The New York Times recently had me channel Roy Lichtenstein (who himself had originally channeled comic book artist Tony Abruzzo) to illustrate a story about Jewelry Accidents:

It's Super (?) Tuesday, and my new cartoon for today's Boston Globe illustrates just who … and what … some people are voting for. I have not drawn the former guy since he left office. I didn't want to give him any further attention, and, like many, wished he would go away. For over 3 years he has only appeared as a small silhouette, a dangling red tie, or the back of his head, if at all, in my cartoons. Sadly, he can no longer be ignored. I thought a lot about how to bring him back into my visual lexicon, and decided to play off the long-running meme, with him depicted as the object of infatuation.

Felt like the right time to re-post this (slightly updated) excerpt of a cartoon of mine from 2018. Nothing here would offend Tucker Carlson ...

I created this artwork, which ran in the Minneapolis Star Tribune over the weekend, as I was watching the hearing last week and was feeling both riveted by the testimony and furious that somehow the focus has shifted away from the White male accused of trying to overthrow an election and onto a Black woman who dated a coworker.

Trump posting to his followers that he "looks like Elvis" left me no choice but to re-post this artwork I created (that the New Yorker ran in 2020) imagining the perpetual sore loser painted on black velvet. (Prints and swag with this image available, btw)

I've been missing Trevor Noah on the Daily Show (congrats on that Emmy!). I've enjoyed the rotating hosts, but it certainly adds some excitement to hear that Jon Stewart will be making a part-time return. Really interested to see how that goes, especially as this fraught election year ramps up.
