seriously bc that’s what he does, he needs the best grades for everything. It was incidentally at this point where he wrongly assumes that by having thrown Archie’s diary filled with very important pictures even though why he did it was largely not his fault, he set Archie on a very bad spiral ultimately culminating in, well, suicide. Anyway due to this “revelation” Inigo essentially shuts down into a state of immense listlessness and fear. And obv Cynthy wants to know what’s wrong, so she tries talking to him when he’s alone. And he. He looks at her with these scared wide open puppy dog eyes, and runs away 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 (he is so scared that by getting close, the same will inevitably happen to her). So!!! Cynthy decides enough is enough. This poor child absolutely needs to know there’s always someone happy and bright and there for him, she reasons, and with her love for anime in tow she dyes her hair in the brightest possible colour she can think of- pink! And she’s been keeping it that way ever since it’s been like Inigo’s heart has been encased in ice, and then further chained in the prison that is his mind (perhaps waiting for a certain bright-eyed bisexual boy to shine a gentle light to wake him up again so he can free himself… wait no I’m not doing this I’m not ready for Disigo feels this GODDAMN TIME OF NIGHT—)

Anywayyy Cynthy has matured(?) into quite the air headed fanfic author, and a particular enthusiast of RichAss of Tales of Graces fame. She’s a moodmaker, loud and extroverted, much unlike her best friend. She embroils herself in Dism’s newfound circumstances regardless of whether she has powers or not bc she wants to make herself feel useful, not unlike Dism’s true motivation (perhaps with less misguided/darker reasoning than him :>). Quite an out-of-the-box thinker!

Anyway for the question that has been bequeathed to me— hand or forehead kisses? Well, I think Cynthia would take the hand kisses <3. She’s a bit of a playful person, and ofc we have that media influence bleeding right through. But also, she has bangs that are in the way! However,, I do think that when it comes to giving kisses, she would be pecking Archie and Idyllia on the forehead (I like to imagine them in a polyamory sometimes, and trust me you have not seen anything fluffier). Those two deserve something honest and direct after all!!
