Yes I think it’s fair to say that Oliver’s interview answers/comments about buddie are pretty wack if it’s not happening and he knows it. And by happening in this case, I mean like, a clear indication in text by end of season 7 that one or both of them have feelings.

right lol. and i know this fandom gets incredibly sensitive about this stuff but i do think that if buddie isn’t happening, that some of these answers (this particular answer about buck’s attraction to eddie) absolutely are beginning to toe a line that’s inappropriate. i’m not saying oliver is 100% responsible because said answers are certainly being greenlit from elsewhere but i will be angry and disappointed - not in a “i wanted buddie to happen and it didn’t” way but in a “you made all these claims about respect and then used the promise of this gay relationship for marketing when you knew it wasn’t in the cards” way. which wasn’t at all the case when we were getting diplomatic non-answers - i would prefer those. so i hope something does happen so he’s not in a position where he’s doing the thing he said he wanted to avoid, cooking up a story about how this newly-out bi man suddenly is into his straight best friend 🤷🏾‍♀️
