Here have a selfie cuz I am feeling myself ❤️❤️ I’m almost at 40 pounds lost and I am so happy with the changes in my face. I FEEL like myself again and that, for me, is the whole point!
Protein shakes are saving my life right now! The thing about being fat adapted is that I very often forget to eat and when I am hungry not much sounds good especially in the morning (I am soooooo sick of eggs!) two scoops of protein and a scoop of collagen in water with two ice cubes makes me feel SO good in the mornings and I know I’m getting the protein and nutrients I need!
This last month had been a challenge! I’ve slowed significantly on weight loss but honestly I’m okay with that. One of the most important things to me on this journey was healing my relationship with food and eating and o feel like I’ve made a lot of progress into changing my way of eating and lifestyle rather than just a “diet”.
Still going keto strong! This WOE works for me wayyyyyy more than I would have guessed! I’m proud and excited for what’s to come!
I know I haven’t updated much but between part time work from home, full time college classes, Virtual first grade for my son, a crazy two year old running around, a husband who is an essential worker I. Am. Exhausted. 😭
That being said though... still going keto strong and feeling pretty great!! I can’t believe I’m down 34.4 pounds in 3 months 😬 I haven’t been this small since before I got pregnant with my first!
Even when the world feels like a giant struggle bus there’s something to celebrate! I am technically only 12 and half pounds till my goal weight! We’ll see when we get there though 🤷🏻♀️
I know I haven’t updated in a while but we’re still going strong! Doing a more lazy keto for the month of November because weighing and logging everything isn’t sustainable for me. So far I’m feeling good and losing at a consistent rate despite not macro or calorie counting. When I got pregnant with my daughter 3 ish years ago I had just hit 193 which means I am SO close to being the lowest I’ve been since before my first pregnancy nearly 7 years ago!!!
Officially down 22 pounds! Almost half way :) honestly considering last week was 🦈 week I feel really good about my progress so far! This is a big milestone for me but I’ve hit it a couple times back and forth in the last couple years and I always lose motivation right around here so I’m not totally celebrating yet. Just going to keep on keeping on ☺️
Finally went to Starbucks to try this keto approved drink. It has a total of 2.5g carbs and is definitely a treat type of thing but I really needed it today and it was DELICIOUS 🤤
We totally caved and bought a blood ketone meter. We have the pee stick ones but they aren’t very accurate and I’m someone who is super motivated by something tangible. That trait has been really challenging when, as it always does, the scale fluctuates. So I figured being able to test my ketone level would be a great way to not only learn about myself physically (what knocks me out of ketosis etc.) but to celebrate and help me stay motivated. AND because I’m still nursing my daughter some keep an idea on my levels to make sure they aren’t going too high into dangerous territory.
So anything above a .5 reading signifies the body being in ketosis and 1.0-3.0 is in the optimal zone. I’m so proud of myself right now!
Tried fat head dough pizza today! Honestly it was really good! One side was sugar-free marinara with pepperoni and one was Alfredo sauce with grilled chicken. I liked the Alfredo side better honestly, which, is good because Alfredo has wayyyy less carbs than marinara even without any added sugar.
Sorry I haven’t updated much in the last few days! We’ve been just chugging along. It’s starting to feel easier and I don’t really miss carbs that much at this point 🤷🏻♀️ I did get my period yesterday which is a challenge for sure but I bought some Lily’s chocolate that’s sweetened with stevia so things could be worse 😂 I’m staying far away from the scale this week so I’ll have to wait for a weigh in and measurements.
This is day ummmmm... 20.... I think? Yeah 20. And I’m proud we’ve made it this far!! We switched to Cronometer to track macros because I found carb managers food database to be annoyingly inaccurate (I know you can looo to see if it’s a verified food entry but I do not have the time to search through all that). Cronometer is sooo much better except that it’s not as keto friendly and I miss some of the features of carb manager. Also decided to focus on staying under carbs, meeting protein, and letting fat be a lever depending on the needs of the day instead of trying to hit certain percentages so we’ll see how it goes!
I was missing avocado toast this morning so I decided to do my own keto version. This is too fried eggs with ½ an avocado mashed up with lime, salt, and a bit of jalapeño and spread over the eggs with red pepper flakes and homemade pickled watermelon radishes on top. And of course a piece of uncured bacon on the side Super yummy!
