We’re excited to announce the Bottom Louis Fic Fest 2023! After the last four incredible years of this fest, we knew there was no doubt that we had to provide another opportunity for talented writers to share more amazing fics with us.

Our goal is for this to be a fun and motivating opportunity for writers, not something burdensome and stressful. We will do whatever we can to help participating writers make it through the fest, but if you have any concerns or want further information before the BLFF begins, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

໑ Back at It Again by cherrylarry / @beelou​​ (G, 1k, established relationship, song fic, ambiguous ending) this was a great tribute to the song Boyfriends. i enjoyed the angst and was left with a lot of questions which is always good after reading a story well written.

໑ Cookbooks and Toothpicks and One Lizard by LadyLondonderry / @londonfoginacup​​ (G, 3k, strangers to lovers, witch harry) a wonderful take on witches and halloween. i think them meeting where they met was perfect because it combined their personal interests.

໑ blue lights to dreams by dragmedown / @dragmedown​ (G, 3.7k, established relationship, doctor harry, anniversary) very cute story about spouses being immensely in love with each other twenty something years later.

໑ i don’t care, i’m not scared of love by leeanndarling / @shitavocados​ (E, 5k, acquaintances to lovers, tinder au, bdsm) oh, this was so good. i like Louis’ inner monologue was very interesting, and i could feel how conflicted he was. i would read more about this universe to see how their dynamics developed.

໑ purr and shout by anditsonlyforthebrave (NR, 5k, established relationship, a/b/o au) absolutely sweet and lovely! i couldn’t stop smiling the whole time.

໑ Truth or Drink by wehavediscussedit / @wehavediscussedit​ (E, 5.5k, friends to lovers, porn stars au) this was very cute. the juxtaposition of having porn stars open their hearts that way was nice.

໑ You Step Where Words Are Written, Delicate Under Your Feet by daydreamlwts  (M, 6.5k, acquaintances to lovers, foot fetish) very hot and lovely. i enjoyed it a lot.

໑ Dip you in honey by lunarheslwt / @lunarheslwt​ (M, 7k, established relationship, kid fic, baking) so incredibly cute! just tons of fluff and an incredibly sweet ending.

໑ Little Freak (AKA: Jezebel) by homosociallyyours / @homosociallyyours​ (T, 8k, strangers to lovers, awkward flirting, cat fic) so, so cute! i thought all the details about pet care were cool, and the end was the cherry on the top.

໑ kiss it better by baremysoul / @transparentheartz​ (M, 8k, acquaintances to lovers, college au, pwp) i love miscommunication in fics and this story was a great example. i liked the characterisation of everyone, especially Louis’. and the word count was very clever.

໑ …With Love, (Almost) No Plot. by thecheshirepussycat / @the-cheshire-pussy-cat​ (E, 10k, strangers to lovers, porn stars au) i have no idea how the author did it but this was incredibly filthy as it was sweet.

໑ if i saw you every day forever by heartofartichokes / @heartofartichokes​ (M, 10.6k, friends to lovers, college au) i really liked this, it was very cute! as i was reading it i realised how easy it was to be familiarised with the characters because i felt as if i was catching up with my friends.

໑ Needles and Lyrics by Whoopsiedaisiesss / @shining-louist​ (M, 12k, strangers to lovers, singer louis, designer/stylist harry) what i liked about this story was louis’ character development.

໑ And If Ever I Can Rescue You by armadillosunset / @armadillosunset (M, 14.7k, established relationship, my hero academy au) this was so entertaining and intriguing! it was very fun to learn about the heroes and their quirks. no previous knowledge required to read this.

໑ Apparently by Chance, at Precisely the Right Moment by lousmoonshine / @lousmoonshine​  (E, 19k, strangers to lovers, a/b/o soulmates au, teacher harry) this was painful but also so lovely! i liked the idea of how soulmates found each other in this universe, it was very interesting.

໑ fire, embers, ash and tinders by louisbopeep  (E, 21.8k, acquaintances to lovers, photographer au, tinder) this was so hot but also i enjoyed the trust the pair had with each other, it was sweet to read.

໑ Thawing Permafrost by smittenwithlouis / @smittenwithlouis​ (E, 22k, acquaintances to lovers, fantasy au, arranged marriage) this author never cease to amaze me with her ability to build worlds, and to give known tropes a twist. the characterisation of all characters was incredible, and i could really read more about this world without getting tired.

໑ The Games We Play by alltheselights / @alltheselights​ (E, 23k, strangers to lovers, miss sloan au, politics, read author’s note) the best way i can describe this fic is that it made me feel like listening “holding on to heartache”. that same feeling of finding greatness. i know nothing about USA politics but i didn’t have to—everything was so easy to understand and most importantly it was entertaining! i couldn’t put it down.

໑ live in my dream state, relocate my fantasy by thepolourryexpress / @thepolourryexpress​ (E, 24k, strangers to lovers, Howl’s Moving Castle AU) i’ve never watched that movie because in my mind it was too hard to understand lol but this fic made it look easy to comprehend in a beautiful and entertaining way. it was a bad day when i read this and it made it so much better, so give it a chance to do that for you, too.

໑ you go undercover (you cross your fingers) by forthetherapy / @forthetherapyy​ (E, 25.8k, strangers to lovers, a/b/o au, touch depri, single parent louis) i really liked that this story was set in Ireland, and i think what this story left me was that is okay to ask for help.

໑ crave for more of you by cuddlerlouis / @cuddlerlouis​ (E, 34.6k, friends to lovers, tiktok challenge) listen, this is more than just the prompt. it was such a round story, we could see so many aspects of them as individuals but as friends as well. i could feel the pain when the angst appeared, it was beautifully written. i just…loved it so much.

໑ just a pretty boy by outropeace / @outropeace​ (E, 35.6k, exes to lovers, amnesia a/b/o au) i fell like watching a telenovela with all that betrayal omg i liked the world building on this, especially with the bonds (and bond removal).

໑ Stay Until Tomorrow by youreyesonlarry / @youreyesonlarry​ (E, 36.7k, exes to lovers, mechanic harry, trust issues) i couldn’t stop crying during and after reading this oh my god. even though i knew what was coming from the prompt, it was incredible to experience the feeling of good angst.

໑ borrow the moonlight by princelouisau / @princelouisau​ (E, 37.7k, exes to lovers, musical theatre au) this was a wonderful story. i loved how the author took advantage of the prompt to have some exes to lovers angst. the characterisation was amazing and the development of the story as a whole was so entertaining to watch.

໑  Quiet People Have the Loudest Minds by 2tiedships2 / @2tiedships2​ (M, 38k, strangers to lovers, a/b/o, mute louis, broadway references) i absolutely adored Harry’s and Louis’ characterisations, and how everything developed for them. i also enjoyed Liam and Niall in this, they were really funny.

໑ what a wicked thing to do (to make me dream of you) by maroonmoonlouis / @maroonmoonlouis​ (E, 44.4k, enemies to lovers, a/b/o dark academia au) perfect word count lol. this was such an intriguing story with great character development. i liked how even if they hated each other guts, they were still protective of each other.

໑ til’ the darkness softly clears by reliablyimperfect / @mmm_kat   (E, 45k, established relationship, paranormal au, inspired by the conjuring (movies), read tags and author’s note) i’ve never seen the movie but this was scary as hell. i had to stop reading at moments bc of how heavy it was but it was so entertaining that i kept reading anyway lol the atmosphere and the tone of the story were incredible, as were the characters and the plot. if you’re easily scared like myself, i suggest to read it when there’s natural light outside lol.

໑ once burnt, twice shy by pluckedcherries / @camellia-lily​ (E, 52.6k, strangers to lovers, firefighter harry, writer louis) i really liked to see how their relationship developed and how well they fitted with each other. the characterisation was phenomenal as well. a great story all in all.

໑ This is how you fall in love by Halfwayhomelou / @min-hemlighet​ (E, 53.5k, strangers to lovers, pop star louis, chef harry) this was so sweet and sexy, but also it had a bit of angst and crying… it had it all. i enjoyed the original characters a lot.  

໑ a love like this won’t last forever (and I don’t mind at all) by orleelou / @orleelou​ (M, 54k, strangers to lovers, mistress louis, childhood trauma) i don’t think there are enough words to describe how much i enjoyed this story. it was a ride (especially because i read it in the morning) but it was so worth it.

໑ Derail the Mind of Me by pleasinglouis / @pleasing-louis (E, 77k, friends to lovers, criminal minds au, murder reference and descriptions, read tags) i love crime solving stories and this one was no exception! i was curious as to how someone as Louis’ character would work in such a tough job but somehow he fit quite well (idk if that’s how the character in Criminal Minds is since i haven’t watched the series) but Harry’s character was just as great! they had such a nice dynamic.

໑ yours is the only ocean by edensrose / @holdingthornsandroses (louis/tom hardy, E, 3k, strangers to lovers, boxer tom) i liked the chemistry between the characters. very sexy, i’d read more about this universe for sure.

໑ With This Wing, I Thee Wed by LadyAJ_13 / @ladyaj-13 (niall/louis, T, 4.6k, friends to lovers, fake relationship) this was so incredibly cute! their friendship was perfect and it made so much sense of them to end up the way they did lol.

໑ wonder what it’s like by eynap / @panye (niall/shawn mendes, E, 4.7k, strangers to lovers, magic au, witch niall, model shawn) this was so much fun to read, i could feel Niall’s predicament and how mortified he was, but the end was worth it lol.

໑ Cigarettes and Chances by faithinwalls369 / @faithinwalls369 (louis/liam gallagher, G, 7k, strangers to lovers, busker/photographer louis, singer liam, meet-cute) this was so cute and lovely. the writing style was so pretty that i kept reading and reading and when i least expected it was over. the story was amazing and i wish there was a sequel.

໑ Not Sure How To Say This Right by wabadabadaba / @wabadabadaba (girl direction, louis/florence pugh, M, 7.4k, friends to lovers) this was so good, i didn’t want it to end. i loved their characterisation and the friendship between them. the smut was beyond great!

໑ whisper your desires, i’ll provide them by happilyyhalo / @happilyyhalo​ (m/f harry/louis, E, 13k, friends to lovers, college au, losing virginity) this was very sweet! i enjoyed the story they shared together as friends and how their dynamics work. it was very cute but also sexy.

໑ enough to make a girl blush by disgruntledkittenface / @disgruntledkittenface (girl direction, niall/louis, E, 22k, friends to lovers, non traditional a/b/o au) this was such an interesting read! i liked the take of the author in f/f alpha/omega relationships and how their dynamics worked. and it’s nouis so of course i liked it heheh.
