Any Greek mythology books for hellenic polytheism and some Norse paganism books?
(To preface, I'm not a mythological/religious authority so others may have more references that are better to work with. I'm mentioning introductory books/references.)
You can use the original texts to get the true original intents behind the portrayal of the gods. Here's a link of a named list of Greek Myth Texts to reference of the AMOUNT of work there is of Greek texts. For Norse Paganism, going into Skaldic Poetry (I enjoy this site specifically as it has original language and a modern translation). Also getting into the Prose and Poetic Edda, Snorri Sturluson's work, are a given. Information on Norse Myths have been more lose to time than Greek Myth, obviously.
For simpler understanding in modern language, there's also a series of modern books that are easier to read like by Edith Hamilton or D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths for introductories. (I believe Mythology by Hamilton also described Norse Myth too). Neil Gaiman writes, again, introductory books but not a good reference for accuracy since his work is more of a retelling of the originals. For websites, easiest ones to use are Theoi and Norse-Mythology. Both of these sites are referenced at the bottom so you can see where information came from. My main tip though is to study the cultures where these mythologies manifested and thrived in. Studying art history especially is always a fun way to study mythology since it is a very revisited topic throughout art. The mythologies and symbols derived from them create a good visual shown through time to study mythology from. Study Greek/Roman culture and study Scandinavian culture to understand the cultural contexts to certain myths or the way they were worshipped. They are better references than spirituality books.

Do not tell me that Thanatos hates humanity,
for how is death to hate us if He is there to greet us at the end
Do not tell me that Thanatos hates humanity,
for how is death to hate us if He stays with our bones as they decay
Do not tell me that Thanatos hates humanity,
for how is death to hate us when He holds us in our grief

i think it’s fascinating (and really heartwarming) when a deity just picks you up like a little tamagotchi when you start working with them. literally just excited to be around you so they start smacking you with signs over and over again.
i feel a good connection with hades because of his energy. i’ve always thought him like a father figure but it’s fascinating to have apollo around who is more attributed to my life (being the patron of arts and all). so its kinda funny that it’s just like:
*needs help with something but don’t know who to ask* “ah fuck. idk. maybe i’ll light this person’s candle-“
apollo, sending me a post about him as the first thing i see: HEY!!! HI!!! HELLO!!! PICK ME!!! I CAN HELP!!!!! JUST ASK!!!!! PUT ME IN COACH!!! I WANNA TALK!!

Unpopular Opinion Time
The doodle you make or the picrew you use, the poorly executed poetry or basic bare bones prayer will ALWAYS be better than AI generated offerings.
I am sick of having my feed flooded with practitioners, pagans and other polytheists using AI. Specifically deities like Brigid should never be offered AI in my opinion, it’s essentially a slap in the face.
AI generated spells aren’t shit, it’s what a computer assumes will work based off of what it can gather from internet trends and research. MAKE IT YOURSELF, ask a human for help anything but AI.
There is no place for Artificial Intelligence in these spaces.

Lucifer is divine Knowledge. He is the Morningstar who bore the rebellious torch of freedom and enlightenment. He is the fire-bringer who brought forbidden gifts to humanity. He is the thirst for Knowledge, the neverending quest for Wisdom. He a vast canyon with infinite depths far beyond our human reach.
Lucifer is divine Love. He is the protective embrace from the ones who you love most. He loves us wholly, he sees us for who we are with all of our supposed flaws. His unconditional love spreads far beyond his followers for he loves us all even if we are unknowing. The bright star of Venus who's eternal shine ignites the passionate soul.
Lucifer is the Lightbringer, who fights for freedom and equality. He is Divine Justice, The Challenger, The Adversary, the Infernal Lord, who spits in the face of self-prescribed masters and kings and cuts them down where they stand. He fights for those who cannot and inspires endurance through injustice.
He is Death, the decay that grips your body as your soul rises to The Hollow. He is the terrifying stillness of a corpse. He is the carer of all, taking each and every travelling soul under his wing. He is the world shattering transition, the tower crumbling, the life being sucked out from behind your eyes, the rot seeping into the crevasses of what once was.
He is harsh, the course ground on the forest floor that builds calluses on the soles of your feet. He is the loving light of Venus casting down upon his beautiful children. He will knock you to your knees and help you rebuild from the ground up.
Lucifer is liminal, he is everything and all. He is nature, life, death, and everything in between. He is Infernal and Divine. My Infernal Shepherd and divine mentor, I adore you with my whole being, I grow and thrive in your radiant light.

So I've asked this question to someone else too, but some people always be like: oh gods won't respond back when you're just worshipping (you can't communicate with them) only if you're WORKshipping but I've heard a lot of times that ain't true at all. They can respond back and might with worshipping. What's your take on this?
Here are my own personal definition of the two. Deity Work: Communicating with a deity for reciprocity or a trade of discussed energies and actions. These are often discussed in how it will be done, when it will be done, etc. This can be seen as sort of a "business deal" in a way. There is a specific PURPOSE in why you are contacting them and what will be done between the two of you. (EX: Working with Apollo for your art/music in return for ritual work/dedicating energy&time to him/etc.) Deity Worship: Speaking and acknowledging a deity with reverence. Praising their name, their acts, personalities, myths, etc. Often, this includes traditional worshipping acts like prayer, poems/art/performances, offering gifts/meals/etc. Many times worshippers do so not only to honor the deity but to receive their favor.
To me personally, there tends to be an overlap between these two things with those who pursue deities but not everyone who works with a deity worships them and not everyone who worships a deity works with them.
I think saying worshippers cannot communicate with deities is a little silly. Deities are appreciative of being honored by someone and will often take interest in those who do so. But like... anyone can pick up a divination method and talk to the gods. It's not something exclusive to people who work with deities. Otherwise, how else would you even START deity work if you have to work with them in the first place to talk to them???? I've had the opportunity to speak to a number of deities who I do NOT work with, do NOT worship and they pop up once or twice just to talk. It's super gatekeep-y in my opinion to suggest that only a specific practice has access to the gods when that's just not true?
Everyone's practice is of course different but that doesn't mean you can tell other practitioners what they can/can't do by your own personal set metrics.

Khaire, Apollo Musagetes! Patron of the arts, son of the heavenly Zeus and the gentle-natured Leto, with the works of art I have dedicated to you, grant me the inspiration to create more in your name. Guide my hand across the canvas and allow your golden beauty to be reflected in the sight. I pray to you for the gift of the arts to be enjoyed and celebrated, to have my work spoken with reverence. Warm-hearted and gifted Phoebus, hear my prayer and look kindly upon me and know how I praise and honor you so.

how do you communicate and talk with your deities?
There are a variety of methods to get answers/responses from deities. Since I’m someone who doesn’t take hints, I prefer methods that give me direct messages, which include:
Note: These are methods that work for ME. They may not work for everyone and this isn’t a definitive list of divination methods nor is it an exhaustive guide to using them.
Runes: I’ve used this specifically (and only) with the Norse deities I work with since they’re connected to them. But, they are a bit difficult for me to use/decipher sometimes.
Method of Use: Ask a question to deity and dig into bag of runes without looking. Determine answer from drawn rune(s). May also use a rune spread for a more detailed answer.
Pyromancy: Each of my altars (except one atm) have candles to light. Based on how the candle moves, it gives me a short yes/no answer.
Method of Use: Light candle and call upon deity. Ask a question and analyze the response of the candle flame, whether it moves or doesn’t, what direction, how rapid is the movement, etc.
Tarot: My main method. Takes a while to get all the details of an answer since it gives a lot more information but it’s my most informative way of getting clear and thorough answers.
Method of Use: Ask a question or use a tarot spread. Shuffle tarot cards in any manner then continue shuffling cards until certain cards spill from the deck. Analyze answer based on upright/reversed meanings.
Meditation: This method is most energy-consuming but most rewarding. With this, I can see and hear my deities. Their faces tend to be blurred and my own thoughts can jumble through the process but it’s phenomenal for me. I get emotional and physical sensations with visual associations. I use this method most when I want to confirm what deity reaches out to me.
Method of Use: Lay down in a comfortable position with a quiet environment. Using headphones, play meditative music or a guided meditation audio to fully relax. Visualize or describe a meeting place different than your current environment and invite deity to join your space. Analyze feelings, emotions, sensations, visual experiences, etc.
I’m also looking to eventually get into osteomancy/bone-throwing, bibliomancy, and automatic writing. :)

now.... take a walk with me.... if aphrodite is the epitome of beauty.... and beauty is subjective... THEN SHE CAN BE PORTRAYED AS BEING QUITE LITERALLY ANYTHING INCLUDING POC !!!! RAHHHH!!!!
some Aphrodite devotees get SO mad at me when i say i don’t see Aphrodite as anything but a poc for me because its “not historically accurate”
SHUT UP OH MY GOD
literally just argued with someone about this and blocked them promptly

seriously! it’s honestly what made my beginning curiosity and faithfulness diminish at first because they made the gods seem so silly and like OCs almost!
then, i had to realize that i myself dumb down the messages of my deities when talking to others about it so it seems more natural with my speech! it’ll take me like an hour of tarot to even get a simple message sometimes. it’s not a silly little “teehee they told me they wanted this” when i pass by a candle.
online ≠ reality (especially tiktok content) is kinda the go-to message to take
When i was a beginner at witchcraft and paganism back in 2019, witchtok was at its peak popularity.
And i remember seeing those tiktok skits where witches re-tell the messages they got from their deities in an overly simplified way.
Then i was wondering... How the
f🐬ck did that witchtoker's deity just tell them: ,,i want waffle fries!"
Beginner me was so confused 😵‍💫
So what i want to say is:
Don't be fooled. Sometimes witchy influencers (specifically TikTokers) try to oversimplify the messages they get from their deities, in order to fit them in the 15 second video format with a meme audio for comedy.
Don't be insecure if you don't get deep meaningful messages about your gods! ❤️ We are all different. Some of you maaaay get such messages, some may not! That's oki!
