Daycare Attendant- Hot Take Inbound!

Hi, me again. Overthinking as always. :)

So, listen. This room.

We could talk for hours about this darn room. But let's hyper-fixate on ONE thing about this room today, shall we? The destroyed staff bots.

I've heard several theories on who destroyed them. The two suggestions I can recall are either Moon or Fuhnaff suggested someone trying to help Vanessa (Jeremey, I think? I'm fairly certain it's in his first theory video).

......What if it's Sun?

In Ruin, Sun KNOWS a reboot to their system is what they need. How exactly did he know that? What if he's been messing up staff bots looking for a way to reboot them, FIX them, without help from Fazco technicians or parts and service? Personally, I think I would also go with a form of self-help, given their situation. However, one could argue the reboot wouldn't have worked anyway if Sun and Moon hadn't mutually agreed to it. Sun may have only realized the reboot was necessary when he was trapped by Moon in between Security Breach and Ruin. Suddenly, he knows what it was like to be treated like Moon, and it SUCKS. Going back to the way things were is officially off the table, so the next best thing is to become something new. In that case, my theory goes completely out the window.

However, I could also see Sun doing this to try and find ways to reconnect to Moon. I theorize like most, that Sun and Moon can connect and speak to each other to a certain degree, no matter who is active. At the time of Security Breach, I think that connection has been completely cut off for quite some time. But that's a topic for another day.

There's not a lot of evidence behind this theory. Instead, take it as something to chew on. I'd be interested to see what people think.

Thinking about Sun missing being a theater animatronic and feeling somewhat envious towards the Glamrocks over the fact that they get to be on stage.

He thinks about how Fazbear Entertainment neglects him now that he's working at the daycare and wonders that if he could be on the stage again then maybe they'd begin to treat him and Moon with much more attention and care....

I LOVE that someone took a screenshot of these. I would love to see how this played out. Moon was good at his job. Sun was good at his job. It may not have been the one they wanted, or what they were made for, but, they totally did it.

Interestingly, we have this, which I trust as canon, but the books act like Moon was never meant to exist when they drop the only bit of origin lore we have for them. The book states that they tried to remove Moon fully, but couldn't. So they automatically placed the generators in the play-place to just avoid the lights going out...ever.

However, A.) The books are not exactly canon to the games. Instead, meant to give us clues. and B.) FazBear loves them a cover story. I imagine that story got started when things started going wrong. Moon's starting to cause trouble, then suddenly "Oh, that darn glitch, Moon. He wasn't meant to come out. Ignore the fact we have Moon merch, a candy line, and an obvious nap-time protocol in the daycare."

They did Sun dirty too, but, Moon. Poor Moon got it the worst.

Absolutely encouraging sassy sun and his attitude during arts and crafts BUT DONT FORGET THAT HE IS GOOD AT HIS JOB!!!! I JUST KNOW HES GREAT WITH KIDS!!!!!! LOOK AT THIS FROM RUIN!!!

All of this.....is so beautiful. I have nothing to add to these words of perfection. Especially since the last sound in Ruin we hear from Moon is a sigh. A sigh of RELIEF. The war of control is over, and they're both so much better for it.

Moon totally looked like a villain in the DLC, holding Sun hostage in their eternal night

In retaliation to being held hostage by SUN in never ending DAY and eternal sleep of his own for who knows how long because of what the Afton Virus and Fazco combined did to them.

Sun was just the first one to realize—after being in Moon’s place—that in order to fix their relationship that he needed to somehow get them rebooted to reset their active state so they’d be forced to become Eclipse, whole, again.

Being AI, they can communicate and work things out inside their head and have a full on heart-to-heart in just a few millisecond.

Help Wanted 2: Lets Talk About Sun (Spoilers for Help Wanted 2!)

Okay,

I've had some time to digest Help Wanted 2. What a freaking roller coaster. I'm assuming you all have played/watched/seen Help Wanted 2, so be advised if you haven't seen everything we have access to so far, I'll be bringing it up.

One thing I'll say upfront is its nice to know Sun and Moon ARE older like I theorized. They're tied to the Fall Festival which took place in 1970 per one of the prize collector posters and the fact they deal with the carousel. I think Steel Wool also tried to point out and confirm Moon is patient zero for....I guess I should say Vanny's influence in the PizzaPlex. He's definitely the favorite to be pitted against us. I'm STILL losing my mind over the Princess Quest Ending.

So, the DCA fandom has been all across the board, ranging from "I love sassy Sun" to "Sun is SO mean. This ruins my headcannon." I don't think it really does. At least, it doesn't have to.

Our first encounter with Sun in front of us is Arts and Crafts. This minigame is located in the world we eventually learn is AR. We also are clearly a new FazBear hire. Sun is definitely sassy, and let's face it, VERY critical of what he defines as a mistake. BUT the flip side of that coin is he is still nice when you do the art correctly. He calls you friend, he wants to help you. If the player eats the crafts, he loses his mind. It's because he's worrying for the player due to the effects eating the crafts will have on them, ie: "That is how you get ulcers!". (By far, MY FAVORITE line of Sun's btw. Kellen stated that line and the indigestion line were both improved btw- genius.) He still doesn't want Moon to get you, he doesn't want to get in trouble. The one threat is after you've been hitting him several times and you've outright pissed him off. (I personally, think the "I should turn off the lights myself" was a drama king being a drama king.) Then we take the mask off. We see everything destroyed and Sun acts like the Sun we've always known. "I'm perfectly fine where I am. It's better this way. It's safer this way." "Keep the generator on. Without it I won't be able to help you." He's the same as he's always been. We've just seen a new layer.

What we ultimately have to come to terms with, is that Sun is a control freak and a perfectionist. He thinks he "has" to be. He doesn't want you to move from your craft table so he can watch you like a hawk. Do the job you are assigned. Get in, get out. Do the art HIS way, and follow HIS rules. If you don't, bad things can happen. Bad things HAVE happened. Another explanation could also be that maybe he isn't as free of the glitch trap virus as we thought? He can be sassy, he can be brutally honest, he can be concerned for us, for children, and his own darkness can rear its head, all at the same time.

Steel Wool could also be trying to slam into our faces that Sun is incomplete. He is one-half of a whole. He has good intentions, he means well at his core, but he cannot stop, regroup, and act rather than react. He gets stressed, and can't cope and adjust. Instead, he demands control back when he feels like he's about to lose it. Moon is calm, calculating, and logical. It's why they need to be whole and why Sun is so grateful to Cassie when she fixes them to become Eclipse. As Eclipse, they both find the parts of themselves they've so desperately needed.

okay so Sun Help Wanted 2 rambles below, so BEWARE SPOLERS!!!

okay now that i have that out of my system, let's start with the rambling!!!

obviously we all now know (and love) how sassy and petty Sun actually is around adults. but i've seen sooo many people portraying Sun as just An Asshole and just A Bully and so few have pointed out that actually no!!!! he's a DIVA!!! he's a DRAMA queen!!!! my dudes, he is a former THEATER ACTOR!!!!!! and so so many things, like his mannersim, the way he speaks ("Finally, art that makes you THINK!" , "The Daycare is no place for AMATEURS" , "Be creative on YOUR OWN TIME, WE ARE MAKING ART"), even his entrance (he literally CARTWHEELS into the scene, what a show-off) point to his theatrical origins and how much of a perfectionist he is. He's obviously frustrated whenever you're doing something wrong, throwing offhanded, petty comments at you because he is used to perfection!! for i don't know how long during his theater days he was playing the main character in every play, day after day after day, he's used to things going EXACTLY to plan, and obviously he has expectations from you since you are an adult. (and besides, you gotta give it to him: it must be frustrating and stressful going from working as an actor and being in the spotlight all the time and everything going according to plan to working as a daycare attendant with crying kids who always do mistakes and make a mess and don't draw inside the lines)

and i'm pretty sure that anyone who's more intensly part of any art field (doesn't matter if it's drawing, theater, sculpture, architecture, whatever) has met a few people and crits who behaved and had the same attitude (however less unhinged, ofc) like Sun: not downright bullying you, but being just overall petty and perfectionists.

i just feel that some people downplay Sun's personality by portraying him as just a simple Asshole, when actually the Help Wanted 2 minigame does an EXCELLENT job hinting to his theatrical origins and his really art-passionate, perfectionist, sassy personality

"but he's shredding the player's work!! he IS just a bully!!" my dude, you are playing as an adult who's doing a tutorial/maintenace test and is listed with some tasks. he's obviously not going to keep the "paint-by-numbers" drawing a staff member did for a maintenance test. and he even states that all the artworks done in the Pizzaplex are property of Fazbear Entertainment; so who knows, maybe there is a rule that everything done during maintenance test should be immediately destroyed. (and still, he can also just downright be petty and sassy and snappy towards adults) still a funny gig, lol

anyways i fucking love how much character Sun displays and i fucking love how much of a drama queen and diva he is, can't wait to see the rest of the game!!!

The achievements for HW2 were leaked and one of them is called "Harvest Moon" which you get by hitting Moon in the face with a pumpkin. YOU CAN THROW A PUMPKIN AT MOON.....and SMACK HIM IN THE FACE.

I'm sorry, but giving our favorite gremlin some gremlin energy back makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I literally snorted tea up my nose reading it.

The boy is getting paid back tomorrow after the 26 times he killed me in Security Breach.

Allow me to overanalyze this ONE line and its implications if you don't mind.

Sun shouts this immediately after throwing Gregory out of the daycare. Instantly, every other main animatronic we've encountered up to this point is there, ready to grab Gregory. Their only deterrent is Glamrock Freddy. (However, it's worth noting he was "unable to reach" Gregory until that moment to prove my point.)

GUYS, I think we just got a glimpse at what could have been a standard MegaPizzaPlex emergency protocol. It's the equivalent of a panic button. JUST IMAGINE: There's a parent or relative attempting to swipe a kid from the daycare during a separation, child abuse case, etc. Sun gets that unruly person out of the daycare and sounds the alarm. All the main animatronics are then priority directed to come to the daycare to neutralize the threat while Sun protects the little ones inside. FazBear Entertainment may be shady, but I'd like to think they've come a long way at this point in the series to avoid SOME liability situations.

Even Moon is the most aggressive he is within the game directly after this moment. If you step out of Freddy on purpose or by accident (which, I did lol), Moon insta-kills you. No countdown, no warning, no idling with his cool moves. Straight up ENDS you the second you're on the ground. Normally, you're perfectly fine to walk around Moon whether you're in Freddy or not up until you hit the hour.

Sun calls someone to get you again if you attempt to go down the slide after being banned, too. In that case, I've only ever seen it be Monty pre-shattering, but I don't think anyone has tried to shatter him before Chica, so I am unsure if this would change who comes to stop you. If Monty has already been defeated, it seems to just not do anything.

(Not directly related, but, Freddy's speech explaining how the Attendant is free to roam the building when the lights are out also implies that otherwise, he is NOT allowed to leave the daycare. He is the one who WILL find you if you're in Freddy, no matter what. It's like Fazbear is purposely hardcore limiting Sun/Moon's mobility within the Plex for one reason or another.)

To see this place on a normal day of operation, pre-virus, would be so amazing. I'm just SO proud of Sun for taking such good care of his charges. A shame that after the lights were turned off during Gregory's visit, Sun felt he was safer away from him.
